Unboxing & First Impressions | OPPO Find X5 | OPPO Ambassador - OPPO Find X5 Pro General

Hello, fellow community members. The device has finally arrived after a long wait & struggle with the customs and I can finally give my Unboxing and Initial Impressions of the device.
I would like to again thank the @OPPO Ambassador Team for providing me with this great opportunity to test out the OPPO Find X5.
Let's get to the unboxing of the device.

The box in which the phone comes in is quite nice & minimal. OPPO has gone with the grey & black combination for the packaging, similar to the OPPO Find X3 Pro's box.
Also, the branding on the box is similar with a huge "5" branding on the top and the device name "OPPO Find X5 5G" at the bottom.
To the left is the Hasselblad logo in black and on the right side is "OPPO | Hasselblad" text branding.
Opening up the box you are first greeted with a small package.
The small package contains a Sim Ejector Pin, an Exclusive Service Card, Quick Start Guide & Safety Information booklet & a soft cover to protect the device from bumps and knocks.
The included case that you get here is quite nice. I liked that OPPO has included a good case in the box that I can use instead of a plain transparent TPU case, which most brands usually include.
The cover has a lip at the front and also surrounding the camera cutout which helps elevate & avoid the camera bump from touching the surface & protecting the lens from scratches.
Below the small package is the phone itself wrapped around in a protective sheet with a pull tab to lift the phone out of the tray that it resides in.
Lastly, underneath the tray, you get a charging brick which is rated to charge at 80 watts, a USB-A to USB-C cable & a USB dongle to seamlessly transfer data from your old phone.
Here's a quick rundown of the list of things that you get inside the box along with the phone.
• Charger
• USB Data Cable
• USB Dongle
• SIM Ejector Tool
• Safety Guide
• Quick Start Guide
• Protective Case
• USB Dongle
• Exclusive Service Card
My first impression of the phone is that it looks and feels very premium. I absolutely loved the smooth texture of the back. I will reveal more about it in my detailed review but so far I really like the looks of this device.
The one that you see here in the picture is the white variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration.
OPPO was also kind enough to send me a special gift along with the phone, a frame of their custom Imaging Chip, MariSilicon X. This is the same chip found inside the OPPO Find X5 series.
The unboxing experience has been great so far, looking forward to share my detailed review of the OPPO Find X5 in the coming days.
Stay tuned for the detailed review. Thank you.

I saw that too. It was out of stock (Bang Good) by the time I went back and decided on a case though, so I've just got the plain one for now. Let me know what you think. It should protect okay, if my physics is correct. Some scratches on the metal though.

Hi @TazSung,
I dont expect the perfect protection if you use the official Z Case. But, it definitely looks very good and most of the drops on corners should be safe! I already bought mine :highfive:
I´m to lazy to write atm. So here´s just a preview-video with all accessories and benchmark-test which are incredibly insane. :cyclops: My grey one is on its way, beside the Nubia Z11.
UMI Z Unboxing
I have the flip cover case. But it's neither Black nor dark blue as shown on the pictures on the original homepage (http://www.umidigi.com/page-umi_z_flip_cover.html). It's a light blue. Similar to Jeans.
The cover fits well but when it's closed the the front cover can be moved too easily. When this happens the magnet which normally locks the phone is moved away from the sensor and the display gets on. This can happen when you have your phone in the pocket. So most of the battery is used for display and it last not a whole day. This annoys me a little bit. If it's closed you can see a round watch (analog or digital). On the umidigi homepage you can read that the dial plates will be customizable. But it's not possible yet. At least I haven't found an option.
When you flip the cover it's a little bit difficult to hold the phone in your hand as the phone will be locked when the magnet is directly in position. So the cover has to be a little bit more left or right which makes it uncomfortable to hold.
Maybe I will switch to the clear case.
By the way I bought it on AlibabaExpress.
I am rather disapointed with the Black Smart View Window Flip Cover.
If you flip back the front, while holding your phone.. the magnet will trigger the phone to lock itself.
Worth noting iPhone 7 plus cases can fit with small adaptations for headphone and volume buttons ..at least offers more choice

OPPO Find X5, Step 2: The Unboxing + Surprise

Hello Everyone, XDA,
Here we come. I've just received my OPPO Find X5 as an OPPO Product Ambassador.
You will find the previous thread about Step 1 here: A new journey: The OPPO Product Ambassadors, Step 1
I could have gone for just some pictures here and there for the unboxing; however, I decided to pay it unsafe and make a video of it.
Any critics are good for me and will help me to improve, so don't hesitate to comment and tell me your thoughts.
And yes the surprise is the MariSilicon X NPU Chipset itself sent with the OPPO Find X5.

The Box:
Let's start with what is in the box:
Phone x 1
Charger x 1
USB Data Cable x 1
SIM Ejector Tool x 1
Safety Guide x1
Quick Start Guide x 1
Protective Case x 1
USB Dongle (Type-A to Type-C) x 1
Exclusive Service Card x 1
The box weight is around 623g. Meaning you will find inside the Charger 80W SuperVOOC and the Smartphone, USB cable, and the protective case (TPU)
The packaging is nice with only two colors, dark grey and black, premium colors. You can see a big 5 in front with the name of the Smartphone and a Silver 5G for showing its compatibility with the latest connectivity.
On the left side of the box, only the famous H logo for Hasselblad. On the right, OPPO and Hasselblad, both together, are presently showing their partnership.
Only the Android Robot with "Easy to access to the Google apps you use most" is present on the back.
I'm a little bit disappointed not to see a logo of the SoC used in the phone (whatever Mediatek or Snapdragon, it would have been nice to have them) as well as the mention of the MariSilicon X NPU.
On top of it, the classic information is IMEI, Product number, variant, SN, and Gencod.
I didn't see any Recycle logo. Quite the opposite, the "don't trash it" and "Contains SOYOIL." Theoretically, Soybean oil is one of the most sustainable, bio-renewable, abundant, and economical materials capable of competing with petroleum-derived products.
Except that, nothing more is visible from the outside.
Let's open it.
Inside the Box:
You will first find a black sleeve with the logo OPPO, black on black, containing the protective case, the safety guide in multiple languages, the quick guide and the SIM ejector tool, and the exclusive service card with a QR Code on it.
After removing it, you will find the Smartphone itself, wrapped in its plastics (seems like recycle one, and recycle logos are present, as well the indication where the wireless charger and the fingerprint sensor are located)
There is already a protective film on the screen.
After removing it, you will find another layer of protection, a simple carton with the shape of the smartphone rear.
Under it, the rest of the accessories are the charger, USB Data Cable, and USB Dongle.
And that's all.
Yes, not USB-C to Jack adapter somewhere. The Quick Start Guide is full of Hi-Res Audio, but the Smartphone doesn't have any jack. With the progress made in wireless audio; it might not be an issue for a majority of consumers in 2022. However, if I have a device with this capability, I will use my wired headphones.
Another thing that bothers me is the size of the charger, and its USB port. Its weight is around 106g, which means a lot when you are used to a GaN charger. I'm still wondering why in 2022, no more OEMs integrate chargers with this technology. We will be able to save a maximum of 40% of the space and the weight. And this charger was sent me back years back, especially with a USB Type-A port on it.
The phone:
It's small in my hands, well balanced, and the camera bump is way less than I imagined after saying the Press photos of it. The screen is slightly curved, and the bezels seem thin and symmetric. We can see the partnership between OPPO and Hasselblad on the back.
The color is nice, mat, with some glimpse of glitter depending on how the light reflects. One of the good points is that it would be difficult to see the fingerprint on it.
One thing, or detail, I like is the OPPO green color insert in the power button.
The OPPO Find X5 is still thin and feels great in hands with the protective case. The total weight of the Smartphone and the protective case is around 218g, but as I said, it is well balanced, and I don't really feel it. I even thought it was way less.
And here we are, at the end of this unboxing. Again, thank you OPPO and @OPPO Ambassador Team for this opportunity.
It is time to conclude this step 2 for this journey.
Don't forget to subscribe to the thread if you want to receive notifications.

Unboxing and first impressions of the OPPO Find X5, by the Australian OPPO Product Ambassador

So exciting!

Opening the OPPO Find X5 Box I unpacked the following items:
OPPO Find X5 smartphone in matte black (no, not ceramic backed like its big brother, but still a lovely feel)
Soft Protective Case, also in black
80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charger
USB-C Cable
USB-A to USB-C Adaptor
Premium Service "The Exclusive Benefits You Deserve" Card
SIM Eject Tool
Safety Guide
Quick Guide
The framed MariSilicon X Chip included (the #OPPOAmbassadors ' surprise!) is very cute and a true momento, and something I'll now place on my Desk with much pride, marking my time as an OPPO Product Ambassador.
Bucking the current trend of shipping Flagship Phones without charging bricks, and sometimes even the USB-C cable, it was a very pleasant surprise to find the 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charger, AND the USB-C Cable included. Living in the Land Down Under does come with a few challenges, and I will need to purchase an adapter for the charging brick, as it is the EU version, but a small price to pay.
Coming from the OPPO Find X3 Pro (OPPO's 2021 flagship) I was curious to see if the lovely feel from holding the Find X3 Pro, continued to the Find X5, and it was something I must admit I was hoping for. To step back a little, during my tenure with the Find X3 Pro, I purchased some of its competitors, but always gravitated back to the Find X3 Pro, and I put it down to its weight and due to curved front and back, it felt snug, almost a part of your hand.
And I am pleased to say, while slightly smaller than the Find X3 Pro (and the Find X5 Pro), the Find X5 feels just as snug and as comfortable in your hand, with the added advantage of being easily able to use the Find X5 one handed. It has some weight about it, but that just makes it feels sturdy. In fact, to me, the Find X5 feels as though it would be comfortable to use all day.
The Find X5 has a frosted matt glass back, that sensually curves around the rear of the phone, and while super smooth, it has a sandy appearance up close.
And .... not one fingerprint or smudge (unlike the glossy black finish of its bigger brother)!
Nice subtle marketing of the OPPO Hassleblad co-developed Hasselblad Camera for Mobile, which debuted for OPPO with the Find X5 Series.
I was relieved to see the included soft protective case (I am know to being a little clumsy), as such a new phone, and Australia being a small market, the chances of buying a case locally, right now or in the immediate future, is very slim, or non-existent, so I will use the soft protective case, and grateful for its inclusion. It feels very smooth, but enough friction to make me feel like I'm not going to drop the Find X5. The OPPO logo on the rear is a nice touch, but I would have loved to see either the Hasselblad wording beside OPPO (as it is on the Find X5 itself), or perhaps a cut-out for the Hasselblad wording on the Find X5 to be displayed. Small detail I know, but maybe it could be adopted for Version II (or an idea for a 3rd party case manufacturer perhaps)?
Overall, the way OPPO has presented the Find X5, is how a Flagship should be presented ... with accessories. Kudos to OPPO for bundling the Find X5 with accessories (I haven't used wired headphones/buds for years now, so the non-inclusion here is not a deal breaker for me).
I look forward to getting used to the slightly smaller size, but with the same intimate snug and sturdy feel, and to see what difference the MariSilicon X NPU Chip makes to the camera performance (remembering the Find X5 has the same Snapdragon 888 that the Find X3 Pro had, but no MariSilicon X NPU Chip).
Thank you to OPPO for the chance to be one of the 20 worldwide OPPO Product Ambassadors.
Any questions, comments and thoughts, please do share.

OPPO Find X5 Pro Unboxing | OPPO UK Ambassador

Hello everyone!
Finally got hands on with the new OPPO Find X5 Pro for 1 week now after struggles with customs to get the phone.
So i created this thread for a quick unboxing of the box contents and the phone in general.
Big thanks to @OPPO Ambassador Team for sending over their phone, the gifts together and the opportunity to be in their ambassador team to test out their new OPPO Find X5 Pro
Here below is a quick video showing all the contents when unboxing. This is rather a calming ASMR video with no talking just showing the contents.
Some individual photos of the contents.
First of all the box with a stunning design

Upon opening it you will find another small box containing the manuals, the eject tool for the sim card and a special premium service card with a QR code.
Under the small box you will find a USB-A to USB-C cable for the charger and the new 80W SuperVooc flash charger brick which im happy to see that they don't sell this seperately.
Plus you get a small usb dongle to connect to your pc or old phone to transfer your files seamlessly.
To finish off Oppo sent over a nice gift of their new custom imaging chip Marisilicon X nicknamed as 'MariO' now which comes in that nice frame as well.
Thanks to @OPPO Ambassador Team for that.
This was a quick unboxing and i'll be doing a more in-depth review of the phone soon since i had a chance to use it for only a couple of days. For the next coming weeks i'll be using the Oppo Find X5 Pro as my daily phone for work and routine to see how it performs for my daily needs.

Part 4: Best ColorOS Features and Battery Review (OPPO Find X5 Product Review from the Land Down Under)

For the past couple of weeks, my SIM Card has been inserted into a new OPPO Find X5 (Black, 256GB on-board storage, 8GB RAM, and Model CPH2037), which I received from OPPO (thank you for the OPPOrtunity!), as one of their 20 global OPPO Product Ambassadors. It has become my daily driver, and replaces my previous OPPO Find X3 Pro. The following are my views and opinion only.
In real life, I enjoy Smart Phone technology, and manage all of my online presence (including my twitter (more than 181,000 tweets so far), Instagram and LinkedIn accounts), directly from my Smart Phone.
I’ve broken down my OPPO Find X5 Product Review into shorter sections, which makes it either easier to read everything, or perhaps you may just jump to the topics that are important to you:
Summary
Build Quality and Design, and Overall Performance
Camera Performance and Other Performance Features
Best ColorOS Features and Battery Review (you are here)
Conclusion
Best ColorOS Features:
The OPPO Find X5 could be the most amazing phone, but it’s nothing but a paperweight without the OS (Operating System). ColorOS 12.1 is Android the OPPO way, and at first glance, presents a clean and clear straight forward OS, very similar to the vanilla Android 12 (ala Pixel 6 Pro), but with noticeable extras.
ColorOS brings some tricks and extra apps to differentiate itself above and beyond Android 12. Some of the promoted ColorOS apps, such as Omoji and O-Relax are not available in my region, but for me the following ColorOS extras and settings are must haves and I missed these when I went from the Find X3 Pro to the Pixel 6 Pro briefly:
Special features: this group of settings is all aimed at productivity and fine-tuning the user’s experiences, and includes Flexible Windows, Quick launch, Smart Sidebar (see below) and Simple mode.
Smart Sidebar: gives you extremely quick access, via a retracted sidebar, to extremely productive ColorOs system tools like Screenshot, Screen recording, Screen translate and Recorder. You have the ability to add other apps to the Smart Sidebar’s menu. Depending on which apps you include, these can be pulled out quickly from the Smart Sidebar, to create floating windows, allowing you to multitask across multiple apps, all from one screen. I am truly hooked on this productivity tool … do yourself a favour, and if nothing else, try it out.
Personalisations: this setting allows you a much deeper customisation of Wallpapers, Always-On Display, Icons, Quick Settings, Colours, Font & display size, Fingerprint animation, and Edge lighting. Smart phone users generally align to one of two trains of thought …those who love to customise the look of your phone, and those who are content with out of the box, and for those who prefer the former, this is a very happy place to be.
Digital Wellbeing and parental controls: in a world that is highly connected and everything is in real time, this ColorOS feature assists with working out and implementing changes to regain control of your online activities …. please don’t judge me on my Instagram and eBay usage (I was researching something special for a family member … honest!)

Battery Review:
Having used Mobile Phones from the mid 1980’s, I think I may suffer battery anxiety, and up until the Find X5, have carried a Portable Powerbrick with me. With a 4,800mAh Battery, not set to High Performance Mode, but with the screen refresh set to 120Hz, I can get through a day of usage (videos, posting and commenting on social media, music, instant messaging and emails) … and still have around 33% battery left. But I am comforted by the inclusion of the 80W SUPERVOOC wall-charger, with my Find X5 back to fully charged in approximately 46 minutes. It is important to note that my Wall Charger is not the Australian version and I am using a travel adaptor, which may have an impact on performance, but it's still very quick.
The Find X5 also plays well with other non-proprietary wall-chargers. This is the exact opposite experience I faced with the Pixel 6 Pro, with charging which felt like watching paint dry, and would only play nicely with certain chargers (not that a proprietary wall charger was actually supplied).
For those who are interested, there is also up to 30W wireless charging available (wireless charger performance dependant).
Perhaps no more battery anxiety for me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my Real Life Product Review of the OPPO Find X5. I welcome any questions you may have (noting I'm not an experience Tech Reviewer), and if I cannot answer them, I will seek the answer from either another OPPO Product Ambassador, or from the OPPO Team.
