Key DifferencesMain differences and advantages of each chip
Pros of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
Has a smaller size transistor (4 versus 5 nm)
Shows better (up to 30%) AnTuTu 9 score – 1040K vs 802K
Announced 1-year later
6% higher CPU clock speed (3000 vs 2840 MHz)
Better instruction set architecture
——————————————————————————————————————————————
Final Words:
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is built on a 4nm process node and developed on ARM’s latest Armv9 CPU architecture. While last year’s Snapdragon 888 chipset was fabricated on a 5nm process and built on older Armv8 CPU architecture.
Thus, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is better because with smaller process nodes and newer CPU architecture comes better performance and advanced security.
Both chipsets have the same 1+3+4 cluster design. But the cores and frequency have changed in favor of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The newer cores are more powerful and efficient.
Overall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’s CPU is 20% faster than the Snapdragon 888 while also reducing power usage by up to 30%.

Honor 6 plus is bulletproof they showed a video as such but dont know what they are advertising by that.
3D UI interface also introduced where basically icons widgets etc are 3d'ish in style and usage.
Lots of camera features ofcourse as it is the main highlight.
Chip is Kirin 925 and not 64bit K930. But makes sense they will introduce K930 on Ascend P8 coming CES.
Priced at 2499 for high end version which has dual 4g sim, and 1999 for standard version.
When can officially buy?
Huawei Honor 6 plus volume is very low.
where did you guys buy it form?
Pompmall via the Huaweimobileshop. Left 2 days after order paid for. Bought Monday, arrived in UK with me on Friday. Etowalk now have them as well as others but Etotalk are trusted too.
Isn't that the same benchmark score as the normal Honor 6 puts out?

Glad to see the Wolfson is confirmed!
Some more new information.
The A57 cluster is now 9mm^2, whereas the A53 cluster is 2.9mm^2. The Mali T760MP8 GPU cluster is 18 mm^2. Total area 78 mm^2, down from 113 mm^2 in 5433 in Note 4. This is a whole new silicon compared to 5433.
This was the 20nm 5433 block.
Compare this to new values as we see a very substantial reduction. Korean source speculated it's SOC + DRAM and Modem + NAND packaging.
WSJ reports not all S6 have same LTE modem, some models also use Qualcomm (9x45?). So this can be dependent on network/country.

Redmi Note 2 MT6795m?

I bought the phone from this store (AliExpress), really great phone and it's probably the best value for money on the market, but my phone (model 2015052) only shows that it has a MT6795m, but really it should just have the normal MT6795.
I understand that the prime version has the turbo editon, but is it really the M version or is it just a error in the software?
We did some research, and all the standard version (51 and 52) reports MT6795M through /proc/cpuinfo, which is what the kernel directly reports, so can't be easily modified with software (like build.prop and all the apps reading that: CPU-Z, Antutu, etc.)
Is it bad that it has a 'm'? Just asking as I dont know the difference
It's a slightly downclocked version, nothing bad about it.

Here are some official-looking specs outlining the different variants, hope this helps: http://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2015/08/el-helio-x10-tiene-3-variantes-mt6795t-mt6795-y-mt6795m/
Well, it still being a nice chip in my opinion, we shouldnt be worried about it doesnt support bigger screen resolution than full hd, and maybe if we got lucky someone could find the way of overclocking that GPU , anyways 550mhz isnt that bad.
Thank you both for your reply
There are 3 versions of MT 6795m ( Helio x10 ).
1. 6795m with 2.0ghz cpu and 550mhz gpu , which is present on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 ( 16gb )
2. 6795 with 2.2ghz cpu and 550mhz gpu
3. 6795t with 2.2ghz and 700mhz gpu, which is present on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime ( 32gb )

Nice, thank you for the image, it seems Turbo version of this chip is more optimized. I wonder if is possible to change this through kernel settings in m version, but it would be hard as there isnt source code of this chip , hope it get leaked soon hahaha.

Qualcomm 8 Android Headunits

Hi All, OEM radio died and looking into Android HU. ~2 yrs back was curiously shopping for Boison (PX6) but 2yrs is a lot of time. BTW, they are rebranded as KCBoison but I get the sense they've stopped improving and just selling old stock.
I'm now seeing Andriod units with "advertised" Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chip (not sure if this is Gen 1 or Gen 2) with DDR5 RAM.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 1: Year-on-year improvements amplified by better efficiency
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the latest iteration of Qualcomm's flagship chipset, but how good is it really?

I know it is tricky b/c there are a bunch of cheap stuff out there and too many generic names to differentiate vendor (rebrand) vs manufacture. It also doesn't help most listings do NOT list detailed specs such Radio chip, Amp chip, DSP chip, etc.
Does anyone have feedback, thoughts, experience on this Forefeel (poorly translate name) D5 unit (QCM 6-128G DVR) for $293.31 shipped? It is a full kit with bezel and wiring harness. For +$30 more, I can opt for 4 camera 360 view system (QCM 6-128G 360), which lists Sony lens (sounds too good to be true). I'm in contact with the vendor to see if I can get more specific specs. So far, they provided image of the back of the unit and confirm it is Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip. While I don't like slim tablet housing, this comes with a built in fan. Interesting to note it has optical outlet (#13).
-Qualcomm Snapdragon 665
-6G RAM (unclear but think DDR5 with Qualcomm units and DDR4 for others)
-128G ROM
-1280x720P (9")
-Wireless Carplay/Andriod Auto

KCBoison's product specs look dated but I LOVE they actually list ALL spsecs AND show what the back of the unit looks like! They seem to be the few that had single DIN housing instead of slim tablet housing (bad for summer heat dissipation) for 9" units.
