Boot Nintendo Switch wihout Screen - Nintendo Switch Questions & Answers

Hi!
I found a nintendo switch (it was raining when i found it). I opened it up cleaned all the PCBs and everything looks fine excep he flex cable of the lcd panel and the lcd panel itself. They are broken. I read somewhere, that the Switch needs its screen to power on, but i dont know if the switch even works , so i dont want to invest any money in it at all. Does someone know more about this? Thanks for helping!

Screen Issue

resently my phone happened to be found in a little container filled with beer loong story on how it happened but it did,,,,
after taking phone appart, cleaning, reassembling.... it works
with exseption of screen we get a lil problem here:
- screen doesnt turn on at all
- if tap phone on one side the screen flickers white or shows the today screen (dialer or program folder if it is open ) for a split moment
i think i need to replace the LCD Screen... or can it be something else?
my question is where can i buy one?
thanks
PS: the only other option is saving for xperia
most likely
It is probably the flex cable that runs from the mother board to the lcd, fairly easy to replace.
you can get them off of eBay cheap.
you might want to take it apart again first and re-clean with a tooth brush and some alcohol (rubbing not beer), be sure and disconnect the flex from the lcd and be sure to allow all parts to dry before reassembling.

stepped on my at&t 8525 :(

While carrying a HEAVY 32" CRT TV my phone fell out of my pocket and I inadvertently stepped on it while wearing steel-toe work boots. The phone seemed to work even though the screen was cracked... I could get the comm manager up and push where I remembered the vibrate button to be and it seemed to work.
I put in a new LCD panel and all I got was a boot sound and a white screen, so I also tried a new flex cable with the same results. I also can't seem to get any kind of reaction out of it like before so I'm not really sure where to go next.
I'd really like to fix this thing but it's not worth putting an arm and a leg into it.
What do you guys think I should try? Anything I'm overlooking or something? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Noah

You need to be sure the new LCD is made by the same company as the old one. This is ESSENTIAL. See this thread:

In particular my post no 4.

Thanks for that tip, but both LCD panels seem identical except for the stickers, but the model numbers on the stickers are both the same. One has a larger print than the other. The number on both is TD028STEB1, and they both have a black ribbon cable.
Hmm. I just noticed. The old LCD panel says P/N 60H00037-01M and the new one says P/N 60H00037-00M. Even though these are both the Toppoly LCD panel could this mean they are incompatible?
Thanks,
Noah
Well, I think those two are compatible (bith Toppoly). So assuming the new one is ok as a replacment it leaves a couple of possibilities I think:
1
The connectors need to be re-checked.
OR
2
in the worst case scenario there is damaged to the d/pad board. A chip on the d/pad board is crucial for the functioning of the screen. Unfortunately this chip can be prone to micro fractures in the soldering between it and the board. (Even with normal button pressing many members have had a "white screen because of this cracking). Some members have found that putting a little padding on top of the chip to push it against the d/pad board can be used as a solution. (I think though, that this should be vied as a temporary solution).
Just my thoughts.

Touchscreen problem

Hello,
Was wondering if anyone could give me an idea on a issue im trying to fix with my acer tablet a500. I had replace the a500 motherboard with a a501 everything works like it should but I came across and issue with my touchscreen that theres a spot on the screen that wont seem to work while rest of the screen works fine.
For Example
Say im using the keyboard on the tablet I can hit most buttons but like the K button for example wont work as if its not detecting that im pressing the button while rest of the screen works. If I rotate the screen same spot will not work while rest of the screen works fine. I have took it apart so many times so im not afraid to disassemble the whole thing. I did drop it and I noticed were the screen connection strap has a tear in it and was wondering if that would cause this problem.
Any ideas on how to go about fixing this would be great.
If the flat cable is damaged, it's the most probable cause for the malfunctioning of the touch screen. You should try to replace the cable, or, if not possibile, the whole touch screen.

Is this LCD problem?

Okay, a couple of days have been past now. I was using my phone back then, playing a game and then suddenly the notification led lighted blue and then the screen turned black. But it's still working. I thought it got hanged out or empty battery but it didn't show the samsung logo. So I restarted it. It started and I can unlock the lockscreen but it's all showing black screen. Can't see anything. Menu, home, power, volume and back buttons are all working.
I brought it to phone repair centers and they all said it was LCD problem and I need to pay for like $100(converted) for a new LCD. Are they saying the truth or I can still resolve this?
Yes, there seems to be a physical problem.
I cant say if its the LCD itself, or a cable, or a conector, or the graphics chip on the board. But yes, it seems to be a hardware issue.
If you are able to work on stuff like that, open the phone yourself, clean the board with Isoprophyl, clean the connectors and put it back together.
Maybe that will already fix it. If not, let them take a shot.
If you are not sure about that procedure, there are a lot of videos on youtube showing you how to dis- and reassemble an S4.
First things first, Hi
Second, Only the S4 Active has an LCD screen, the others are AMOLED.
Third, You say that all the keys are working. Are you basing this on the touch sounds, or are the any visual indicators?
what reaper said... if you go ahead and get it repaired insist that you get an AMOLED panel and not an LCD, you'll regret it if you don't...

Right capacitive button not working anymore

Hey guys,
I recently changed the battery on my A2017G, I was very careful not to damage anything and to dismount everything properly.
After putting the phone back together, somehow it didn't want to boot anymore (bootstack screen, and then blinking red led with everything except fastboot).
I figured it was a software issue, since it got solved with a full EDL flash. I still don't know how a battery change could have messed that up.
But now, the right capacitive button (recent apps) doesn't react at all anymore. The home and previous buttons still work perfectly.
I flashed other EDL roms, did a full factory reset, or tried swapping buttons, nothing changes, still the right one isn't reacting.
I carefully checked all the flex cables and connectors inside the phone, they all seem as good as new, no scratch, bend or any other damage.
So my question is, could it be a software issue? Since the EDL full flash is not always doing things correctly...
If it's a hardware issue, I guess I could have messed up the screen flex cable without leaving a mark on it.
But wouldn't that prevent all the buttons to work?
I just want to be sure, before buying a new screen frame (those aren't cheap).
Thanks

You would need to buy a new screen (i.e. around $90) so I say you should start looking into gesture navigation or at least on-screen navbar if nothing works out... the capacitive sensors are affixed to the screen.
I usually had my Back button crap out, but weirdly enough it would start working either after doing a lot of pressure on it or after a reboot.
The capacitive button surely comes through the screen connector, did you check that?

Yes I did, it seems in perfect state.
My theory is that I might have accidentally put some pressure on this flex connector with my plastic tool, while trying to remove the battery.
There are no visible damages, but maybe it's just damaged inside.
Right now I'm using the MiPop, but it's less than ideal...
I wish there was a way to put the on screen softkeys back and disable de hardware ones.
Probably enabling the softkeys isn't that hard, but disabling the hardware ones... ?

Try Fluid Navigation Gestures, I'm currently on another phone with navbar and i'm using that. it's very nice and doesn't use screen space
To enable the navbar you should be on a custom ROM or at least on Chinese MiFavor, I'm not sure if it's possible on G/U systems and I recall not being able to enable the navbar on these
actually I just found that:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/themes/a2017g-navigation-bar-enabler-disabler-t3740817
since I'm also using raystef66's custom rom, I guess it's perfect
