Problem is that the serial wires are not brought out to a nice place to solder to, and you can't let non-experts solder to the SMD 0.5 mm pitch connector wires themselves.
Ofcourse the real problem to fix is talking to the modem directly from the device. Tragedy is that we're not that far off, but too little precious time...

unlocking
at my o2 store they finaly have the serial cable.. :x (s)
thereĀ“s even two kinds now....
wich will work with the manipulator program ..????
the one with USB connection on the end,
..or the "serial" connection at the end ?

Use the one with the "serial" connector on the end, as this is the only real "Serial Sync Cable". The other one is a "USB Sync Cable" which is USB and is essentially the same as your USB Cradle.

USB damaged - need diagram!

Hi All,
I put this question on MODACO (the place of how to take the JamIn apart!) for a week but got no reply - so I hope someone here can help me!
http://www.modaco.com/USB-damaged-t255421.html
I had the famous earphone-spring switch stuck & my phone always tried to use the earphone.
Thanks to the wonderful tutorial from Iain, I managed to open the case & fix problem.
Unfortunatly, something went wrong while using the hot air iron - Now I've no USB connectivity!! - It's charging but no AS connectivity!
I want to check a component placement.
there is a place for a diode near the USB socket on the PCB - there's no diode on my phone only a silk screen label indicating that a diode should be there - and I think that the hot air iron blow the diode away.
Would anyone please check his phone - post a photo of the PCB on both sides of the USB connection or send a schematic or a circuit diagram for the prophet.
Unfortunatly I don't have a digital camera other than the one on the phone
Thanks for yor help

Original Poster/Source is also in this forum. I tried to find the original link for the post but I can't. Credits to him, and if someone can find it please give a link. TY. The pics above are from a tutorial of the original poster for replacing the connector of the XDA I, but it should work well with the XDA II since that's how I'm syncing with my PC right now. Remember that pins 1-22 are left to right when your xda is facing UP (see below).
jo_iii Thanx a lot.
May be anyone can help identifying where path for pin #14 goes to? It doesn't exist anymore on my mb

Using USB Female to Female for USB HOST

Hi,
i was thinking how i can fix a cabel for USB host for the HD2
i came to this idea: a USB Female To Female adapter,
what will happen if you connect your data cable to 1 side, and a USB Stick in the other side? will it work?
here's a pic:

then i thing you should see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=638201
and see your Register on your HD2..
OR google it,
Hey Mitchell,
Unfortunately this would not work directly since the HD2 does not power the external devices currently, you would need to create a modified wire that connects the power lines from the external usb device to some other power source (maybe a pc usb socket)
but this connector could be useful in allowing you to create this wire without having to hack up a hd2 usb cable itself.

As above .
There is also the problem I didn't mention that Cotulla never released the driver for this and since Cotulla has not been around for a while now it seems that this project is suspended indefinitely.

Anyone got pics there usb charging cable?

Just bought a "brand new" HTC HD2 online and I am questioning if the usb cable is the original one. The end that plugs into the phone is really hard to shove in and fitment just doesn't look right to me. I need something to identify if I have the right one and not being scammed. On the end that goes into the phone there is an "Arrow" image and other side no arrow but oddly the only way it fits, is the arrow facing downwards.
Hope someone can help me out. TIA
PS: This is a USA T-Mobile one if that matters
Some plugs fit more snugly than others. Does the phone charge with this plug? If yes, then it is the right plug. I havn't personally tested it that it would even fit, but if the micro side of the plug is a rectangle then it's possibly a Micro-ab USB cable (but I doubt it).

Your plug should look like the Micro-B with slighly sloped edges on one side.
Micro usb like all other variants of usb, are not usually close enough in size/shape to fit any other adapter.

Jonsun 1G Can Bus connections

Hi,
I just unboxed the Head Unit for my Ford Focus MK2 and found that the wiring does not look like the very simple diagram on the sellers page.
Going from the can bus connector there are 2 wires to a white plug. One wire is green/white and one wire is white/green. I am in doubt where to connect this plug.
Further, from the can bus there are two wires going to the head unit. Its a red wire and an orange wire. The wires are split and connects to a plug. From the plug that is supposed to connecting to the car there is a socket with a red and orange wire. I am in doubt what happens wether connecting or not.
There is also an orange/brown wire marked Key2
Maybe photo explains better:

They you may answer your questions here, to help other users.
Thank you.
It need to go in the free slot in the Head Unit but it is not shown on sellers page. There is only one slot that fits so its quite simple when you know.
