OEM Unlocking? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

So I'm stuck on a S7 a friend gave me while I wait for my OnePlus to get here, and I was shocked to find out there are no roms for the ATT version of the phone. Apparently cause none of them come unlocked? However in developer options on my phone OEM Unlocking was available, I clicked it and it says it was successful. Is there more to this that I'm not getting? Did I end up with a once in a blue moon OEM unlocked ATT S7?

The Samsung S7 from AT&T can't be OEM unlocked and maybe will never be.

You have to flash the ENG_BOOT file. You will need to know what bootloader version you are on. It is explained there.
I am running a T-Moble version on my ATT phone and works fine.

OEM Unlock available

Got my G5 from EE earlier this morning. Looks like there's an OEM unlock like there was on the G4.

The Tmobile one in the US has this same option too. And doing the fastboot oem unlock function works too.
And then it stops right there. Any attempt to write a custom recovery does not work.
Hopefully it will be a different story over there.

Having this option in Android settings does not mean that the bootloader is unlocked. The SD820 Galaxy S7 & S7E have this option as well, and their bootloader is locked down tight.
Edit:
Aaaand, the bootloader is locked on all variants of the G5 as well. Thanks, Qualcomm...

It is built in on all developer options on all Marshmallow running devices. But is only a security option for the user to allow it IF...IF it is available from the manufacturer/carrier.

Hi i have this problem to
Hi,
I tried writing to Huawei support in order to request the bootloader unlock code and the answer is that for this model Y560-L01 it is not available.
Does anyone know a way to unlock the bootloader and flash a different recovery on this Huawei model?
Thank you
Fixed!
Hi Everyone,
After I tried all the possible methods the only way that works to unlock the bootloader on Y560 with latest firmware version is the method that you can find in the comments of the "David Andres" comment in this site konstakang.com/devices/y560/TWRP/#comment-3567523527.
The procedure is at your own risk..
The step are clearly described. You have to root the phone (in my case the last kingroot 5.3.x worked). Than with Rashr flash the B040 recovery.
At this point you can install any stock Rom newer than 577B040 directly or install the ROM 040 that allows to unlock the boatloader with fastboot or do any other work on your phone.

Rooting s8, no oem unlock

Tried to root my S8 sm-g950u, latest software update(qde), with cf auto root. I, however, do not have an oem unlock in developer options. Does this mean it's unlocked or not unlockable? I tried the cf auto root anyway, bad idea i assume, and odin kept failing or giving me a sha256 is invalid. i later realized the cf auto root was for the previous update. can't get twrp on it either. my latest idea was to flash the previous update, but i could not find a sprint version(the only one i found the connection would time out). suggestions?
You can't root it if it's a North American S8 as it have Snapdragon (unlockable bootloader).
You cant root any snapdragon phones.

How can I Network unlock S4 I337 lollipop

Hello,
Please I need help unlocking AT&T Samsung s4 i337 on Android 5.0 lollipop.
I read about Region Lock Away but it requires root and unable to find a possible rooting guide because it's Android 5 lollipop and locked bootloader prevents me from installing custom recovery
Please I need guidance if I should downgrade the Android version. Which one will be preferable that supports rooting and Sim/network unlock.
Thanks for your favorable response

I recommend contacting AT&T to see if they will provide the unlock code for free. If not, look on eBay for an AT&T unlocker.
Well I finally unlocked the phone
- I downgraded to android stock 4.4.2 using odin
- Rooted the phone with towelroot
- Installed safestrap Recovery
- Flashed baseband to MF3 using safestrap
- Unlocked network with RegionLockAway
- Unlocked Tethering & Hotspot with Xposed Installer
Though I did not try going back to lollipop. I am quite satisfied now.

Trouble unlocking bootloader

Hello,
I've been looking forward to root my Redmi Note 7 for some time and I'm having some trouble with the unlock procedure. This is what I get in the developer option for unlocking:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So naturally, I tried to reset the phone following their instructions: nothing changed, same problem.
Any ideas to get around with this?
Look I guess you have to remove your account then add it again and do backup
