I am having some camera focusing issue with my redmi note 7
It's not focusing properly, in both auto focus or manual .
It blurs too much in bottom and sides
Here some photos with unwanted excessive blur .
The marked area gets blurry everytime .
But when I focus near or something on that area that blurs more
The issue doesn't shows up.
It's blur's another random area .

Camera quality

Thought I'd have a look at the quuality of the camera, compared to the Desire. Discovered that I have a problem with focus on the left side of the picture, and wondered whether anyone else has it.
3 photos, reduced using the same method. Canon (for reference), DHD and Desire:

Now, we can look at 1:1 crops to examine the quality:
You can see that stuff on the left is out of focus - this shot shows it well:
Finally, my phone is an early one with bad camera and sim cover alignment. Not sure if it matters, but here are close ups anyway. Anyone else with a left hand focus issue?
I can definitely see your point, I will test this on my DHD tomorrow.
i can just about see it, but honestly i would worry more about the over sharpening and terrible white balance on this phone. testing it earlier it gave my girlfriend the skin tone of a Simpson...
just took a shot outside, havnt changed any settings
I've just taken delivery of a DHD and have exactly the same left side focus problem. How did you resolve this - or you returned / replaced your unit?
weird. mine seems to be fine.

picture on my phone
is it the phone?..if not can it be fixed?
If the phone's screen was bad, then the screenshot wouldn't look as bad. That's because the screenshot app doesn't take a pic of what's on it screen. It's taken from the rendering coming out of the GPU.
So don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your screen. Its probably the ROM.... or maybe someone somehow screwed up your GPU .

Seems to be a problem with the gallery app. I have/had the same problem. I wanted to have a specific picture as my wallpaper and the endquality looked horrible like in your screenshot. I read somewhere while googling, that the gallery app downscales the pictures in some way (correct me if im wrong).
If you want to make that picture as a wallpaper and want to keep the quality i can recommend the app "Crop Wallpaper". It lets you crop your pictures while keeping it's original quality and sets it as your wallpaper.

[Discussion] notice poor picture quality sending Android UI screenshots in some apps

My phone is HTC U11 and right now I'm on ViperU 2.3 ROM (Oreo). Found weird jagged stroke on UI screenshots send by apps, I wonder if anyone with same or different phone has seen or noticed. To be clear when the UI is at first captured, the image quality is good.

But if I send them in certains apps (Telegram etc. but not limited to Telegram) the downgraded picture looks ugly at the edge of lines and strokes, jagged. You can even see that line of dots disappears due to the same reason.......
I have compared with my friend's image (I let him send me the same shot) in the app, but that looks fine despite the blurred quality, even though we are on the same phone and the same ROM.
Now when sending shots in some apps that I'm actually concerning image quality this is frustrating since most apps downgrade image and that jagged edge is destroying the image......
Dose that have something to do with Android thumbnailing algorithm which in the saying for years is way worse than what iOS applies? Wish some one has some talk over this...

Lens Flare

Does anyone here suffer from heavy lens flare on Redmi Note 7?
I know sometimes lens flare happen when you take picture directly into light source. But I think this amount is too much and it's also has a weird shape.
So it is normal for Redmi Note 7 to has this kind of lens flare?

Rn7 don't have great optics, so it is expected. Camera sensor is ok, but whit out good optics pictures still will be average.

Nonsense. Nothing to do with that. This sometimes happens even with top of the line DSLR cameras. You're shooting into the sun!!!
Light can reflect off of the sensor (CMOS) and bounce back to the lens and back again to the sensor. Some cameras have up to 6 an more lenses!!!
This is not a defect of your phone. It’s just physics playing tricks on you. The lenses on this kind of cameras are so much compressed, reflections are impossible to avoid.
Even iPhone have the famous green dot... https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/9qznxm/iphone_xsxs_maxxr_glowing_green_dot_in_images/

Camera Problem - "Ghost" Reflection

Hi, I've been using a Redmi Note 7 for three weeks now and I'm very happy with the device.
Yesterday I took some photos and found a weird reflection in the ones that have a strong light source. The lenses are clean and I've tried with the stock camera and the GCam, with case and without case, but the "ghost" reflections are still there. The effect occurs in both front and rear cameras.
When researching, I've found that it could be lens flare or internal reflection. However, I'd like to know if other Note 7 users have experienced the same thing or if it could be a problem with my phone's hardware.
Thanks!

How strange, I have no problems with that and I doubt it is a global camera problem, it must be failing something with your lens maybe

Then it may be an internal problem, what a shame. It seems that I will need to replace the phone. Thanks for your response!
