55S434 Tcl android tv - Android TV General

I messed up my TV soft resets not bringing the screen back.
I set Secondary Display to 4k and it black screened now stuck in reboot mode.
It starts up and after Android tv logo it reboots a couple times then just suts black screened
There is not manual reset button.
Is there a recovery file that i can load onto a USB drive and use the Physical power button to boot the usb drive and recovery my tv or is it jacked?

Figured it out flashed to v662

where did you find firmware, could you share with me?
I think I got same model: 55S434
current version: v8-r851t02-lf1v458.018656
I am facing frame drop on 4k-60 fps, youtube or any other software so I think there may be bug with my version so I would like to rollback on some stable version.

Did you ever find this V662 firmware that works for the S434?

yeah i had to download a flash to a thumb drive then plug it into the tvs usb port then hold the power button under the bottom middle while plugging in the tv and it goes into flash mode.
Just search the forums and you will find the info buried here and there they also have a Telegram chat channel which is helpful.

This site is more dev less how to i assume most members figure if you are not smart enough to read the forums and search it and figure it out on your own you have no business flashing your devices.
Notice no one responded to my ask for help i just figured it all out on my own in about 6 hours of research and then got a thumbs up.
REMEMBER you can brick your devices

Awesome! Thank you so much for the reply! I found the telegram channel and obtained the update zip. TCL support wouldn't provide the steps to update, so thanks so much for the info! I actually accidentally hit the Netflix button which strangely got me out of the boot loop so I didn't have to restore after all. So glad it's working now!

Google Icon on bootup

Ok I just need a little help and advice so if you one of you out there in XDAland can help I’ll be truly grateful…
I’ve got the 32gb Nexus 7 which I rooted via the Wugfresh method and added I CWM for my recovery and did the OTA update to Jelly Bean 4.2.1. The last 6 months life have been peachy. Even the misses and her iDevices are jealous of my little corner of Android heaven.
So last night pick up the 7 and notice it’s running a tad sluggish and I also notice the battery is low and flashing red, so I plug in the power cable and attempted to shut it down and it just hangs… I give it 5 minutes and still not shut down so I hold power & volume down and get in to the Bootloader from here I select start and the tablet just hangs on the Google cross (red, blue, yellow, green). This now happens every time I power down even though there has been a good charge (6 hours) done. If I now go back in the Bootloader and try selecting the Recovery Mode I get the Android robot with the red warning triangle and the words “No Command” and that’s it. If I try the factory reset of power button & volume up from recovery mode I get nothing.
From the bootloader I see
Fastboot Mode
Product Name - grouper
Variant - grouper
HW version - ER3
Bootloader Version - 4.13
Baseband Version - n/a
Serial Number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Signing - not defined yet
LOCK STATE - UNLOCKED
Can someone advise what the best thing I can do to revive the 7? I don’t mind losing the data but I’m just unsure what to do next. I’ve read a few threads but none pointed me in the direction I think I need to be in…
Thanks in advance for any help given.
You might have to use the google factory images and restore it completely to default... Sucks, but I don't know what else you could do, have you tried to fastboot flash a new recovery mode?
Here is a link to the stock google images, it will completely restore your tablet though:
... opps, looks like i don't have enough posts to post a link, just google "factory nexus images" and it is the fist one on the list sorry!
you have to use fastboot to flash them, but since you can access your bootloader, that isn't a problem. There are some directions on the page to use the images.
Hope this helped! Sorry you will probably lose everything though!
Thanks for the help but do you have a step by step guide as to what I do next? I have the image but my PC don't see the 7 anymore I can't enable debugging...

Why wouldn't you use the guides found right here in this very forum?

There's one right there. On the same page as your duplicate posts

@Pirateghost Well I followed your advice and went over the guide you linked but I can't get the 7 to be seen from the CMD line.. any other ideas?

How to enter recovery mode Topway Ts8? Plz

Hi! I have a Topway ts8 product, how can I enter recovery mode? Help me please ?
This product only has a reset hole, and in addition does not have a physical key. I have tried many ways but cannot enter recovery mode.
I use Google Translate, so the grammar may be inaccurate, I hope everyone will be sympathetic and helpful

Hello. Did you manage?
Sorry to bring this topic on top again but does anyone have solution to enter recovery mode of this device? I tried to use five fingers to tap, swipe at left top corner, hold reset button… but doesn’t work. My HU is stuck at logo.
Thanks
What has been tried
Currently, I connected KEY2 line to ground, My screen displays "start update", I have a rom in USB but it doesn't recognize the rom, 3s later screen appears "update end".
I've resolved the problem "Device is stuck at logo and couldn't enter recovery mode" : check your Android head unit power cable, there is a line named KEY2. Connect this line to ground. reset your device (use reset hole) then on screen you will see : "update start", now you're in update mode. Make sure you plug your USB in with the firmware, all files will be installed automatically. Make sure you're using right firmware, if not 3s later, screen displays update end.

Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus (X606f) won't power on after flashing older ROM

I'm flashing my new Lenovo tablet with Android 9 (so I can flash it later with Ubuntu Touch) and after SP Flash tool finished flashing
tablet won't power on. The power button does nothing and holding volume down + power button does nothing either.
The battery isn't dead so I'm trying to figure out why the tablet won't come on if older ROM is on it.
I had no error outputs during the flash.
This is the ROM I flashed https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar..._Gen/TB-X606F/TB-X606F_S300007_200923_BMP.zip
Any suggestion as to how to get it to work again ?
I don't think you can downgrade these. You may need to completely wipe and reinstall the ROM.

No i mean when you connect the tablet to the pc in recovery, open Device Manager and ensure the tablet is connected with the correct driver. I'm sorry i don't know what that is offhand, but it should be different than when you connect it if the tablet was working. Sorry if it makes no sense, but i think this is what's going on.

In my case there's no "connect the tablet to the PC in recovery". The tablet won't power on at all. Can't invoke fastboot nor recovery. The tablet doesn't react to any presses. Or press and holds. No nothing. The only thing I can confirm is the red LED on when the tablet is on charger.
Window's device manager is recognizing MediaTek USB driver when plugged in but that's it.
I've ran out of ideas about how to restore it hence I'm posting here.

If it's that dead, then it sounds like the preloader.bin is trashed.
Try this method.
There is also an older thread for older SOCs that might have some hints.
Otherwise, you might have to open up the tablet.
You could research and try the "test point" method. It involves shorting two points on the motherboard. I did something similar for the X605F (which has a QCom SOC).
I'm not sure where the test points on this tablet are. Some MTK devices don't have test points. Google "mediatek test point" for starters. If you can't find them, then maybe ask Lenovo where they are. If you find out, post a photo of the test points on here.
If you're not confident doing any of this, then send the tablet to Lenovo for repair.

Yeah, I've ordered opening kit. I'm going in. Quite a few people got their devices working by disconnecting the battery and connecting it back. I've noticed that no matter how long the
tablet is on charger the LED stays red, it doesn't change to orange or green.
This same problem has happen to two more members of the community. Same tablet.

I don't have a lot of experience with the SPF tool, but could the root-cause of your problem be that you need to use a different dropdown option? See the description of the options in the unbrick guide - specifically the firmware upgrade option.
It makes sense that you want to force a full flash of low-level firmware when changing Android versions. That option seems to do exactly that.
Android 9 OS is not going to play nice with low-level firmware written for Android 10.
There might be nothing wrong with the ROM ??? ...just an idle thought.

Thank you for trying to help.
The flash tool doesn't do anything when I click Download and plugging in the tablet while holding the volume down button. Dropdown option was set to "firmware upgrade" as advised.
The guide suggests that it's for people who can at least power on the device. It says "switch off the phone ..." which I don't need to do since I can't even switch it on

You need to use a rework station heat gun or maybe a hair blow dryer might work to heat the sides of the screen to remove it.
I recommend cutting a water bottle in a square or rectangle shape then using the corner to slowly pry the screen off. After that remove the battery ribbon and hold the power bottom for 20-60 seconds to fully drain the charge.
Then recconect it and turn it on 100 percent works.
Just remember you must have the flash tool app and firmware ready in upgrade or download mode while holding down vol. It will reflash the tablet and bam will unbrick.
Just to note down my experiences here as well. I now also got into the same trouble. I tried
TB-X606F_S100015_191127_BMP.zip and also TB-X606F_S300091_201215_BMP.zip
It turns out that with these two you cannot start up the device anymore. Just as the thread-creator described. In my case pluging out and in again seems to give the SP FalshTool the chance to flash again (put it in "Download"-Mode before). So the latest firmware by today - TB-X606F_S300429_21110_BMP.zip - helped me to revive it again.
For me this is nice, but I also wanted to put Ubuntu touch on it just as described here: https://gitlab.com/ubports/community-ports/android9/lenovo-tab-m10-fhd-plus/lenovo-x606 ... unfortunately I am blocked now due to not being able to bring Android 9 on it. btw: There is no proposal on the site which firmware-version is even Android 9. I just guessed from the date.

Factory Reset my Android TV with nothing !

I have an Android TV and I wanted to disable its launcher. Because I wanted to install my own launcher !
So I connected to it via ADB and made some changes.
Then the TV software crashed and when I restart the TV, I just see the first welcome screen of TV and nothing happens after that.
I think I need to factory reset the TV and I have nothing to do that.
My TV brand is UNEVA.
Does any body know nothing about that ?
BR
On my fire tv edition I had to hold the power button a few second with the tv turned off and a few second after the logo starts up. The physical power button on the tv. You can try on the remote too, the same way. This is how you get to tv recovery on a fire tv edition.
Actually I didn't understand what to do !
Could you please write the steps again by detail ?
thank you
Do you have an android tv or a smart tv? Is it a streaming device or the tv itself is not working? Turn off tv, hold down power button while you plug the tv back on and wait for a start up screen then the recovery screen.
Yes I have and Android TV.
It was working correctly , but after some changes in firmware files using ADB, it has been stuck in startup screen.
Because of that I needed to go into recovery mode.
I followed up your instructions, but nothing happened.
My TV brand is UNEVA. It is a Chinese brand and it is not famous at all.
But its firmware name is "Wisdom Share" which is a bit famous.

You should be able to find the stock images for the current Android operating system on Google's website and then you can just reflash those
Your uneva brand Tv is an Android tv, and I assumed you connect to adb remotely. Can you check if you can still connect to adb? If you are messing with adb then you should know recovery mode, you need to get into recovery to factory reset.
Yes UNEVA is an Android TV and I used to connect to it using adb , but after making some changes in OS files (in shell mode) , the TV damaged and now I just can ping the TV and can not connect to it using adb.
So finally I think I need to get into factory reset mode.
But the problem is that I don't know where is factory reset page?
watch this video, it is how i factory reset my tv when i couldnt get pass the tv logo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-kdQjSE__A
I watch the video.
I did this bust it didn't work and my TV does not turn ON !
It means that my TV is different from the Toshiba model in YouTube video
every brand of tv have their own hard factory reset buttons to press when you cannot access the software of the tv. you have a tv i have never heard of maybe you can get a hold of pdf of your tv instructions. Good luck.
Unfortunately I could not find its Guide Book. It is almost a no-name Chinese brand and because of that, I thought maybe I can find a way using the TV's android software (Wisdom Share)
But anyway, thank you for your help.
I still have to search for a way and would be thankful if anyone can help.

You don't need to bootup to update device!
Transfer offline update files to USB drive (unzip from file two files inside a zip file and put them only on USB) and next time system starts (USB must be attached to port) with car it will automatically start update procedure and finish.
After updating it must enter Android that is dependable on what update you will perform (right one).

hey I just tried to load the update on the usb then plug it it before the unit turns on but I still have no luck. the unit just stays stuck in a bootloop only showing the android logo. the reverse camera still works, but nothing else does it stays stuck on the android logo. I think flashing is the only way to save it.
