Need help unbricking the device - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

My cousin's OnePlus 6T running on Android 10 Oxygen OS. He unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP and DotOS A11.
But he wanted OxygenOS A10 back with rooted device.
I formatted the data so there's no OS on the device right now. The TWRP is also wiped somehow. I can see the charging animation when put to charge. And on starting the device, the OnePlus screen quickly goes to the Bootloader Unlocked screen. From here, I can't go to bootloader or recovery or system.
Currently the device is not being detected via adb or fastboot. No sign in Device Manager also.
How can I fix this?
EDIT: Got into Fastboot mode using these steps

Bricked my device. Oops...

Hey all.
I've looked far and wide and cannot find a solution for my phone. I was following this tutorial (Sorry can't post links)(Unlock Bootloader, Install TWRP and Root ZTE Axon 7 (A2017G) Droidviews) and got all the way to unlocking my bootloader. Did all the steps correctly but when I clicked start on my unlocked bootloader it went to the ZTE logo and never actually started. I then held the power button down until the device restarted and went into twrp and tried installing lineage and gapps because somewhere I read that someone fixed this problem by installing an update.zip file for nougat 7.0. I used this tutorial (Again cannot post links)(How to Install Lineage OS 14.1 on ZTE Axon 7 Droidviews) to install lineage. Needless to say that did not work and my device was stick stuck in the ZTE logo so I went back into twrp and tried installing the update.zip file for B11. Now my device goes past the ZTE logo but then goes to the bootloader. When I click the power button to boot a Linux symbol appears on my screen and will not leave until I hold the power button for 20 seconds or so, then it goes into what I assume is the default axon 7 recovery. It has a few options such as; reboot device, reboot into bootloader, update via microSD card, update via ADB. When I try to reboot noramlly or to bootloader the previous Linux screen happens. I can't use any commands on ADB aside from sideload and am kinda stuck. Any help would be very much thanked...
P.S. all this has happened on my A2017G that was running Nougat 7.0 B11.
FOUND A SOLUTION!!!
Because I wasn't able to use adb or fastboot in the bootloader or the recovery mode that inbuilt into the phone, I had to instead go into factory test mode by powering on the device whilst holding the power down button, it took a few tries and I kept accidently going into the bootloader instead but eventually I got it. Then you can connect your phone to adb and run the command "adb reboot edl" after that use "axon7tools -w recovery". This didn't work at first for me because I was using an older version of TWRP. After a heap of frustration I finally tried downloading the newest version and voila! It worked. From there I was able to go into TWRP recovery and unlock my bootloader and then finally reboot my phone. Lots of stress but glad I found a solution.
I don't think anyone has posted that adb works in the test menu. good to know.

Corrupted recovery, no o/s, what to do now?

I have a Axon 7 A2017U, bootloader unlocked. My recovery is corrupted after attempting to flash a older version of TWRP in recovery. I can no longer reboot into TWRP via recovery, it hangs at the ZTE powered by screen. I can't boot into the o/s, it too was corrupted while attempting to restore to stock using the DrakenFX's guide.
Booting into fastboot is a no go either, it just hangs at bootloader screen.
Any suggestions on where to go from here or how to fix the corrupted recovery?
You need to go into EDL mode and use MiFlash and flash a back to stock package. You can find a package here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=160532
Hello maybe i have same problem here. I have A2017G and maybe i have only woked unlocked bootloader. I dont think my EDL is working becouse i cant connect with ADB. Dont have any acces to recovery... i messed up step by step remember.
1. downloaded toolkit and woked fine - 2 installed drivers and working fine with EDL. 3 unlocked with no problems , 4 flashed TWRP with no problems and then i wanted to install lineage os. Downloaded last version lineage , and google apps and one file "A2017G_N_Modem.zip" and put all 3 files on my SD card. I wipe everything and then first installed modem file OK, but on second try with Lineage OS i have any errors and i just cant continue. After this i wanted to go back to original OS and i just locked my bootloader with axon toolkit and after restart i have acces only to Unlocked Bootloader. tryed everithing with axon7toolkit but nothing working. If i try to EDL mode when press volumeUP+volumeDOWN+power my phone have black screen and i thing is powered OFF.
OMFG i just typed "fastboot oem unlock" 5-6 time when i started phone to my bootloaders and now it unlocked and have acces to my TWRP.

Thanks, I flashed it with A2017U_B19-NOUGAT_FULL_EDL and was able to flashed twrp recovery. I was hoping the o/s would be fixed too but I get this error message as soon as o/s load "settings keeps stopping, close app". It appears it's a bad or incorrect stock file. I had to format data in TWRP recovery as the drive was encrypted. So now i'm back at square one.
Bad o/s but working recovery, so I attempted to flash these files to get back to stock but was unsuccessful. It would flash halfway and then just restarts and hung at the bootloader unlock screen.
A2017UV1.0.0B29_RollBackModded.zip
A2017UV1.1.0B32_bootstack_by_DrakenFX.zip
A2017UV1.1.0B32_StockSystem_by_DrakenFX.zip
Am I on the right track? Or should I be flashing with a different os variant?

So you didn't read all of the hurdles and warnings about locking the bootloader with non-stock firmware?
Plus you also didn't find out about the Universal Bootloader? Did you even read the installation steps???
You had an error 7, which is that you forgot to install the Universal Bootloader. Do so this time.
EDL has nothing to do with ADB. You can access it with the phone completely off... (volume up and down, and insert usb)

Cannot get to bootloader mode after installing stock

I've been using custom ROMs for a while on my A2017G but decided to get back to stock. Before doing all the bootloader unlocking/rooting etc I backed up my original firmware (Nougat, B09). So I reinstalled the original firmware that I had backed up but somehow lost TWRP in the process (the bootloader is still unlocked). I then used Axon 7 Toolkit to re-install TWRP. Unfortunately I cannot get to bootloader mode through Android Recovery as it reboots normally. Axon 7 toolkit gives me the following notice 'If your device rebooted normally then your device has no access to fastboot. Follow the miflash instructions for the bootloader unlock option to restore your device's fastboot mode'. The thing is the phone is bootloader unlocked so I don't need to unlock again.
Basically, I cannot install TWRP through bootloader mode. I also tried adb-fastboot tool from my Pc but same thing happens, phone reboots normally.
What I really wanted is bring back the phone to full stock, including re-locking the bootloader.
I also want to have the bootloader re-locked again before selling the phone.
Any help/ suggestions much appreciated.
Good lord, don't use the Q&A mode for a simple question. XDA Labs opens it on a browser window
Follow Controllerboy's guide, but only the part where he installs TWRP with axon7tool. After that, boot into TWRP and follow raystef66's guide on how to get rid of the 5 seconds screen. That'll give you fastboot. Then flash a full stock system, stock recovery, and you'll probably be safe enough to relock
But I'd ask the next owner if he/sge actually cared on having the bootloader unlocked. Relocking it is risky as $hit you know.
Sorry, am kind of new and was not sure which way to post my comment. Thank you for responding and the advice. I managed to install full stock, actually downgraded to Marshmallow so I can get to fastboot/bootloader mode now. Thanks again.
You can still have bootloader mode on Nougat if you follow raystef66's guide. Plus it will hide the 5 secs screen
Actually I discovered I can't get into Fastboot mode from stock marshmallow so guess it's back to nougat with raystef66's guide.

i got stuck in fastboot mode without any OS installed

So i got an upgrade to an iPhone and i left my old Oneplus 6t for a couple of days, i wanted to update the device to android 10, so i unlocked the bootloader and installed root just to test a couple of things, i was going to install the OS and i just wiped all of the system and everything (i did a backup before doing it) and when i did i couldn't install the other OS, i tried to restore the backup but for some reason it shows that there are files but not the OS and i tried to boot up the phone to see if it works but i got stuck on fastboot mode without any recovery and OS, is there any possible way to install an OS or something because since it was on fastboot i tried to also install again TWRP but it failed, thanks!

You just need to flash a ROM via fastboot method: [ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP6T] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 6T

US996USA lost root and TWRP - No fastboot

My V20 was unlocked via factory method and rooted in2017. I had xPosed framework installed. One morning in Dec. 2020 I woke to an unrooted phone. I tried to install my latest TWRP backup but TWRP was gone. The hardware button combo that always got me TWRP did a factory reset instead. Now I cannot get fastboot. Both ways of entering fastboot produce a regular boot. The bootloader unlocked nag screen still appears on boot up. I don't know what happened but I want root back. What can I do?
I am not XDA lingo savvy so forgive me if my answer does not apply.
I recently tried roting US996 with Magisk vs 21.4 but got a loop start up.
I then noticed Fastboot would not find the device.
However if I hold vol up and plug in the USB cable to the computer it will go into fastboot. I can type Fastboot devices and it will show my device. That was how I was able to start the process to restore the phone to stock.
If that helps great, if not , sorry I am just trying to give back something as I try to get this to root in Magisk 22. (still learning)
