Battery life been bad for over 2 years (with very light usage) - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5g Questions & Answers

Had this 3 years now, at first for the first month or two the battery life was great, I disable data, nfc, location, Google auto sync, turn on battery saver most of the time
After that period the battery was lucky to last 5 or 6 days, which may sound good but it was double that when I first got it.
Installed various custom roms over the years (and Im sure I have installed different kernels too but I can't find any on here so may be mixed up with my other phone)
No difference.
Most recently about 2 months ago changed to Official Lineage Android 12 and again for first charge or two it was fine then battery was lucky to last 4 days.
Most recently I charged overnight and had everything turned off (though literally just before I started this thread noticed NFC was enabled) it was 100% for first few hours, then 99 after I did a quick data enable and looked at something, then went down to 98, then 97 shortly after despite data being disabled.
I also took 2 photos.
Looked at my phone 20 minutes ago and it was down to 15% and now its 12%, a reboot didn't change it.
Only other thing I think it can be is about 6 weeks ago I changed what charger I used, used to use a PD charger, can't remember wattage but it wasn't the weakest and just now changed to a higher wattage one that I had in a drawer for a long time as the removable head was broken, I used to use a cable from a Oneplus 7t Pro now I use the one that came with the charger so it could also be a dodgy cable however this same cable chargers my Oneplus and that lasted 10 days even with checking the internet a few times, unless my Mi Mix doesn't like the charger and/or cable.
Any ideas?

Sometimes when I fix phones with battery drain by doing factory reset, their battery life increase. Maybe it just apps or personalized setting, Do a factory reset. Be sure to back up you files.

Momax X-Level battery damaged?

hey,
i have also bought this X-Level battery from Momax. I just received it one and an half week ago.
At first the battery did run very well.
I charged and discharged the battery for three times (completly) as recommended in the manual.
Yesterday, at the beginning of third day of usage without a recharge the battery status stated 60% remaining. When I have tried to do a phone call and thew other person responded my call - I could not here anything. I have tried to do 10 phone calls and received three incoming calls. The phone did not make any noise. After all I have done a softreset. Then the battery stated 1% left and my phone switched off automatically.
It noticed this " wrong battery status effect" with this battery for severall times now. It states the for example 40% for more then 4-6 hours.
After a soft-reset there are only 15% remaining.
The effect doesn't occur only in the touch flo top bar. When I go to my battery settings it states the same.
With my normal htc battery I have never noticed this effect. Since Yesterday I'm using my orginal battery again to determine if this is a battery or a phone problem. Since yesterday the battery status drains as just as normal(fast :-().
Has anyone the same problem with this battery?
Thank for your feedback in advance.
I use Monax X-level battery for 3 week, and till now everything is normal.
i bought it when it released.
about 2 months from now. everything works like a charm
longer standby than the HTC original battery
I bought the X-level momax battery as well and like eraz0r it worked for about a week and now has started mucking about.
First time I noticed was my phone had switched off, thought I had just forgot to charge it as it wouldn't switch on.
Put the original battery back in phone started up fine. Put the momax battery in and it still didn't turn on, so I connected the charger and within five minutes it was back to working and showing 70% charge. Took the charger out and it lasted about five minutes before it turned off.
Took the momax battery out and chucked it in the bin..
I did notice that there are two contacts on the original battery which connect to two pads on the phone. These contacts are not on the momax battery.

Especially his last sentence could maybe be important? I have compared these two batteries now as well. I noticed the same missing contacts. I thought of removing the colored momax label from the battery. While I had been trying to remove it, I saw that there is the blank battery behind it. The contacts on the back of the battery seem to be missing or there are 1cm above the orginal ones behind the label. There seems to be a little squared hole ????
Does anybody know the usage of this contacts and maybe why they could be missing`?

I'll stick to the original battery
I've experienced an exploding battery. Some cheapo counterfeit Duracells that went BOOM one night when I was sleeping. I found the battery stuck on the ceiling completely burnt out.
I would recommend to everyone to stay away from cheapo "china" LiIon batteries.
If you don't know *for sure* that the particular brand of replacement LiIon batteries YOU are buying is manufactured to industry standards with all the necessary protection circuitry and venting holes etc., stay away from them and buy a battery made by HTC, even if it's more expensive or appears to have lower capacity.
The amount of electro-chemical energy stored in LiIon batteries is alot larger than most people expect. I for one would not like to have this happening in my pocket: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCWdnjLqVWw&feature=related
(yes, this LiPoly was deliberatly overcharged but nevertheless it shows what can happen in a worst-case scenario)

ok, at first I will using my original htc battery again.
With "automated profiles" I am able to increase it's lifetime up to 2-3 days
I have also sent an email to the momax support (1 week ago). No answer up till now.
But I really would like to know why these contacts (backside of the battery when inserted) could be missing.
@mikemod: Do you have any new information on this?
Same here
I'm starting to have similar problems, the battery begins loosing charge very quickly then sticks at a certain percentage for an hour or so the again loses charge. A full charge lasts about 8 hours only. Back to the original HTC
My battery is 1.5 months old. I've emailed Momax with no replies yet.
Yes their product support sucks! There is a six year warranty but when I received a defective battery straight out of package, I emailed them twice. No reply at all. I guess i have to go to HK to get the replacement!!!!!!?

Sudden loss of battery capacity

had my hd2 for a couple of months now, battery has been ok, normally if i didn't do much with it it would probably last a couple of days.
But over the last couple of days i've seen my battery capacity disappear, today i unplugged it from the charger at about 9am, by 3pm i was down to 50%.
Of course i checked all the usual suspects, but found i have no apps running, no wifi, no bluetooth, no data connection and i had made or received no calls or text messages
while i investigate what might have changed over the last week or so, can anyone else offer some suggestions?
how is your signal where you are, if it drops from H and 3g it will use more battery power trying to get the signal back, or you could have a damaged battery
Having the same issue right here, just in the past few days. I got mine 'round christmas. Maybe the battery is of poor quality, so it looses capacity after "few" charges (remind how often you have to recharge your hd2 under normal conditions).
looks like it's solved
tried rebooting and resetting with the reset button but no joy...
i had installed a trial version of Navigon 7 last week, i removed it last night and the battery consumption is back to normal now. Strange as Navigon wasn't even running while it was draining the battery, maybe it has some process running in the background?

Weird Batt issue, then fixed itself!

Samsung Focus (wife has one too) I use it a decent amount during the day, check emails all the time, surf some, read kindle books, BT on my 35m commute home, etc. Batt lasted all day just fine all day. I always charge it overnight with the charger.
10 days ago or so, got up to unplug it from the charger, and for some reason it would not start, it was dead showing the batt symbol. I moved the charger to another plug (first one is fine though) and let it charge all day, and it finally took a charge. But for the following week, it would be dead by Lunch, every day. I googled "Samsung Focus Battery Problem" and found a few peeps on various sites with the same issue. Tried several things to attempt to fix it. (removing battery, plugging phone into charger, re-inserting battery) Nothing helped. I'd have to connect it to my work PC to give it enough charge for the drive home.
Stopped by ATT shop, they agreed to send me a new Batt for free. I was not warm and fuzzy thinking that alone would help, but it was worth a try (it arrived today) before actually replacing the device.
So after a week of frustration, it was on the charger late Saturday and all of Sunday. Monday (yesterday) I take it too work, and its all fine again? By evening it still had 3/4 Battery. Same today. Weird or what!
I'll save the new battery for some future day, but for now the Phone is fine. Weirdness indeed, was it the phone, or OS or what?
Anyone else run into this?
Disabled feedback
I've noticed notible battery drain especially overnight and during the day with the feedback function in the settings section enabled. When it is disabled, my phones battery last forever...ok so it last till the next day at least, I am a heavy user. The funny thing is that when you soft reset the device the feedback automatically enables itself. I don't know if this might explain your situation. It seems like from time to time my battery seems to drain fast and other days it seems like i use the phone for the whole day and barely make a dent in battery life.
Nope, all settings have stayed the same, it does check my 4 email accounts at various times, I use Cellular Data all day, Wifi only at night (home). Habits all the same. It was a wierd bug, as confirmed by others during my search. Just dang happy it fixed itself.
I ran into a similar situation for the first time today. I've had my Samsung Focus for about five months. The phone gets light usage and has been handled carefully (carrying case etc).
Last night I noticed battery level was being reported as about 20% remaining. Normally I would have expected the charge to be at about 50%. I put the unit on charge overnight and this morning the battery meter was still showing about 20% remaining - essentially no change. I moved the charger to another outlet and tried to charge the phone a couple different times. I cycled the phone on and off and tried starting the charging process with the phone off. I also tried charging from a PC USB port. Nothing worked. In fact I started getting a message that the battery power was low, turn off phone to avoid losing data etc.
I checked on the Net for known issues with Samsung Focus battery problems. There were two suggestions that seemed worth trying; one suggestion was to sync with Zune, the other was to reseat the battery. I tried syncing with Zune first. That didn't seem to make any difference. Then I reseated the battery after I had powered the phone off. When I restarted the phone, the battery meter showed the battery as fully charged.
I don't know if it's a hardware, firmware or software issue, but there were enough reported incidences to lead me to believe that there is some sort of battery related issue associated with the Samsung Focus. If I had to venture a guess, I'd guess that it might be a problem with the battery contact design.

[Q] Battery problem - suddenly turn off

It’s been a while that I have a strange problem with my batteries. I used two different batteries, both original, charged with the original charger support for the second battery (sell in bundle with it).
It’s almost two months that my phone started to turn off suddenly when the battery level is around the 30%, with both of them. I thought it was a problem related to the batteries age, since I’m using them in the last 2 years.
I tried anyway to contain the problem. As first option, I did a battery calibration. To do this I needed to discharge all the juice from batteries. I noticed that the residual 30% that I saw before the phone turn off wasn’t a fake value: it was real.
When I turn on the phone in recovery, the battery level is exactly the same that I have when phone turn off itself. Moreover, to reach 0% of battery level I have to wait a while and I can keep the screen on (always in recovery) for about an hour. On the other hand, if I try to restart the system, the phone turns off just after the Samsung logo of starts a non-sense bootloop.
Considering what I ‘ve written above, I think that my problem it’s not an hardware problem.
Does anyone have similar problems? Do you have any suggestion to avoid it?
As supplementary information, I’m running the last Italian official firmware with TWRP and root.
same problem
I am note 4 owner for 1 week now
it is an used phone (rebuy)
original rom 6.0.1 newest updates
on delivery the batterie was on 0%
first time use it shutdown at 35%
without warning
now after multiple charging and calibration
it shutdown at 20%
in 2 days I will get new Batterie and I will check again.
maybe batterie is old
Similar issue in the last week or so with my N4. Original replacement battery, 10 month old, turning off with no warning on reaching between 20-15 % charge mostly if i try to use the camera. I've put back the original battery and seems fine for now. Ordered another battery, Anker this time, just in case
Yeah Samsung carefully crafted these batteries so that they won't work any more after six months of usage of something. Mine is nine months old, the phone itself, brand new, and mine turns off at various battery percentages, sometimes its 5, sometimes its 12, I have stopped caring and I charge whenever I get a chance.
Conclusion Faulty Battery Only
Any battery poerventage is mainly determined with help of its volatage. As battery discharges this voltage also reduces. As battery grow older, we is gradually unable to handle the load as it used to when new one. Also battery life is determined by its charging and discharging cycles. It was all about basic. Now talking about note 4, being andriod fone and requres lot of battery so we usually charge it for 2 times depending on use.
The same problem was faced by me as well for note 4 at 30% it used to reboot all of sudden and thereafter bool loop (in actuality it is not as battery deoesnt handle load and it again starts to boot so no home screen). Replaced the battery with original one a month ago and now issue till date and fone lasts below 5 to 10% with 4G on and doing browsing.
So it is concluded for sure that battery problem.
Weird thing last night i experienced the same issue! And my phone is only 8 month old, i think this issue it's related to Samsung updates.. my phone did shut down in exactly 30% and started to go in bootloop i removed the battery and put it back and still the same i was about to factory reset my device for god sake ? luckily i did connect my charger before i factory reset my phone i gave it one last try and it did boot normally.
So i am not really sure what is going on.. no more updates for me unless it's a major changes

Happened to me too. I think it's the battery, I tried several batteries, some cause sudden power off some doesn't.
I'm upping my thread after two months to say that I solved my battery problem changing them. I bought a new one from Samsung official store and now I'm able to do more than 4 hours of SOT and charge phone once in two days (Red Dragon Note 7 porting). Before to change, I was not able to use any Sammy ROMs, due to several reboots and disgraceful battery life.
I don't know if the battery is the guilty for everyone's problems, but I really suggest to try to change it. Just, be sure to buy an original one, because there are a lot of genuine clones, especially on e-commerce sites.
For what regards the problem itself, I think that the cause could be the use of a different charger (Samsung, but for an earphone), coupled with the extra battery kit. Unfortunately the original adaptive fast charger stopped to work a month after the phone arrived and I didn't bother about it.
So, I also suggest to use only the original cables to charge the device.
I hope that this testimony will help someone with the same problem and, at same time, I also hope that Samsung will consider to use again removable batteries to give people the opportunity to do what I did.

samsung grand prime G530 0% battery

my mobile is 6 years old (2014) and has been working well, the battery lasted around 2 days idle and 1 day using considerable ammount of whatsapp and camera until yesterday 2020-05-02
i went to sleep and now 8 hours later the phone was turned off, i tried turning on when it booted to the system it was on 0% battery and turned off right after
i put it to charge (still the original 1ma charger and usb cable), and it charged at least faster then usual (from 0 to 100 in more or less 1 hour , should take at least 2:30 hours)
using androind stock rom 4.4.4
is there anything i can do to fix this, or is it a sign the phone is dying?
thanks

have you tried to "calibrate it"? maybe it will help you with this problem. I do not say that it will be 100% good, but it should improve this bad behavior.
