Anyone else have screen bleeding? - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My screen has been like this since day one. In the pictures you can see brighter back light bleeding from the top center/right, the right middle/bottom, and the bottom center/left. Also, a bit of light shines through the white bezel in the bottom center which now that I notice, won't stop bugging me.
Was hoping it would go away but I got this on Amazon so an exchange would be easy as long as it comes back in stock soon (white 32GB).
Is mine the only one plagued with this? Keep in mind that this is with brightness turned all the way up on a black screen.

Yea I have screen bleed at two spots but it doesn't bother me unless for some reason it starts to expand then it will become an issue.

Most LCD panels, which are backlit, will have some light bleed around the edges. You can return the phone for a different one, but you'll probably have the same issue. It is the nature of backlit LCD panels. AMOLEDs don't have this problem since each pixel has its own light source.

Thanks for the input guys!

I don't seem to have this issue on mine. I can't notice anything like this when I turn on Moto Display. Is there an easy way for me to test this out?

the nature of LCD. one of the reasons I enjoy amoled as well.

I have this screen bleeding too.
I've got my device yesterday and started "Dead Pixel Test", on the black screen i saw the screen-bleeding.
All my previous devices didn't have a screen bleeding, or it wasn't noticeable like that.

Too much light bleed?

I read some posts regarding the light bleed in pure black screen under a dark environment with brightness set to 100%. However, My Nexus 7 (2013) doesn't show a serious problem in this condition but very noticeable at the top edge with other colors especially the grey and blue.
I took two shots here and do you guys think it is serious?
My Nexus 7 (2013) has been repaired for 4 times (The first time I have one dead pixel in the center of the screen) and I afraid if the Asus service center replaced a new LCD panel for me, it will have dead/stuck pixels again.

Katecca,
There will always be light bleed sooner or later. I had my N7 G1 and it light bleed too. It gets worse with time but are you going to keep staring at the corner of the screen while you play Real Racing 3? With light background colours you won't notice it. My N7 GII had excessive light bleed the first time I turned it on but after I put a colourful wallpaper you can't see it anymore. If everything is fine then there is no point in bringing it in to Asus for repair.

The lighter background color, the more noticeable light bleed. I tried RR3 and it is noticeable when I focused on the left edge.

Actually light bleed doesn't get worse over time. Unless somehow your screen gets so hot that it melts the seal of the screen. Which then means light bleed is the last of your issues.

[Q]tilting the device on below eye or above eye level make screen blue and yellowish?

Okay, so I have had my device for 4-5 days now and I noticed a strange thing when I have my device in my hands in landscape while watching pics below my eyes and I tilt it to right side screen gets blue and when tilt left yellow but when I have the device on my eye level, i.e - holding in front of my head and eye and I tilt it the blue and yellowish screen doesn't appears but when I take my device above my head and eye level and tilt it the blue and yellowish screen starts appearing again I am sure this cant be any hardware issue as if it was then why would the screen not go blue and yellowish when held in front of head/eye but when held at below head or above head screen gets yellow so the basic question is this is by any chance software/display calibration, these panels are meant to be like this (I have always had Sony before this and nothing else so I am very new to IPS) or it by any chance is hardware? has anyone else noticed this?
Anyone?

Many LCD and IPS does this. I'm not sure what the "science" is. But even my computer monitor does this (yellow on side, and white the other. Up and down is darker/lighter)
Pretty normal, but since the G2 doesn't have the best viewing angels on a phone, you see it more often when not looking directly at the screen.
Yes, this is true of the G2 as well as the lg built Nexus 4 and 5. The display is really amazing TBH although minor changes do occur if you angle the display.
The best I have seen is on the HTC One X. I don't think even the HTC One is as good as the One X display. I want to say the Iphone 5/5s display is also as good as the One X but it fails on size and visible black border/outline. For that reason, I put the G2 and the i5s on a par in second place, all things considered. The i5 is brighter and darker than the g2 but much smaller and black outline more apparent.
Lastly, sony xperia z and z1 display is really quite poor in this regard i.e viewing angles.
I do have the exactly same thing on my g2 d802.. Maybe that is how the screen is then. I ha e also wondered if this is a hardware problem, but look like more people do also have it..

Is screen bleed common? Should I exchange for another?

My MXP has yellow screen bleed in the lower right corner. I can't see it on moto display notifications but if I'm in a darker room with the screen brightness at 50% or above, I can see it on a dark background like the app drawer. I suppose it isn't a big deal and I don't even notice it in most conditions but I was wondering if the majority of us have the same issue. If it's not common, I'm within my window to exchange at Amazon. Thanks for any replies.
If it was me I would get a replacement mine does not have any backlight bleed. If you don't really care about it just live with it.
While some screen bleed on LCD panels is to be expected, the fact that you say your screen bleed is yellow sounds like an actual panel defect. I'd exchange it if possible.
Screen bleed is common for LCD screens, to some extent. It should be very slight, a whitish color, and should be somewhat even around the edges of the display. It sounds like yours may be a bit defective. Can you post a picture?

Dimmer areas of screen and uneven bezels

Hi Everyone,
I bought the Le Pro 3 from Amazon when it was on sale. I've been using it for a few days, and while I love it as a phone, I have some concerns about the display. It appears that the very bottom of the screen (when holding it in portrait mode) is a little bit dimmer than the rest of the screen. I could be imagining it, but it's like the opposite of light bleed (dark light bleed?). Has anyone experienced this? Should I get a replacement unit? The other thing I have noticed is that it appears that the bezel surrounding the screen is a little uneven, meaning that the right bezel appears wider than the left one. The included screen protector might be making it seem like one is larger than the other, but I thought I would ask if anyone else has noticed this too. Thanks!

The brightness on mine is pretty uniform, didn't notice any uneven levels of brightness in any particular region. I suppose it's worth getting a replacement over, might as well since you're within the 30 day return period.
I do not have either of the issues on mine. Maybe you have a defective unit.
Thanks for the replies. I think maybe what I described seemed a little too extreme. When I say a "little dimmer", I mean it looks like the pixels within 1-2 mm of the bottom bezel might be a little darker. It's only sort of apparent on screens with white or grey backgrounds, and would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. I'm kind of wondering if I'm just worried too much and this is part of the manufacturing process. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Screen Discoloration

Hello,
I just got my OnePlus 5, and everything seems to be perfect. I don't really mind the Jelly Effect.
But, after using Discord (Dark Theme), I noticed that the Bottom Left side of the screen and parts of the left side of the screen are more Darker/Purple than the Top Right/Right Side.
This is mostly visible in apps that have a Dark Theme, using a shade of Black or Gray. With light colors, I can not see the discoloration. It becomes very apparent when having the brightness on its lowest and Night Mode on.
Also, this is the first time I've used an AMOLED phone, so maybe its just me, not the screen. I also think it might be the pre-applied screen protector, not sure.
I doubt it will somehow fix itself. So you either live with it or RMA it and get a new one.
Such things usually happen with usage. My old S4 has a similar issue, where the top of the screen is darker than the bottom. It's hardly noticeable though.
Seems like its an issue with the AMOLED panel, there is a thread about on the OnePlus Forums:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/hows-your-screen-tone-brightness-uniformity.453457/
The OnePlus 3/3T had this issue too, I'm not surprised the OnePlus 5 has it because it uses the same panel.
