Murtaza Hashwani | 3 weeks Of Fold 1 - Samsung Galaxy Fold Real Life Review

Hello Folks Myself Murtaza hashwani, I've had mine for about 3 weeks and it's been amazing. I had a Fold 1 I bought used a couple years ago for $500. I loved it so much I hadn't intended on upgrading now, although it was starting to show its age. I usually buy used phones and didn't think I'd ever be able to afford a Fold 4. I had intended on making it another year and buying a used Fold 3 or something for $500. Anyways, Fold 4 preorders came out, and I was able to trade in my Fold 1 for $925, along with an old Note 9 for another $150. So $1075 credit. Put it at about $700. Then I got $100 back on Rakuten, a free Galaxy Watch 5, a free set of Galaxy Buds Pro 2, and the free case with Spen. I sold the Watch 5 and Buds Pro 2 for about $400. So all in all, cost me about $200 to upgrade from my old Fold 1 to a brand new Fold 4! I put Samsung Care on it, and with 4 years of guaranteed OS updates, this thing should hopefully last me the next 4-5 years - or until another insane trade-in offer comes for a newer fold, lol.

Free Galaxy Tab deal updated to cover Note 2 purchases

Samsung have updated their trade-in details to cover people who have recently bought the Galaxy Note 2!
I'm trading in my old S2 for a shiny Galaxy Tab! Saves me selling the S2 on ebay.
Details here:
http://www.expansys.com/samsung-trade-in.aspx
Other phones can be traded in too.
Pity the N7000 isn't listed as one of the trade-in models
Yeah I noticed this the morning I got mine. Although now because they except more types of phone each phone is valued. For my S2 they would give £170, £180 or £190 discount towards a Tab depending on which one. 7" would then cost £30 after the £170 reduction, I have seen the Tab 2 7" selling new on ebay for £160 and can sell the S2 for over £180 easily (£185 trade in at asda when I was checking).
It might be worth checking with your personal requirements but could be better to do it yourself.

[Q] buying used note 3 with swappa.com

Hello
There is a listing for unlocked/rooted galaxy note 3 phone on swappa.com, and I am very much enticed. I wanted to know if it is OK to buy from swappa.com, and if anyone here has experience with that. Also if the listing mentioned is good enough.
thanks
Swappa is great and the seller has sold nine phones there, so I think you're safe there. I have sold one there myself and it was a very smooth transaction.
The price might be a little high though. I paid $500 for a brand new in a sealed box Sprint Note 3 on Craigslist a few months ago.

Poll: How often do you change your phones

This is a poll to understand how often people change their phones in the midst of hundreds of phones released each year.
I've committed to the Galaxy range and replace my phone when a new version is released
I always bought the latest iphones and Galaxy S on launch day... So 2 a year...

After giving Samsung a try for the third time in a few years, i'm going back to Motorola. I usually trade up every 9-12 months. Edge plan here.
more options needed
3 years and 13 months , both are more than 12 month !
more than 12 months is not accurate.
i change my phone every time a new galaxy comes out.
I am recovering addict.. Maximum of two changes in a year
Between 3 and 6 months for me. Sometimes less, sometimes more, but on average it's right around 3-4 months.
Used my Galaxy S2 for 4 months and I lost it. Bought a new S2 and used it for 4 months again. Then bought the iPhone 4S and used it for only 2 months. Then I bought the Galaxy S3 and used it for 1 year and 6 months . Now I am happy using my Galaxy S5 for 3 months.

Once a year or once every two years depending on how good the device I owned was.
Replaced the Incredible S because I kept flashing stuff on it and the internal memory eventually died, lasted less than a year.
Bought an Xperia Z and immediately bought a GS5 when I could because honestly the Xperia Z was a pile of crap, lasted about a year.
Planning to keep this GS5 until 2016 when I can buy a new droid flagship or iPhone 6S
1-2 times a year. But S5 planning to keep a bit longer. Maybe even 2 years.
But note 4 is comming. So don't know if i won't buy it. We will see.
it used to be at least once a year, but after the S3 I waited 2 years because phones just aren't advancing that fast any more.
i had a note 2 since may i have S5 and i think i will buy iPhone 6S next year

I mostly HOPE to use my phones for max 2 years hehe, then the monthly subscription ends, and I can choose a new model.
Ive been doing this from: Samsung Wave -> Samsung Galaxy S Plus -> Samsung Galaxy S2 -> Samsung Galaxy S5.
Im very careful with my stuff, hopefully the S5 stays alive, as it's so fast I actually dont need anything else after this
Each year. It is a disease. I should really stop.

Same here started this year with a S3 I was due to a upgrade with my phone carrier so I decided to go for the Nexus 5 great phone but awful battery life so I exchanged after one week for the G2 and that it's a great phone, the best one I had so far! But no sd card option it's a big no for me, sold it after 6 months and bought the S5(went for the safe option) I will try to keep it for one year

I got stuck in Samsung phones. I am slave of AMOLOED screen and SD card slot. So my history is S2-S5. I bought S5 last weeek just because of water resistance. I am fishing a lot and I had situations where S4 was under extreme tests. Once it was under heavy rain and once actually for 5 sec completely under the water, however survived both events. I decided not to risk it anymore and to buy S5. Plus bigger sensor in the camera is also a good excuse to buy it. And as always I promise again to myself that this is the last phone I will buy. How is your S5 like it so far?

Worth upgrade to Note 4 from Note 3?

Hi.
I have the Note 3 with rooted 4.3 version for over a year. I have to upgrade and fresh install of 4.4 because I'm getting issues.
I wanted to ask if it's worth upgrading to the Note 4 regarding the new sensor camera quality and battery. I don't use the S-pen and many other features. Money cost will be around 400 exchanging the Note 3 and its not an issue unless it's not wort it.
Thank you
I upgraded from note 2 and it was worth it.
I don't think note 3 - 4 might be worth it though unless you can give note 3 to family member and get note 4 on contract.
Next year I will give note 4 to family member and get note 5 on contract so that will be worth it but paying full price isn't worth it for me.
Thank you.
I will be paying half of the price of the Note 4.
I hope the camera is well improved to justify the purchase. The screen will be better but also will drain battery.

I bought a 12.2 note pro today

A 64 Gb wifi only re manufactured for $520 today on groupon. The deal will be gone monday
Excellent price! I lucked out and bought a 64 GB Note Pro refurbished via eBay for $550 a few months back.
Just picked up the att LTE version (32gb) refurb for $380, I'm excited to see what can be done.

I just "pre-ordered" P905 since the cheapest shop here doesn't have available stocks (it probably didn't sell well here). I hope to get it in a week. Hopefully my accessories (keyboard, micro sdxc and ethernet) arrive early.
I have bought 64gb wifi about a month ago for £324 from PC World UK
I picked my Verizon 32gb version for $293.50. I just rooted this. So excited to start using this.
Those prices make my wallet ache... I paid €820 for mine.. ($869, £588) (A year ago, but alas.)
850€ Here lol
Edit: About a year ago

I paid $850 for my SM-P905 about a year ago and i'm pleased it has retained its value very well. Prices from reputable sellers start at about $700. Only a $150 deprecation after being a year old, is good news to my wallet. Especially when i decide to sell it and upgrade.
I'm very tempted to pick up one of these, I currently have a note 10.1 (2012 edition) and was planning on getting the 2014 edition but then I found out about this note pro 12.2. The extra screen size is certainly appealing, what's everyone's opinion on this tablet, is it worth getting, I understand there's a 2015 edition in the works but then again I doubt I could afford the price of that if and when it's released where as the current 12.2 costs hardly anymore than what the 10.1 2014 edition costs that I was looking at purchasing initially.

BJ's
I got my wifi 64GB 12.2 tablet for $430... and the matching keyboard cover for 39.99 ($190 off the tablet, $60 off the keyboard) at the local BJ's. I was not in the market, but this was too good to pass...
Should I get one now or wait?
Do you think there will be a 2015 version of the note pro?
I just bought mine for $410 on Monday. I'm blown away by how fantastic this device is. I decided to buy it as a 'laptop replacement' which I was somewhat cautious to do given my so-so experience with Android tablets in the past (I love Android on phones but the tablet experience hasn't been great). In any case, it's fantastic.

I'm wondering the same thing Luis, but I don't think I'm going to wait. I actually bought the AT&T LTE variant used off of eBay last month and loved the device. Unfortunately, it wasn't in the supposed "Like New" condition the seller claimed and the battery life was pretty horrid. So that one's on the way back to the seller for a refund and I'm planning to buy one brand new from AT&T using the Next plan. Hoping Lollipop will arrive stateside sooner rather than later.
It's really sad seeing all of my Note Pro accessories on a shelf with no Note Pro to use them on... :crying:
I just bought a new 64GB WiFi version for USD $500.00.
After getting the LG G Pad 7 for a buck with my G3, I'm spoiled on data enabled tablets. I don't think I'll ever be able to settle for a wifi tablet again.
I've changed my old iPad 1 32GB WiFi Only with Note pro 12.2 LTE giving only 100€ to prev owner! :good:
It's a fantastic tablet!
And today is updated to Lollipop via ota!!

If there is, it will cost over $800. So it's up to you if you want to spend that much more money to have the latest tech.
