Upgrade with SD Card - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hello,
My XDA has crashed during a Radio Stack Upgrade (rsu_eng.exe taken on the O2 Ireland Web Site). Pocket PC Phone Edition doesn't work well (I can't connect it) and Bootloader is accessible but says GSM Error.
So I would like to create a SD card with autoexecuting application (like chosl has done) to restart my installation when I will insert the SD card. But I don't have enough knowledge to do that.
If somebody could tell me what I could do or send me by mail his autostart.exe to do my SD card boot-able (!)...
I really need your help.
Gizmo

Of course
Of couse i would like to help, but just tell me what you want me to send you and on what email address, i am not very good in those stuff. so tell me exactelly what u need.
Hope this helps

I thougt that jou must place your nb.nbf file on de sd card.
But you can also try the love rom to reset youre rom image

A tale of woe!

So I see today that using XDArit to write the rom image to sd disk erases the disk, harrumph! I wondered where all my stuff went! No problem however because everything is backed up, I've been here before. I had a lot of trouble writing from my computer to the disk, and this may be of some use to a few of you, my laptop is a toshiba satellite 5200 801 with an internal sd card socket, it doesn't work with XDArit (either version) I had to get an adapter and stick it in a usb port before it was recognised.
So, all hunky-dory? No, somehow I'd got hold of a chinese rom!! (ppc20003) now I know what ch means! I think 'duh' is the word I'm looking for. Still, I'm a trier, finally got the right rom on the right card into my xda and working, start to load all my apps, tom tom city maps, route-planner etc. This takes some time I'm sure you know, five minutes later everything has gone! Blank disk! This has happened twice now and I'm starting to lose interest. The card is a SanDisk 256meg, any clues folks?
When you insert a non-formatted SD Card into your XDA, you usually get a 'Should the SD Card be formatted' message. Did you see this message? Or did you use a pre-formatted SD Card.
You could try formatting the card from Windows before inserting it into the XDA.
It was preformatted in windows, I've only had this problem since updating to ppc2003, I think I'll go back to the xda devs rom.
Why not try to format the card using the XDA? This may be a long and retarted way, but the best way I know to get an unformatted card is to write RAW data onto it. Write an already backed up NBx ROM file onto your SD Card using XDArit. Then put it in your XDA and you should get a prompt asking you if the card should be formatted. Click 'Yes' and have the XDA format the card. Then try installing your software and see if it works.
hello i got the same problem
now i wanne go back to the xda developers versie 1.2
and i try to run the exe but i got the messeges (can not open a com/usb port use device maneger on pc to make sure that the com/usb port is available and working)
when i put the xda in the cradle i can normaly sync whit outlook ect
somebody help please
sorry for my engliche

(HELP) Tried to upgrade to WM2003

I downloaded the upgrade from Siemens web site and ran the program.
my phone is now stuck in the upgrade window and will not reboot.
Any Sugestions?
RE:
Phone will not reconect to activesync either.
RE:
Tried a hard reset and soft reset no results.
I think I'm Screwd
You need to get an sd memory card and card reader/writer, using the tools available here on the site you will need to write a rom to the sd card through sd card reader on your pc, then you go to bootloader mode and the sd card will burn the rom to your xda.
Thanks for the advise. I have a 1Gb sd card so I will get a reader.
I'm kind curious about Bootloader? Can Anyone enlighten me or point me to posts that have the info I'll need.
My computer is running windows is this ok?
All advise is much appreciated
Thanks For all the help. I fixed the Problem with the Bootloader. Finished the upgrade to A.30.09.
I just wanted to say that it is AWESOME to have a sight like this when the manufacturer doesn't have a clue how to answer many of these Q's.
THANK YOU QMAN (i got the info off one of your posts) AND ALL WHO PASS ON KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hi,
i had the some Problem after upgrading my MDA Pro to AKU 3.3 of T-Mobile.
In my case after some time browsing my MMC or SD-Card was boring slow.
After removing it and pluging it in again I was able to use ist a few minutes.
In my Case only a Downgrade to AKU 2 solved the Problem.
But now my Wifi Connection does not work.
indeed, it can by cause of this problem. i also have TMobile firmware with AKU3.3
but maybe, if in other 'brandings' than TMobile this problem isn't exist then
maybe fault is on customization files on extended rom??
------
than folowing this posibility I unhided extended rom
renamed autorun.exe , RESET... and i will test it...
results soon
Hi,
after installing the normal T-Mobile ROM with all the Brandings i installed it and made the Soft-Reset before the brandings had been installed.
But unfortunately the problem was the same. So I dont think that it is a problem because of the Brandings.
Yes, You have right. It isn't because brandings...
wishmaster270: are You use MMC or SD card? and what type/model/manufacturer?
Hi,
i am using two Cards. One MMC with 1GB from mogu and one MMCplus Turbo Card with 2GB from AData.
similar problem as well
Just upgraded to latest Tmo ROM and have a similar problem my MMC card takes about 5-6 seconds to read when viewing it in file explorer and sometimes I can't even view it in Windows Media when trying to play music. But if eject and reinsert it will show all files.
In my case it takes between 20 and 60 seconds.
But anyway it seems to be a Problem with the T-Mobile ROM.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to write a few mails to T-Mobile Support.
So, i writing email to T-Mobile support...
and waiting...
anyway what is the best downgrade ROM with working SD/MMC??
don't want to downgrade
If the SDHC patch works on WM5, would rather use it and have more storage then downgrade
Hi,
I tried the SHDC and the Advanced Storage Card Handlig.
Unfortunately both did not work.
Downgrade to AKU2 worked fine for me. But its slower and I am not able to connect to my access point.
Well... T-mobile answered for my email...
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile
[...]
it looks like that the memory card is not responding properly.
Please try the following to ensure that miniSD memory card is detected
by the T-Mobile MDA:
1. Tap the power button to turn off the screen.
2. Remove the miniSD card.
3. Verify that the card is labeled 'miniSD'.
4. Carefully re-insert the miniSD all the way back into the MDA.
5. Verify that the screen wakes up when you insert the miniSD memory
card.
o NOTE: If it does not wake up, the miniSD card may be defective.
If the memory card is not responding, you need to either format the
memory card or try different memory card in your phone. If the problem
persists, please write or call us back with your observations and we
will be happy to help you further. [...]

Hi,

Can you tell me the email adress you wrote to? I am not a T-Mobile user, too. But my MDA is from T-Mobile.
But i am out of guarantee.
I using T-Mobile MDA Pro with 'nice' big T-Mobile logo on board ;-)
Under battery on sticker i have: 'PU10' and 'HTC Innovation'.
I wrote to address: <customercare(at)t-mobilesupport.com>
from page: http://support.t-mobile.com/productSelector.html
Is possible to update this hardware with ROM of other (for example O2) branding????
i have one of them: universal_rom(o2_2.5wwe_aku3.2_b12).rar
Ok. Problem is solved.
I'm using Helmi_UNI_AKU3.5_v1.3.1 ROM from 2 days and is working very good
Hi,
yesterday i tried the aku 3.3 again because i had a sd card to test width.
It only seems to be Problem with MMC cards. Perhaps i would buy me a 2GB SD Card for about 15€.

Hello?? Please, can someone help me......not even if someone tells me that it cannot be done.....
Someone???
Do you have your SIM contacts on the HTC or your PC?. If you use Outlook for example you will find that the first activsync session you did the SIM contacts were transerred to your PC contacts (at least that is what happened with me). If they are there then a new activsync session should get them back on the HTC and you can then use SIM Manager to transfer them back onto the SIM.
If you have no copies anywhere then you need some data recovery software. I do not know if there is any recovery software that works on internal memory rather than hard discs - you could try googling to see.
