Reset Widevine L1 Certificate | Fingerprint Fix | Rooted Device | Unlocked Bootloader | RUI 2.0 RMX1931 - Realme X2 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

****Disclaimer: You have already chosen to mess up your phone and that is why you are here. If you brick your phone, beak warranty, any other issue you face or waste any time or effort doing this, I am not responsible! Use the below information at your own risk.***
You can fix your Widevine L3 status to L3 or fingerprint issue using the below method.
Install Widevine.apk
Restart your phone
Open "Oplus Keys' app.
If you face 'Permission Denied' error and unable to open the app, long press the app in app drawer and go to App Info.
From App Info, clear storage for the Oplus Keys or com.oplus.widevine app and click Open.
Agree the notification that pops up
Click on Widevine button
App should display 'Widevine-Key written successfully'
If the widevine key is not written, go to recovery and format data. **DO NOT WIPE DATA, FORMAT IT.
Repeat the steps from step 1.
Clear Data and Cache in recovery and restart phone.
It is likely that your fingerprint still does not work and shows error Try again later. You simply need to calibrate your fingerprint sensor from service center or follow the below steps -
Purchase the calibration silicone cubes.
Dial *#899#
Select 'After Sales Calibration' option
Move to a dark room
Enter the code 6776 and press OK
Click on Leak Calibration
Click on Start. The calibration process will ask you to put the yellow cube on sensor, then black cube and finally the yellow striped cube again. The Yellow striped cube (last one) can be blue cube or another skin colored small cube based on what kind of calibration cubes you purchased. Works either way.
Restart your phone.
Clear Data and Cache in recovery and restart phone. Fingerprint sensor should work fine now!
I have tested the process for Indian variant which was rooted and had bootloader unlocked to be working.

Can't install on rui1 c36

Now my DRM base apk is crash now in costom rom but i got L1 in costom rom

Camera Failed

I have a 9505 on 4.4.2 and I got the dreaded camera failed message. So I searched and found that all I needed to do.
Clear camera cache and data
From the home screen go to menu then settings. From settings go to the application manager then swipe twice to the left to choose the all tab. Scroll to the camera and tap it, then tap the force close button, the clear cache button and the clear data button. Note that your preferences and settings may have been deleted when you do this. After you are done with all this, reboot your phone and then check if the camera is working
Failings of the camera may have to do with cached data that has been corrupted. Tapping the force close button will stop the app from running and then clearing the cache and the data will delete the files that are used by the camera when its app is launched and this will also delete any preferences and settings that you have set. This procedure will only affect the camera app.
This didn't work
Factory Reset
If the above procedure doesn’t work, then you should try this out if you cannot live without using your phone’s camera. Before you do anything else though, you may want to make a backup of everything important in your phone before you proceed with this.
First you have to tap the menu button from the home screen. The choose settings and go to the accounts tab. Tap reset then tap factory data reset and then select delete all.
This should delete all of the settings and data that can be reached by Android. There are certain folders and partitions that can’t be deleted by doing this. You can delete those using the procedure next.
This didn't work
Wipe Cache Partition
In case the problem is not solved after this try this procedure.
Turn your phone off. After this, press and hold the volume up, home and power buttons until your phone vibrates. Then let go of the power button but keep on holding the volume up and home buttons until the Android System recovery screen pops up. Press the volume down button to choose the “wipe cache partition” option. Press the power key to select it.
This empties the contents of the cache partition. The files that could not be deleted by doing a factory reset are now deleted. Hopefully this should solve your problem.
This didn't work
So I thought I would send it back to samsung and get it fixed under warranty, problem was I had triped Knox so no warranty.
So I ordered a new camera module as I have read that this fixes the problem ......it didn't, but then I read that there are different modules so I ordered another from a different place this didn't work.
So now I am at a loss as to what to do has anyone got any idea?
Did you try to install a official firmware through odin?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes you should try different firmwares. Maybe it's just a bug in the firmware you are using.

remains to go into service
As others have said, try using odin to flash the latest correct official firmware (not custom rom) for your region/carrier.
If this flashes successfully and you STILL have camera issues, then I think we can safely rule out software problems and say that it's a hardware issue with your handset. If changing the camera module didn't work (and you have the exact same module that your handset started with), then I'd say there is some connection issue elsewhere within the device?
Has the phone ever been water damaged or did you drop it from height?
when you are fitting any new parts, be sure to do it on a clean and clear surface, so as not to get dust inside the device. Ensure that any pins/contacts are clean so that they are making good contact with their corresponding sockets. You can also try using latex gloves or similar, as while working with electronic devices, this will help reduce any static build up to protect against shorts and also reduce dust/dirt intake into the device.
good luck!
I have now tried the very latest ROM I can find XXUFNB9 and I am still getting the same problem. I am really running out of ideas is there any connection on the motherboard that might be lose that I wouldn't touch replacing the camera module?
I have managed to get into a menu that test the camera and there is no voltage for the camera does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

s7 edge fingerprint sensor not responding
Hi this the first time i am posting on xda forums. Wanted help regarding my s7 edge fingerprint sensor. It responds just fine sometimes but most of the time it gives an error. I tried the solution of clearing cache , pressing power and volume down button together to soft reset it. But nothing worked. The funny part is that it will respond for a few while after rebooting ( restarting ) it but when it gibes the error it stops completely until restarted again. Did not drop it. Didn't place it in water. The problem did start after updating from marshmallow to nuogat and even after getting two security patch updates. Don't know what to do. Can anyone plz guide me how to use *#0*# code to check fingerprint sensor because when i check it it sometimes give that intializing failed. Sometimes if i don't put mu finger on the sensor it says it passed and when i place my finger it only shows first box passed while the rest of the boxes fail. I searched everywhere on internet for but in the end came back to xda and decided to ask u guys. As i did got alot of help from u guys on my s2 and note 4. I hope that someone might try to help.
Unless it's a hardware issue, start as follow:
1. Create 4 fingerprint profiles (maximum allowed), use different variations of your thumb.
2. Clean Cache portion in recovery mode.
If all that does not help, do a factory reset.
I do have all 4 fingerprints registered and have cleared the cache from recovery and settings both. And i do keep on cleaning it when it size increases. And i did perform a factory data reset and restored my data from note4. Do u think i should not restore the data of my note 4 after factory reset ??!? and thanku for replying ..

Agree with you, don't restore any data or apps from backup, just start as a new device and create from scratch the finger print profiles and try it.
If this doesn't fix the problem, it possible that the new update broke the finger print functionality.
Thanku for your time. I really appreciate tour help. Thanku
I did use my phone after factory reset and as a new phone but it gave the same error after 1 day. What do u mean by "create from scratch the fingerprint profile"

White box of Death - Optimizing apps - Starting apps - back to Adobe Logo

Hello, I need some help... It seems that I have an unstable installation and every time I:
- flash something in TRWP
-Use Titanium Backup to freeze an app or un install a system app
-Clean the Dalvik cache or cache
-Uninstall system applications /bloatware/apps I do not use : launcher (I use Nova launcher), Gmail (aquamail), SMS (textme), etc..
-...
I have to cross my fingers so when I reboot does not happen the following :
1-Axon logo splash screen shows up for a painfully long time (~15 minutes)
2- Then white box indicating Application xx of yy is being Optimized
3- After optimization of all apps the white box of Death indicates "applications being started"
4- In an OK boot I will see my launcher or lock screen and I will be safe
5-If things go FUBAR (****ed-beyond-any-recognition) the Axon splash screen will show and the loop will start
I have left it a hole night with the power charger on at risk of melting the batteries!!!
OK I did research notice that I have a rooted but locked bootloader (can any confirm that this could be a root cause for the white box of death? :
1. I have a ZTE encrypted ROM, therefore I cannot do certain things in Recovery unless I format data, then I can erase catche/dalvink. (system/data./etc If some one has found a way to bypass the encryption let me know please because I tried the. C batch command prompt or Google play Crystal)
So the trick I found was to install a . zip from Recovery then I have the option to clean the dalvik catche.....but it does not fix the error.
I use three apps to clean cache from the OS live : Titanium Backup, Root tool box FlashFire but if I reboot the white box of Death is back.
2. Use some of the system : System repair for Android.. still no luck
3. OK I researched and I think the root cause is a deox issue... So I looked into a fixer of deox. Found it in play OptimizeRepair... No luck
4.App from playstore Fix Permissions before reboot.. No luck
5. Use Titanium Backup to place Dalvik cache as part of the ROM...TT did not like the operation and halted.
OK, that is all if any one has fixed this issue before I appreciate if you let me know how, thanks
Ps: I have a total of about 500 installed apps (user+system). I do not think it would be an issue other than the optimization process due to the shear number of apps.

ROOT for Official Stock Nougat 7.0 (100% Working) - All Exynos Models (Tested it on SM-G930F/D SM-G935F/D)
By rooting you may lose some and gain some. Be careful in what you are doing.
Read each and every step mentioned in this post carefully and then start working on Root.
If you've any fear about the root. Please stop it here and close the window
Desclaimer:
[*]This is working on Exynos (SM-G930F) S7 Flat and (SM-G935F) S7 Edge models! (Should also work on all the Exynos Models)
[*]This will erase your phone so be sure to backup anything you need
[*]Your warranty is VOID Knox flags 0x1 or 0x500
[*]I'm not responsible for damage to your mobile or loss of warranty!
Things that may not work:
No official OTA updates (Of-course)
All Knox Based Apps (Samsung Pass, Secure Folder, Samsung Pay, S Health)
But you can get the above working - We have some ways to make them work even after root. Please Check that after the root process below
Here are the instructions to root your Nougat:
Instructions are similar to Marshmallow. Main thing to note here is - Use the latest supersu build.
Prerequisite:
Samsung Drivers
ODIN
SR2-SuperSU-v2.79 and above versions.
twrp-3.0.2-4
Instructions:
Enable OEM unlock & Debugging Mode in the Developer Options
Reboot your device into Download mode. To do this, hold the [Volume Down] + [Home] buttons for a while.
Once you reach the Download mode warning screen, press [Volume Up] to continue.
Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot and disable Auto-Reboot and click on "Start" by connecting your phone.
When its done flashing, Hold [Volume Down] + [Home] + [Power] to get out of Download mode and immediately swap to [Volume Up] when the screen blanks.
If you don't see TWRP boot splash, try again.
At this point, you will reach the screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow the next step you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device and follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
If you want to use Systemless DevBase, then do not swipe. Keep it as read only.
Go to Wipe and click on format data. Type "yes" and it will format.
Now go back to home and click on "Reboot" then click on "Recovery" Option.
Now Transfer the above downloaded filed into your Phone or Memory Card or OTG Pendrive.
Now again click on Install and flash the Super SU. Only the latest Super SU is working fine with no issues. Do not use the old versions.
You can now click on reboot > system
It will take about 5 Min and boot. Done. You've got the Nougat rooted.
After the fresh boot, you will setup everything. Once you are in, you can observe a notification.
This is a security notification - unauthorised actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any unauthorised changes
Disable the notification permissions in settings and restart your device by using power button.
Do not restart it by using the option mentioned in that window!
Now go into supersu app. A popup will open to disable the Knox. click on OK. It will take some time to disable it. If its taking more than 5 min and failed to disable, then restart the mobile again and do the same step. it will work now.
Note: You can ignore the last step, If you want to use KNOX - do not disable it.
How to Disable the notification permissions:
Slightly move the notification to the right. You can see a 'settings icon'. Click on that and you'll be taken to notification permissions.
If you see "Allo notifications", disable it.
or
Go to Settings > Applications > Click on 3 dot menu on the right corner and select "Show system Apps". Find "SecurityLogAgent" and open it.
If you dont see that option to disable the notifications:
Go to settings > device maintainance > Device Security > Click on scan device once and close the settings.
Open the supersu app and you may see the popup to disable KNOX. click on OK. (If you've already done this, just restart your mobile)
Restart the device. Done.
If you the see the notification again, install titanium Backup app and Disable/Freeze - SecurityLogAgent & SharedDeviceKeyguard.
Restart your mobile.

And All the Devs working on S7.
Special Note:
Please do not use the old versions of supersu on Nougat. You'll have some problems with the root. You may get the root but some of the things may not work well.
Camera doesnt work, flash light doesnt work, wifi problem, delay in response, keyboard doesn't work properly, App closure etc etc.
So, use SR2-SuperSU-v2.79-SR2-20170103215521 and above versions for better results.
Phsuperuser and magisk will also work but, you may have to use custom kernels.
Did you brick your device ?
Then flash the official firmware using ODIN. Download the official stock firmware from sammobile.com or by using this tool
Hit Thanks if it helps :fingers-crossed:

Some of the members are unable to see this option. Members who have upgraded directly from Marshmallow to Nougat are having this issue. You cannot change the notification permissions for system Apps. And for those who have upgraded from Beta, they have the option to disable. not sure why.
If you dont see that option to disable the notifications:
Go to settings > device maintainance > Device Security > Click on scan device once and close the settings.

We have some MODs available to remove knox and bloatware for Marshmallow and Beta Nougat. I did not test any mods on this official Nougat.
May be after sometime this procedure will get easy.
Hope that helps :good:

I think it's your first time to root your phone.
Snapchat will not work on Rooted devices. Its blocking the user to login on rooted devices.
But, we have many threads in XDA on how to use snapchat despite the root. You should takeout some time to search on google
Here is a thread by @TheGejr - Snapchat on rooted devices without Xposed (Nougat)
Another Thread : Snapchat and Root
Or you can use the following steps:
unroot your phone and Restart : Open Supersu > go into settings > go to 'Clenaup' Category > click on "Full unroot". It will remove the root.
Login to your snapchat.
Root the phone by super su again.
You can use the snapchat again.
Hope that helps

Yeah Right. Its not needed (as per the comments in that thread).
I have observed the same in MM as well.
In most of the rooting method threads, everyone recommended to flash the no-verify zip. So, I did the same.
Will see if it works that way with the new supersu.
May be you can try that when you get the nougat update

In the new official Nougat, S Health app is checking the KNOX flags due to updated security policy. If your knox tripped, then it wont work.
I've tried removing the knox, Removed S Health app and installed it as user app. Nothing worked.
This is working in custom ROMs. Anyway you want to root the official stock, so using custom roms is almost the same. Try them instead of this

I didn't try it myself but maybe it will work:
Just delete S Health completely from system/app and get an older version (e.g. 4.8) from apkmirror. Install that apk as a regular user app and let it update. Some people claim that this method worked for them.

Galaxy S7 FingerPrint error after update.

So i have recently updated my phone to the latest 7.0 software on my galaxy s7. ever since the update, my fingerprint scanner doesn't work. When i go into the system settings to try and setup new fingerprints it gives me the error "An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor. If this message appears repeatedly, restart your device." I tried restarting the device, clearing the app's cache and data, as well as clearing the system cache in the boot menu. When i go into the FingerPrint test under the HwModuleTest(*#0*#) and perform a normal scan, everything comes back as failed. Is my only option to backup my phone and do a complete reinstall?

Try completely reinstalling QA6. I highly doubt the update caused the fingerprint scanner to start working though since it works perfectly fine on my phone.

Flash PK1 with Odin and take the ota again. When the ota is done, factory reset the phone to make sure any software issues are gone.
Should I be using smart switch to backup my contacts/messages/etc to my computer?
I recently updated my phone and am having the same problem. Have you found a solution for you that worked (I also tried wiping my cache partition and a soft reset)

I also just updated my SM-G935FD via OTA to Android version 7.0.
Since then, fingerprint scanner is not working. Like for OP, all tests fail under HwModuleTest.
I tried to remove all fingerprints, but it is impossible to add new fingerprints - the error message is "Make sure that the Home key is clean and dry, then try again." Obviously, the fingerprint sensor is as dry and clean as it was before the update (when it worked perfectly).
Since then I tried, unsuccessfully:
- removing old fingerprints and adding new fingerprints (does not work, cf. above)
- formatting cache partition
- performing a hardware reset
Please advice, thanks.
P.S. I do not have access to Odin, since I do not have a Microsoft OS.
I had constant issues with the ATT firmware's fingerprint reader performance (6.x) -- wouldn't recognize my fingerprint when I tried to unlock and would often get the forced timeout.
It works flawlessly for me on the u firmware (still 6.x unfortunately). Night and day.
Same issue with me here in the UK. Just did the Nougat OTA update, having no end of issues, including the "dry home button" stuff with the fingerprint scanner. Also, the stock browser seems to have lost it's secret / incognito mode.... why can't they just leave stuff alone? Seems like my only option at this point is to downgrade back to marshmallow and put up with the annoying update notification.
Same here what do we have to do ?

Has anyone had, conversely, an *overactive* fingerprint sensor?
While the phone is unlocked, at times when my finger is only resting on the scanner, I'm taken to the accessibility settings with an alert asking "Grant Permission: Please, grant permission to allow this feature".
