[Q] How to extract factory_config.xml from device? - Android Head-Units

Hi, I use Chinese 10.25” Android Head Unit for my NTG 4.5 Mercedes.
I need to change some configuration which isn’t possible through setup but only by import configuration.
But I can’t find correct .xml file so I think that extract current setup to factory_configu.xml from my device can do the trick. Is there a way to do it? Or somewhere in the device this file is stored? Please help if someone knows how to extract it.

[Q] How to programmatically detect how OEM named AutoRun.exe?

Hi gurus,
today I've a CE5 specific question and I hope someone can deliver the solution: How to programmatically detect how OEM named AutoRun.exe and where this is to be searched for?
For explanation: CE by default runs SD\2577\Autorun.exe, if OEM didn't cancel this, i.e. replaced this with an own solution, as for example
Medion: SD\GoCE.exe
Becker: SD\AutoRun.exe
Binatone: SD\shell.ini
HP iPAQ: SD\CElauncher.exe
Insignia CNV*: SD\CNAV\CNAVClient.exe
Insignia NS-NAV*: SD\WLNANavi480_272\WLNA_Navi.exe
Magellan Crossover: SD\micManager.exe
Navigon: SD\AutoRunCE.exe and/or SD\UpdateMe.exe
Nextar: SD\shell.ini
Rightway: SD\CoPilot.exe
Route 66: SD\Route 66\R66Navigate8.exe
ViaMichellin: SD\InstallSD\InstallSD.exe
Wayteq: SD\Mobilenavigator\Mobilenavigator.exe
In another thread I read, this should be to found in registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm]
"AutoRun"=
"AutorunCFG"=
"AutoRunType"=dword:0
but those entries doesn't exist at my device.
Thank you all in advance.
First thing that pops into mind is - what is Your purpose? Isn't the autorun.exe working or is there something else?
Other than that, if You already haven't tried that, You could try to create those keys and values in registry and see if it works.
And since this is a very specific issue, there is surely someone from here - http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=136798&whichpage=1 - who might have come to learn that information as it is quite crucial to them.
As I am not a programmer, I don't know any straight answer to Your question, but I hope I could help.
Thanks for your reply.
The forum you linked to, I came from. One more time: the constant I'm searching for must be located in device's ROM, hence my question goes to the programmers/hackers who know of ROM contents in detail.
@aiiro
I strongly believe jwoegerbauer's question goes exactly in the direction you linked too. For a proper installation of Miopocket on Storage Card, one must know how the name of the .exe is, which runs automatically after Reset when Storage Card is plugged in. Compareable to AutoRun.exe in folder 2577 on SD of Windows Mobile devices. But while AutoRun.exe in WM is a standard, for WinCE it is not. Most Manufactorers rename the Microsoft default AutoRun.exe to something else (see jw's examples) and they don't publish it. Means if you don't know, you can forget about SD installation of Miopocket.
Somewhere on the device this name must be stored and the question is how to find.

Application initialise as early as possible

Help folks,
I won't bore you with exactly what I'm doing, but I need an application to start as soon as possible - before the default launcher does for example.
The application contains settings that need to apply prior to everything else.
Is there a script I can place somewhere? If so, are there any examples you can guide me to please!?
Thanks in advance.

cloning old wm5 firmware

Hello,
I do not know if I posted in the right place but I need urgent help. I have lots old terminals Motorola HC700 (F4707A) that were downgraded from WM5 to WM2003SE. Now have to put again WM5 but I don't have that old firmware.
I have another two terminals with original WM5 on them. Is there any possibility to extract the firmware completely or clone it and put it on those with WM2003. Or can anyone help me with firmware for this type of terminal.
If you can clone or extract the firmware what tools i can use or can someone explain how do this. It is urgent. Thank you.

Start searching here (register your account):
http://www.modaco.com/forum/651-windows-mobile-archive/
or maybe here:
http://www.modaco.com/forum/546-motorola/
Eventually, try Google, and search for wm5 roms for [name of the phone]
It's not a phone it's a scanning terminal. It's an old terminal and i can't find anything about it.
I just want to copy SO (firmware) from wm5 good terminal and put on WM2003 bad terminal.
Where i can find info how to do this ?
Thank you

that was the first thing
Yaho0o, WM5 rom flashed to device ... how to explain .... is not only the set of files. They are flashed to device with fixed location in memory and the info about this location is wiped away while flashing.... So you can not just copy the firmware from a device - half of the files visible in \Windows folder of the device via file manager are just the labels.
Here no-one will help you. The best way - try to contact Moto support at motorolasolutions.com - maybe they have the firmware for your discounted barcode scanners.
do anyone found asolution ???
