Is it possible to port GSI firmware for SM-T350? - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hello. I am new in Snapdragon rom porting, but I have some experience with MTK6580 only.
Now, my main working device is Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM T-350 and I want make it updated.
Having spent a lot of time searching for information, I decided to ask your advice. I'm interested in whether it's possible to port GSI firmware to Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM T-350.
I check the device specs. It is not Treble device. It has a 32 bit soc - Snapdragon 410. The soc A type, if I'm not mistaken.
And moreover, I found the 32 bit GSI Firmware - DotOS 5.2 (Android 12), with A-type support.
This device already has Lineageos 18.1 Go, so I dare say that the kernel should be suitable for Android 12. But, I don't know exactly about this kernel.
If you have some guides or information about such porting, I will be grateful

Devices older than the SM-T350 have been treble-ized so I think it's possible, but I personally have no plans on doing so. You should research which older devices have been treble-ized and study their git changes to see what is required. It likely will require kernel and device tree changes.
As far as I know, no msm8916 device has been treble-ized, but I could be wrong on that.

Some developer who wants to continue fixing the Lineage rom In the A7 2016

I found an abandoned lineage rom if it works, you just have to fix it for the Samsung Galaxy A7 2016
Go ahead.
I could say yes as it is 7580 Soc based device, but i'm unable to provide a stable rom without having the phone in hands, so actually nope :/
@KMXSLR and me working currently on getting oreo on a3, a5 and the s5 neo up and running
ofc we could also bring oreo to the a7 and j7 since all of them are using the Exynos 7580 SoC (well atleast the models that use the 7580 soc)
the problem is that we dont have these devices and we currently see with the a3 and s5 neo that the devices can be totally different
i have an booting oreo on the s5neo but on the a3 it doesnt boot yet
so i can build a rom but i could never guarantee that it actually works
if anyone would send me an a7 i can build a specific rom for it (same goes for the j7)

here is the rom of Lineage I hope you can continue to develop it

Android 7 or 8 for galaxy s5 ?

Hello how can I install Android 7 or 8 on the Samsung Galaxy S5 (sm-g 900f) ? Are there contraindications to this? Thanks
LineageOS already has its initial release of Android Oreo for S5, but it's still too buggy. I suggest you the Nougat release, This one has several characteristics that makes it the most suitable ROM for S5. These characteristics including but not limited to:
1. Small in size (about 300 MB (not including GApps).
2. Already rooted.
3. Fast and lite.
4. Latest Android Nougat version (7.1.2)
5. Supported by all S5 variants (including Duos).
Just go here and pickup your ROM based on your S5 variant and follow the instructions.
Hope that helps
Thanks a lot
In fact the Android Pie is also available for S5 via LineageOS 16, which is ported by @haggertk (one of the director of the LineageOS team).

(question) how to upgrade device tree?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A7 2015 (A700FD). The phone is currently in Android 6.0 and there are no more upgrades for it. I wanted to upgrade to Android Oreo or Pie, so I did some research How to Build a Custom Rom, and everything worked out except the device tree compatible. I found a GitHub thread for A700FD but the device kernel is for CM12/Andoid Marshmallow. I need a guide on how to upgrade the device kernel to oreo or pie. I would like to continue developing for A700FD device. Anyone know how to upgrade a device tree. Doesn't matter the device you are using, I just need the procedures. Thanks!

I'm going to build LineageOS 15.1 for Samsung Galaxy A7 2016/w Qualcomm 615

As title, I'm going to build one and send it online. This is my first time trying to build an Android distribution so I may not be able to offer any technological help. Sorry for possible errors.
Make it for Exynos 7580
this SoC have much people
and we have a git of Bunnyy to compile

Dead develepoment for spreadtrum version?

Hi guys
today I have the question that if the developement of Tab E (T560) with spreadtrum SC8830 is death? i had this model with this processor and i do some research in this forum and i see only nougat 7.1.2 instead of the Snapdragon version (T560NU) that has android 10
someday we will see android 8.1 or 9 for this version?
thanks in advance
gitanillo87 seems to be the only person making a 7.1 ROM for the T560. It's unclear to me how he/she is doing it without seeing the source files.
The T560 kernel source is available at Samsung Open Source website so it's possible that Android 8, 9, and 10 could be built, but I don't have the T560, only the T560NU where I have built 17.1.
