[Q] I am new here Please help. (Samsung Galaxy S4 GT i9400)

Hi Team,
I on a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT i9400 running on (Hassan Version V6.0) 4.4.2 .
I installed a custom ROM (Hassan Version V6.0) and i a few issue and i am not sure how to fix this.
1) The mute switch when on call is missing "Should i try installing a new customer ROM for it or can i fix it ?"
2) My battery life is really bad on the device "Not even a hour i understand the team worked hard for developing the ROM, but it would really nice if someone comes up with a fix for it"
3) I also want to know what are the different types of ROM i read on some forum there different types of ROM i.e, Milestone, Stable etc. "Can i also know the their spec too so it would be easier for me to download the best one i want/like"
4) if i on a customer ROM 4.4.2/4.4.3 without Gapps. Should i install Gapps 4.4.2/4.4.3 on it or is it really not important.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Tarun.
@Tarun.B
1) try another ROM if it's that important to you
2) it depends on how you use it and what processes are running in the background : try greenify
3)
a) I refer you to the CM teams about page http://www.cyanogenmod.org/about
b)what do you mean by spec? and if you're talking about the features please Read the details of the ROM yourself
(there are important details about installation ... bugs .....etc)
4)it depends on the ROM if it's a stock TW ROM then you really don't need to flash a seperate Gapps package (unless stated) as they come packaged with the ROM or if on AOSP(PA,CM,AOKP) most of the time you need to download a seperate gapps package I.E. Play Store,Maps.... etc (basically if you like to install applications and/or like to use your android phone then yes it is necessary)
note: snapshots have replaced Stable and RC and M builds so snapshots and nightly builds are what you should look for...... :good:
P.S. if I helped you hit the :good: button on the bottom left

@nick123ablxx32,
Thank you for you reply.
1) try another ROM if it's that important to you---- I am actually working in company, too many Conference calls which would really need a mute switch for me.
2) it depends on how you use it and what processes are running in the background : try greenify ----------------(I will try this thnx )
3.b) what do you mean by spec?-------------- i am sorry if you got me wrong i meant if the ROM say Stable/Nite___ what does that mean so that i learn about ROMs
4) Arrow ROM v13.0.0 | Fast | Stable | Smooth | Best Battery Life | Custom Settings will this be compatible for my device-- If you don't mind can you give me download link for V13.0.0 because i am really not sure were the download link is on the page.
Thank

Hi,
I'll get that you typed wrong in the OP and your device isn't i9400 but i9500 .
1 - Well then, the best would be check for other ROM indeed, I never used it so I don't really know any that have this feature.
2 - Another thing you should try doing is turning off sync, 3G/WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, sensors (eye tracking, etc) when possible, and if you're on a Touchwiz based ROM, enable power saving mode. Don't forget to also charge your device correctly, using the factory charger and always when possible full charging it!
3 - Stable: The ROM shows no bugs at all, and is usable as daily driver without any issues.
Release Candidate (RC): The ROM is a possible stable version.
Snapshot: This usually built once every month and is more stable than Nightly. Has latest features.
Nightlies: Are the first ROMs to have the features, but may be unstable and might lead to a brick.
In stability order:
Stable >= RC > Snapshot > Nightly.
Recently Snapshots are considered the most updated and also stable, due to others almost not being released anymore. So if you want the best I'd recommend a Snapshot.
4 - The download links are in the second post. Make sure you read the ENTIRE OP!!! (Here's it anyway: http://sh.st/eHFAb)

ART Submodule for AOSP 7.1.2 Adds Xposed Functionality to Nougat Custom ROMs

Yes, what you have read is right, now nougat ROMs can support Xposed module, but not like previous one we can easily flash on current ROMs etc, it can only available when devs started adds art submodule at building process of a ROM, so we need to wait until the devs releases latest version of rom which includes art submodule
Link for that article:

Well the xposed modules also need to add nougat support. The framework alone is useless.
Btw @Mohan Sai
There is no use posting anything in guides sections. People only see the roms section. :crying:

Good Custom rom for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100

I'm sure this has been asked multiple times but I still am unable to get a good rom for this tablet that allows it to run somewhat decent. I mostly want to use it with Discord VC, Youtube and some other video streaming services. Maybe some web browsing as well. This tablet has just been sitting around for quiet a while so I plan to wipe it and since Samsungs official Rom is based on Android 4.2 (not sure how many apps still support that old a version) I would like to custom rom it. Any ideas?
You'd have to go with the Android 6 based custom roms if if you plan to use it long term. Android 7 based custom roms exist but they're laggy as heck.
I'd recommend SlimRoms 6 or OmniROMS 6 in terms of stability.
Been using Omni Rom 6, treated my device well. It also has Tablet layout for navigation buttons, which makes navigating easier in a wide tablet. Battery lasts very long if you don't use the device for some months.
But still, I also want to try out other Roms this time for Nougat, any recommendations?

Yeah, I guess I'll just stay with lower android versions (Marshmallow).
In your opinion, is it worth it to downgrade to Kitkat or Lollipop? I remember those have some ram leakage or security issues?
I'm also gonna install Xposed. I'm outdated with the latest news right now, should I use the old Xposed from Magisk or the EdXposed?
EdXposed only for higher Android versions?

About LP/KK many apps wont support it and i think they no more get security updates if i remember correctly.
Also i no more use xposed (as i dont use the tab as much as i used to) but for marshmallow normal xposed should work fine. I normally use Magisk for root and its modules

I see, makes sense. For me, I still have to use Xposed for Xposed edge gestures of power and volume buttons. They'll soon stop working if I continue using hardware keys.
By the way, have you tried the Anykernel OC-UV version by Android-Andi?

the best one for me is OmniRoms 6.0. It is really stable for my Samsung P5100. It does not even stutter nor lag even GAPPS is installed. Here is the list I tried and it LAG so hard:
- Lineage OS 14 (Android 7.1.2 Nougat can't play YouTube Videos)
- Slim ROMs 7.1.2 (Nougat, no audio)
- Omni ROM 7.1.2 (Nougat, no camera)
- Slim ROMs 6.0 (Marshmallow, other buttons won't work)

[ROM] Android 11 ROMS

It's strange that the MAX3 forum is so deserted. The previous MAX2 has a lot of Android11 ROM also. The MAX2 has only 4G of running memory and can't use gesture navigation. Obviously MAX3 has more advantages. posted two ROMs LINEAGE 18.1 and ARROW, hope that the MAX3 forum will have more popularity.

Tried out Havoc 4.5 for a few days. But if I tether it drops data completely. And I need tethering for work. Guess I'll try that Pixel Experience out.
EDIT: Not the ROM I guess. Same issue.

it might be rom issue after all, because most like most images are based on the same basis, probably aosp. mi max 3 also needs firmware, it is integrated but problem is related to firmware somewhow.

Every rom I tried ported by Joysko had the same issue. I ended up going w/ a Lineage 17 GSI by Andy Yan. Only issue is no notification LED, which hasn't worked on the GSI I've been using for the last 3 years anyways.

Hi,
Yes Mimax 3 is a greet phone. I'm also surprised that this forum is so deserted. Thanks for all the ROMS.
Are these GSI ROMs ?
Is there a list of what is not working for each ROM ? Or do I have to try and see ?
I'm looking for a ROM with gesture navigation.
Is there a guide somewhere explaining how I could generate a ROM by myself ?
Thank you

Pros: battery and customization
Cons : slow and laggy
No call recording

I haven't tested so many ROMs as a user. It is recommended that you use the ROM marked as Official. At present, I am using Pixel experience without any problems. Android 10&11 are all include gesture navigation I think.

Nexus 7 (2012) No Gapps With TWRP 3.0.2

Greetings to all,
My Nexus 7 (2012) is now running Lineage 15.1 (Android 8.1).
Unfortunately when trying to install open_gapps_x86-8.1-pico-20120928.zip I receive the Error 64 Wrong architecture to set up Open GApps' pre-bundled busybox.
I have installed TWRP 3.0.2-0 to no avail.
Anu suggestions please?
Thanks in advance,
Scott
