Disable Knox without logging into phone - Samsung Galaxy A40 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, I left my working place and my employers didnt say anything about me, needing to return my phone.
My question is this, I cannot login into the phone anymore, because they deleted my work acc. Is there any other possibility, that I can activate OEM Mode, without the access to the settings inside the phone?
Thanks very much.

[Q] issue with htc hd2 password

I had put a pattern lock on my HTC HD2 but my phone went dead and after I put it in charge and turned it on the phone won't accept the right password like it doesn't recognize it ... so now im locked outta my phone . I know how to do a factory reset , but i dont wanna erase everything ..
I heard a whole bunch of stuffs and people everywhere be saying that they haven't heard any other way then the master reset to unlock the phone so I was wondering is there any other way I can unlock the phone without having to do a master reset cause I haven't backing up my datas on the phone yet and since it's locked now it doen't even allow me now to do any kind of synchronization on my pc. So since yall are the experts on that matter please help me cause I'm afraid of losing all my informations on the phone and it has been about two weeks now since I put the phone on a corner somewhere unuseful and waiting for an answer.
thanks already guys !
Unfortunately, there is no way out other than a reset. Sucks to hear I know. However, yank the SD card out first, at least you wont lose anything that's on that.
Going forward, you can use the built in Microsoft MyPhone to sync backups to your live account. Or any other number of backup software that's out there. You can also set your phone and video to save to the SD card.
Sorry man, it's the most frustrating thing about this phone.
Yea that is so frustrating ... but is there any way that I can back up my datas before i perform that master reset cause I have never back them up before and everything is saved on the phone even my contacts cause as the phone locked right now it seems impossible to me to do anything at all. Anytime I'm trying to synchronize the datas on my pc it won't let me and said "your phone is locked authenticate your phone first". So is there any way out ?

Unfortunately that's one of the bugs, that the lock screen will no longer function correctly, you won't be able to get in, ever, sorry
i think i know why it happens, at least for me...
seems whenever i install certain cabs, then uninstall them, this happens. most recently has been a swype cab i found off here, was the latest version for t-mobile hd2s. it installed fine and worked fine, but when i removed it, it caused the issue. i reformatted and only installed that cab, setup a pin, rebooted, worked, uninstalled the swype cab, rebooted, broke-wouldn't take the pin.
so maybe it has something to do with using non stock roms and using different kinds of cabs or something...
Just happened to me last week due to a forced server exchange policy.
Hard reset is it. Confirmed by HTC.
Known bug with no fix on the way it seems.
same happended to me...and still looking to fix it
i already did the reset they told not to put a password on my phone
so im lookin if they find a fix so i can use password

[Q] Screen broke, lockscreen prevents data access. Options?

hey there everyone,
I will make this as short as I can so you guys can read it. There is a company that fixes my screen, but they (for some reason!) cant promise my data is safe.
Researched myself, I know some suggestions are technically exploits and silly, but I still would like to ask at least, no matter how unlikely.
So.. lockscreen prevents acess to my photos. I disabled G+, which I regret now. Phone is in plane mode. Touchscreen doesnt response. ADB developer option is not activated.
Can I ..
- use "Find my phone" to deactivate the plane mode (could download an app like airdroid maybe)
- Email Google, send them proof and ask them to remotely unlock my phone? Serial Number, billing details etc.
- Activate bluetooth somehow to connect a bluetooth mouse
- Force my phone to reset its options?
- wipe my phone safely and recover the data over an 3rd party app (recovery tool).. maybe over find my phone?
- Somehow circumvent the lockscreen (yes, silly .. I know)
I know about this

. If really necessary I will fight myself through it.
Thanks everyone who helps!!

Do you have a custom recovery? ADB should work if you boot in recovery and connect your phone.

Wait wait.
Do you have an unlocked bootloader? If not.. then yeah.. no other way.
Replace the screen yourself. Buy a screen assembly off eBay ($45USD for just the screen/digitizer, $60 for one installed in a new bezel - far easier). It's not that hard to do, honestly. Watch some videos on youtube and study the device tear-down on ifixit.com.

Major Security Break

There is a bypass that can disable all kind of tracking if someone steals your phone.
It's the quick settings avaliability in lock screen mode, even when you have the any kind of protection turned on(PIN, Fingerprint, etc.). Try it yourself... Imagine yourself as a thief who stole the phone... You know someone can track you so you just like open quick settings and turn off all kind of data or just simply turn on airplane mode... There's not a single chance for the owner to track the device anymore.
It is not just on ZUK Z1, it's the whole Lolipop series.
My question is:
1. Is Marshmallow going to fix this problem?
2. Is there any way of contacting directly the people who work in Cyanogen on this phone, who can make option that can disable status bar pull down while the screen is locked.
(I know there might be some modding options that can do that, but I just got the phone and I'm not yet into rooting it and voiding warranty, and also it shouldn't even matter. You don't have to mod anything in order to get basic security over your phone.
And I also know there are more ways to break into phone, but this one is just too simple & fast)
Enogh panic! Just go to notification drawer settings and find out everything you need.
P.S. Thogh there is still an issue when mobile data can be disabled...
lol...if you phone is stolen two things happen first, sim card is removed and phone is power off...... then any sensible thief will then go in recovery mode and wipe it .....
phone disappears forever....
until there is a way to protect recovery mode via some password ,your phone can always be stolen without a trace...
i think you're in a wrong section mate.

You don't say? Not that I explained in the post that there are numerous ways of breaking in besides that. But to stop stupid people from easily stealing phone is neccessary to remove option of simply turning off data, location or any other connection source. Stop being cpt. Obivious and please answer the problem question if possible. Otherwise please don't point me things I already explained in the post. Thank you.
(I don't want to be rude, just to clear the situation, thank you for your understanding)
Is this serious, or a joke? LMAO

Used phone with google lock (frp)

Hey guys,
Got a problem with a used phone I recently bought on ebay. The former user activated the factory reset protection and forgot to remove it before wiping.
Phone is completly stock and bootloader is locked. Security patch from october 2016.
At some point in the setup wizard I can only proceed with the log in Data of the former user.
I thought I could manage that but seems to be quite tough.
Already made it to the settings but couldnt activate developer settings (tapping on build no didnt do anything, i guess because no user profile is activated but I cant add one). Next method is using google now cards to download an apk. The doesnt work for me since no google option appears under settings. As far as I'm informed it is not possible to perform a factory reset via fastboot unless oem unlock is activated which I cant.
Is there a way to reset the phone or do I have to contact the seller and ask for his Account which is is kind of akward but its his fault at the end. Didnt knew about that since now.
Best regards
Ok, solved it myself.

What do you think about to secure the HU to prevent giving access to the stealer?

What do you think about secure your unit by PIN or Password? Do you use it?
I think it is a good idea, if the car or unit get's stolen the system would be locked and i'd have time to change my google password and remove the connection to my account.
But it is a little bit tricky to find these settings, because they are mostly hidden.
Tell me how you think about it.
Just install Google Find My Device and send command to wipe device. Even if it is turned off, as soon as the device gets online, it will be wiped.
