Announcing XDAtools: a complete new ROM-image toolset - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

We've finally replaced XDArit and created something much friendlier and much more powerful...
XDAtools
XDAtools is a set of tools that deal with the ROM of your device. As you may know, your little device actually contains two computers, one being a PDA and the other doing all the telephone functions. Presently, XDAtools deals with the ROM of the PDA side of your device only, it does not allow you to do anything to do with phone ROM upgrades (which are also called 'Radio Stack Upgrades' or RSU).

Using the OS Image Tool that is part of XDAtools you can read the Operating System ROM image from the flash-ROM memory of your device to your harddisk, and put another OS image in your device. All of this can be done without using SD-cards for transport. This set of tools will replace our previous tool XDArit as the means of moving ROM images to and from SD-cards, should you want or need to use SD-cards and the bootloader as the means of getting a ROM image in or out of your device. You can even read and write images to and from bootloader SD-cards through ActiveSync while your device still has its OS running.
Start the osimagetool with the argument "--register" to create file associations that will allow you to perform useful actions straight from Windows Explorer.
Also included is a tool to replace a bootloader without ever even leaving the Operating System.
Please note: To be completely functional, the XDAtools would need inclusion of some files from HTC's "Programme A" upgrade package, as well as a v5.15 bootloader image if you want to be able to fix bootloaders. All instructions to do this, as well as README files for the tools and all the sourcecode are in the zip.
Click here to download the latest version (without the extra files needed for flashing to the device directly and for fixing a bootloader)

AWESOME work!!!
Just one small issue - when selecting file as a target, the suffix is not added automaticaly - i got slightly confused I had to add .nb1 by hand

Good Works
Hi,
Good works for XDA Dev Team. I still confused to use this tools.
SOURCE : from new NK.nbf file we want to upgrade on my device
Destination : what we chose ? device memory
i read on your README File, we just put all Programe A content and bootloader_V5_15.nbo to binaries folder. And if we want to ugrade from PPC 2002 to PPC 2003 we just change the NK.nbf file on the binaries/english
Add to /binaries:
"bootloader_v5_15.nb0"
"Programme A.exe"
Add to /binaries/English:
"CLoader_serial.nb"
"CLoader_usb.nb"
"GetConnectionType.dll"
"NK.nbf"
"remote_flash.exe"
"SetSystemTime.dll"
Please tell me if im wrong because i don't want made the second mistake, and sorry for my english
Thanks
Sandy.M

To All XDA-Dev. Great Job!!!! it is a very nice tool, I can even backup my OS even my XDA is still running, no need for messy booting, inserting/removing SD card. i have only one question, Does it copy also the program I already installed in the XDA or it copy only the files in the ROM?
More power to XDA-Developers.

Hi rpc,
Why do you include adaptrom.exe? And what's in the start.bat?
Could you explain it a bit? Pardon, my slowness in understanding......
Thanks in advance.

I added Start.bat because the program XDATools when run and you select Destination "Device memory (via Program A)" it will look for Start.bat, it is a batch file which run the adaptrom.exe and Program A.exe. Now what is adaptrom.exe -> it is a program which removes the checking of version when your creating an update to your XDA.
Hope this will help you.
Ronnie

Hi Ronnie,
All clear. Thanks. Appreciated.
This is a great tool. It replaces many many headache of bootloader flashing.
Brgds - Ben

Hi,
When I tried to copy from file to file, eg from _.nb1 to _.nb1, or _nb1 to to _.nbf, or anyother combinations, I got error messages: incorrect file size.
Could anyone tell me why?
Thanks - Ben

I fixed the missing files (they were in my path from another experiment, duh...), and will look into matters more this coming week.
I blame the heat and the exhaustion of the CCC camp...

I am a little slow on this, but can I use XDATools to upgrade to a ROM image I already have on the XDA without going through SD card readers??
Well, I have 4.00.10 T-Mobile with RSU upgrade and i want to upgrade to Jeff's 4.00.10 cooked ROM Image. Now, I understand that as of right now, one can not upgrade from a 4.00.10 image to any other image without using SD Card reader. Will the XDATools eliminate the process of the SD Card reader, and could I upgrade to Jeff's 4.00.10 cooked ROM Image??
- Thanks, ..

No you can not upgrade from 4.00.10 TMobile to another OS because TM-4.00.10 has a protection that even adaptrom can not break, but if your on another OS like 4.00.05 or 3.17.00 you can use XDATools because it will use Program A to upgrade it.

Stupid question excuse me PLEASE but will XDA Tools BACKUP my pervious Rom i.e. I have 3.17 PPC 2002 and want to upgrade to 4.00.05 WM 2003 then downgrade back to 3,.17 PPC2002 with out no problem. :?:

:!: Yes you can make a backup of your current OS, by selecting Source as "Device memory (current rom)" and destination as "c:\nk.nbf" or any type of file you want. without booting the device, even your XDA is running.
:!: Yes you can make an update to 4.00.05 WM2003 then downgrade it back to the one you back up (3.17 PPC 2002) because of the adaptrom.exe (doesn't check the version and checksum).

mda crashes during radio update - any tips?

the mda crashes during the radio update. bootmenu 5.15 is accessible. but it shows gsm-error and the phone don´t start. what can i do in this case?
thx a lot :?:
Hi nasenmann,
I do not know if I will be able to help you (Im waiting for mine xda) but as you have made the upgrade? Have you made a backup (if possible, I don't know )?
More details?
Hi,
Do you have some more details? What was the original version?
What version did you try to update it to? What happened during the update? What version of WinCE are you running?
win ce version was 3.13, radio version 4.06. during downgrade to german 3.07 version freezes the mda. after soft and hardreset the device don´t start. is it possible to restore the gsm-soft on the device? :?:
I'm still confused. You are trying to downgrade WinCE from 3.13 to 3.07?
Cause I don't know of a radio version 3.07.
You say it crashes during a radio update. Why are you upgrading the radio and to which version are you up/downgrading?
If your device won't restart wince, I would guess that is broken. If the bootloader still works as you say, try to write the wince image (*.nb1) to a SD card (with our ROM Image tool) and restore from that.
the 3.07 is the off. german t-mobil version. and the problem is not the win ce. the problem is the crashed gsm section. and the sd-restore procedure with bootloder and ce was not successful.
sorry for my bad english
I have exactly the same problem, mine hung because of insufficient power (I think). It seems that Pocket PC Phone Edition cant make a proper boot if the Radio module is corrupt. Flashing boot and ce seems to be successfull. Due to the insuccessfull boot the device is unable to charge batteries, have also tried making an autostarting cab (on an sd card), which works. But since the battery check fails, the radio upgrade/downgrade never starts. The only option (without cracking the case open), that I see, is to use the GSM ROM option in the Bootloader/Flash Tools. But I am unable to locate anyone that has the required PC Monitor (and the knowlodge).
If I get any further I will post as soon as possible.
Cheers
Hi again.
As my previous post, the device didnt boot correctly. The screen calibration didnt pop up. Only a white screen with a blue title bar showed. However if I pushed the volume button the Today screen showed up. But nothing else could be done. I wrote an autoexecuting cab installer and in the latest radio upgrade (T3.19, cab format) I successfully reflashed the corrupt radio module .The previous upgrades flashes the radio while the system is up. The new flashes directly after the device has been reset. The "Disconnect Power" is no longer a requirement either
Cheers
Please please please.
If you have found a way of re-programming a corrupted GSM ROM could you tell us in 'dumbass' talk how you did it so we can all bask in the glory of a fully functional XDA once again.
Thanks
eladsalad
Sorry eladsalad, I thought I did.... didnt mean to step on anyones toes. It requires some knowledge in pocket pc and programming  .
1. Ripped a install cab application (example http://www.microsoft.com/MOBILE/developer/images/ch11.html section 11.5.6) and compiled it in embedded visual c++ 3.0
2. Save the compiled file as autostart.exe in a folder called 2577 at a sd card (which makes it autostart when sd card is inserted)
3. Place the Radio upgrade 3.19 cab file version (the newest and the one that reboots before flashing) in the root of the sd card (same filename as specified in the autostart app)
4. Insert sd card into the broken qtek 1010 and it should begin installing. After install it should reboot and begin flashing.
Note: I had to have power and a sim card inserted while flashing. Mine hung a couple of times but it will reflash if soft reset.
Good luck, post me if more help is needed.
Hi,
Very nice idea to do it this way. It is pretty similar to the GSM update through the bootloader, although you do not need a working CE that way.
To give an idea of the GSM update through the bootloader (although I never tried it ) :
This is written to an SD card (similar to the XDA ROM Image Tool):
marker that this is a GSM ROM flasher
the monitor code (S record format).
the entry address of the monitor code.
the Flash ROM update (S record format).
The monitor code is part of the normal RSUpgrade and runs in the GSM RAM and flashes the image. Because I don't like to crash my XDA just to test this, I haven't yet. Maybe we can built it into the ROM Image Tool for some to test, but it will be a little while.
Sorry to be a pain...but i cannot find a single reference for any 3.19 update on the internet. Which provider is it from?
Thanks.
3.19
3.19 is a Scandinavian only fix. They have an issue with 999 NOT dialling Emergency Numbers.
Download 3.19 GSM Rom
Anybody has the address to download the 3.19 GSM Rom.
Thanks

Can you make your compiled autostart.exe available for others to download.
I'm wondering if it will work if other manufacturers Radio upgrade cab is renamed to the same as inside your exe.

I have a couple of O2 XDA that have broken Radio's. I would be very happy to test an SD card radio upgrade.
Precision on RSU crash
Hello,
I have wanted to upgrade my XDA with the rsu_eng.exe and ruu_eng.exe files available on the 02 Ireland site. Unfortunately the upgrade have failed at 16% during the upload of the Radio Stack Upgrade Utility (before the download of the RUU). My phone didn't respond anymore. After a soft reset, I discovered that the Start Menu had disappeared. I would try to use the Wallaby Bootloader (v15) but it didn't seem to work because it wrote : GSM ERROR...
In few words : It is the same problem as namesann. Does the Chosl method work? Does it need a SD card Adapter to build the SD Card boot with his PC?
What can I do? Please, Help.
I have done all the instruction that chosl give
The url to what should be in your SD card is

It will start the file but the problem it will stop at 1% and do not do any thing and it will say

Press OK restart your device.
And keep doing this
Has anyone been able to recover using this method. I have the same problem and I just want to know if I try this, will it work. Will my Qtek boot if I write these files on an MMC as mentioned.
Is there another way to fix the Qtek. Mine also stopped during radio upgrade and now gives GSM error.
Hi.
I saw the posts, the upgrade is shaky.. hard to keep track on what versions very better and which were worse. But here is some more information about what I used. Hope that it will get a few more devices working 100%.
My upgrade also stopped at different places.. about 3 or 4 times. Also tried it with the sim card both in and out. Sorry, I dont really remember if it was inserted or not when it succedeed.
I used ROM version 3.16.13 ENG (3.16.17 weren't released until two weeks later?).
I didnt have a SD card reader so I used a spare ( ) Qtek to put the files to the card.
Best of luck! and thanks "guest" (who ever you are?) for the special thanks.
3.16.17? what is that? it exists?

Am I right in guessing that this is not Windows Mobile 6?
I've currently got the MDA Compact 3 and in the wiki there isnt a Rom available for download for the TMobile version.
Does anyone know where I can get it just in case this goes wrong?
Also would I be able to uninstall Messenger Live and any of the other software which is installed in this update?
Thanks.

I think this is not possible. For friends with CID-locked device, please be warned and prepared your device's original ROM in case the upgrade fails. Otherwise, you will brick your phone.

I had an unsucssesfull upgrade of my HTC P3300. I got hang up on start screen and had to put my device into a bootloader and flash test russian rom 1.14.411 back.
can someone tell me how to put this on my orbit please? im new to all this stuff.
Any chance of getting just the WM6 customisation without having to install the whole rom ?
I think that would simplify things for those of us with CID locked Phones.

I finally done it. I have same problem, after flashing, there was only white screen and in background I heard introductory sonnet, but screen was still white. So I tried before flashing copy "phcanOverbmp.dll" to Windows folder and then I flash up ROM. After hard reset it works at last. And don't forget install "Tom_v2.00.01_ART_patch.cab" after hard reset.

1) I had original HTC ROM 1.12.405.01 026790 WWE SHIP and I copied
"phcanOverbmp.dll" to Windows folder (replace existing file).
2) I deactivated radio module on Artemis, disabled internet connection and
firewall on notebook and started "UpgradeRom_Artemis.bat".
3) After aprox. 15 minutes it finished without errors.
4) I did hard reset, after bootsplash the boot logo went up, but freezed.
5) I did hard reset again and it worked perfect for me.
6) After succesful booting, I have installed "Tom_v2.00.01_ART_patch.cab" yet.

File Transfer Tutorial anywhere?

Out of the tens of files I've downloaded, only a few have worked for me as I have limited knowledge on the subject of transfering from PC to Wizard.
Files like this though, I just can't understand how I am supposed to transfer the, onto my Wizard as they don't want to move from the PC folder.
Here is the file I'm trying to transfer - it's actually a very useful Google search bar in the Today theme for Wizards.
Thanks for your help.
The file you're trying to download is a .cab file, right? So all you have to do is sync your phone with a computer, copy the .cab file to your phone (anywhere will do...I like to keep my .cab files on an SD card in the phone, so I have them if I need to reinstall them later).
Once the file is on your phone, just navigate to it with File Explorer (or any alternative), and double-tap the .cab file. Even though it displays as an unknown file type, .cab files are automated installers for windows mobile, and will install all the files needed for the program automatically. .Cab files are deleted automatically when the installation is completed, to help you manage the memory on your phone. You can circumvent this easily by right-clicking the file first, and setting it to "read only" in the options, but I would only do this if you're storing your .cab files on an SD card, like me.
Myrddin,
Thanks for your help on this!
Yup it's a CAB file. But when I download it and extract it, I can't physically move it from the folder it's in on the desktop. I have the Wizard Activesync File Explorer opened up, and I try to drag to file over, but when I drag it outside of the window it turns to a crossed out circle (ie, not allowed).
Scrap all the above in Italics - I tried it again and it went in fine.
Now, when I go into File Explorer and click on the setup file, it just brings me to the same page as it does on the PC. It contains all the characters for the installation, but nothing happens.
The filebar at the top shows file://\My%20Documents\_setup
Am I just being dumb?
Definitely not. The installer should handle this file for you without pause.
Just to satisfy my own curiosity I tried to install the file myself. No problems at all. It did open a licensing agreement during the installation that I had to Ok, but aside from that, nothing unusual about the install.
I suspect that one of several possibilities has occurred:
Your download was corrupted. Try d/l the one below...
Your phone is somehow locked to prevent installations (very unlikely)
Your operating system is hosed (especially likely, if not an "authorized" ROM)
Just to aid with troubleshoot, what is your operating system, IPL/SPL, etc., what is your phone service network?
Thanks.
Here's the info, hope this is what you need...

You are not supposed to extract the cab file. Transfer it without extracting it to your Wizard and run it. It will ask you where to install and it will do the rest.

Nope, still can't. I had tried not extracting it and extracting it.
Now I can't even transfer the file over again. When I click and drag the file icon turns into a black circle with an 'x' through it.
Myrddin, when you downloaded the file did it the icon show a little earth with '<' and '>' either side and 4 lines below it?
Thanks!
Do you have a card reader? Try removing the memory card from the phone, copy the .cab file to your memory card, stick it back in the phone, find the .cab file where you copied it with your file explorer and tab it to install. HTH.

No. Are you using a USB cord and ActiveSync to sync your phone to the computer? If not, this can be a show-stopper. Third party apps usually do well enough at syncing, but to open the pathways that allow for file transfer it is usually necessary to have a USB connection via ActiveSync.
What OS is your computer running? Using Vista will surely cause problems. Windows XP is good and stable with ActiveSync. Using other operating systems is also highly suspect.
Do you have sufficient memory available to install this plug-in? If your phone is full of pictures of your significant other, then there won't be room. Not being able to transfer files to your phone makes me suspicious of this, too. Go to Settings > System > Memory and tell us what you've got free for storage and program.
If you have an unlimited data plan, or if you just REALLY want the plug-in, take your phone to a wifi hotspot and download the cab file directly from this thread to your phone, using its built-in browser. Then just double click the cab file icon. It is not possible to "extract" the files from a phone. You need specialized software to crack those .cab files open, and if this is kicking your butt, you might want to wait before trying something that technical.
One last ah-ha: You are on pay-as-you-go, you have no data plan, so GPRS/EDGE network is no-no for your phone, unless those plans have changed dramatically in recent months.
Arrgghh, this is frustrating!
Thanks for your help and patience guys.
I don't have a card reader, so that's out for now.
Myrddin, yes I'm using the USB cable and Activesync on XP.
I've got about 19MB free on the phone, and the same more or less on the storage card.
I've got GPRS working fine on my Pay As You Go, through help and the correct settings on this forum.
I think the problem may lie in my PC as I can't even take those files out of the folder and transfer them anywhere. When I click on the file, here are the steps I take...
Here I have opened it rather than saved it, but I have tried saving it too, just to the Desktop.

}
Then here's how it appears on my PC...
DO NOT OPEN THE CAB FILE.
This has been said to you many times, but you keep insisting on opening it, to no avail.
Think of the .cab file as a .msi file that only works on your phone. Yes, most compression programs will open a .cab, but it's not formatted the way most .cab files are, so opening it yields you nothing serviceable. It is merely an aid to installation, putting all the needed files and registry entries where they need to be, and creating the necessary shortcuts.
If you have the cab file UNOPENED on your desktop, then right click the cab file on your desktop and choose properties, to see if the file has been set to read only, archive, or anything like that. This should not prevent you from opening or copying the file, but nothing else you're saying is happening makes sense to me either, so what the hey. If anything is checked, uncheck it all. Also, if you are not using an administrative user login on your computer, you may want to try logging out as a user, and logging back in as admin. It's unlikely this is the cause of your problem, but as I said before, anything goes right now.
If nothing is checked, do the following. If this doesn't work, I'm afraid you're on your own:
Click the link above to start the download (again)
Click Save. DO NOT CLICK OPEN
Navigate to your desktop
Click OK
On your desktop, click ONCE on the cab file, and press Ctrl+C on your keyboard
Connect your phone via USB and verify that it completes sync (icon stops spinning, no error messages)
Press WIN+E, or click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer
In the LEFT column, click My computer to expand it.
Click Mobile Device
Click My Documents
Press Ctrl+V
Disconnect your phone from the computer
On your phone, Click Start > Programs > File Explorer
Navigate to My Documents
Click twice on cab file to start it automatically
Follow instructions and let it load to regular memory (it's better to put today plugins on your memory than on your SD card, which can cause your phone to hang/freeze while loading the today screen)
You're either done, or so lost at this point that I cannot help you remotely
I don't mean to be condescending with this instruction, I just want to make absolutely sure you are doing this the way it should be done. Please report back any problems you have with this instruction. (...and to everyone else, if I missed something glaring, please post it!)
Short of all this, I can only recommend that you try downloading the file directly from your phone's web browser. It's not very big.
Good luck,
Myrddin
Well don't I feel stupid...
Seriously, it was so simple and I just couldn't figure it out!
It's on my Wizard right now, thanks to your time and patience Myrddin!
I now know how to upload CAB files onto my Wizard. Easy, innit?
Now, next is upgrading to WM6 please mate - GO!! Just kiddin'!
Really, I do appreciate your help. Very few people would go to such efforts to help out an annoying noob like that. This forum needs more peeps like you I think!

I appreciate the kind words.
I do have a habit of taking people's heads off once in a while (search and see for yourself), but sessions like this one are far more rewarding in the long run than just jumping on someone while they're down.
Sometimes, I just forget I'm in a bad mood before I start typing. ::sigh::

[ROM] [HP iPAQ 900] [WWE] WM6.1 ROM DOWNLOAD - BACK TO BASIC

This thread is for everyone who don't want to use WM6.5 on iPAQ 910. I tried to use my iPAQ with WM6.5 but I have a lot of trouble with it. The reason for that is that Montecristo and WM6.5 developers push us to use touch friendly user interface without stylus! WM6.5 is not as fast as WM6.1 on iPAQ 910. I tried every WM 6.5 ROM from Montecristo. I have to admit that 6.1 is faster, easier, nicer. Maybe is that matter of taste, but since I use WM 6.1 I am much satisfier than with 6.5. However I think that HP iPAQ is device made to use with stylus, for business people, and we don't need to touch the screen with our fingers! We don't wont to have an iphone clone in our hands. So - back to basic.
I found this iPAQ 910 WM 6.1 ROM and now its time to flash your iPAQ back to basic, to WM 6.1. Please leave your feedback about differences between those to OS versions.
Whats better?
1. Its faster, easier, simpler.
2. You have more memory to use for programs.
3. You can install many programs, they dont work on wm6.5, like Viigo RSS reader and weather forecaster.
4. You can use your stylus, maybe its old-fashion way, but its more business like than playing with your finger.
5. You are using stable OS, not OS that is under development, and you can solve any issue easy. Off course you can use microsoft my phone, marketplace etc...

Instruction:
1. Get a microsd card sized 2 gb or lower (sdhc won't work) and format it with regular FAT filesystem. Copy flash.dio (extracted from rar) to the root of the card. Insert card into your device.
2. Make sure your battery has a decent charge (over 50%) and isn't connected to any usb charge or sync cable (or else your device will just go into ruu mode).
3. Put your device into sdloader mode (holding volup+ok(button on right side) and pressing reset.)
4. Sdloader will check the file integrity, flash to your device ROM, do a clean reboot (can take a minute longer than usual) and then go into the "welcome to windows mobile, tap here to continue" stuff.

Hi everyone, I use this ROM to downgrade a HP iPAQ 910c and works!, I have 2 questions:
1. what is the weather software use in the today screen?
2. Is available a ROM in spanish?
thanks for all and congrats for this trheat.
hi
can we use this rom to change language spanish to english
If we can get rid of the darn todaysceen lines ill be switching in no time.
Atm i'm running original rom that i extracted from the iPaq RUU.
The only problem with 6.1 is actually the today lines and no touch scroll.

Thanks.
Hello,
seems i got a different version with all the programs in subfolders...
i know it's bad to actually ask but i've no choice
i'm on a macbook and the HP software, even in bootcamp, doesn't let me flash my ipaq 914c so i need to use this method... can someone post the flash.dio original from HP?
thank you,
This is custom ROM, not original. Thats the reason why you have custom folders and 3th party apps. I don't have original HP ROM, and I don't believe that anybody else has original compressed ROM in flash.dio.
bad luck :-(
Take it or leave it....

Hi zmadaric,
To have an original flash.dio. You can do the following steps
Code:
3- Editing the downloaded file from HP site.
- Download the file from the HP site. The link I used was:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...scription.jsp?
lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=35516 65&prodNameId=3544441&swEnvOID=4036&swLang=13&mode =2&taskId=135&swItem=hh-63897-1
- Execute the install. Notice that after installing, it will run the update utility.
Cancel it
- Go to the folder that the installer left the files, in my computer it was C:\iPAQ\SP40181, then you will notice that the file FLASH.NBF is there
- From the necessary software download, look for XVI32 and execute it, then open the file FLASH.NBF
- Click on the menu "XVIscript" then "Editor"
- In Editor, type: DEL 3432 then click on the "Execute" button
- It will ask you to save the script, it's not necessary
- Then Save the file as Flash.DIO.
To see it in detail. Please consider :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459123&page=4

Step 3: Customization
Once you've loaded a stock ROM, you can customize it to your own needs. You can exclude packages, add new packages, or edit some of the app.reg files to tweak it even more.
Keep in mind however that some packages are required for some core functions of the ROM and/or HTC Sense. (Ex: OEMBASE)
Step 4: Build the ROM and Flash
Once you're ready, just go ahead and press the "Start Cooking" button, this will take a while so go take a walk or something...
When the process is finish you will get a file called "ruu_signed_0409.nbh" in the folder "Flash"
This file is your ROM, it's built and now ready to be flash, this can be done in 2 ways:
- via PC: you can flash it by running "ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
- via Storage Card: rename the file from "ruu_signed_0409.nbh" to "LEOIMG.nbh" and copy it to your device to flash it from the Bootloader.

Hi,
I gave multiple tries to cook a rom, but no avail. Though, this is the first time I am trying to cook a rom for HD2, I had cooked many times for my previous devices. Cooking gets completed smoothly and even the flashing is successful, but after flashing when the device gets booted, the home screen would just not load. I can do everything else like invoking start menu or dial or whatever, but when I click on Home, the last application screen remains, and home will not load. Looks like a problem with HTC Sense? I will detail what I actully did below.
What I was trying to do was, removing three of the packages from the kitchen. So, after loading LEON_WWE.fe project, I unchecked the following EXT packages:-
1) YouTube_2_6.....
2) Opera_Browser_9_70...
3) GoogleMaps_4_1_0_....
That's it. Now when I go ahead with cooking, everything goes smooth and the process gets completed. Now, after that, I do a Task29 and flash the new cooked rom. Everything is smooth till that point except that, as I mentioned above, the home screen would not load. Please note that other than the above 3 changes, I didn't do anything else, before clicking the button "Start cooking". I tried multiple times, but couldn't solve the issue. After flashing, even I tried a hardreset, but that didn't help either.
Kindly advise. Sorry, if the post is a bit lengthy. I thought, I would explain everything.
Regards,

Please note that other than the above 3 changes, I didn't do anything else, before clicking the button "Start cooking". I tried multiple times, but couldn't solve the issue. After flashing, even I tried a hardreset, but that didn't help either.
Kindly advise. Sorry, if the post is a bit lengthy. I thought, I would explain everything.
Regards,

Hi Sir,
Can you tell me in "05 - HTCSense_2_5_20121412_1_ENGINE" package you have select and in "07 - HTCSense_2_5_X_TWEAKS"
else you check in "Start"==>"Settings"==>"Today" if HTCSense is select...
the 3 package you have removed don't affect the initiation of HTCSense...

Thanks for your kitchen. The only thing I am missing are the sense language files. Could you include them in your next kitchen so that I can change my sense interface in dutch.

Yes, it's all selected. Though, under "05 - HTCSense_2_5_20121412_1_ENGINE", four eReader related options are unchecked (which was by default). And in "07 - HTCSense_2_5_X_TWEAKS", everything is selected except "HTCSense_Remove_eReader_Stock" and "HTCSense_Change_LSK_CallHistory".
And HTCSense is selected under "Start"==>"Settings"==>"Today".
It's not that Homescreen showing empty, like when we try to uncheck the option under Today settings ("Start"==>"Settings"==>"Today"). Even the homescreen backgroud is not visible there and the screen stays with whichever last application I had opened. For example, after flashing normally the "Connection Setup" screen comes. So, when I click on the Done button there, the "Connection Setup" doesn't go away, it just stays there. After that when I click on Start, the start menu comes without any failure. But, now when I click on Home button, nothing happens, and start menu stays there. It's as if it is stuck at there, but all the applications runs, after that.
