The Best New Features in the OPPO Find X5 Pro - OPPO Find X5 Pro General

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is official and has plenty of new exciting features to talk about. As the flagship phone for OPPO in 2022, this phone is the biggest launch that they will have all year. With that being known, we expect big things from this new photography powerhouse. If you're wondering how this phone is expected to make some waves, check out this list of the best new features in the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Hasselblad CameraWith the latest edition of the OPPO Find series, they have partnered with legendary camera maker Hasselblad. The phone will come with an array of camera sensors that are able to capture fantastic images. Hasselblad brings their MOON Natural Colors to the OPPO Find X5 Pro giving you the most realistic colors possible.
Expect the OPPO Find X5 series to continue the tradition of pushing smartphone photography to new heights. Hasselblad will have you effortlessly taking high-quality shots in their new collaboration with OPPO.
MariSilicon X Imaging NPUThe main camera consists of a 50+13+50MP setup with IMX 766 Flagship dual primary cameras, and the front camera is 32MP. To make the most out of the powerful photography capabilities on this phone, OPPO included a dedicated NPU for image processing. Using this dedicated NPU, the camera will be able to perform better in difficult lighting, produce amazing HDR photos, capture 4K Ultra Night Video, and give you ultra-clear photography.
SuperVOOC ChargingReady for the next leap in charging technology? The OPPO Find X5 Pro is going to deliver with SuperVOOC. This phone is capable of incredible 80W charging. Do you prefer wireless charging? Even with a wireless charging setup, you can get up to 50W charging capability. Of course, reverse wireless charging is available as well, which allows you to use the Find X5 Pro as a wireless charger for compatible devices. You'll have up to 10W of charging power when using this function. With speeds like this, you'll spend far less time charging your phone, and more time enjoying the large 5000mAh capacity.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1OPPO made sure to equip this phone with the latest technology in mobile processing power. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip includes the Adreno 730 GPU. This combination will give you fantastic performance with any apps or games you use on your phone. This chipset produces high performance with very low power consumption, making your phone fast without a lot of stress on the battery. Network quality is also improved with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, as it supports fiber-level low-latency 5G networks. Pair this powerful processing technology with options for 12GB of RAM, and you have one of the most powerful phones on the market.

My Review of the OPPO Find X5 Pro in Ceramic White

I am very excited to have received the OPPO Find X5 Pro in Ceramic White. My model has 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. I have been using this new phone for two full weeks now, as my primary device. This is my review of the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Build Quality / DesignWhen unboxing your phone for the first time, you’ll instantly notice the bold new design choice which features sloped edges around the camera bump. It gives the phone a very fluid look, as if it’s water flowing down from the peak of the device, and runs off the edges. The back of the phone is made of a premium ceramic material which has a very high-end feel to it. This quality extends to the buttons, with very solid and clicky interactions.

The white model that I have has a lot of contrast between the lettering on the back, against the milk-like surface. I really like the way this phone looks and feels, overall.
Performance / GamingUnsurprisingly, this phone is very fast. Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and paired with 12GB of RAM, this phone is pretty maxed out in terms of specs. ColorOS 12.1 is faster and more responsive than ever. Games and apps launch quickly while being able to make 3D graphics look amazing.
I ran a benchmark on my phone to hopefully give a better idea of how fast this phone really is.
One of my favorite games to play is PUBG, which also happens to be one of the most resource-intensive 3D games for Android. When I play on my OPPO Find X5 Pro, I'm able to run the game at the max settings, while maintaining a steady 120fps. This smooth gameplay looks fantastic on the 120hz display. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 does an impressive job of processing 3D graphics and rendering large open worlds.
Best ColorOS Features
ColorOS 12.1 ships as the default software on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. The included software has many features built-in that make customizing your phone fun and simple. One of the best ways to show off your personal style is with Always-On Display. You can create a custom pattern, text, and clock style to appear on your phone. My Always-On Display shows my three favorite bird emojis, a jellyfish photo that I took at the aquarium, and the time and date in the format that I choose.
Everyone values their privacy and security, which is why I really appreciate some of the features like App lock, Hide apps, Private Safe, and System cloner. Using the ColorOS privacy tools, you can even shut off your camera or microphone so that they cannot be used by any apps or services at all. Your privacy dashboard gives you a quick overview of all of the apps that are collecting data like camera, microphone, location, etc.
ColorOS is filled with great features that will enhance your use of your smartphone. Included apps like O Relax and Music Party are worth checking out as well.
Camera ReviewTo put the camera of the OPPO Find X5 Pro to the test, I took it to my local aquarium, where I could use it in a variety of different lighting situations. There are several key camera modes that I find myself using the most, which provide more flexibility with the way I edit and share my photos.
If I am shooting photos that I intend to edit on my computer, I use the RAW PLUS feature. This will let me capture RAW photos with tons of data. When I want to use the 2X camera or shoot with NIGHT mode, I’ll activate the 10-bit color feature instead. I can easily edit these photos with the ColorOS editing tools, while still preserving the color data of a photo. The last mode that I use frequently is the standard PHOTO mode with AI scene enhancements on. This is best for shots that I intend to post straight to social media, and don’t want to worry about edits or file size issues.
There are a lot of features to explore with this phone and different ways to take advantage of the powerful sensors in the front and rear cameras. Here is a full view of the camera specs of this phone.
Rear:
50MP Main Camera: f/1.7; FOV 80°; 1G6P lens
50MP Ultra-wide Angle Camera: f/2.2; FOV 112°; 7P lens
13MP Telephoto Camera: f/2.4; FOV 45°; 5P lens
Front:
32MP Front Camera: f/2.4; FOV 90°; lens: 5P
ConclusionThe OPPO Find X5 Pro feels like a very polished device. The introduction of the 80W SuperVOOC charging definitely changes the way you use and charge your phone. The cameras are some of the best that you’ll find in any smartphone, and inspire you to take more photos using features that make the whole process simple and fun. The performance is fast enough that you’ll be able to use this phone for years to come and be perfectly happy with the speed at which it runs apps and games.
I am very excited to continue to explore the capabilities of my OPPO Find X5 Pro, as I show off its design and Ceramic White color.

Part 3: Camera Performance, and Other Performance Features (OPPO Find X5 Product Review from the Land Down Under)

For the past couple of weeks, my SIM Card has been inserted into a new OPPO Find X5 (Black, 256GB on-board storage, 8GB RAM, and Model CPH2037), which I received from OPPO (thank you for the OPPOrtunity!), as one of their 20 global OPPO Product Ambassadors. It has become my daily driver, and replaces my previous OPPO Find X3 Pro. The following are my views and opinion only.
In real life, I enjoy Smart Phone technology, and manage all of my online presence (including my twitter (more than 181,000 tweets so far), Instagram and LinkedIn accounts), directly from my Smart Phone.
I’ve broken down my OPPO Find X5 Product Review into shorter sections, which makes it either easier to read everything, or perhaps you may just jump to the topics that are important to you:

Camera Performance:
The true aim for the MariSilicon X NPU is to fundamentally improve Camera performance, and this is the main area of the Find X5 that I am genuinely excited about. Better night time and low light performance around videography and photography, with quicker overall processing, are two outcomes directly attributed to the MariSilicon X NPU.

While we are on the subject of the Camera Array, it would be remiss of me not to mention the Hasselblad partnership with OPPO in the Find X5 Series. It certainly cannot hurt to have one of the World’s iconic Camera Brands co-develop the provisioning of Natural Colour Calibration and Hasselblad Filters; in their words “when classic meets the future”.
We all know how important good filters are in the social media arena … its critical to make your photos and videos “pop” so that they stand out on social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter.
As a photographer of food, flowers, and landscapes, I really am impressed as to how quickly the camera array switches to Macro and back, each and every time, and solidly.
No camera array in any Smart Phone on the market is perfect, and all camera arrays are compromised in their attempt to cover as many situations as possible. The Find X5’s cameras deliver really solid natural results, both in full and low light (even night) and all via the very user friendly Camera App’s UI. You can delve deeper into the Camera App and go full-on Pro Mode, bringing out the professional photographer in you, or if you’re like me, switch on the AI and let the Camera’s AI do its thing.
The 3 camera array at the rear consists of a 50 MP wide-angle and 50 MP uItra-wide-angle and 13 MP telephoto (2 X Optical Zoom) cameras, and is partnered by the 32 MP front facing camera. No microscope camera from the Find X3 Pro.
As someone summarised my Instagram posts as “the phone stays with you for every breakfast, and witnesses your morning moments and captures the vivid colours of the food and coffee” (thanks
Other Performance Features:
Bluetooth is memorable by its fast and hard connectivity, and the Find X5 is a solid jump ahead of the Find X3 Pro, which sometimes did not play well with my car’s Android Auto, or my collection of 15 Smartwatches and 4 Bluetooth earphones. Why this is, for me is a mystery, as both use Bluetooth 5.2. Set and forget!
Listening to music or videos without Bluetooth earphones is not something I do, but I spent the afternoon playing my music through the dual speakers of the Find X5 (one upward and the other downward) and there is plenty of sound which didn’t sound out of place, but back to the Bluetooth earphones I go.
While I normally use Bluetooth earphones for calls, I spent the weekend making and receiving calls without, and call clarity seems to be excellent, with no one asking me to repeat myself, and I don’t need to ask them either, but back to Bluetooth earphones I go again.
WiFi connects quickly and has been found to be very responsive and seems to hold its connection even as you drive up the street!
The USB-C charging port is also USB 3.1 and supports OTG (on the go) and you have a USB-C to USB-A adaptor to take advantage of higher transfer speeds. You never know when you need that saved file.
Thank you for taking the time to read my Real Life Product Review of the OPPO Find X5. I welcome any questions you may have (noting I'm not an experience Tech Reviewer), and if I cannot answer them, I will seek the answer from either another OPPO Product Ambassador, or from the OPPO Team.

Part 2: Build Quality and Design, and Overall Performance (OPPO Find X5 Product Review from the Land Down Under)

Summary

Conclusion
Build Quality and Design:
The screen (Gorilla Glass Victus) is as I’d hoped for, bright and a massive range of colours (1 billion apparently… not that I would know, being colour blind), but importantly very easy to use in direct sunlight. While lower in absolute brightness than the Find X3 Pro, I am not disappointed, and it’s still brighter than the Pixel 6 Pro.
The rear of the Find X5 is black frosted matt glass, which is curvier than the front screen, and while super smooth, it does has a visible sandy appearance. That curvier rear really does help the Find X5 to fit snuggly into your hand and it instantly felt comfortable (probably because I was used to the feel of the Find X3 Pro).
Being smaller than the Find X3 and the X5 Pro’s (6.55 inches to 6.70 inches), does make it easier to go one handed, and with very narrow bezels (especially the sides), there is plenty of screen area to make use of, and after two weeks of use, I’ve not missed the extra screen area.
Another big positive coming from the Find X5’s size is the Volume Rocker (mid-upper left side) and the Power Button (mid-upper right side) fall naturally to my left thumb and middle finger respectively (yep, left handed) … there’s no stretching or pushing the wrong keys (looking at you Motorola Edge 20 Pro and Google Pixel 6 Pro).
Weighing in at 196 grams, the Find X5 is not the lightest, nor the heaviest, but in real life the design and fit makes it feel lighter than it should, with its weight well distributed. We still have to undertake QR check-ins here in Australia for certain venues (Hospitals, Restaurants, etc) and my test for balance is a simple one … find a QR Code that has been placed too high on a pole, and then see if you feel comfortable reaching up to scan one handed. With the Find X5, the answer is; yes, it does. It’s a very pocketable device.

Overall Performance:
Last year’s Snapdragon 888 powers the Find X5, and is assisted by the slightly smaller screen size, but also from the use of the standalone, OPPO developed, MariSilicon X Neural Processing Unit (NPU). NPUs are usually built into the chipset and runs the AI and computations for the Camera array. With this setup, the Snapdragon 888 does not have to share its processing power or storage with the Camera Array, with day to day usage resulting in consistently quick processing power and super smooth scrolling with the 120Hz screen refresh rate.
While the on-board RAM is listed on my Find X5 at 8GB, you have the option to add from RAM Expansion (within the Settings), either by 2GB, 3GB or 5GB (storage space permitting), and while I haven’t noticed huge differences, I have noticed how smooth the Find X5 runs.
Together with ColorOS, it provides a velvety smooth experience and so far I have not experienced any stuttering or freezing (something that both the Find X3 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro have been guilty of). The Find X5 has pushed through every task like a proverbial steam train and has not been found wanting at all (I’m not a gamer, but will regularly be working between multiple apps for my social media activities, listening to music, and emailing, so there is a lot happening all at once).

OPPO Find X5 Pro Review: Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of my review
Part 1
Features
When it comes to features, there are just so many to list and many of them are useful such as
Multi-Screen Connect: As OPPO puts it, you can quickly transfer files between your PC and phone. Edit documents saved on your phone from your PC. Receive phone notifications on your PC. This is definitely handy as now I don’t need to look at my phone when I’m working, whenever I receive notifications on my phone, I can interact it from my PC.
Gestures: There are a plethora of gestures and motions you can use to make day to day usage very easy: Swipe down with 3 fingers to take a screenshot, air gestures, if your hand is not clean or its wet, you can do wave your hand to answer a call or scroll through YouTube. Continuing with gestures, you can assig some gestures whilst the screen is turned off i.e. draw the letter v to turn the torch light on which is very inconvenient instead of having to unlock the phone, swipe the notification shade and then enabling the torch. You can also set it up so it opens an app of your choice.

Personalisation: Here you can customise your phone which includes:
Wallpapers: which also includes live wallpapers.
Always-On Display: this is where the user can see information such as date, time, and notifications when the screen is off.
Themes: Here you can download many premade themes from the online store or individual aspects such as fonts, wallpapers, live wallpapers or video ringtones.
Icons: You can select the icon style from OPPO’s default, Material Style, Pebble or Custom where you can change the shape and whether to show app names or not.
There is also other options that fingerprint animation and edge lighting (for notification)
Camera
It seems OPPO is really focused on the camera this time round, so much so that now the Find X series has a 6nm Imaging NPU called MariSilicon X. OPPO says that it features the best-in-class power efficiency, 20 bit ultra-high dynamic range, real-time RAW processing, and Enhanced RGBW Pro Mode. It will enable high-quality 4K AI Night Video and live preview on Android smartphones for the first time. To take things further, OPPO has partnered up with Hasselblad to refine the camera prowess.
The triple camera set-up consists of 50MP main and ultra-wide lenses (Sony IMX 766), 13MP 2x zoom telephoto lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. The cameras have 5-Axis Optical Image Stabilization SLR-level technology which helps with taking photos and videos whilst you’re on the move.
I have taken lots of photos and they all turned out excellent, you can see lots of details. Portrait photos are also really, good probably the best I have seen yet. Night photography is also impressive as well as the 4k Ultra Night Video.
Battery Life
The OPPO Find X5 Pro comes with a MASSIVE 5000mAh battery that is higher than that of the Xiaomi 12 Pro Galaxy S22. I have found the battery life to last me easily over 1 day and with Super power saving mode, that can be extended to 2 days! As for the charging speed, it charged from being fully drained to 100% in just 36 minutes. This mainly thanks to the 80w SuperVooc charger that is included in the box. I don’t have the wireless charger which is dubbed as AirVooC, but its charges at 50w, that’s better than the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s wired 45w charger.
Conclusion
Overall I have to say this phone impressed me a lot, I mean why wouldn’t it? It has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, excellent main camera, massive 5000mAh battery with really fast charging. It has a beautiful 6.7” QHD+ AMOLED display which is a joy for media consumption. ColorOS12 has come really far, it doesn’t feel really heavy at all, no noticeable lag and everything is just so though out. The cameras are excellent, just point and click and you get great photos.
Having said all of that, It is slighty on the pricey side but I think this a great alternative to the Galaxy S22 series.

When it comes to high-end Android phones, there are few better than the OPPO Find X5 Pro. It features a sharp display, snappy performance, excellent battery life, and a high-quality camera. Overall, this is a great phone that can hold its own against the best of the best and even manages to take some risks but delivers the most and ticks all the boxes for a smartphone to consider in the year 2022. And while the OPPO Find X5 Pro is unquestionably the best phone yet from the brand, it's not for everyone because of its high price tag and slim software experience. However, this is the device you've been waiting for if you want the best from OPPO.
By the way, if you want to check out the FAQ for the OPPO Find X5 Pro, do check it out here.
Thanks a lot for the opportunity and good luck to everyone!
Yes, my friend offers the chance to try out the Oppo Find X5 Pro. After using it, I believe that photography enthusiasts and admirers should consider the Oppo Find X5 Pro as their next smartphone because it is a capable performer all around and has a camera that delights. Capture memorable moments in every light. You'll never be caught off guard whether snapping, working, or playing with a super-fast charge, wireless charging, and a huge battery.
Looking forward )
I own an OPPO Find X5 Pro. OOPO has delivered a good flagship smartphone focused mostly on its cameras with the Find X5 Pro 5G. This is emphasized by the integration of a MariSilicon X image processor, as well as OPPO's collaboration with Hasselblad. The OPPO Find X5 Pro, with its MariSilicon X NPU, appears to be a promising device for OPPO smartphones. It's a real flagship, capable of taking on the iPhones and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The design of the Find X5 Pro has also been improved. And, among all the new phones introduced in 2022, I would say it has the best design. The Find X5 Pro has everything I want in a premium smartphone: a perfect display with adaptive refresh rate, a solid camera system, extended battery life, lightning-quick charging, IP68 certification, and a sleek design. I'm looking forward to the Find X6 Pro!!!
