High RAM Usage - Nokia 6.1 Plus (X6) Questions & Answers

Hey Guys I have been noticing Android 10 is using heavy amount of RAM (Developer Options - Running Services) than before. For Example in my case 2.9/3.9GB than 2.3/3.9GB but when I restart the phone it comes back to 2.3GB which is quite normal scenario! This slows the phone a bit!
Are you facing the same problem? Is there any way to reset the RAM without restarting the phone?

Find which apps or services are doing it and deal with them directly.
Turn off global power management if active.

Global power management means?

Developer options>standby apps, all app bucket states should show as "active" and their state not able to be changed by you.
The global power management option is found elsewhere in settings probably under power management. It can't be turned on/off in Developer options.

6.1 Plus don't have Power Management option maybe you are referring to Battery Saver?

That may be it... on Samsung's they bury it, you need to look a bit. It may be active by default, but you should be able to disable it. This makes troubleshooting easier.
It's called different things depending on the manufacturer. It's a Google Android battery management service present on most (all?) newer Androids.
Not sure about that make... sorry.
As it appears on my N10+, these are all trouble makers that can also cause erratic behaviors in my case.

It might have something to do with Voice Typing. Try disabling Google Search from Keyboard Input Methods. Or try clearing the data of Android Keyboard.
I get the same issue.
Noticed it because my device got really hot and I saw all four cores constantly above 1,5 GHz (Galaxy S4).
If you look in Apps you will see that Google Keyboard is constantly starting dictionary service. Do not disable the keyboard because the device gets unusable due to Force Closes.
same problem
I have same problem with Google keyboard. Just now I restricted background data for wi-fi and mobile and I noticed that my phone cooled down very fast. I'will test it today and let you know what I found out.
Fixed problem with keyboard draining battery by restricting it's background data both on wi-fi and mobile. Before I got about 2h of SOT on full charge(100%-0%), and now I got 1h 45min SOT on 20%(100%-80%)
over 4gb.... I usually strict my data usage to certain mb. That way I don't have to worry about it. Anyway thanks for the heads up.

Severe battery drain

Why is my battery being drained so much in idle?

Or you could do a Google search. Why do we need to spoon feed you ? Millions before you have reported battery drain issues.

What makes you think I haven't already? As you correctly said, there are "millions before you" that have reported these issues, all with various different causes, some resolved, mostly not.
I was wondering if the expert eyes of this community could spot any obvious causes.

Thanks. Based on my understanding, It's not WiFi that's draining all the power. I've always have WiFi Scanning Always Available, and the power drain doesn't finish the entire battery overnight.
Also, even with SCANNING ALWAYS AVAILABLE enabled, the Awake Percentage is normally 25% - 30% not 75%.
It's something else.
And before anyone asks, I've also tried disabling Location Services.
I'd try the WiFi for a day or 2 just to see if it helps. I recalled having the same battery drain issue when I first got the device. After turning it off it has helped a lot. Now it could simply be a bad app that you may have downloaded. Hope you figure it out

Need to replace JuiceDefender

I already have Greenify to keep apps under control.
Running CM12.1 on Lollipop. Juicedefender's mobile data feature is totally broken. I loved having that as it A) kept my data usage low, and B) really did a superb job on battery saving.
Is there any other app that controls the radios automatically? That is what I really need!
Thanks!

DS (Deep Sleep) Battery Saver worked for me in the past... I just leave data off 90% of the time anymore as I'm usually connected to WiFi.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I thought about manually controlling the LTE, but I know I would forget to turn it back on. Which would be bad since I mostly use web apps for messaging lol.

Note 4 Display turns on by itself or minimal touches

Hello, friends of the Note 4.
Im note sure if i am right here to ask about a specific problem.
Like i mentioned in the headline, the display of my phone turns on by minimal touches it seems, for example if i take the phone in my hand but not puch any button. Can be that it also turns on without toches, im not so sure.
The effect is hardly reproducable though, by handling the phone rougher just to see if the display turns on. Not sure.
Im a little stumped by this problem, since it didnt changed by flashing another rom. Im a little afraid that it could be a hardware problem... Hope not.
Do you have any advice for me what to try or in what direction to look for a solution?
Thanks!
Quick Glance on for some reason? LOL!

What even is Quick Glance? I use a Note 7 rom, by the way... Just truned off smart stay. It will take time to see if it solved the problem.
I think this problem is related to the apps that can appear on top like pie control, drup or any other 3rd party apps. So try to disable them one by and see which app is causing this problem. Cheers

Hello guys, may I ask you, if I set the "allow background activity" to restricted is this bad for my notifications?
They will arrive asap?
What restricts this mode?

it shouldn't make any difference
Left that on. To be fair, it only used 1% according on my stats, so it's not causing any issues.

It was disabling misscall notification in S9+. I'm yet to thoroughly understand what this android system activity "consists of".
I've set it to restricted some days now and all notifications are arriving at their time.
No missed call notifications are missing.

In S9 plus it was blocking in a way that miss calls weren't shown on time and was delayed once restricted, in Oreo in my usage . Don't know if anything has changed after that.
But one thing is for sure: The more the phone is used ,the more the battery consumption of android system activity. So technically, if it's restricted, some ongoing services are affected while the phone is in use.
