Is it possible to bypass FRP for S10+ sm-G975USQS4DTF6 - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

So first off, this is not a stolen phone. My neighbor recently passed away and my family was able to buy the house with everything in it. She was quite the hoarder and we found like 20 phones, most were garbage but there were a few S8s and an S10+ preserved in an OtterBox.
When I powered the phone on it was already reset and asking for the previous Pin or Google account.
It's running on SM-G975USQS4DTF6.
The IMEI is clean and it appears to be fully paid off.
I've tried so many different methods (reflashing stock, trying to flash combos, Samsung FRP bypass, etc.) but at this point I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing so I thought I'd ask for some help.
Is there any way to salvage this phone? Or is it as good as a brick at this point?

Meh... we get this once a week or more.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of. Any idea what I could do with the phone? Donate it somewhere where they have the ability to wipe it and give it away to someone? It's just gonna be sitting in a drawer otherwise.
I'll even give it back to sprint, but I was hoping to avoid that since they'll probably just refurbish it and sell it.

Do a Google search. How well those solutions work I have no idea.
At least you didn't get irate like the last poster.
There are solutions and workarounds here though for many other problems with Samsung's.
Plus modes, rooting guides and custom roms.

I appreciate the advice! Unfortunately I've exhausted pretty much every method I've been able to find.
And yeah, you don't need to worry about me getting irate. I totally get it, 99.9% of FRP locked phones are stolen, if you guys encouraged FRP bypass discussions here it would open up a whole can of worms, and that's not worth it for the ~3 people per year who have a legit reason to bypass it.
Thanks for the heads up though! Good to know this isn't the best place to be looking for an answer.

It's a good place for Android answers... just not that one.
FRP is one of my most despised Gookill features.
Worse I have a very long, complex password so entering it by hand is really fun... not.
I disable my account and do the reset from settings to avoid having to deal with it when doing a factory reset. Find my Device is another I hate.
Scoped storage and forced encryption are on the top of my list though. I refuse to go higher then Android 10 because of that Apple like crapware

You will need to go through the process of learning how to root and unlock the phone. I hope there will be enough support or assistance for you on this site and that it being an N9006 won't be too problematic.
I am in China, but went out of my way to avoid the N9002, N9006, N9008 or any other variant they are selling here. I get my hands on the N9005 in a few days, so time will tell if it actually bloody works or not in China. It wouldn't surprise me to find that we are stuck in the same same boat on different shores...

Actually the process looks like it might be easy enough for us:
http://techbeasts.com/2013/09/27/ho...ot-samsung-galaxy-note-3-all-versions-guide/#
Describes the way to do it.
Then you'll probably need to stick the most recent GAPPS on it, if it isn't already on it.
Good luck and have fun getting through the nervousness of rooting your first (I presume) device.
Cheers.
Should I return the n9006?
Hi there - I'm living in Shanghai and just found this thread. I bought the sm-n9006 today and was excited until I started reading about region locking and non-LTE versions, etc.
This is my first Android device so I'm super new but the bloatware on this thing is annoying! I wanted to remove this stuff and get some Google apps installed but I can't even find the Google play app to get started.
I'm concerned that because it's the mainland china version that this is going to be a bigger pain than it's worth. Should I wait a few months and have a family member buy a US model? Any other reasons to stay clear of this china model?
Is rooting the device a must if I want to get full access to apps, etc.?
Also, it seems this model does not have LTE. Is that correct? I ravel/stay in the US over summer holidays. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

The bloatware won't be your main problem, it will be no access to google apps. I wouldn't worry about no LTE, you probably won't notice.
Importantly for Laowai, rooting is necessary, unless you are fluent in chinese, and can therefore use the Chinese markets and apps.
There are quite a few places online to find out how to unlock and root your device - this forum/link above/galaxynote3root.com/etc. I think you'll need about three to four hours of uninterrupted time (as a beginner), a pc (I've used a mac and it is annoying), fast-ish internet speed (to dowload the files), maybe a vpn to look at You tube clips that exemplify (eg, gfwvpn.com is handy and easy to install on both your computer and device), and only a small amount intellect.
You go through the process as above link or elsewhere, and then flash on an updated GAPPS zip if it isn't on the stuff you downloaded.
People here and elsewhere have really made it simple compared to when I first did mine (or maybe I have a little more knowledge). I'm only really just getting the hang of it all now and find it really enjoyable part of Android experience. Actually, just fell in love again with my S3 using CM... Wondering why I am going back to touch wiz, actually...
I'll know on Monday if it was the right choice for me after a day with the new giant phone.
Good luck.
Thanks for the post and information, I am new to android so it looks like I'll have to start doing my research. I am not fluent but certainly advanced so perhaps there are some Chinese options though I assume it'd be a better experience if I had it rooted instead.
Are you in SH by chance? I'd treat you to a coffee or something here in Pudong if so while you tutor me haha.
Thanks again for your help.

Sorry, mate. I'm BJ ren. I'm certain you'd be able to find someone in Shanghai who can root an Andoid device with that offer though.
Good luck.
Hah, no problem. I love BJ but our work is in SH for now. If the air quality would get better up north I'd be pushing to move to BJ.
SM-N9006 More than root needed?
I have the same SM-N9006 purchased in China and now back in the USA. Most of the Chinese in the phone was converted to English through the normal settings. The problem is the Apps... they are all Chinese and need to be replaced with English versions. The current ROM blocks all access to the Google Play Store, even if it is side loaded, it is forcibly closed when opened.
Would it not be better to re-ROM the phone with a Samsung stock ROM that will work with the N9006 hardware? Is there such a ROM?
Please be specific on the steps (not the how to's) that need to be taken to use the N9006 in the USA with the Play Store Apps.
Much Thanks in advance, I'm also a newbie on a learning curve.

I just got this Note 3 SM-N9006, I think mine is rooted that it has everything as if it's normal Note 3 in the US. But I note that it does not show that it connects using 4G/LTE. Does it have 4G/LTE, air command, etc ... capabilities to turn on somehow?
Is there an app that display what really inside your note, I mean the actual hardware of the phone?
N9006 doesn't have 4G/LTE. air command is ok

Really? I wouldn't be too happy to buy a rooted phone from Samsung... you won't get one officially at least. Especially if you bought it in China that would mean its been messed with prior to you buying it. I like my phones coming rooted.
If you had them root it after them unboxing your phone ( hopefully not with Kingo App or some suspicious app that connects to the internet to do its thing ) then your fine. Provided you saw them unbox everything...its not a cheap phone.
If the serial numbers on the box and your phone match ( and the box has some Chinese ) then your fine.
If area under the removable battery didn't have any bright yellow sticker with lots of nasty looking Chinese text, then your fine.
If your in the U.S then its fine you don't need to worry about warranty.... as I am still currently in Shanghai I got mine official with a 2 year warranty.
Sorry if I sound too untrusting of phone sellers here. I have been told of the countless stories about how innocent people buy phones they assume are "new". Just recently I had to help my friend fight some store "official Samsung Store" owner for his replacement of a dead Note 2 dud ( you know those fake recycled phones that are sold in Shenzhen from HongKong that live for 4 months tops ).

Hey I got my self a china made note 3. I would very much like to root it to get some bloat ware off, and to also find a android version 5 rom to feel like a cool kid.
It doesn't have a download mode, that is replaced by a Chinese factory mode.

Can N9006 run 3G or 4G SOMEHOW? Or is there no workaround?
Hello, I am having the same issue someone mentioned about not getting 4G (or even 3G) with the SM-N900 (model N9006) Chinese Note 3. I did not see a solution to the initial post, though. My phone does everything else, but running on Edge is pretty shoddy. I called T-Mobile (my carrier), and they made me enter some settings into the "access point names" tab (apn protocol, port number, etc.). This did not resolve the problem, unfortunately. The back of the phone, under the battery, says it is 3G WCDMA + GSM. T-Mobile runs on GSM, so it should work, I am absolutely stumped. As I said, all the apps work, and it is running Jelly Bean, it's just the slow as molasses internet that bugs me. Is there some sort of solution to this? I could not really find anything worthwhile on any Google searches. Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:
I have n9006 and when I type the star and hash key it Cannot display and when switch the data off it automatically switch on and I don't know what to do with the phone,I cannot use it

[Q] What is Chimera Tool and how does that play into root access?

So, I wasn't paying attention and it bit me. I was given an android phone of my choosing, and i had not done much research beforehand, nor was I told what carrier it was to be on. Since I liked the Note 2, I told the gifter "I'd like the Note 4" and I was given the AT&T Note 4. Not that I can really complain about such an awesome gift (though technically it's a trade, but whatevs), but it turns out there's no root access yet, though it seems the devs that are still working on it are pretty close, according to a thread in the dev forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...s-only/rd-rooting-n910a-n910v-models-t3042045
However, I found some interesting info on another forum while i was digging up info on the root status on the AT&T version of the Note 4. I found this thing called "Chimera Tool". I'm not sure what it's offering, it's something called a "factory unlock" and they charge for it. It seems a little shady, and the official replies are all polite, but in broken English and seem to be over-promising, so I figured I'd come here and see what info the XDA crowd knew about this.
I see on the other site that they report that the AT&T Note 4 has not only root access, but bootloader unlock access via their tool, if you pay them some money. It looks like they want about $20 - $50 to make it work too.
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f898/note-4-t-sm-n910a-root-problem-1899963/
Here's the page that has the awesome claims that their tool can work wonders:
https://chimeratool.com/supportedmodels
What is this tool? Is it snake oil?
What is a "factory unlock"? How is that different from root? How is that different from an unlocked bootloader?
Is a software repair tool. Also can unlock network locks but to do so you must first root it.
Dude, did you find out any information on this chimera tool? Here in Bangladesh, most of the local cellphone repair stores use it for network unlock, flashing, imei repair, and unlocking other kinds of locks. It is a very shady peice of tech as no where in the internet there is much information about this software or any discussion made by the users. But for a fact, I know that this works. Someone wrote somewhere that this is a product of israeli hackers and using it will give the control of your network module to them, but I have no proof if that's true. But it is shady as hell. Let me know if you have more info on this.

LMAO, This is not a product of Israeli hackers, nor is it 'shady'. It is a tool used by shops and repair techs like myself. I use it for Network Unlocks to be able to use the phone on other carriers, it can also read the Network unlock code to enter after inserting a sim card from another carrier, Imei repairs, FRP removal, PIN/pattern removals, Samsung Account unlocks, Root/Unroots, Patch cert files, Software changes, MAC/Network repairs, etc. It is just like using a Octoplus box or a Z3X box; well except you do not have to have a jtag box with a smartcard to use this software, I pay for a license on a per year basis. Its about $140 usd for LG, Samsung, Blackberry, Lumia & MTK cpu phones, as well as a scattered amount of others. But I highly recommend this tool, if you are going to pay to do 5 or more phones per year, it pays for itself quickly.

Lol Hi why should someone run from chimera? I have tried and is not too bad I was able to unlock a couple of phones. But i am not an expert but is there something bad about it? The only bad thing is that their software is not able to unlock from all carriers , I want to unlock a galaxy s10+ from verizon and they only do phones from att and xfinity , is there another software like chimera that are software base only that dont require special equipment like those boxes and cards and wisels .... Thank you

Unlock bootloader for Fire HD 8 6th Gen

I just got couple Fire HD 8 6th Gen tablets for my kids, and thought I'd flash them right away with a custom ROM. I was quite disappointed with the absence of development for this tablet.
Anyway, as far as I understood from reading the forum (and I just started, sorry if I missed something), the first problem is the factory locked bootloader. And it sounded from a post I read like it's something that cannot be solved: http://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/help/rooted-boot-img-t3508316 (bootloader locked discussion starts at the bottom of the 1st page).
Well, I am definitely not a pro in mobile development (I work on server side software for living), so I beg your pardon if I'm wrong. But unlocking a locked bootloader is not something unheard of.
So, I was wondering, if it could be done for other device, then probably it can be done for this one too. And the fact that it has not been done yet could mean for example, that this device is somehow different. Or, it could mean that there was no one yet with enough expertise AND the device at hand to do it.
So if the latter is true, and it's just lack of attention from good developers. Then I guess it could be arranged to donate a device to a reputable XDA dev. A dev that would be interested in having a challenge. And a free device.
I would definitely pitch in, and if you would too, please tell. And if you know an XDA dev who has expertise to do it, please tell too, and give an example of their work.
All the above is open for discussion of course, constructive suggestions would be much appreciated.
The 7" is locked but got a lot of love and is now rootable. If the guys at Kingroot that interest, we might see something but otherwise not. Until rooted, not much point porting a ROM.
So I suppose the proposition is to send a device to KingRoot guys?
...in China.....
I was wondering how the issue of locked encrypted bootloader was solved for other Fire devices. Here's how it's been done for Fire HDX 8.9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/kin...bootloader-unlock-procedure-software-t3030281 . I suppose the bug used in this method has been fixed already, this is just a demonstration that it can be done.
That was cracked using a crypto bug. Basically exploiting a weakness in the RSA encryption of the bootloader's signature. It's incredibly rare for encryption to get totally broken like this, and easily patched with system updates. Kinda got lucky on that one. Best thing to hope for first is root, then try to find a way around the bootloader's protection. These keep getting exponentially harder, and there's a lot more money on developing protections than breaking them.
I received one as a gift. I will probably never use it unless its opened up.... i mean im appreciative that someone gifted me it. But I become really upset by the fact that samsung and amazon... all the big players really lock up their bootloader and force me onto some ecosystem when i know the tablet or device could work just so much better. Anyways, if there is anything i can contribute let me know...
Download the Kingroot App then run it. After running it once or twice it will ask you to send a device request. Root may eventually be achieved for the 6th Gen but that may be as far as it gets. Very unlikely that the bootloader will be unlocked. Amazon actively puts a lot of effort into keeping them locked. Its been a while since any newer version of these Fire bootloaders have been unlocked. The HD 8 5th Gen is about 2 years old and the only thing thats been achieved was root and that was done by Kingroot..... But hey nothings impossible....

Noob dipping toe in Android waters...

Hi -
As the title says, I'm a total Android noob. I tried a droid phone many years ago, but found it irritating and fiddly, and went with an iPhone. I'm no fan of Apple, but it works pretty good, and as long as I was able to jailbreak the phone, I was OK with it. I think the future of JB for iphone may well be at the end of the road. If I ever have to replace or reload my iphone, then I lose my JB & I'm locked into Apple's walled garden. Unacceptable, as then I lose my ad-block and other items that make the device tolerable.
Realizing that my current iPhone is very likely my last, I snagged a Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T580 to see if I could learn to live with Android. One of my biggest issues with Android is Google. I despise Google and avoid using Google & their services to the greatest extent possible. (Yes, I know, flames and criticism headed my way for saying that ).
I don't want anyone's cloud, mail or other services.; I have my own servers for caldav, mail and file services. I want a stripped down, unbloated, and ad blocking android experience that is as free as possible from google or 3rd party services.
I understand there are other images (Cyanagen, AOKP, etc) but I don't know enough about any of this yet to know what I'd be getting into there.
But as a start, following a guide found here on XDA, I have rooted the tablet, and using Titanium, removed a good bit of the bloatware. I notice that since rooting the tablet, there is a 6 - 8 second delay after entering the pin code and hitting OK before the tablet unlocks. Not sure what that's all about.
There's a lot to learn and a lot of mis-information out there. It's hard to find a straight answer. Any tips or info appreciated as I try and figure out how to get as close as possible to my goal.

My advice.
Ignore built.prop mods. I haven't seen any empirical evidence to prove it does what people say it does. Infact I've read more to say its bolony. However, I did find 3c toolbox improved my battery life on my Galaxy s5 with lineage os installed.
I managed to remove google from my android box. Use aptiode for an app store.
Download F droid,
Install newpipe YouTube client. Then ads are banished forever.
Install ad-away. Helps block ads on browser.
I use mi-explorer.
Don't use greenify or clean master they don't help.
With 3c toolbox and root you can remove a load of rubbish. My basic M8S runs really great with google removed.
I would recommend lineage OS, I have it running on 3 devices so far. I'm the nougat Aosp from this forum on my tab 10.1.

Factory Reset Protection - locked and not responding - Nexus 6P

Hya folks,
I work at a small non-profit and we've got a Nexus 6P that was factory reset without removing the Google account, so it became FRP locked. Unfortunately the phone is not responding to the original Google account (or any others that have been on the phone). We've spoken with Google (who pointed to the manufacturer) and we've spoken to the manufacturer (who pointed to Google) and I'm just plain exhausted trying to sort this out with them. Right now we're looking at selling the phone for scrap, but I thought I'd check in here first just in case because I hate to throw away a perfectly good device. We are the legitimate owners and can provide the original proof of purchase, so there's no issue of legality. We just would like to be able to use this phone again.
If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. I'm comfortable working with Android development tools, albeit I am an amateur, but at this point I'm not sure the risk of bricking the device is really a concern since the next step is calling local stores to see if anyone wants the phone for parts.
Thanks!
