When use MIflash to install MIUI, showed erasing 'boot_a' failed, remote: 'partition table doesn't exist - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

My phone is MI A1 tissot, the system used be Android one, I want to install MIUI so I wipe all... There is no system on the phone now.
When I use MIflash to install tissot_images_V10.0.24.0.PDHMIXM_20200810.0000.00_9.0_49f16fd30d.tgz
It showed as the pic.
I also tried many ROMs, not working either.
I could use
fastboot reboot bootloader
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.0-0-tissot.img
to enter recovery.
Tried install zip file through recovery is not working either, showed
Updater process ended with error: 1
Error installing zip file
How could I solve this issue and install MIUI system?

Or you use a Twrp to flash a .zip rom or Miflash Fastboot rom(TGZ).
No need for Twrp with Miflash.
Try another Miflash or flash with Twrp

First Time Install / Clean Flash
1. Download the proper flashable ZIP for your device
2. This ROM is treble enabled so you need to install treble enabled TWRP (link given below)
3. Once you are inside this TWRP go to tissot manager and make your system trebled enabled and reboot TWRP recovery
4. Wipe Data/Cache/System
5. Flash the ROM
6. Reboot to Recovery Format data type yes and slide (THIS WILL WIPE YOUR INTERNAL PARTITION)

[ORIGINAL FIX] TO GET RID OF Data Encryption Problem On AOSP & Other Roms

The solution is very simple and ive tested it on more then 5 different senarios when i get the bug.
1. install TWRP recovery (you can even sideload it with fastboot if you dont wanna install it on phone(if you got stock recovery etc.), with this command "fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-m8.img"
2. make a full wipe, check all boxes except external SD :highfive:, that will erase /data/media and also /data where the encryption bug lies.
3. install your ROM or restore your ROM from backup.
4. then reboot recovery and flash the recovery you want (or sideload it with the command above).
5. done, now the encryption bug is gone :good:
if this still dont work, try the solution given by maxrdlf95 in his thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773203

So, what youre basically saying is wipe data? I think the point is most people dont wanna do that, and doesnt the other fix allow you to fix the issue without wiping? Just trying to understand...

Make a full backup of your ROM first, then my steps (cwm, philz won't work).
Then Restore backup...
Philz and cwm won't wipe the important parts, so with them the bug will still be there. So twrp with all options check will do the trick.
This method worked for me. I selected all options except external sd card when wiping. Wiping failed. Then I went to format data, typed in "yes" and formatted my internal storage. I then went back to select all option to wipe everything and surprisingly "It Worked", I was able to wipe everything and restore my rom successfully.
Thanks for this!!! (AT&T User!)
Sorry...wrong thread

Nobody is going to know what that means. You need to provide details and specifics on what you tried, what exact step you got stuck, including details on error messages or other results on the phone's screen, computer screen, etc.
Responding with one sentence like you did, and expecting anyone to be able to help, is not the proper way to post or ask for help.
You can't install TWRP with a locked bootloader. You need to unlock the bootloader via HTCDev.com. If you had problems with the bootloader unlock process, you need to be specific on what step, and what errors you encountered; of you expect us to advise you.

How to remove TWRP recovery?

as the title says how do i remove the TWRP recovery to the stock one? i am getting OTA updates and TWRP is not allowing me to complete it. Please help me!!!
Hello!
I managed to do the OTA update on my HTC Desire 820. The trick is that it replaces the original recovery.
By this method you can also restore the original recovery.
1. Download the OTA Update but do not install.
Go to Options -> About phone -> Software updates
2. Open file explorer and go to Download folder (/storage/emulated/0/Download) and find zip file with update and open it.
3. Open firmware.zip
4. Copy "recovery.img" to sdcard for example.
5. Replace recovery.img
To this step I use "Flashify" app from Google Play.
Run Flashify and select "Recovery image".
Select "Choose a file" and select recovery.img
Select "YUP!" and wait.
Don't restart your device.
6. Install update
Go to Options -> About phone -> Software updates and select "Install now".
Click OK. Now your device install update.
This operation takes a few minutes.
7. Final
Managed to do the OTA update.
If you want you can install other back recovery.
In the event of the emergence of a new update you can do the same.
I hope that helped. Best regards.
thanks for posting that.
But as soon as the OTA down load, the file get deleted. Do you have the recovery image?

Ok, I think I am missing something. I will tell you what I have done so far.
1) I have a china version of htc 820u.
2) I managed to flash it using official India version using,
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip <India version of official rom>
3) I have rebooted and everything ok till I have tried "software update"
4) It was giving me an error that " the phone is modified"
5) I managed to copy the OTA file from phone and extracted the firmware.zip and from that recovery.zip
6) But only way to image the recovery.zip is at HBOOT. since I dont have flashify
7) I have installed recovery image of the 70MB ota through,
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot recovery <recovery image from 70MB ota>
8) I rebooted the phone and tried to install the "software update" but same error.
9) I flashed the firmware.zip from 70MB ota through,
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip <firmware from 70MB>
10 I rebooted the phone and tried to install the "software update" but same error.
I am stuck here, anyway can you help me . I am stuck with no update. I dont have China version of ROM also for reverting

I need your help. I bricked my phone while installing lolipop firmware. I cant even boot to recovery. The battery is getting charged. When i hold both the volume buttons the phone switches on and then gets stuck at white screen with htc logo.

Where's your bootlodder information ?
either do "fastboot getvar all" or give me snap of your boot lodder
To go boot lodder
1.Power off phone
2.HOLD VOL DOWN + POWER for just 5-10 sec

- According to your HBOOT ur phone already has lollipop so in this situation there is no rollback to KITKAT.
- Can you flash TWRP recovery see here how to flash? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsn6co4Ve6M
- Download this twrp lollipop backup https://mega.nz/#!7NcyhJhT!p0AVHYCe6JYZnsD9dac04eraDaNAFLkmc9xWXjlZ5FE
- Put in SD card and wipe cache | system | delvik cache | factory reset & restore this backup
SDcard1/ TWRP/BACKUP/SH4AVYC01134/PUT THE DOWNLODED backup folder here
- If above twrp backup worked you are lucky,if not then
- Looks Like this is the file you need "0PFJIMG_A51_DTUL_L50_DESIRE_SENSE60_MR_hTC_Asia_India_2.10.720.1_R_Radio_01.01.010_U10305041_08.01.50512_release_453048_signed.zip " but i found it on http://www.ir-file.com/ where we need to pay to create account & download
Thanks. I tried to flash Lolipop RUU which i got from one of the site but i m getting the following error when i use fastboot.

Twrp .img file to big for flashing?

So I recently got a moto x style (pure) running android 6.0 marshmallow and have unlocked the bootloader. But when trying to flash twrp 3.1 I get this message

Is there anyway to fix this and how can I fix it?
What command did you enter?
"fastboot flash..."?
Your recovery partition (mmcblk0p32) should be about 11264 blocks @ 4096kB per block so ~46.14MB... more than enough room for TWRP with 40%+ to spare.
What is the command you entered EXACTLY and can you boot TWRP successfully?
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-0-clark.img

It's recovery... It has its own partition only for that, has nothing to do with app space.

Your problem is clear, you don't have a Moto X Pure/Style, you have a Moto X 2nd Gen or Moto X 2014 (which is sometimes called "Pure" but it's different), try this one: https://twrp.me/devices/motorolamotox2014.html

I don't know the intricacies of that device... Some devices you can't boot recovery directly with fastboot and that's normal
Honestly you should go to the Moto X 2014 area and read or ask there. Not trying to blow you off, you are just more likely to get right answers there.

i flashed the twrp by squid.i can flash twrp successfully, and even boot in twrp, flash roms and stuffs using twrp and then boot into that rom too.problems arise when i flash stock recovery, boot, modem.thing is, the size of those (say boot.img is abt 16MB, when i try to flash it using fastboot, the size which is getting flashed(shown by sending...) is abt 32MB.it's very strange, but also the only thing i can relate to the error message i get 'Image size exceeded partition limits'.

You downloaded & upacked stock from here:

Flashed modems/baseband this way:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
And now you haven't any sim or wifi?

the problem started when i went to flash stock.not from your link though.by seeing the file size in the link you provided i can say it might be the same file.the thing is that when i tried to flash the boot, recovery and modem they showed that 'Image size exceeded partition limits'.so when i observed the file size that was getting flashed(say stock recovery which is about 16MB),it showed that the size of the file getting flashed is 32MB.this is very strange. however, when i tried flashing twrp which is 8156KB,it showed that the file size getting flashed is 8156KB.
so even when the boot, recovery and modem steps failed to get flashed(flash partition gpt.bin and bootlader not getting flashed i know the reason) i tried booting, which obviously didn't boot.so next i flashed twrp and then a custom rom,it booted!! but everything related to modem, like wifi, sim, etc were broken.i think it is expected. also now the software status is showing 'modified'.
I don't know why.
Maybe try another version min.adb&fastboot(uninstall previous first)
https://freeandroidroot.com/download-minimal-adb-and-fastboot-all-versions/ @debojyotidey

LG V20 US99610f Flashing TWRP assistance.

So here's my story.
V20 Bootloader unlocked via LG's web site.
US996 version 10f
DEveloper and usb debugging enabled also side load usb.
USB set to photo transfer.
This one setting has me wonder under getvar all (bootloader) secure:yes
I boot into fast boot by plugging in usb cable while holding volume -
Issue the following commands below first to verify device then to flash .(Basically I renamed twrp-3.0.2-1-us996.img to recovery.img)
It then says finished after flashing recovery, I unplug the usb cable and pull the battery.
Put battery back in, hold down volume - and power button. LG splash comes up, I release then
press the power button.
From there I get a white factory reset data sreen.
I feel like I'm missing a step yet I don't.
All suggestions welcome.
My goal is to flash TWRP then Magisk.

If you have flashed TWRP onto the recovery partition you can go ahead and continue with the "factory reset". Typically this would issue a factory reset using the stock recovery image, but if you have TWRP it'll just take you to TWRP instead.
Just be sure to flash TWRP in fastboot and then immediately factory reset to enter TWRP. Once in TWRP make sure to "allow modifications". This will prevent the stock recovery from returning. If you boot into the system without allowing TWRP to "modify" the system (remove the stock recovery restoration) it will reset your recovery back to the stock on system boot. If the stock recovery ends up restored and you issue a "factory reset", it'll actually factory reset.
Nut, you effin rock.
That was it, Twrp and rooted woo-oo!!
Was there another step for safety net to work?

You're welcome! Great to hear it all worked out.
No extra steps for safety net. Just install the latest Magisk (14.0) and you should pass safety net without issue. The magisk manager application can do a check for you to verify you pass.
And it did! Thanks again!

I'll be receiving a US996usatn by the weekend and I'm trying to get the process down. I'm getting confused with all the dirty santa, dirty elf, and recowvery stuff.
In my case, I believe none of that is needed, correct?
Did you flash the "no-verity" zip at all in your unlock and root process? I'm not sure what it is or if it's needed with the US996.
What I think should be done (please correct if I'm wrong):
Unlock BL thru LG dev site instructions
Flash twrp
Boot twrp with button combo
Factory reset white screen>yes
Swipe to Allow modification
Wipe data
Flash Magisk or SU
Done?
From all that I've read, your original post made the most sense to me and hopefully is the only method I need to know to root.
