Tv Box SEI500W - Amlogic S905X2 - Wom Tv - Android TV General

Hello, first of all thank the moderators for accepting my request.
I tell you, I was given this Wom Tv box, I looked for information and discovered that it has an Amlogic S905X2 Processor, model SEI500W
2 Ram and 8 Storage. According to what I read, it is more powerful than that of Entel and of course they are direct competition.
The problem is that I can't find a firmware compatible with this model. I tested compatibility with the Roms of the A95X, M8SPlus, and the H96 Max X2
and the amlogic Burning roms reaches 1% and cuts.
Someone who knows this little box and has been able to install an Aidan's Rom?
I leave Link of the descriptions.

Need a room for a Rockchip RK3066 stick?

Just bought a TV Stick with these specs
Specifikationer:
Chipset: Rockchip RK3066
CPU: AMR Cortex A9 Dual core 1.6 GHz
GPU: Mali-400MP Quad core
RAM: 1 GB DDR3
Flash memory: 8 GB
Memory card: Micro SD up to 32 GB
WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n
Android version: 4.2 .1Jelly Bean
Bluetooth: 2.1
The firmware preinstalled is a mess. And i wounder if there is any way to install a "Universal" room whom will work on this stick.
The brand is Andersson :s
I have googled and found out lots of firmwares from rockchipfirmware.com but dunno what to take? I want as clean as possible, and will be mostly using XBMC.
There are hundreds of RK3066 sticks out there. Unfortunately there is no universal firmware. The best way to find a working firmware is to shoot some fotos of the device (also of the inside) and post them here. Maybe someone recognises it and knows a firmware for it. Good luck!
Thanks for the info.
Have not opened it yet.. I will try to do so.
It has problems with HD movies on xbmc, so i will try to find a nother rom or fix!
Try SPMC. That's a special XBMC version for TV Boxes and TV Sticks. Also try to play with the hardware acceleration settings in XBMC/SPMC (switch between mediacodec and libstagefright HW decoding).
Guess you have been shopping at NetonNet
Check the thread at sweclockers: Google for "ads 2.1 99"
I have not rooted yet, but the 4.4 rom without overlocking works like a charm on two sticks for the kids
The remote itself is worth the money...

A big Thanks to you
Thats is what i need

Choice between 2 head units.

ey,
I'm debating getting one of these two units.
https://www.carjoying.com/in-dash-g...gation-system-support-steering-wheel-con.html
http://www.in-dash.net/buy_en/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=20&product_id=188
So heres the dilemma. The joying one is a9 quad core, but only has 1 gig. Plus, while I know joying isn't high quality at least I've heard of them.
In-dash is octocore (which is really just a second set of pointless quads) a7 but 2 gis of ram.
I currently have a pugug dual core a9 with 1 gig.
Is the 2 gigs more helpful or the a9? Does anyone have experience with in-dash?
Can in root the joying or upload a newer version of android on the joying?
Any help would be appreciated!
Hello, Im pretty much like you so I've come to share the info that I've got so far
The Joying Units are the first to have Android 5.1.1 lollipop in about two weeks, this units also are under testing to have DAB and now have a cold boot time under 20 secs, you can see this on their youtube channel and facebook page, they have show everything and you can see most of the tests, also you can see many user videos with the 4.4.4 units and I ssume that in a few weeks we will see the ones with 5.1.1.
BUT this units are based on Rockchip RK3188 wich ONLY have SDK support up to android 4.4.4, Joying is doing Lollipop using a very old kernel and some pieces of RK3288 code as far as I know. so this is probably s fr s the RK3188 Units will get development wise, wich is a pitty becuse its a powerful enough chipset for car lo last long time
On the other side the InDsahnet units are using the Allwinner A83T (maybe at 2.0GHz top) Octa Core with 8 cortex A7 cores NOT 4A7+4A15, the A7 is low end vs the A9 middle end, but draws less power and produces less heat thant the A9, if well implemented this could mean longer standby times and less fan noise, the GPU is a PowerVR SGX544MP wich is a little bit faster than the Mali-400 of the RK3188, this will make difference only in newer GPS Software, the 2GB DDR3 of RAM should make good difference if you have/use many apps, this units are based on Android 4.4.4 but Android 5.1.1 is in the works with the great difference over Joying that Allwinner A83T has official 5.1.1 lollipop support and is powerful enough to have Marsmallow in the future, but so far indashnet has said that there are no plan for Android 6.0.1 yet. This Units re limited to 800x480 resolution if you get the 6.2 inches screen and 1024x600 ONLY if you get the 10.1 inches screen, wich for me is an overkill in size
And now the Big BUT... BUT so far I havent been able to find a real video, review or photo (the photos on their store are generic and low res), so, its leap of faith here for me, I would like to see youtube channel like Joying
Right now my advise is to wait if you can, see the Joying units videos nd reviews in a couple of weeks with lollipop and try to contact InDashnet with to ask for some videos... maybe if enough of us ask for it, they will put up a youtube channel like Joying
Another idea that has been in my head is to ask for new SoM's maybe Joying can fuly use an RK3288 wich supports 5.1.1 lollipop and many RK3188 HU users just need to buy a compatible SoM board with RK3288 and upgrade the software, this has been done before from the RK3066 to RK3188, but we need someone with expertise, Joying seems like the natural choice since they seems to be using 3288 code for the lollipop version of RK3188, for this we should contact Joying and show them tht there is a rel demand... thats what made them create the lollipop rom for the RK3188 in the first place
Finally let me tell you that there are a couple of FAR BETTER units on the chinese market, but they are hard to find here in Europe where I live, this are made by the manufacturer Flyaudio and use Quallcomm Snapdragon 400 (G8 series) and Snapdragon 801 (G9 series) Quad cores processors, this units can go to Quallcomm deep sleep and remain in standby mode for days, booting in a couple of seconds, this units can be seen on web stores and youtube videos and seem to work great.
BUT the stores so far are chinese wb stores or russian web stores, the chinesse web store is TaoBao, wich is actually the store from wich Aliexpress gets all its products, so I dont know why this units doesnt show on Aliexpress yet
I have ll the info and links, but cant post links until I have at least ten posts on the forum, I you want the, I'll send them to you
Hope this post was useful for you and others

Source: Mod Edit: Fundraisering link removed.
I really think the price will not be $499 on release, because is a non-realistic price for the device. Most probably the device price will down to the campaign price, that is more reasonable price in my opinion ($299)
in any case, if there is any interest on this device, i will tray to write a review to post here (Hopefully, some time before the device release on the market).
If there is any question about this, let me know, and i will do my best on trying to get info from GPD.
Zalu2!
I've removed all fundraising talk from the OP and moved this to the proper area.
Fundraising talk and links are not allowed on XDA.

Ok
Apologyze about the link (i don´t know about it)
thanks for moving the thread. ^_^
Seriously going to love this Device when it comes out
Here will be my Setup for it
200GB MicroSD
500GB SSD USB 3.0 Velcro underneath the Device
Going to have to attach Carbon Fiber Skin Decal to it like I did with my GPD XD. Would mean having to Scan every Part of it to get it right like I did with the XD. LOL
So far, the Videos of this Device in Action are amazing. A User that received a Unit for Testing (Non-Fan Variant) so far has shown some promising results.
Ultra Street Fighter IV running, but Background Graphics are Removed. But I saw 1 Video where he got a Internet Challenge on it and then a Pop-Up Message came up saying the CPU Temp was around 80 Degrees C (177 F). Max Temp for the CPU is 90C. So it does allow for more recent Games if the Settings are just right. Also was able to run Wolfenstein - The New Order which is surprising to me. Graphics seemed to be stuttering but still able to run smoothly.
There was another Test for Emulators and it seemed to run PS2 Games pretty good. I gave a list of some Games/Emulators to test how it would go for my Standards. But from what I saw in the Videos, when it has the Variants WITH a CPU Cooling Fan, it should do quite well.
The only thing going through my head right now is: Why didnt someone think of creating a Device like this YEARS AGO?????? LOL. Finally, a Windows OS, Handheld, GamePad, Gaming Device. Just have a few problems with it:
Storage Size: 64GB ROM. Seriously??????? At best, after removing Applications I wont need, I will be left with maybe 45-50GB and thats if I am lucky for 50GB. 128GB would have been preferable.
No FULL Keyboard: Not a biggie, but would be nice. Will just have to use a Bluetooth Number Pad or Bluetooth Full Keyboard if it doesnt have a Pop-up for it.
Only 1 Full Size USB. I dont need the Mini-HDMI Port, nor will I be needing the Wireless Display. They could throw that out and replace it with a 2nd Full Size USB Port for additional Storage or USB Devices.
Directional Pad and Joystick: Seriously wish they would use a Directional Pad like the ones on the PS Vita same with the Joystick. Using the GPD XD which has the same Controls, it is kind of problematic.
But regardless of those mentioned Dislikes, this Device should be a Kick-### System for Gaming. Going to love finally having a Portable Windows Gaming System WITH Attached GamePad
Just hope it will be Released in October like they Estimate :fingers-crossed:
guys tell me something about the compatibility with Android, dual boot seems the easy way but, is it supported like an old gpd xd ?
if anybody is interested in the new aluminum version of the GPD Win, here's a $50 off coupon for geek buying: EMFQNEVZ

IDROIDNATION I-BOX “PRO” ANDROID 5.1 OCTA CORE 2G/16G a peek inside.

I was curious about the Android box I just purchased so I opened the case and took a photo. The box is based on a NETXEON RK68-G_V20 date code 20150708 board. The unit has a Rockchip RK3368 processor with a 16g eMMC flash rom.
The eMMC is a FORESEE NCEMBSF9-16G chip. Wish I could find some specs on it to see if it is possible to read/write to.
It works okay. OS is based on Google TV and has a canned Kodi15 install. But the OS still looks like it belongs on a phone, not a TV although they have supplied a big block style home page .
I wonder f anyone is going to design an Android TV type rom for this box?
Here is a dmesg from this box. Thought it might be of interest.

Looking for advice on a RK3399 4GB Android box for PC replacement (not TV Box)

Hi.
My elderly mom gets lost in her Windows PC, but does OK on her Android tablet. I'm looking for a high-powered Android box to replace the Windows PC, doing mostly Skype and Mail/Web/FB/News. That rules out the mainstream Amlogic-based boxes (weak CPU, low RAM), but I'm worried the RK3399 boxes are marginal/amateurish/not well supported. The plan is to make the UI the exact same as her tablet, with the extra comfort of a mouse, big screen, and loud sound. She'll be doing he exact same things as on her tablet so I'm unbothered by Android/Desktop limitations. Skype support (so, no ChromeOS) and reliability/dependability are a must.
The Vorke Z3 has disappeared. Does anyone have feedback on the Cloudnetgo CR19 or the CSA96 ? Or at least their OEMs ?
Thanks for any help/advice.
Olivier
I agree, the CDR19 looks great. 4 x USB + SATA + external antenna, plus extra audio ports and front display.
$150-$200. I am tempted.
However what about the limitations I keep reading about RockChip? No one actually specifies what these are, and all my online searches reveal nothing, except old pre-2015 reviews of older architecture.
So what do you do? S912 DDR4 3GB? or RK3399 DDR3 4GB?
I got the $80 H96 max. It works OK as a PC once you switch Launchers (for some reason only MS launcher will install, no Nova, Google..).
The one limitation I ran into was DRM support; not an issue for PC use, but I'd avoid it as a media player/HTPC.
Performance, reliability, features are otherwise fine.
I got this one it works great as a pc/tablet or tv box it runs well with a 2.4ghz keyboard and mouse

I got her https://www.geekbuying.com/item/H96-MAX-Rockchip-RK3399-Hexa-Core-64bit-4G-32G-4K-TV-BOX-379059.html after seeing it was the most mentioned on several forums. Once I replaced the default TV Launcher with a more normal one (strangely, only MS Launcher would install, most would bug out), she's happy with it, it's stable and runs the double-handful of apps she needs (Skype etc...). Got it on sale for $100-ish.
Go 912s, 905x2, or wait for the 922
Freaktab Com is your support local. Look for developers magendanz or superceleron.
This is a MUST! Support, support and support.
I have an n6 Max Buy magicsee, I love it ... yet it's the most unstable platform I have ever run!
The cloudnetgo is a dynamic promising device, I'd like to have one. Still supported minimal, don't do it. My little mecool m8s Pro with a magendanz custom ROM is a powerful fast extremely stable device. The pro L model comes with enhanced DRM abilities, meaningful high-def capability for streaming. I truly suggest you go look at the developers first. Look for the boxes I support. And you're better off to stay with an amlogic SOC, they just a wider and deeper support base. The amlogic S922 will be out shortly, and it'll be the best thing available oh, I am sure. Yet it will take awhile for support and custom roms to be available. That's my two cents, good luck
