Many people have expressed concerns about the high cost of customized keyboards. Is it really necessary to get one? This time, I will continue to explain why we should have a customized mechanical keyboard.
Customized keyboards come in various types, shapes, and designs. Some are purely for aesthetic appeal, some prioritize practicality, while others focus on ergonomics. They are not just keyboards; they can also be considered trendy toys or even collectible figures and models. In addition to satisfying the needs of keyboard enthusiasts, these keyboards can also fulfill their psychological desires and enhance their hands-on skills.
The purpose of economic development is to enable humans to move beyond pure utility, allowing ordinary people to pursue a higher quality of life and possess more aesthetically pleasing items to a certain extent. The internet has connected keyboard enthusiasts from all over the world. Through the exchange of written communication, we have achieved the highest level of mutual understanding, making niche interests less niche and giving marginalized voices in society a platform to express themselves. It has also become a forum for debating ideas and designs.
I hope that everyone can have their own customized mechanical keyboard!

it may sound stupid, but for me, a customized mechanical keyboard gives a vibe , synergy or aggressiveness to typing more and more, which increases my productivity and makes typing easier as well as reducing typing errors.
i use a compact round-shaped mechanical keyboard with braille keys printed on it. I dont need to look into my keyboard; i can type as i am feeling it

What's Win CE 5 Pro plus? Looks V3ed and as said Minority Report'd and something else...looks good but with ARM11 (no particular implementation named nor any clock speed given) and 1GB of Memory + full SD card usability, a TV out and WiBro, it sure as heck l ooks like an interesting device.
Interestingly enough two d pad layouts on the slide out keyboard so I hope the screen is sufficent for navigation.
It's also 1,000,000 times better looking than the Wizard, very sexy if you ask me.
Plus T-DMB for digital TV on the go, very nice indeed.
WVGA in a screen that small is hard to believe....
Still, very cool device. Much thinner than a Wizard. I'd buy one in a minute except for the fact that there's no d-pad unless you extend the kbd. Do you suppose d-pad functionality is somehow encompassed by the two buttons on the top and bottom? It almost looks like one does left-right and the other does up-down. I wonder how softkeys work.....
If they put a phone in it it would be worth a look at, who whats to carry two devices when you can have one, I think somebody forgot the phone part.
Looks trick though.

Not exactly; it seems designed for VoIP so I wouldn't exactly expect a GSM/CDMA/UMTS transciever in it. WiBro seems to be in there for that exact purpose.

Project for developer?

Ok. So my company purchased two 7" Android tablets pre-production from China. They turned out to actually not be "real" android as it seems to be running a skinned down Android on top of Windows CE. We are looking to place Android tablets in retail locations for a pilot test. I'm looking for a developer that would be able to do one or both of the following:
1) Put REAL Android on here. It doesn't matter whether it is 1.5, 1.6, etc. but we don't want Windows running in the background for the obvious reasons.
2) Develop a VERY simple (but pretty) application for a registration process that would guide the user through entering the values for the questions we are asking. The trick to this app is we also need a way to completely lock the device down so that the user can only use that app. Maybe a hidden button in a corner that would prompt for a password so that we could get out of the app.
We would gladly send one of these tablets and let the dev keep them for their time and we would also be willing to discuss pay based on time invested. Please PM if interested. Pics of the units below:

Bump...........
Porting Android to this device is probably an insanely time consuming and difficult project. Just look at the Android porting projects for various Non-android HTC Devices such as the Touch Pro/Diamond. Takes for ages as drivers needs to be written, etc...
I think you would be better of thrashing those fake tablets and maybe do some proper research next time you buy something from China..

Samsung hires Android hacker ‘Cyanogen’

So it looks like our Samsung phones may actually get much better now!!!

Samsung hires Android hacker ‘Cyanogen’
While some device vendors are stockpiling patents, others are hunting down talent, as competition in the mobile handset space heats up. It was revealed this week that Samsung Mobile has hired one of the homebrew market’s most notorious and successful Android hackers, Steve ‘Cyanogen’ Kondik.
Kondik is best known as the creator of the CyanogenMod for Android, an after market customized firmware bringing new features and functionality to the Android platform.
There’s no information yet on whether Samsung is interested in CyanogenMod, or more in Kondik himself, but the programmer and hacker has said the move will allow him to use his talents in “the real world,” while development of CyanogenMod continues as usual.
The Cyanogen firmware caters to more than 40 different Android devices and brings such functionality as native theming, Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC), an OpenVPN client, USB tethering, and claims increased performance and reliability over official firmware releases. Kondik has on occasion received input from Google on the development of the platform and as of mid-July it had been downloaded and installed on more than half a million devices.
we already been over this..

No, bongski's pretty diehard anti-Samsung, so he's probably serious. I'm not entirely sure what place a simple link to an unreferenced article on an iPhone website paying out on Samsung's advertising material has on an Android development website, but whatever.
EDIT: Photo tagline actually reads "Apple news. Microsoft + Android fails" That's some unbiased reporting, right there.
In this case, I'm actuallly siding with Samsung. If you have a look at the press images for every high-end MP3 player on the market, even before the iPod touch (yes, there were consumer mp3 players before that), they have all used the same standing device with coiled headphones graphic. Those are the two main features of the device, so thats what consumers should see. Furthermore, you can't ignore the fact that they are both devices that are slimmed-down, lightly modified versions of smartphones with almost identical form factors. There is going to be some similarity. That does not make Samsung some slavish copy of Apple, that just means they both have the same functions to perform, and they both advertise those same functions in a similar manner.
Just my opinion, obviously.
Here's a relevant magic-eye picture for you all to enjoy

Still possible, I'll admit, but having read some of Bongski's other anti-Samsung spiels, I'm not so sure...
Being anti-Samsung has nothing to do with the fact that he's a troll. This is a pure troll-post and was created for nothing other than baiting people into being defensive and arguing. That's what a troll does.
I've reported it anyway just to get a mod to look - they may disagree. I'll shut up now either way.
Unless you want me to start trolling you OP, I'd suggest not to start this type of thread in the future.

Exquisite corpses anyone?

After the conversation in the 'Post your designs/sketches' thread where skill level seemed to be inhibiting some people from posting their artwork, I wanted to show people with less experience how even professionally trained artists don't always produce top-notch work every single time. Art is, more than anything, an exploration, an experiment, and should for the most part at LEAST be fun.
I've had the GT-N8013 for a week now, and most of the stuff I've done on it are still 'just' doodles. Some of them are 'dead ends'.
So, with the hopes of engendering a spirit of cooperation, contribution and community among ALL skill levels, LET'S PLAY EXQUISITE CORPSES!!!
for anyone wondering wtf I'm talking about, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse here's the Wikipedia entry.
Suggested thread rules:
1) if you post work, do so under the GPL. IN OTHER WORDS: don't post work you feel is your IP knowing it will be modified, copied and reworked. We don't want to start an IP war on XDA.
2)if you take work from another artist, please post back your mods to the original...
3)if someone (OP, original artist, friends, boss etc) think an exquisite corpse has commercial value, credit and work out royalties with ALL contributors...
4) we all have PS touch, so keep your own work on layers as to not destroy original content.
I really think we could learn alot from each other, explore collectively the capabilities of this tablet, and in general have alot of fun.
here are my current doodles:

PLEASE don't let skill level stop you! Creativity is superior to skill!
