@auris1993 I'm still writing the guide out, adding more detail to it but it's mainly completed enough to try & unbrick your 8T thanks for the like btw.

Thank you for a detailed guide.
Though i've never heard of Global OnePlus 8T KB2005 with Unlockable Bootloader.
There may be some issues with getting token from OnePlus and unlocking bootloader on T-Mobile variants, but on other models is usually painless.

When you gotta bricked 8T that cannot boot into Android only fastboot mode & recovery & fastbootd mode with a locked bootloader that's impossible if your OEM unlock wasn't tick on with USB Debugging on before the brick right.

If your on global Firmware you don't need a unlock token to unlock the bootloader correct. Yes T-Mobile would need an unlock token of course.

Also when u get bricked in this state, the EDL mode can become bugged out so it's not possible to put TWRP, Sideload Firmware, or manually put the phone into EDL Mode the usual way to use MSM Tool etc..the phone becomes an absolute paperweight Which the bootloader is "unlockable in that bricked state!"

@Rootk1t And thanks man, glad you liked the guide. Did you happen to brick your 8T?
This guide could be used for other variants btw I just wrote it out for the Global version for now.

A little confused by model/build numbers and un/locked bootloader

I have a SIM free ( unlocked ) P9 lite that I got from Car phone warehouse and I am wanting to update it to the latest version ie nougat. however I am confused by all the different variations ie VNS-L21C10B360 , VNS-L31C185B360, VNS-L31C636B361 etc that are floating around. My device is VNS-L31C432B131, how can i decide as to which update to use.
Also is there a way to determine if my bootloader is locked or not?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
L31 is the 3GB of RAM version, the L21 is the 2GB of RAM one. Your device is L31, C432 means it's the european firmware and B131 is the firmware version. If you want to update tu Nougat you have to follow the L31 tutorial, and to determine your bootloader status you can do it in this way:
-Turn off the phone
-Press power button and volume up
-Your phone will boot to fastboot mode and you will see if the bootloader is LOCKED (Green) or UNLOCKED (Red)
I suppose your phone is still locked as you don't know how to verify the status
I have tried that and I only got three options.
Reboot System
Wipe data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache Partition
.
Oh sorry, you have to press power button and volume down.
I forgot that power up was to boot to recovery, I apologise!
Ive tried that and the phone just starts as normal
You can try using the computer then..
Download and install adb & fastboot minimal drivers
Allow debug USB in developer settings in the phone
Plug the phone to the computer
In the drivers folder open a CMD (shift + right click)
Type "adb devices" to see if the phone is detected
If yes then type "adb reboot bootloader"

I have downloaded and installed ADB however I only have 4 items in the Folder
adb ( exe )
AdbWinApi ( dll )
AdbWinUsbApi ( dll )
Fastboot ( exe )
There is no drivers folder
The folder with the 4 files is the correct one, open the CMD there
Thanks for helping ( and putting up with me lol ) it seems that my bootloader is locked, however FRP (?) is unlocked.

If I am correct would the revolution rom work for me on this device ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...t/24-12-16-revolution-nougat-rom-rc1-t3525138 ) or would I be better with something like this ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...t/android-7-emui-5-0-vns-l31-l21-l23-t3513816 ) or by using this update ( http://www.droidviews.com/update-huawei-p9-lite-manually-official-android-7-0-nougat-emui-5-0/ )
If you want to update to Nougat I suggest you to unlock the bootloader, flash Meticulus' TWRP and then follow this guide:

Xiaomi Redmi 2 2014811 bricked after updating SuperSu binary in recovery?

I'm not rly good with electronics etc, my phone came with root access permissions via Security MIUI app so I installed SuperSu to manage it easier (MIUI app reqiured to manually check each app to allow access), no custom ROM or anything installed, the way it happened was
1. updated supersu from google play
2. entered supersu app,it asked me to update su binary
3. I clicked yes through recovery
4. it rebooted and got bootlooped.
It's stuck at the "mi.com" screen when turning on, can't go into recovery, fastboot mode only shows an image of Miui mascot without any fastboot options. I've followed some tutorials online and got the thing below from minimal adb.

Fastboot will show that android icon only.
No fastboot options will be available there.
Now you need to perform some steps to recover your device..
Note - Your data will be wiped. Also, remove memory card (if any).
Now let's start the process -:
Download MIUI Fastboot ROM file.
Here's the link..
1GB RAM model - http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=wt88047_global&b=F&r=global&n=
2GB RAM model - http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=wt88047_pro_global&b=F&r=global&n=
Also extract this file and put in C Drive.
Now turn your PC on..
And install latest Mi flash tool. http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash
Turn your device off. By pulling battery. (Assuming that your device is in bootloop).
Go to fastboot mode (power + volume down)
Now turn your PC on.
Open Mi flash tool.
Connect your device.
Click on refresh button in flash tool.
Now, it will show some random numbers. (This is your device).
Now, select your ROM fastboot file which you downloaded and extracted.
After that, choose 'flash all' and click Flash..
It will take some time.
After that your device will be rebooted.
Voila! Your device is back to life!

I think the folder you extracted the rom must be in C:\ and have no spaces or symbols, e.g. C:\miuirom and not C:\miui rom or C:\miui_rom.

Mi A1 Bootloop after ota update and Locked Bootloader

Hi,
I've installed an ota update and the device didn't boot... it is stuck in a bootloop....
When i try to flash via fastboot, it appears an error saying that the device is locked ant cennot erase...
via fastboot oem unlock i get the error message: Remote: oem unlock is not allowed
via MiUnlocker the unlock gets to de 50% and gives an error and on its logs it says: Remote: oem unlock is not allowed
I tryed to flash TWRP with command fastboot flash recovery but the error is the same: remote: partition flashing is not allowed
Can anyone help me please??
I'm stuck on the bootloop i can't go to setting - developer - allow oem unlock option!!
Have you tried doing a Factory Reset from stock recovery?
This is a strange behavior, even if an OTA update corrupted the system for some reason, the phone should boot from the original slot.
Have you tried switching slots manually from fastboot ?

How can i do that?
Hello!
I've faced the exact same problem yesterday.
You need to force the phone to boot in EDL mode by opening the back cover and short circuit 2 pins as shown in THIS video.
After you have the phone in EDL and being detected by your PC (you need the correct drivers, you may get them on THIS thread by @CosmicDan), you may use MiFlash Tool to flash official PIE Rom, access developer options and enable oem unlock to be able to unlock your phone again.
If you wish to revert to Oreo, please use THIS guide.
Cheers!

OxygenOS 12 to 11 : BRICKED, msm: "Param preload failed"

Hello,
I tried to make a fresh install of OxygenOS 11 from 12.

Restart and recovery not working, returning to the bootloader.
I can't have access to adb.
I can use fastboot, but can't "fastboot restart fastboot", it simply restart the phone and go to the bootloader.
I tried with MSM and it failed with "Param preload failed".

I was in a similar position today and fixed it by using the USB cable that came with the phone and I plugged it into a different USB port than the one I was using. I did, however, have a different error.

Boot into twrp, then install OOS11 zip.
Some error message may occurred.
Just ignore it, reboot see if it can boot normally.
If not working, install OOS11 zip into both slot.
Change your USB cable and/or USB port. Your phone isn't bricked.
The param preload error occurs when u dont have proper drivers installed bro. Try reinstalling the drivers. Then install driver attached in this message. To install it follow the instructions below.
