XBMC (Kodi) - How to easily add great Themes and Addons

Set Top Box like Nexus Player, Fire Tv Stick, or any other XBMC's capable device make sideloading or install any Add-on a pain... Therefore this is an easier way to do it directly from the servers.
Here is the video, Enjoy

Just installed xbmc on my firetv stick.
After i sideloaded, i followed ur video to add videos and its not working. When i select 1channe or oneclickmoviez the install/download never completes and just freezes. I can cancel thr download but when i retry it happens again. I tried multiple channels. I have the same issue when i try to download a skin.
Yes it some times freezes and that normal for the fire tv stick. Jute forget about it a make a cup of coffee when it look inactive it only have 1GB ram so it a little bit slow but It will work and you can load many Addons. 1Channe and oneclickmoviez have been tested and they are running nicely.

Amazon Opens The Doors To Web Apps On Fire TV, Fire TV Stick

I didn't see this posted. Sorry if it has been.
It looks like Amazon is starting to see the light...

Same thing only different:

"Amazon triples the number of games and apps available for its Fire TV media streamer"
(Triples? That means they went from two pages to six?)

Amazon Instant kind of working

I sideloaded the new Amazon Instant Thirdpartyclient APK onto my shield. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/amazon-mobile-llc/instant-video/amazon-video-3-0-63-239301-android-apk-download/
When i first tried it, it shows the same interface as on e.g. my Nexus 7. There are no borders around the currently selected items.
If you try to play a video, it loads a bit and then closes the video and goes back to the main screen.
(I invested this issue by checking the logcat and the problem is, that the app tries to show a xraycard in the navbar and i think androidtv doesnt support a navbar.)
I then looked through the files in the apk a bit and found some folders referencing a television mode (/res/layout-sw540dp-television).
So that lead me to the idea to test it with a different display density. To change that, connect your shield to your pc, enable abd debugging and open a command shell on your pc.
Code:
adb shell
Code:
wm density 321
This will change the interface of the amazon app to be somewhat useable on a tv. you see a border around the currently selected item and video playback is possible (only sd now).
Also you can't choose to play a specific episode of a season because the play-icon is not selectable with the remote or the controller.
thx ist works
but only stereo sound

Does this have further consequences for other (native Android TV) apps?

YouTube Kids screen mirroring

I'm looking for a solution for my intended set up. My three-year-old can't operate a remote or mouse so I'm trying to find a way to mirror YouTube Kids on her Kindle fire to her TV so that she can select her own shows by pressing them on the screen. She just dunked her previous tablet in her bath water so I'll be buying a new fire HD 8. From what I'm reading the newer versions can't do screen mirroring. Is there a way to accomplish this by rooting it or installing play store apps? And what kind of device do I need to buy to attach to my TV? I planned on buying a standard fire TV stick but I want to make sure.

Apple Music App on Fire TV

This is for anyone who has trouble signing into the Apple Music app on your Fire TV.
The pesky on-screen keyboard prevents you from entering the validation code.
Use a wireless keyboard and mouse (since the interface is meant for mobile devices). That on it's own won't be enough however.
You'll need to stop the on-screen keyboard from hijacking the screen and preventing you from completing the login process.
You'll need to adb connect to your device and then run:
adb shell pm disable-user com.amazon.tv.ime
This worked for me on my 2nd Gen Fire TV Cube running Fire OS 7.2.4.2. It should work on the Stick and maybe even Fire TV Edition.
Apple Music reports Hi-Res Lossless playback (If you enabled it).
p.s: To re-enable the on-screen keyboard: adb shell pm enable com.amazon.tv.ime
