Original Poster/Source is also in this forum. I tried to find the original link for the post but I can't. Credits to him, and if someone can find it please give a link. TY. The pics above are from a tutorial of the original poster for replacing the connector of the XDA I, but it should work well with the XDA II since that's how I'm syncing with my PC right now. Remember that pins 1-22 are left to right when your xda is facing UP (see below).

jo_iii Thanx a lot.
May be anyone can help identifying where path for pin #14 goes to? It doesn't exist anymore on my mb

USB damaged - need diagram!

Hi All,
I put this question on MODACO (the place of how to take the JamIn apart!) for a week but got no reply - so I hope someone here can help me!
http://www.modaco.com/USB-damaged-t255421.html
I had the famous earphone-spring switch stuck & my phone always tried to use the earphone.
Thanks to the wonderful tutorial from Iain, I managed to open the case & fix problem.
Unfortunatly, something went wrong while using the hot air iron - Now I've no USB connectivity!! - It's charging but no AS connectivity!
I want to check a component placement.
there is a place for a diode near the USB socket on the PCB - there's no diode on my phone only a silk screen label indicating that a diode should be there - and I think that the hot air iron blow the diode away.
Would anyone please check his phone - post a photo of the PCB on both sides of the USB connection or send a schematic or a circuit diagram for the prophet.
Unfortunatly I don't have a digital camera other than the one on the phone
Thanks for yor help

Well nothing very obvious. It's just a switch. Of course being internal the magnet idea works well. If you wanted to be very crude I guess you could fit a micro switch somewhere.
Why not hunt down some of the screen orientation software programmes?
Don't think you said what country you are in, but maybe someone here has a spare part or a part for sale they could send you. I have seen a few posts with folk parting out broken Hermes.
Mike
Tnx, for ansver...
I`am from Serbia....
Does that swich have any specification?
I found in one store "Hall magnetic sensor".....does he will be work with my phone?

Owners OF SIM card port Shuttle devices HELP needed

I'm trying to map the pinout of the 3G port on the vega to find another usb port and possibly add sata connectivity for those of us not lucky enough to have the 3g daughter board installed.
can someone that owns a sim card port test for continuity between the points i'v marked
green (usb) and purple (sata) against the points i have marked black
on the attached image and post your results here.
or if you don't have a multimeter a good quality pic of the bottom side of the sim card board with any stickers that may be there removed so i can try to track the traces back to the pins

HD2 has 2 different types of lcd panel. There is a thread somewhere in the hd2 fora which describes the 2 panel types, the differences between them, and the app you can use to find out which panel you have in your device. I think the app is called Android System Info, but its been a long time. Sorry I can't find the thread to link you to it because I'm away from my computer, but a search with correct keywords should get you there

He is here but slightly different problem all over the internet, I saw that they have chip on the display but I do not have it there. I have a chip firmly fixed on the board and then connected via a flex cable to the display.

As far as you want to replace combo(lcd+touchscreen/digitizer), you may buy no matter what version('cause they are interchangeable), rumours say US version would be better in quality!

TEST POINT method

Hello, everyone.
I have something like the one in the picture.
I wanted to do an upgrade and .... bricked - only black screen.
I read about the TEST POINT method. I found this point on my board and. what next? I've read that I have to short it with GND - but for how long? with power on or not? if I short it with GND, can it be from power supply or some other on the board?
Can someone of you show me how exactly I should do it?
Thank you for any suggestions.
