[SOLVED] After downgrade from OxygenOS 12 to OxygenOS 11 it asks me for PIN which I never set up and asks to "log in using one of the owners accounts" - OnePlus 8T Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi!
I recently bough Oneplus 8T. I was using it for about 2 weeks. Everything stock, no modifications. Today (13 March, 2022) I unlocked bootloader ( and before entering fastboot to unlock the bootlader, I didn't manually delete google account from it). It worked OK. I booted into the same OS, logged in. Everything was working. Then I followed THIS guide to downgrade from OxygenOS 12 to OxygenOS11. I downloaded the Apk for local update, then downloaded the Downgrade package, inserted that package to this app, it loaded successfully and then I rebooted (again, I didn't delete Google account manually). It worked well: first it booted into recovery and wiped data itself, then rebooted again into OxygenOS 11. Now here's the problem. I connected to the Wifi, moved forward, and then I had a prompt "Verify PIN. Your phone was reset to factory settings. To use this phone, enter your previous PIN." The thing is, I'VE NEVER SET UP ANY PIN CODE. I WAS ALWAYS USING THE SAME PATTERN. But I noticed "Use my Google account instead" below this message. I thought, "thanks God". I clicked that, I entered my gmail, my password ( I'm using only 1 gmail, I've never had any other gmail). I logged in to Google account successfully, but it says "Please sign in using one of the owners accounts to continue" and jumps back to the google account login prompt. Well, I am the only owner, because It's brand new phone, I also use only one gmail, so I couldn't missmatch accounts. In this moment, my phone is just useless piece of metal and glass. I can't use it. Can anyone help me please? Thank you in advance.

[EDIT] Google is so smurfing smurf. They just make noobs like me go crazy, and get heart attack, in fear of loosing phone. All I did was followed THIS video, which uses "exploit" to enter chrome-> settings -> disable google play services, and then you can log in normally, and factory reset within system, which removes google account properly. [Q] CM7-18: No Market / Contact

Hi
I updated from CM7-17 to CM7-18. Now Market doesn't start and all Contacts are gone. I installed gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip from recovery menu, but no luck.
I have the feeling that somehow my gmail login data got lost. Also after update I got a screen to log in to the SIM Network. Never saw this before.
Do I have to reset to factory defaults ? Hope not. Does not want to loose again all my games and stuff.
Thanks and best regards
paines
Update: Later i realised after updating boot.img to fxp018 too, that I have no set/select key. All would act as "back" buttons.
So I flashed boot.img from fxp017 and then also installed the updated.zip from fxp017. I then needed to enter my Gmail credentials, and now everything seems normal again.I guess there are some major issues in fxp018.

[Q] Can I root the Nexus 7 (2012) without logging into a Google account?

I've recently upgraded to the 2013 Nexus 7 and want to give my old Nexus 7 to my nephew. It is currently unlocked and rooted (4.4.2) under my account. I want to go back to factory (basically wipe the tablet) but keep it rooted for him. Can this be done without going through the Google account set up (I don't want to tip him off with e-mails to his account about the new device)?
Google account creation or login is not mandatory after a factory reset, and performing a factory reset in either the stock or custom recovery does not need a Google account either.*
A Google account can be set up/connected any time after skipping that step by starting the Play Store app.
To do any initial customizations following a factory reset (even without a Google account credential) though, you will need to connect to a WiFi AP.**
* something to watch out for is if your root app is not installed as a system app but as a market app - a factory reset will delete app portion, so restoring the app portion will either require a sideload (of a backup of the) .apk, or a google account to download it again from the market.
** perversely, the WiFi router does not need to be connected to the internet; after the tablet is connected to a router , the WiFi setup screen on the tablet will eventually time out and let you continue. This suggests a means to partially configure a tablet following a factory reset without the tablet ever "phoning home".
good luck
Edit: From your post it is not evident whether you are planning (i) a factory stock install followed by re-rooting, or (ii) have a lightly-rooted stock that you merely want to perform a factory reset on. In either event a solution would be to make sure that SuperSU is installed as a system app. That way 100% of your root kit will survive a "factory reset" procedure in the recovery. In the case of (i) you can certainly reconnect to your own Google account to download the newest version of SuperSU, get it installed as a system app (I think that is a menu item in the SuperSU app), and then do a "factory reset" afterward.

Device lockout

Have a Moto X Pure (XT1575). Was running L the I did OTA to MM. Everything working great. Unlocked bootloader - Good. Installed TWRP - Good. Installed TruPureXMM and ran it without issue for full day signed into my google account. Factory reset and can no longer activate the device. Says to sign in with owner account which is my account. How do I fix this?
That's weird after I unlocked my bootloader it never asked me that again. But just Put Your Gmail account that you previously used
I've tried my account. Always comes back with same error. Even when I choose the "what's my account" link or whatever it says it shows my phone number and my account but does not get past that screen. Have tried factory resetting it multiple times. Nothing!

Click to collapse
When I logged in I had to go to this link to unlock my google account for phone activation.

Also make sure you are on WiFi
ive had this problem... only way i can seem to fix it to to do a factory reset inside the phone while running (not in TWRP). hopefully you have a backup. this deletes the google account.
I figured the issue was on Google's end so I ended up just flashing the CM13 alpha build available for our XT1575 w/o GAPPS and was able to get everything working even after flashing a gapp package. Going to try going back to stock again tonight and hopefully Google lets me back on otherwise CM13 it stays. (Which is running pretty great for me!)
I got locked out of my device last night. I was able to use the restore to stock tool, then flash SlimLP and gapps and sign into my google account. From what I've read the lockout should only last 72 hours. Can anyone confirm?

Just got this phone today and now I have the OPs issue. I guess there isn't a work around for this?

Looks like I'm waiting 72 hours.
If you are unlocked and have a rom with USB debugging turned on, you can get out of the mess. See my post at the TruPureXMM thread.

After 72 hours I was able to sign into google. I was able to confirm the security lockout by logging into google on the computer, I was alerted that a unknown device tried to log into my account and that I needed to secure my account.

OPT not accepting gmail account after factory reset

Hey,
my OnePlus 2 was driving me crazy so I had to factory reset it.
After that I was asked to log in to my old Google account, which I did, but it wasn't accepted. It said I have to use the account that was used before. I'm a 100% sure that I used the correct account, though.
I tried to bypass the authentication by using the keyboard settings method. I've also tried to flash a ROM via recovery and fast boot, but the bootloader wasn't unlocked, so that didn't work either.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it?
I'm using a OnePlus 2 A2001 with the newest OxygenOS version.
Thank you in advance!
/EDIT: Okay, the problem is fixed, but I don't really understand how. After rebooting the phone I was able to configure the settings, but after that I was asked to log in to my old Google account again. After I tapped the button to log in the same message popped up over and over again. I decided to reboot the phone again and got to the home screen immediately, everything works fine now.

Can't sign in to my Google account

Hello XDA Community!
I have a problem with my Google account. I've downloaded Resurrection Remix for my SM-J500F. It worked perfectly (Amazing ROM!). Today, in Tuesday, my phone signed me out of my phone (I need to add that I needed to reboot my phone 3 times, because it didn't load the OS). Now I can't sign in to my Google accounts (2 on the phone). When I enable Google Play, it says: Checking Data, after it I give my account name and password, after it again "Checking Data" and again my account information. I tried to log in 10 times. Can you help me?
Thank you in advance.
Is your clock working properly and shows the correct time for your time zone? Login fails if this is not the case.
