Of course 02 tech support didn't suggest anything, but I had some limited success using proxy server settings:
GRPS with 193.113.200.195 port 8080 (for UK users)
It works, but YM iteslf had a few problems.

I have problems using Yahoo Messenger ... but when i installed IMOV Universal Mobile Messenger .. everything works fine. :lol:
I couldn't make YM to run as well. I tried everything, but it just displays "connecting ..." :evil: . I heard it's a common problem coz it seems was designed for PPC running Win CE and a mobile as a modem and not PPPE. :roll:
I 'm using IMov for now, but have to say its interface is so dull :x ... of course comparing to what we used to see by using the PC versions of ICQ and Yahoo and MSN. :wink:
There is another universal client as well which is OdigoMessengerForce but it does exactly like YM. :? If anyone can figure out how it's working, it would be great coz it has a great interface.

on my p800 i use to use agilemessenger and i was using o2 wap and that worked. y should my xda2s be any diferent? im sure there is some proxy settings that i need to change because it worked on my p800

Yeah this used to be the case. Users can now log into msn without downloading any programs, eg proxycap, which is a tunneling prog i think.

Yes..proxycap is the program. However like i said you dont need it no more to connect to Msn Messenger and the internet can be cofiigured for proxy anyway. YOU CAN LOG INTO MSN WITHOUT PROXYCAP OR ANY PROGRAMA BY LINKING IT TO YOUR LAPTOP/PC.

also looking for yahoo messenger - all i have found is an old version (maybe for windows ce?) that i havent got working yet. it installs onto my xda iis but doesnt connect but that may be for other reasons - i cant get it to 'dial-up' using wifi and havent worked out how to change the settings on my connections to get it to work with usb connection.

Hi all, i used on my SPV M3000 (QTEK9100) to lauch Hotmail and MSN Messenger on my today's page...
Now i cannot do the same with my SPV M600 and evenly cannot synchronise my hotmail box...
Do you have the same problem ?
If not, how do you manage to make it work ?

You have to go to the MSN portal (Windows Mobile Live) http://mobile.msn.com/?lc=en-us ; you sign in , and after from the same URL on your mobile, you have access on your MSN Hotmail , I use it every day .

Download
1 Pocket MSN Messenger from microsoft and install but do not active
2 MSN Messenger 2002 and install (Will not work yet )
3 MSN Messenger 2003 Upgrade ( Should work now )
Must be done in this order or else does not work.

I have downloaded and installed the free version of imov instant message application (Jabber Client) onto my O2 XDA EXEC.
It works gr8 but one problem. When my phone goes into power save mode imov disconnects from the jabber server.
Anyone with any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this ? basically I want imov to be connected to the jabber server all the time !

I need your help because I dont find why my WLMessenger is unable to connect.
I have the last version (10.6.0034.0800 fixed). with the last rom custom black V0.9 (great rom !), with the last radio (1.64.08.21). My 3g connection is working (I can go on the net with good speed ...)
I accept the term of use

I choose the show options
and when the last part is coming, I have a popup: "there was a problem signing you into messenger. it may be the service or you may be in a place with bad reception pls try again later Retry or Cancel ?"

I think you can't connect with regular messenger via Sfr Illimythics. It's not possible via wap settings. It's only possible via web sfr but it's not free. This is due to port settings in wap parameters. The only solution will be to use sfr messenger but it's not really cool tu use.
