I bought a Xperia and tested a touch HD of a friend. I've returned the Xperia and bought the touch HD. Now I undesrtand the success of the iphone etc..the screen size is what really maters!. Apart form that, the xperia is still quite buggy, while the touch HD is buillt on a proven platform, all the touch devices made by HTC. Altough the Xperia is made by HTC as well, looks that HTC has let Sony to "drown" in the waters of WM because what really makes HTC phones useable is their own tweaks to WM that make the difference, like: The bluetooth handsfree profile works, the phone does not hang (or not so often) the wifi does not drain all the battery...Sony still has a long way to go until they are able to customize thier WM handsets to make them useable. If only they had Symbian UIQ to live longer...
By the way I tested Tom Tom 6.0 in both and the GPS works more or less the same on both (a bit faster in the HD). You will not miss the navigation buttons at all, in fact I find the optical joystick in the X1 horrible and the hardware 4 way keys are so small that I've never used them. The only strong point about the X1 is the hardware QWERTY keyboard but for moderate typing (emails, IM), the onscreen keyboard of the HD is sufficent because the buttons are big enough in the 3.8 inch screen.

Well..i use the phone mostly to work and speak...For that I have my Nintendo Ds..
i had the xperia and gave it back within a week. so many issues like system crashes, active sync not working on vista, slide mechanism flimsy...list goes on and on. i ordered my hd this morning
The experia has a small(ish) screen, I cannot see it very clearly. Also imho the slide isnt a great achievement, there is a certain amount of 'wobble' in the mechanism.
The touchscreen is good but not better than the HD.
But you need to ask yourself what you want to do with it.

I have an ATT version of the Note3 running Android 4.3 on Baseband N900AUCUBNB4 - rooted of course.
I have a Sony Dual Shock 3 controller linked through bluetooth via the Sixaxis Controller app and I'm trying to use the controller to play Grand theft auto San Andreas. So far I've gotten it to work, but there is a massive delay when using any button except for the analogue sticks. I've googled this and searched the forums but can't find any information leading to a resolution. All the buttons work, but there is a big delay in the game.
Anybody know how to resolve this issue?

Issue also exists with mupen64 application. Controller is brand new and never tested anywhere but on this phone... Also I noticed if I disable the native gamepad option in the sixaxis app there is no lag, but then none of the buttons work...
Anyone? Still can't figure this out. The buttons seem to work okay in the main screens but if I launch any game whatsoever it goes to 3 second delay on any button except analogue stick...

Just to share my finding after rooting my z3 tablet compact. I found that when the "Glove mode" is enabled, I was able to use the Sony ES22 as stylus perfectly. This should work like the Pen mode which was introduced on the previous Xperia devices without using the pen mode app.

When you say perfectly, do you actually mean perfectly?
Did you do anything else other than turn Glove Mode on? Just tried this myself and it's far from perfect. Really have to push down on the screen with ES22 to get it to register an input and seven then it takes several attempts.
Sorry. I only did some swiping between menus and was able to detect the ES22. When I tried drawing on sketch, it has frequent breaks.

Does Sony Z3 is also a theme other than their original theme when I install the second lock screen, home screen turns black screen transition in seconds how I solved this problem a solution to this problem, thanks.
One thing I miss when I test new roms is the DualShock drivers, a lot of Xperia devices comes with it in their stock roms.
The DualShock 4 has the blue led and all triggers, buttons, etc work as intended, while we still can connect the controller on basically any other smartphone or Sony with custom roms, the led is white and, in some games, like GTA, L2 and R2 triggers won't work.
Is there a way to bring back the DualShock functionality into custom roms?
