If I clear all default it opens the Mi Browser instead even though the apps clearly indicate that they can be opened automatically upon using their relevant links

Sorry for late response but yes i did, I'm back on Crdroid now. MIUI14 still can't copy links to clipboard with some apps. And the camera seems better on MIUI13.

FAQs-
1- Works on MIUI8?
It doesn't work on MIUI8, Kindly update it to the latest firmware and flash this.
2- On custom roms?
For custom roms either this function is already there( if it's not why are you still on it, come back to stock guys, it's quite nice here.) or you can use the Trusted Face Unlock from google( For near vanilla roms).
3- On other Devices?
Regarding any other device, I really don't know.
4- Trouble after flashing this?
If you are facing problem after flashing this, kindly dirty flash the rom again and try this, most likely your earlier mods to firmware are causing trouble.

I am running MIUI Global 9.2 Stable (9.2.1.0 NCFMIEK).
Flashed the file and upon rebooting, I couldn't go past the boot animation (3 dots).
Though considering others here had better luck, confirming it's working for others, maybe it's something I've done prior to this that's conflicting.

Hm.. This is confusing. According to xiaomi.eu link you provided, Redmi K30 Pro has "lmi" code name (starting with lowercase "L"!), not "imi" (lowercase "I"). Pro or not, I'm fine with each. But even Google mixes all possible combinations, so it's hard to say whether it's "L" or "I".
That aside, and what worries me more, down the same page it's noted for MIUI 12: "SUSPENDED due to upgrade Qualcomm baseline: cmi, umi, lmi". Now, this "lmi" (with capital "L") indeed points to our K30 Pro in the table according to them. Does that mean this 20-6-4 version (June 4th 2020) is the last beta for MIUI 12? Or are they pointing to K30 non-Pro version? Maybe even older K30 non-5G version? Confusing.
Correct me if I'm wrong,
"lmi" is for K30 Pro, while "lmipro" is the codename for K30 Pro Zoom Edition.
Also the last beta for miui 12 for our device was 20.5.24 (at the time of writing), and not 20.6.4. In the xiaomi.eu latest thread (20.6.18), the dev stated that lmi got delayed, so I am convinced that the beta development for our device hasn't ended yet.

Correct, meanwhile I have found that was the case. Meaning OP was incorrect when said "our codename is imipro".

It seems I wrongly assumed weekly releases are beta firmwares. Now in another thread just few minutes ago I found last beta was indeed 20.5.24 as you say, and that MIUI 12 is stable now. Doesn't that mean there's no beta firmwares anymore? Btw, again, if you open MIUI 12 link from OP, Xiaomi.eu webpage clearly says that codename "Imi" (together with some other) is suspended. Explain that, I can't. That's what I tried to find out in my last post.

If your phone is the k30 pro then this comes with the China rom, if you flash the global rom you will get the Poco branding. Since the global and eea is Poco this flashes this rom, however both can be flashed on each region.
If you want similar features to global but on your k30 pro then Xiaomi.eu would be a good choice, it's based on China rom but has no Chinese bloatware.

Been using QFJEUXM Android 9 and 10 all stock versions, absolutely never ever had or heard (go through the other threads) that Google Play Services dont work.
Also, since December, using MIUI 12.5/A11 Xiaomi eu weekly builds, with no problems (related to Google Play Services), neither me nor anyvody else reported ib rhe corresponding thread.
When stating such things, fully state the name/version of your firmware. Also, if you were playing with firmwares/ROMs (out of official stock and OTA), make sure to Factory reset
Edit:
Ok, I was talking about European and Global, not Chinese stock. Don't know if Chinese supports Google
However, Xiaomi.eu weekly and stable (I also used Xiaomi.eu Stable latest A10) are based on stock CN, and Google (Playstore, Play Services, apps) work out of the box
Exact Version name for Redmi K20 (CN) where it happend to me is
MIUI V12.1.1.0.RFJCNXM
It is a stock rom (china non global) without ever done any modding. So no unlocked bootloader or root available or other non stock rom installed.
Previous stock rom was i think MIUI V12.0.6.0.QFJCNXM with Android 10 which got OTA upgraded. At least up to the Android 10 (non global) Version it had functioning google services included which could be used after installing google play store.
Seems like it happend to other non global stock devices too while upgrading from Android 10 to Android 11 to a MIUI 12.1.x version
Here a thread about the CC9 Pro MIUI 12.1.3
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/kzd2f5
custom rom Xiaomi.eu seems to insert GAPPS even if they are not included in the rom
"Moreover, Chinese MIUI beta builds don’t really include any Google apps and services which the guys at Xiaomi.eu take care of as well"

Haven't made a factory reset yet. Currently making a backup of my data. But after reading the other links i am skeptical if a factory reset can get GSF working again. Maybe i'll try waiting 3-4 weeks to see if they release a new fixed version like for the K30 5G
In Settings All Specs
Android version: 11
Android security update: 2021-02-01
MIUI version: MIUI 12.1.1Stable 12.1.1.0 (RFJCNXM)
So it's like Indian MIUI, where it messed device to point where it was unusable.
Stick with stable a10 and research what they do to make a11 daily
Maybe switch to Xiaomi.eu weekly builds, MIUI 12.5/A11, Google out of the box
Already 6 or so releases since December, stable (I'm using for daily driver), tomorrow expecting new release
You can find a thread here on XDA with instructions (basically, flash the zip from TWRP, wipe Dalwik and Cache and first time when jumping from stock do FORMAT DATA - not just wipe)
Seems like i'll need to wait a month to get a functioning phone with GMS again. Have just seen that the current version MIUI V12.1.1.0.RFJCNXM got Rolled back https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/davinci/roms-cn-stable/
Under the OTA updater the last changelog is also no longer available. Now it reads only "You don't have permissions to access the update log. Make sure the account you signed in with has the required permissions."
Maybe they will have released a new version without broken GMS by then. At least it took them about a month to release new versions for
rolled back versions of https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/cmi/roms-cn-stable/ and https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/picasso/roms-cn-stable/

Another site i found is https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/davinci/. But it seems like that site does not factor in roll backs and has all versions mixed in one list.
I am still sitting on the rolled back MIUI 12.1.1 (CN) version.
Thanks. For EEA I forgot I had to try "eea", not "eeu"
Xiaomi Firnware Updater lists also Xiaomi.eu releases
