8T on OOS A12 - C.16 Recovery with ADB Enabled - OnePlus 8T Guides, News, & Discussion

Tested on my own KB2003, work flawlessly. Useful for many cases.
I followed the GUIDE of @s3axel here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...n-os-stock-recovery-with-adb-enabled.4084487/
All credits to him.
Basically, this modded Recovery just saved my a** )))) Just unzip using 7z then flash it to Recovery as normal.

unpack your firmware, extract stock recovery.img and flash it.

But for flashing do I need to unlock bootloader or it can be done without unlocking?

As far as i remember to flash partitions with stock firmware you don't need unlocked bootloader.

If it needs to flash recovery the same way as we do for custom roms like fastboot flash recovery in platform tools then i tried that doesn't work to make it work bootloader needs to be unlocked I did that(unlocked the boot loader) then flashed stock recovery and it worked but after locking the boot loader with fastboot oem lock same issue happened again couldn't boot into recovery.

To flash ANY partitions, u must unlock bootloader even if the partition is critical or not. And to prevent the boot/recovery image damaged error, u must flash stock boot/recovery images along with vbmeta.img ( also extracted from stock, same build ).

Moto X Pure XT1575 Stuck at bootloader unlocked screen and stuck at twrp logo

So i was recording a video, when it entered a state where I had to reboot the phone. I did so, and it got stuck. I did a hard reset. The phone then gets stuck at bootloader unlocked. I entered fastboot, selected recovery, and it gets stuck at the twrp logo. Any ideas? I also re-flashed twrp and it still get stuck.
Can you boot TWRP with 'fastboot boot twrp.img' and do anything? (Replace 'twrp.img' with your TWRP image filename)
If not, try fastboot flashing back to stock, but it kind of sounds like your emmc (internal storage chip) might have take a dump. Very unusual, but not unheard of.

I used a restore-to-stock tool. It didn't actually restore me to stock. I have NO CLUE what it did, but suddenly i saw my custom boot animation again, and was able to boot into twrp, altough my nandroids are gone. I flashed a rom, and it didn't recognize the sim card. I flashed a new rom, and it recognizes the card, but i get no service (in my house where i always get service). Any ideas?

This is why one-click tools are bad... You need to flash the full stock image manually, and not downgrade, you must use the same or newer version of stock firmware than you device last had installed.

Only with twrp you can save your data.
What version did you used? Try with another, maybe don't flash - only boot.
"fastboot boot NameOfTwrp.img"
If it boot copy your data to pc.
Stock you can flash with fastboot, here is "how to", download and flash the highest version for you model:

Read carefully, don't lock bootloader.

how to recover?

Since I lost everything from the boot to the recovery to the system part to anything, i haven't been able to boot the phone;
I can access erecovery but when I try to recover the phone it stops at downloading and then says couldn't connect to servers so that's dead;
I can access TWRP but when I try to flash MM, it returns errors saying that it couldn't mount partitions (Vendor, cust and other...)
I can access fastboot mode. Some people suggested that I should try recovering using dload but the transfert rate to the sd card is taking forever;
Now I extracted everything from update.app using huawei firmware extractor (see http://imgur.com/MWeCCXi ) what should I flash (via fastboot) and in what order?
I would really appreciate the help.

By Nougat I assume you mean the file that has been digged out somewhere in the web and that is floating around here in the forums?
Well we all don't really know what this build exactly is, which makes it very hard to reconstruct your errors and give you advice... I would never flash that but okay, that's why we are here
Do you have a TWRP backup that you can restore (and if no, maybe somebody can upload you a clean TWRP restore file)?
Have you tried flashing CM / AICP?

Hi there. Earlier I spent a few painful hours in the same boat you were in. I've managed to get back to a fresh install of the Nougat build from this thread, but can't seem the downgrade to MM using the (translated from Spanish) instructions found here (linked from that first thread). How did you manage to get back to MM?
(I should add that I tried to flash boot, system and recovery via fastboot without any success).

For the downgrade, I didn't use the b161 directly. I flashed some oeminfo provided in the same folder as the TWRP. Then used b150 ans the three boutons method. Worked like a charm.

Good evening,
please be patient. DLoad and extract with 7zip the firmware from here. Extract the firmware again. Now you have the original boot.img from MIUI.
In Fastboot flash the boot.img with "fastboot flash boot boot.img".
If above method won't work, re-download the rom file, this seems corrupt.
Next time try to fresh flash the rom instead of ota, some ota are broken and would have some issue like this.

Hi,
okay. I think the best way is you flash first the original Firmware from here with Xiaomi Flash Tool. DLoad and install on your PC. DLoad and read this Site.
Now you have the original Firmware installed. Go to settings, about the Phone, Buildnumber. Tab 7 times on it and than go to the Developer. Open OEM and US-Debugging. Reboot into Fastboot. In ADB/Fastboot write "fastboot devices" and your device must recogniced. Than write "fastboot oem unlock". After this you get a reboot to system. Now look again iin settings, devoloper if oem and usb-debugging on. Reboot in fastboot your Phone. Now write again "fastboot devices". Is everythink okay than write "fastboot boot recovery-3.2.1-2-oreo.img". Now you have twrp installed. In twrp flash the twrp-recoveryinstaller-3.2.1-2-oreo.zip. After this you can flash your favoryte Custom Rom. Good Luck :good:

Flash this If you stuck on fastboot or soft brick

Hi so I been seeing many people getting stuck on fastboot after flashing ROM so here is the method u can use if u can't boot to TWRP also.
I have tired on PA ROM and it works so idk about others ROMs ..
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash logo logo.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash misc misc.img (u can get on fastboot rom not .zip)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (recommend used twrp-3.3.1-2-davinci-fix).. Russian one
And after those comands do run TWRP auto installer.
U can find those files from fastboot stock ROM. This will save ur data and u won't needed to flash Stock ROM ..
Hope I explained everything if anything else needed comment down below.
Hi, i'm stuck in this fastboot limbo but can't find some of these files you mentioned: logo.img and misc.img
Where do i get them?
edit: nevermind, solved flashing fastboot miui with miflash pro.
EDIT 2: after flashing a rom i get stuck in fastboot everytime. How to avoid this?
Also tried flashing those files in that exact sequence but still stuck in fastboot.
My persist.img is shown not writable in cmd if I try to flash it. If I flash a rom using TWRP an error pops up saying "failed to mount /persist' (Invalid Argument).
SOLVED- Flashing persist.img from twrp "Install Image" works.

Hi, please follow this setups and it should be fine .
If you run into errors flashing fastboot images to your device, edit the .bat files that came with it. Usually you want to edit "flash_all.bat"
For "Missmatching image and device":
Remove the lines highlighted in the screenshot from the file, save and try flashing it again.
For Antirollback Error:
Remove ALL lines ABOVE the highlighted lines in the screenshot from the file, save and try flashing it again.
Always make sure that you got the right image for your device. Removing check lines from these files can permanently brick your device if you use the wrong fastboot image.

You're able to flash miui 11 after such long time or just 9.8.15?
