C'mon Hotspot - LG G Pad 7 Questions & Answers

At&t V410 trying to get hotspot working with various releases to no avail.
The closest attempt was with the actual old at&t firmware that gives me the dreaded
tether_entitlement_check_state 5 after initial state setting 1
-1 doesn't work.
tether_dun_required 0
net.tethering.noprovisioning true
cm 14.1 and crDroid the on/off slider just says error without any authorization attempt.
Methinks at&t crumbs still leftover somewhere preventing hotspot usage without at&t sim.
Like the dns was still set to at&t instead of tello.
Tello sim works fine in my hotspot but I wanted value added using it in the g pad 7
If I let the g 7 select the provider I get a cool tiny 4g icon with flames at the top.
If I choose tello manually it just says LTE
Network works fine for apps, just no hotspot or usb tethering available.

Reading other reviews of the AT&T hotspot, this is how it works: you have to purchase additional hotspot service from AT&T.

Carrier unlocked
tello sim

lineage os 14.1 won't let me select a network provider.
searching fails.
I had to let the firmware decide.
Never saw that before.
Next on the hit list is CM 14.0

In previous episodes with the tello sim in other phones, there were always default APN's listed
in the cellular setup. No so with this device even with at&t firmware.
There are threads here about that with old android firmwares, some xml file that is not working right.
With CM 14.0 unofficial, there is a new item in the network menu called mobile plan.
That give me the error "tello has no known provisioning site"
The g pad just hosed up on me so I will have to recover and start from scratch.
I was going to add dun to the apn type mentioned in other hotspot not working threads.
Endeavor to persevere.

needful things?
wifi.tethering.interface=ap0
wifi.direct.interface=p2p0
neither one in the firmwares.

bluetooth internet tethering working as we speak.
typing via it now.
1/2 the fun is finding the correct pc drivers (Qualcomm)

My goal in life was using the tello sim in the g pad for hotspot fun, so partial goal reached.
Baby steps.
Maybe somebody higher up on the food chain can look into the hotspot problem now that your not locked into using at&t.
Tello is $15 a month for 5gig no taxation.Option to toss some phone action on it also for a few dollars more.I noticed running out of high speed data initially the thing is still good for email
at pitiful 2g speeds.

Years ago trying a safelink sim in an unlocked tracfone,I had to use IMSI as the MVNO type to get hotspot and tethering working. That trick didn't work this time.Tello wants you to connect to "wholesale" apn but various names will work, like:
broadband
fota
ims

CM14.0 unofficial the billing start date works backwards.
mine was set to start the 31st,not end on the 31st.
it kept track of yesterday usage but erased today to zero (the 1st of the month)

when you select usb tethering, the phone turns on the RNDIS interface to the pc but doesn't work. You can also do it from the developers menu usb interface type.

no volte,so you are limited to text and data.
Ended up going with lineage os 14.1

A real knee slapper.
The v410 will only charge when turned on.
crDroid 7.1.2 I had it off all night on the charger and this morning the battery was down to 22%

Verizon compatibility broken after update?

Hey guys, I just saw a YouTube video that was posted yesterday where the guy shows that after the update he no longer could connect with his Verizon SIM card in the axon 7. Has anybody else run into this? Mine won't be here until Monday but if this is true I'm going to be sorely disappointed. Thanks for your input.
I am on verizon with no additional problems after the update. I am still always roaming, and my signal is the same (more bars but still the same reception). LTE, MMS, SMS, Cdma all work the same.
I'm really glad to hear that. I'm not so sure the guy knew what he was doing either... Lol :silly:

Quick question for you bud. I currently have the Moto Z-Force, but I want an unlocked phone that I can root and mess around with and unfortunately this phone doesn't have that capability. Would you say this is a great alternative in terms of functionality and specs? Tia

I second this. No issues on Verizon unlimited plan after update. Always showing roaming also. Mms, sms, calls work as suppose to. All out of the box settings.

My VZW situation. Just an FYI post AND how to fix it.
I'm on Verizon, have had my Axon 7 for over a month now. No issues other than not having VoLTE, and the occasional software farts (Using Nova Launcher now). When I initially set-up my phone, I imported all previous apps directly from the Play Store. I should have known not to install the VZW apps that were previously installed on my HTC One M8 (purchased directly from VZW), but in my excitement for the new phone, it skipped my mind. Anyhow, no issues through 9/19. "Verizon" displayed as my carrier, and full access to the LTE network.
Fast forward to 9/20 (post B27 update) when one of the VZW updated automatically (I don't recall which of the 2 apps I had installed), and BAMM, "123456" displayed as my carrier and no more access to the LTE network (3G only). Later that evening, my VZW account showed my number with an "unauthorized, non-VZW device", whereas, before the VZW app update it showed my HTC one M8. I removed the SIM and shut down the phone, re-installed the SIM and re-booted....nada. Tried what seemed to be every permutation of replacing the SIM card, played around with APN settings...no dice.
My feeling is they booted me off 4G LTE once the app recognized I was using an unauthorized, non-VZW device. The steps below solved the issue (Provided by "vzwcdma" via the ZTE Community Forum).
"As for losing LTE connectivity, I've had a similar problem before, both on the A7 and other devices. On other devices, like Motorola devices, I could just boot into the bootloader and clear the modem state partitions via fastboot, but ZTE seems to have disabled that function in the A7's bootloader. So, for the A7, I had to mess around a bit with the modem mode. Download "Network" or "4G LTE Switch" from the Play Store. Open it and scroll down to "Set preferred network type", where it should say "LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)". There isn't really a set guide for what you have to do, but try switching into LTE-only mode, try hitting "Turn off radio" and "Turn on radio" (not Airplane Mode), maybe try "LTE/CDMA audo (PRL)", maybe turn off radio, switch to LTE-only mode, turn on radio, etc. At some point (I'm not sure what) the phone will reset its modem state, and should re-connect to Verizon LTE (and when it does, switch the network type back to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto PRL.
My Verizon account also shows "unauthorized, non-VZW device". Shouldn't affect anything. I've been using an unauthorized/non-VZW device prior to the A7 with no issues as well."

Good to know! I've had so many phones and this hardware looks so awesome for the price, but of course vzw isn't gonna play nice with it without some work. Looking forward to getting mine
Verizon still working fine for me.
After the b27 update I saw improved signal strength. I'm on page plus mvno. After driving in a fringe reception area, I lost lte,and I showed as roaming. It seemed to be using boost Mobile from what the phones network menus displayed. Axon doesn't have a mobile network setting for 'system b', only auto & home only. Tried both, rebooting each time, no fix. I ended up resetting phone, fixed it all. I then switched mobile network to home only, and hoping that it's done.
PS-after b27 I had to re-enable a couple settings, pinch for screen shot, etc.
Edit: it's now been several weeks with it set to home network only. I daily drive in fringe reception areas and have better signal strength than ever, with any phone/carrier combo. All is great, no more issues. Great phone!
For reference, I'm on page plus mvno, dropped in my activated sim from my old phone into the right-side sim slot for CDMA services. Then set to home only. Done.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had inputs of post update Verizon service, good and bad... hasn't been a ton of chatter in the last week. I have a phone on its way from the egg, trying to decide if it's worth starting a new sim card with Verizon and dealing with that work around... is getting the number off a display and ordering online still the easiest way to get activated?
Works great on VZW still. Love the phone.

I'd say that the Axon works just as well on Verizon as it did prior to the update, but with potentially better signal strength though I didn't really have a big issue with that prior to the update so I'm not sure (the T-Mobile SIM does seem to do a lot better post-update...but Verizon has always worked well).
I really doubt you'll have any substantive trouble with VZW on this device, especially if you're willing and able to mess a bit with some of the more advanced settings just in case a problem does arise. Here are the oddities, and I'm trying to list *all* of them!
1. No VoLTE or (I presume) HD calling
2. Voicemail appears to have to be accessed by dialing *86 as opposed to long-pressing the '1' key
3. Roaming icon is present intermittently
4. Data roaming *must* be enabled to ensure consistent and reliable data service
5. Verizon's website won't recognize the device at all in the Account Overview pages (mine still shows the last "approved" device I had with my VZW SIM - an iPhone 6S)
6. MMS *may* require a hack to get the proper APN, though I've had no trouble with this (I'm prepaid though); the hack requires a GSM SIM, so beware of this
7. 1X reception *seems* a tad weak in terms of dBm but functionally it almost seems better than my other Verizon phones (weird!)
8. Carrier label will be either '123456,' '002127' (EvDO only), or (I think?) '31000' when not using LTE (i.e., 1X or 3G). When on LTE the phone should show "Verizon Wireless" as normal
9. A SIM/modem reset may be necessary once in a great while it seems...so it's good to understand how to navigate to the "Phone Information" screen to toggle radio settings...also, I've found just SIM-cycling with a GSM SIM will often fix any connectivity problems as well...and sometimes just rebooting the phone with no SIM at all can help too (or a combo of all the above!)
If you can tolerate the above issues then the phone is great. I really enjoy it. I've found the Verizon side of things to be pretty reliable on the Axon 7, even with my endless tinkering with radio modes and other stuff, which has seemed to get me into (recoverable) trouble a few times.
Most importantly - the endless chatter on various forums that Verizon "blocks" the Axon 7 and other non-approved devices is total bunk. In every case where I've run into an issue it can be resolved on my side - Verizon is doing nothing whatsoever to inhibit the use of the Axon 7 on its network as far as I can tell (notwithstanding activation hurdles, admittedly)...many of the people making such claims seem to be speaking from a standpoint of total ignorance and it's kind of getting annoying, to be honest...it seems like the minute someone has an issue with the Axon 7, some ignoramus gets on the relevant forums/comments and claims that Verizon is "blocking" the device. Total BS IMO.
Good luck! As far as activation is concerned...I'd say it might be best to just go to Wal-Mart and buy a cheap prepaid phone or something (looks like the HTC Desire 526 has a nano-SIM and is only $37.49 on their website)...or maybe a cheap nano-SIM'd Verizon phone off of Swappa or eBay? That's probably what I'd do...But I know neither of those solutions are particularly helpful...VZW definitely makes it a bit of a pain.

#6 might not need the GSM SIM workaround anymore after the B27 update. The + sign shows up for me all the time now, even if I only have a Verizon SIM inserted.
thanks for the list guys, i think i'll give it a shot. i'm going to try to add it as a second line to my wifes plan online. is borrowing a friends imei from a nano phone still the best way to get a new activated sim for this phone?
that 526 is a predaid, will verizon just switch that sim to plan if i call in? or are they different?

found this, not sure if this is still the rule...
http://www.prepaidphonenews.com/2016/02/new-policy-may-require-verizon-prepaid.html
"It turns out that Verizon made a policy change effective 1/17/16 that requires Verizon Prepaid Phones to be activated on Verizon Prepaid and have at least $30 in airtime applied to them before they cam be used on Verizon postpaid. A Reddit user posted a copy of an internal Verizon document detailing the new rule:
Effective 1/17/2016, customers who purchase a Prepaid 4G device must activate on a $30, $45, or $60 Prepaid plan and make at least 1 monthly service payment before they are eligible to move the device to a new or active Postpay account .
Device remains locked until first month’s payment is made on their Prepaid plan.
Device is unlocked automatically upon successful first month’s payment and can be used on Postpaid plan (new SIM or SIM swap).
Attempting to use an active Postpay SIM Card with a new 4G LTE Prepaid PIB smartphone prior to making the required monthly payment, hotlines the Postpay MDN (SFO 83643) . The hotline remains until first month’s payment is made.
Customers who activate on the $45 or $60 Prepaid plans and enroll in Auto Pay, receive bonus 1GB data per month.
If account is hotlined:
Data access, outgoing calls, and text messaging do not work.
Text message is sent to smartphone.
*VZW FREE MSG: Phone must be activated on Verizon Wireless Prepaid service and first monthly payment must be made before it can be used with any other service. *
Auto-remark is placed on the customer's account.
*SIM Swap attempted: MDN Hotlined. Phone must be activated on VZW Prepaid service and first month paid before it can be activated as postpaid. *"

Dang...yeah I think you're right about this. My mistake...ugh I wish they'd just make it easy! In that case I'd say Swappa would be the best route...I've bought a few phones off of there and it's always been a great experience.

So frustrating. Before update used today Verizon in upper left corner. Switched to 123456 after update. Rebooted and it went back. After another reboot it only says 123456 and nothing I do will change it back. And now when I get an MMS hangouts tells me it needs to download it but nothing happens. I never get LTE anymore either.
Edit: not sure what I did but it's back now. Might have something to do with bearer in apn settings being lte.

That's #9 in the above list that was posted. Need to cycle the modem state of the device.
so, can someone help me with a little clarification? did ZTE ever actually disable anything regarding Verizon on this phone? i know when people quote the webinar, it sounded like they were going to. i understand that the functionality is basically all still working, but i'm wondering if maybe i'm confused on the terminology.
in this post on reddit, i heard the same thing that has been repeated by some, and i am wondering if i have my band terminology confused. is the cdma part different from the 4g lte part(and that's why it's still working)?, or is sarah just incorrect?
SarahSchmera 3 points 9 hours ago
Axon 7
Doesn't work on Verizon yet. It supposedly has CDMA radios but the radio firmware has them disabled. ZTE can't by law enable the CDMA radios because they didn't get FCC approval for the CDMA radios. They would have to pay for the testing and then resubmit the device to the FCC to get approval before they turned on the CDMA radios through a software update.
And the device doesn't have the firmware for VoLTE, HD calling or WiFi calling on Verizon.

S7 Active - Switch From AT&T - Confirmed Working

Just wanted to post this for anyone else that wanted to use their S7 Active with another provider and didn't want to stay with At&t
or wanted to use other sims when traveling.
( I have nothing against At&T, but there was a better option I wanted to use...ie unlimited 4g)
I wanted the S7 active but also wanted to switch from at&t (for me it was too pricey and again there was no unlimited 4g) so I thought I might be in a bind on options and was holding off on making the switch
(For me the bttery lfe alone made the S7 and S7edge completely inferior to the active and that at first was enticing enough for to me to stay with At&t)
However... I didn't realize how easy At&T themselves made it to switch.
I can confirm the S7 active (SM-G891A) running 7.0 nougat works perfectly on the other network. Not trying to give that network free marketing... but its the other carrier on a GSM network in the US.
Though its pretty straight forward.. I thought I would just state below
Prerequisites
Own your phone outright
Not on contract (or you'll presumably pay a fee)
You are the account owner
Go to this site
https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/
Type in your devise IMEI number and info and account email
Request unlock code
Go to your email click the confirmation (Showed up for me in about a minute)
Wait about 10-40 minutes for a second email (It says up to 48 hours but I just did this on three separate devises and they all took less than an hour)
Write down the Code provided
Turn off phone
Remove AT&T sim card and insert other carriers SIM (can be a friends, classmates, coworkers if you don't have one yet)
Turn phone on
(Pop Up generates for unlock code request)
Enter Unlock code
Done!
S7 Active free to go.
Added note:
Once your new carriers SIm comes in and If you want to keep the old number DO NOT CANCEL your line with AT&T, first insert the new SIm from the New carrier and then port your number over...
You'll keep your AT&T number that you had and automatically end your service with them. No fees no hassle as long as you met the prerequisites above.
Hope that Helps for anyone wanting to make the switch
Forgot to add, though it might be obvious I still don't want anyone to get hung up on it... you will have to set your new APN (access point names) per your new provider and or new location. It may auto populate with your new Sim card... BUT it also may be a generic APN with the new provider and not nessicarily the best 4g network.
Just Google or call your new provider and they will provide which APN is best for your S7 active on your network.
*#*#4636#*#* - To change network settings
If you are struggling with default AT&T settings:
Dial *#*#4636#*#* -> 'Device Information' -> 'Set Preferred Network Type:' -> Select 'WCDMA' or 'Global auto (PRL)'
I used to get 1 bar on LTE, now I'm getting full coverage on UMTS. I'm on MINT SIM (they are T-mobile MVNO).
I want to add, after the first week I realized 7.0 had some intermittent 4g issues (some it would say no Internet ever with full bars)
I flashed back to 6.0.1 and all the issues are gone.
Please just keep this in mind if you have issues with s7 active 7.0 off of at&t.
@Acinko thanks for the heads up on 7.0 issues. How were you able to get 7.0 on an unlocked S7 active? It keeps telling me that the firmware is up to date. (Using T-mobile service)

On t-mobile you probably want to stay on 6.0.1 and not move to 7.0 n... t-mobile is having some data issues when the phone is on 7.0
However if you want to try it anyways... download the full firm file for 7.0 and 6.0.1 (both available on this site, just search recent posts) make sure you get both so you can switch back if need e d.
And your gonna need to flash them with Odin when your phone is in download mode.
There is walkthroughs for this on this site and others so I won't repeat it all here but that is what you will need to do.

Here's the 6.0.1 file, you can down load from these links and use the password to open (which is in the third post)

And here's 7.0 n

Just FYI due to heavy bandwidth usage with these types of files the links regularly break (or really just get taken off) so you may have to search for another upload if these stop working.
Good luck.

I want to add, after the first week I realized 7.0 had some intermittent 4g issues (some it would say no Internet ever with full bars)
I flashed back to 6.0.1 and all the issues are gone.
Please just keep this in mind if you have issues with s7 active 7.0 off of at&t.

This is not "S7 Active" specific issue. It is overall S7 issue on Android 7.0. You don't need to downgrade to 6.0.1. Just delete all the APNs (make it EMPTY!) -> Restart phone -> Add APN -> Restart. Problem solved.
Any particular reason why you would go to T-Mo over ATT? I think ATT's network is better? If its cost than maybe consider Cricket?

I'm not sure about yours, but for sure there was issues with my active on 7.0 off of ATT and wiping / replacing APNS did not fix it. What you said to do was the first step I tried.
Then I moved on to clearing location through the other company and fully resetting networks.
Tired default APNs, tried suggested APNs tried manual and custom APNs all of which still lead to intermittent or no connectivity
It became to have regular intermittent complete loss of network and data, no matter what apn was on there.
Flashing to 6.0.1 fixed it and I never had the issue again. Again maybe it worked differently for others, but that for sure is what fixed my issues.

CFoote, I shot you over a pm.
So, I got a S7 active off swappa and it works with my cricket account. However everytime I make or receive a call a small notice a the bottom of the screen says PROVISIONAL FWD ACTIVE comes on. (see screen grabs). Basically if I am on the phone or have the phone down on a table and miss a call. My callers are being sent to this 916 area code in Sacramento which appears to be a general ATT (or old owner?) vmail bank. I have tried and failed to update from ATT instructions (failed to read data). And the 3 ATT reps I am talking to say I have to have the ORIGINAL OWNER turn the function off first! Any helpo or suggestions? Apologies if this really needs its own thread. https://goo.gl/photos/f7UzoQsQfS9sE2Vk9
Reverted to 6.0.1 and still having connectivity issues

I think I've tried all the things listed in this thread. I have a SM-G981a (unlocked) device. When I got it (on Nougat), I cleared all APNs and added the one recommended by my provider (mintsim). I had service for about one hour and then lost it and it never came back.
I rolled back to 6.0.1 and cleared the APNs and used the same mintsim recommended APN and still don't have service.
Any ideas of next things to try?
Thanks in advance.
Dial *#*#4636#*#* -> 'Device Information' -> 'Set Preferred Network Type:' -> Select 'WCDMA' or 'Global auto (PRL)'
My phone worked fine in Sweden with default settings, but in Romania I had to type in the above and chose LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) and then it worked perfect!
i have an s7 active that was frp and network unlocked. i am trying to use this on tmobile.
my s7 active is running android 7.0
i have a few problems and need assistance

Would this work for switching s7 to Verizon?
Would this work for Verizon or because it's cdma not gsm it won't work

G930U on freedompop, no LTE connection.

I have been battling with this no LTE case for this Galaxy S7, BYOD. This is the official US unlocked version, and works with Sprint (on their whitelist), furthermore, my wife has the same phone rocking LTE with FP right now (BYOD as well, so on sprint network), so it's compatible with FP's service.
My understanding for FP byod (based on previous exp) is that if the phone was activated on Sprint network before, the MEID and the ICCID info is stored together, so even if BYOD process only ask for MEID, as long as you have the previous activated SIM, the ICCID info get carried together, so you normally would have no problem getting LTE.
This Phone was never activated on Sprint before, so when I first activated it BYOD, so no previous SIM info, but I plugged in a compatible SIM that was activated on Sprint network before (with another MEID though). My initial activation had problem (red bar on my account summary), had to email customer service to add this ICCID. Phone passed the hands free activation and all. No problem using the fp apps, phone, sms, cellular network worked (only 3G).
I then started to do all kinds of reset trying to get LTE connection. I have done,
1.##72786# carrier reset
2. Restore APN setting to default, clear cache, reboot
3. Matching all the LTE related parameter with a known LTE connected phone (my wife's GS7)
4. factory reset
5.Deactivate and then reactivate the GS7 (by swapping devices between two fp accounts)
Now almost three months now, I'm still facing the same issue. FP customer service has been helpful doing the routine checks, but not beyond the suggestion of PRL update/reactivation. The final solution they offered was to deactivate the account and the activate the GS7 with another byod account. I did this just today, by swapping another device in this account, and then reactivate the GS7 to that account.
My very first concern is if the ICCID info has been accurate (not missing or mistaken a digit), but I asked them to verify this at least three times, nothing came back as error.
Compared to my wife's same GS7 with fp, my phone is rather slow to establish the 3G mobile data connection, for example, her phone would almost show LTE instaneously after a reboot, but my phone would be at least after a min to show the 3g icon.
Can someone share some insights on what else I could do? I just could not think of anything else from my phone side to do. A note worthy thing is, when I helped BYOD my wife's GS7, I was in the same boat of needing to add ICCID via customer service to pass HFA, and then all the reset to get the LTE. I actually wasn't able to get LTE connection by what I did, shut off the phone with 3G connection, but next morning I turned on the phone, LTE was there. Along with me, I saw multiple users who had similar no-LTE problem report they were getting LTE same day.
I'm currently in the same situation. I've even tried adding the AT&T LTE bands as instructed on this thread and I'm still maxing out at H+. Anyone know how to enable LTE on unlocked Sprint S7? Any help would be appreciated.

Visible Blade A7 Prime Z6201V on Xfinity Mobile or any other Verizon MVNO?

After tinkering with one of these all weekend, I can't get it to place or receive calls on Xfinity Mobile. I either get an error message, "You are currently out of range of the mobile network", or it places the call and instantly disconnects.
I was able to completely bypass the APN lockout by temporarily inserting an old Freedompop SIM, and the new APN as well as the ability to add/edit persisted after installing the XFM SIM. And the "Mobile Network Mode" app works fine to force different preferred networks, and even to trigger carrier provisioning, which allowed me to use TMOB with no issues, except the lack of any LTE band but 4. But nothing works except data on XFM, and "trigger carrier provisioning" doesn't appear to work.
Surprising because Visible R2s are plug-and-play with XFM, and it's a pretty decent phone otherwise. Hate to relegate it to my glovebox TMOB Pay-As-You-Go spare.
Anyone else have any luck?
Yeah, running into the same issue. Trying to get it running with a red pocket verizon sim. People are saying on the slickdeals forum the fix would be flashing the unlocked firmware. A firmware no one can find.

LG V20 H918 Phone Calls Not Working

I have installed the Official Android 11 Lineage OS for the H918 and the data seems to work for like the internet like surfing the web or sending texts, but phone calls seem to not work. Is there a preferred work for a T-Mobile network or any configurations to get the phone calls to work. When I start a call, the LTE full bars turns to Zero Bars with an x next to it and it says "Mobile Network Not Available" and then the data switches off and then back on and it's quite annoying. Can someone assist me?

mention this in the los 18 thread
Sounds to me like it might be a VoLTE problem. What carrier are you using the phone with?
I'm using T-Mobile

It really does sound like a VoLTE issue. Have you successfully used a previous build of LOS on this phone on T-Mobile? T-Mobile is going to be killing its 3G network, and if this is a new phone, it may not have been whitelisted. I had this issue with a new H918 on AT&T. When I bought my new H918 I pulled the SIM from my old H918 and inserted it into my new one to verify that the new phone was unlocked. This caused AT&T to send me a message saying my new device couldn't be registered on their network along with a propaganda message about their constant improvements to their network. What it really meant was that my phone wouldn't do VoLTE on their network, and they weren't allowing new non-VoLTE-capable phones to be registered on their network. Unfortunately, they also blacklisted my old H918. So, I had to call AT&T to get them to whitelist my old phone. I'm still setting up my new H918 as my old one has a microphone problem, and I'll use the new one until 01/2022 when AT&T kill's their 3G network. This all a long-winded way of saying you may being having this issue with your phone and T-Mobile.
I'm setting up my new H918 with LOS 17.1. I chose 17.1 because it has been out for a while, whereas 18.1 just came out, so it's too bleeding edge for me. Perhaps you should try 17.1 instead?
Annoyingly, it appears that the LOS developers may have dropped 17.1 support as there hasn't been a new build of it in three weeks. I guess we'll know for sure once the next security update comes out for AOSP.
