Hi, All! I'm pretty new user of Fascinate, but after changing stock firmware to SuperClean ROM I was expecting of more than english-spanish locale languages. Maybe, there is some ROMs with russian locale or ways to port from original Galaxy S firmware. Please, help! Such programs as MoreLocale not interesting(

In Russia, as I know, there are only GSM mobile operators, that's why they don't using Fascinate( I'm from Ukraine. I'm looking for Russian UI locale. I can't understand, why is it so hard to add any other languages to firmware? For what reason Verizon put only English & Spanish GUI localization? Maybe someone could describe the process of porting locales from other Samsung Galaxy S phones?
First of all it doesn't really matter. Second, as far as I know, there are few CDMA providers in Ukraine. ;-) Why do you care? Your English is pretty good...
SF is specific to Verizon. However you may search Russian forums for international version of Samsung Galaxy, which is i9000 I guess. But, I'm not entirely sure...
They might have original Russian locale from Samsung.
Point is that Android and TW have to be pretty much the same on all Galaxy phones. All this stuff is stored in resources. If you find Russian resource, then it will be much more easier to find somebody who can incorporate it in build. It might be even possible simply drop files in and give them specific names, to make Android to pick them up. Even if not, then it will be better starting point then nothing.
My Android knowledge is next to nothing, but that is how it usually works.

Because Verizon only operates in the US, where the primary language is English. Why add in all the other localization stuff when 99% of the people will never use it. It would likely cause more problems for those not using it than it would fix for the 1% that would use it.

Understand that I'm not trying to bash you hear, but generally speaking, buying a phone exclusively sold on an American carrier expecting a language other than English or Spanish is setting yourself up for disappointment. That's just the reality of the American market.
So, while I'd be glad to get proved wrong on this, I suspect nobody here is going to be able to help you directly. You might -- keyword might -- have more help asking in the international Galaxy S (i9000) forums, where there are Russian users and theoretically there could be a Russian developer who could figure out how to port a language.
Thanks everyone for help (with no sarcasm). But I was expecting, that someone do such locale porting, not exactly russian, but maybe other lang. About politics of Verizon, IMHO - it's not right. Galaxy S have this localizations and they have a possibility to flash them to the phone)

Короче тут явно всем не до русского, у самого такой же, про русский забыл сразу, сидим ждем фроё, хоть бы его суки дали.
А пока только морлокаль и пистец
Что самое интересное, что на все модели галакси уже вышел фроё, но только не на этот.

после htc hd2 я уже на этот гнусмас смотреть не могу) то 3 дня немог толком евдо настроить, то сегодня блютуз перестал включаться) кароче херня сплошная с этой балалайкой)))
Залезь на девелоп фасцинейт там фроё появился от каоса
там русский будет точно

Как по мне, английский всем устраивает. Только русскую/украинскую клаву поставил и всё. Интерфейс и так понятен. Может кто знает как русские tts прикрутить? А вот фройо очень хочется.

Мне очень нравится этот тел. Только суки с прошивками лажают. А так аппарат мощный, герцовый проц, что еще надо? Экран сууууууууууупер. Батарея хорошо держит. До этого был iphone, этот куда интересней, при чем андроид.

народ если здесь есть рускоязычный народ объясните мне почему нет ни одной прошивки с HTC sence 3.0 и рабочим wifi router ???.. по отдельности все имеется даже бегающие полоски исправили а вот работать роутер заставить не могут .... есть же прошивки где роутер работает разве сенс как то влияет на работу роутера??

1) При настройке камеры на автофокус и постоянную вспышку, при неудачной фокусировке система ложится и включается только после вытаскивания акумулятора.
2) Система зависает, если включены 2 плейера сразу (было опробовано на приложениях Apollo и Вконтакте)
3) Сильно ухудшилась система приема вифи и мобильного интернета.

Если хочешь помощи на русском (и от русских), то лучше писать на 4pda.
Насчёт проблем: такие мифические проблемы возникают, когда обновляют \ ставят прошивку без вайпа всего - это не касается ночных версий Cyanogenmod10 и CodefireX.
Может, стоит перейти на вышеописанные проши.

Это я понимаю, просто врятле люди, занимающиеся разработкой системы будут искать ответы на других форумах. Поэтому собственно сюда и написал.

И для начала хотел бы начать опрос, как вы относитесь к телефону Galaxy S, какой из этих двух моделей у вас и в комментах было бы интересно почитать как вы пришли к этому выбору, какая прошивка у вас стоит, её плюсы и минусы. Это будет удобно для составления описания на русском языке прошивок которые публикуются здесь. Дело в том что на 4пда очень поздно появляется описания и сами прошивки.
