Help with VoLTE activation - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm struggling to activate VoLTE on my phone SM-G900T. Phone is unlocked and rooted with Magisk. Secret Code Explorer is installed.
Firmware T-mobile US. AP: G900TUVU1GQC2; CP: G900TUVU1GQC2. Android OS 6.0.1 (kltemo)
Baseband: G900TUVU1GQC2
Kernel: 3.4.0 Boeffla-Kernel-2.4-Samsung-g900f
Build Number: MMB29M.G900TUVU1GQC2
There is no Volte toggle in the Mobile network setting. However, the hardware supports ims and volte. And the Volte toogle is on in ImsService switch.
Here is Ims profile List:
T-mobile Volte/RCS ON
T-mobile Jansky LTE/wifi off
T-mobile Jansky 3G off
T-mobile E911 ON
Ims Info:
Ims Registration False
Voice over IP False
SMS over IP false
No profiles are registered
I have no idea how to register the Ims.
When I choose Main Activity in Ims Settings I get notification "no found CSC binaries or customer.xml"
Surprisingly, the DeviceKeystring Version Receiver (1234 code) shows only AP and CP are installed (G900TUVU1GQC2). But there is no CSC (modem). May be I have to flash CSC from T-mobile. I do have CSC_TMB_G900TTMB1GQC2_CL7500527_QB13003489_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar. I believe it from 2017.
I also have edited 2 config files. The first one is build.prop in System. The following lines were replaced:
ro.telephony.default_network=10 it was 9
persist.radio.sib16_support=1 it was 0
I also added the following lines:
# Debug Options
persist.ims.volte=true
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
# Radio Options
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
There is also option to add line
persist.volte_enabled_by_hw=1
meaning volte is force enabled using hardware instead of software
I didn't tried yet that opption
The second file I've edited is ims_nv_TMB.xml from /efs/sec_efs
<omadm LVC_ENABLED="1" EAB_SETTING="1"
VOLTE_ENABLED="1"
sms_over_ip_network_indication="1"
There is another file ims_nv_DEFAULT.xml in /efs/sec_efs that I didn't change
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<NV_STORAGE>
<omadm/>
</NV_STORAGE>
In addition I have added the ims to the APN type:
Mobile Networks:
APN: T-Mobile US LTE
APN type: default,mms,supl,ims
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Right now I able to make a calls and to send SMS but unable to receive calls and SMS. In Mobile Network Setting LTE/3G/2G Autoconnect is choosen (there is no LTE only option). When I making a call the network from LTE dropps to 3G (HSDPA) automatically. I can see it in the About Device/Status. Then most of time 3G is unavail (the 3G icon is x-crossed in toolbar). I able to restore temporarilly the 3G (HSDPA) if I turn off/on the Airplain mode toggle or if I restart the device.
I can choose LTE only option in Service mode RIL (2263 secret code). However, after that I unable neither to make or receive the calls.
So, I'm frustrated. I know people were able to activate Volte on Galaxy S5 even in 2014-2015 by upgrading with NF6 (baseband G900TUVU1BNF6). But nowdays I don't know where to get that update and would it will work with Marshmallow 6.0.1.
I would be grateful if someone who has experience with Volte activation on T-mobile US network will share his/her knowledge.

The issue is solved by installing the T-mobile CSC.

I have the same problem. How do I install T-mobile CSC? I searched in the Forum but did not get any hits. Baseband G90.0TUVS1GQA2

[Q] Note 4 SM-N910S (SK Telecom) issues. Need solution!

Hi all,
I am a bit new to this forum. So my apologies for any tips that i have not known yet
I got a note 4 from SK telecom KR (SM-N910S) unlocked verion running Octa core version. There are 3 issues currently exist on my phone. I am living in Australia btw.
1 : Every time the phone start up, it will ask me whether i want to enable networking or not and talking about roaming ??
2 : Sometimes MMS can not be sent, retry few time and its ok ?
3 : The networking on SM-N910S has a big issue for me, that model only has 2 kinds of network LTE/3G mode or 3G Only mode, on AU version we have GSM/WCDMA/3G/LTE etc so it look like i am missing WCDMA and 2G networks
My question is :
* How can i access the hidden menu for Note 4, i know there is a hidden menu somewhere on that phone allow me to change network mode
* Can i flash my phone with AU firmware to remove roaming message and other SK's stuffs. ??
I can list some of my phone info here

If you have root, just open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Secret Codes' > scroll down to *#27663368378# for Service Main Menu or *#197328640# for Debug Screen. Tap and select "Launch 0' to launch.

Not working
Hi,
For me is not working. I did that change, I have LTE connectivity (not 4g as I have on my note 3) but now I can't use the phone, only Internet. Any idee? I'm on Vodafone Romania.

4G and LTE is just preference in naming. If you choose 'LTE' option without 'preferred', it will fail to fallback to 3G to make a phone call. Different story if your carrier has VoLTE

Are this phone n910s not support 900 wcdma band?
note 4 hidden menu network settings
I got this note 4 off ebay and it kept wanting to roam, and not use my network preference. I went into the hidden menu and changed it to all LTE and it asked if i wanted to use my network data and i said yes. Fixed it and the roaming "r" went away, but......................it won't stay like this after you reboot the phone, it goes back to roaming again until you go back into the hidden menu and do it again. How can you get it to stay permanently?

A510F. Emergency calls only

So my A510F out of nowhere starting doing some weird stuff. When someone tries to call me, the phone instantly goes into emergency calls only mode. Same happens when i try to call someone. I can send text messages, the internet works fine. I tried doing system restore, it didn't help. Also tried flashing a custom rom. I'm still having the same issue. I tested the SIM card in another phone, and the calls go through with no problem. Any help?

Use the USSD *#0011# & select sim. The registered PLMN / MCC MNC is the same in the normal state and emergency calls only? Signal strength and quality is OK (includes ec/io?) TCH rx lvl no longer -- with call / any MNO's USSD code on 2G? Any change if the operator is manually searched and selected?
Edit: I'm suggesting 2G/3G because maybe at some time, the CSC was not applied correctly, disabling volte and leaving CSFB. If *#0011# doesn't work the CSC wasn't applied correctly. Was that other phone connected to another cell (different band preference), or did it have volte enabled?

If the 0011 disappears with no response, the ril service mode has been debloated. If the 0011 stays with no response, the CSC was not applied correctly. You could alternatively try to open it with root (am broadcast...) Check logcat -s XMLParser:V, there should normally be at least one that doesn't say file not found.
With that rom you likely have root, to apply CSC copy the content of /system/csc/yourcsc/system/ into /system/.
/system/csc/yourcsc/system/etc merges into /system/etc & /system/csc/yourcsc/system/csc merges into /system/csc
Set the permissions of those files (not folders) to 644(owner read write, group read, other read). After this try volte(4G LTE) if available.
Specifically, it's "yourcsc_keystrings.dat" for 0011. Rename it to sm-a510f_keystrings.dat if it doesn't work. This file from any device or CSC could work.
The 0011 isn't the solution to the problem, unfortunately. But it could help us know what's the cause of it.
Something else: (backup the efs in case you accidentally select something unintended, or because maybe it's broken on nougat, 9090 is something different and could cause modem bricks, I've used 9900 on a510fd marshmallow) Enable mobile data while the network becomes unavailable, *#9900#, select run cp based log. In /data/log/err, open litmuslog...txt and scroll down. Google those reject cause codes if there are any.
Showing errors specific to calls is at+ceer(create a backup), an at command that could be run with the 'modem serial port' on a PC or on the Exynos device itself with root and with minicom -D /dev/umts_router.
Also, you could try contacting your MNO. It's likely that they will tell you to restart your device but it's worth a try.
You could try a SIM from another MNO.
I've got nothing else.
Emergency call solved in a510fd
Is the 4-file maintenance ROM capable of repairing the network in a model A510FD and can it solve the problem of emergency calls only?

[Working Method] VoLTE on SM-G935U/V/A/T/P without ROOT

The following worked for me.
1. Clean Flash G935UUEU4BQD2 firmware via ODIN.
2. Install all OTAs.
3. Install QuickShortcutMaker to Enable VoLTE.
4. Once you have installed QuickShortcutMaker, find and launch IMS Settings.
5. Goto IMS Service Switch -> Enable MMTEL Switch, VoLTE, VoLTE-Video & SMS over IP.
6. Make sure you have JIO IMS Profile under IMS Profile and ISIM is set to True under ISIM Info.
7. Add a new IMS APN with the following and save (this will not be shown).
Name ims
APN ims
Type ims8. Switch to Flight mode and back to normal.
9. Note that this will not show VoLTE symbol in the status bar but you can make/receive Calls & Sms without Jio4G app.
When i click on "Try" it shows " you don't have permission to open this. Any idea how to fix this?

LTE On Oreo After Root?

LTE on Oreo
Try this. Go into your phone dialer and enter this secret code:
##3282# (puts you in programming mode)
Click edit.
For the MSL code, put "000000" and press OK.
On the main screen, go to MORE.
Then click HDR/1x Selection.
On this screen, select Global then press OK.
The phone will restart and should enable LTE.
Hope this helps.

If Global doesn't work, go thru the process again and try the next 2 settings.
Unfortunately I have tried that and it does not work for me.
@DirtyPISTOLA This is a step you might of missed and has been throughout my thread. (Apn settings need to be applied after eng boot is registered) I implemented these settings through a .bat file in device system/etc folder, but doesn't work for all. So if you apply the eng boot through ODIN...and upon reset... Edit APN settings through mobile networks, being;
Name: APN2 LTE Internet
APN: n.ispsn
MMSC:http://mms.sprintpcs.com
Multimedia message proxy:68.28.31.7
Multimedia message port:80
MCC: 310
MNC: 120
APN type:default,supl,mms,dun,fota
APN Protocol:IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol:IPv4/IPv6
Bearer:LTE
You should be able to run SuperSU .bat file and hopefully that'll fix it. If not it's a firmware issue.
I'm not sure if this works for oreo because I no longer have this device, but these are settings needed for LTE. Like I said idk if Nougat's LTE is different from Oreo's LTE.
Build.prop entries:
ro.characterisitics=Sprint
ro.telephony.default_network=10
ro.cdma.default_numeric=310120
ro.cdma.default_alpha=Sprint
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Sprint
If this doesn't work try SM-G935U firmware with exact settings and steps, but change MNC: to 000.

Awesome thanks for the reply, I just upgraded to a new update that wont let me downgrade because of security policy updates as soon as SamMobile posts the firmware so I can restore if something goes wrong I'll give this a try. Thanks again.
Glad I finally found this thread, which firmware should I be on if I want to root this thing? Thinking of flashing Boot Loader 6 though again not sure.
Hey hey, I need to dig up this ghost here, cause I rooted a Sprint S7 Edge and put a verizon SIM in it, I don't have an active sprint SIM so I can't test it out, but the verizon SIM isn't getting any LTE, it just shows roaming, and no MMS messages can be downloaded. I may or may not have messed with some settings.
So, I can't edit the APN settings it's locked out. How can I either a. unlock the APN settings, or b. get it to recognize LTE networks without doing that. I've tried so many different things I've found on the forums, like nova launcher menu and going into the IOTHidden stuff to get into LTEfunctionality and that's not even there on the phone.
We're running OREO, but I just don't know what the deal is. Any ideas?

Forcing VoLTE support on Mi-A2 Pie [root] when carrier supports

Hello, Just a small hack that allows me to use the VoLTE that my provider points out is "only available on handsets purchased directly from them" (SFR in France). This got me thinking ==> If VoLTE works on their handsets and not mine then :
a) The carrier infrastructure supports VoLTE
b) The sim cards must be provisioned correctly
c) The difference would therefore be in the telephone configuration ==> I'm thinking build.prop config in their "special firmware"
So looking through various forums - I came across the following:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/root-working-volte-on-stock-oxygen-3-1-0.480128/, https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-v4-volte-enabler-t3649613 and https://source.android.com/devices/tech/config/carrier (to help understand what IMS is all about)
Here's what I added to the end of my build.prop [you will need root for this]:
Code:
#VoLTE - force the IMS into VoLTE provisioned mode on.
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
If you don't want to do that directly in the build.prop you can do this directly from a debug shell
Code:
adb shell
$ su
# setprop persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable 1
# setprop persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr 1
# reboot
Please note that this did indeed allow me to make/receive calls and use 4G at the same time.
I also see "HD 4G" logo appear to the left of my signal bars.
When I look at my phone config (dial *#*#4636#*#*) I see VoLTE as provisioned.
I think that these lines force the phone to use VoLTE - the risk is that this might break your 4G - you have been warned. I don't guarantee that this works for you.
Can an administrator place this in the https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to forum please ?
I made this change with temporary root when i activated api for gcam, put this lines with temporary root and get OTA too
if yuou don't have root you can use *#*#86583#*#* . tested working on sfr too.
Tried that but that didn't work... This root build.prop stuff did... I have also added keys for video calling and VoWiFi but until I see those working I'm not keen to publish...

Magisk module VoEnableer maybe the best chois.
