[GUIDE] HavocOS 4.1 With GApps and Root (magisk) - Razer Phone 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

I got bored so I made a HavocOS guide. Enjoy!
I am not responsible for any bad things happening to your device/angry parents because YOU messed your phone up. If it somehow broke after you did this, it's not my problem.
oh yea also I didnt make the OS. this is just a guide.
Downloads in video description.
I wanted to make this quick and simple so here's a video:
----------------------------------------------------------
Written guide:
-
Pt. 0: quick prerequisites that i forgor to write before
-
consider reading through the guide before you do it
make sure oem unlocking is enabled on your phone. if you dont know how to do that uhh here's how:
1. go to settings
2. scroll down to about
3. tap the build number until it asks for your screen lock
4. go to system
5. go to developer options
6. enable oem unlocking.
7. if its grayed out its because your phone is cringe, sorry.
-
Pt. 1: Downloads
-
Download all of these files
Google USB driver Extract with 7z or WinRar.
Platform Tools Click "Download for Windows" and extract with 7z or WinRar.
Stock Firmware Extract with 7z or WinRar.

-
Pt. 3: Installing command line tools
-
How to install platform-tools systemwide.
1. Find your platform-tools folder and move it to somewhere where it can stay there forever, E.g. the root folder in your C drive (C:\). I don't recommend putting it on your desktop because that will add useless clutter.
2. Go to your start menu and look up "Environment Variables"
3. Click on "Environment Variables"
4. Scroll down on the bottom; "System Variables" section, find "Path", and double click on it
5. Click on "New"
6. Click on "Browse"

oh also i forgot to mention, unlock your bootloader now
steps to do that here:
1. open cmd
2. enter fastboot flashing unlock
3. hit yes on the prompt that appears on your phone
4. you might need to enter fastboot flashing unlock_critical (if cmd gives you an error saying it doesn't exist or something just kinda ignore it, i'm only putting it here just in case)
5. you should be good to continue
-
Pt. 4: The Installation.
-
Installing HavocOS
1. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PHONE IS IN FASTBOOT MODE.
2. Open aura-p-release-3201
3. Run flash_all.bat (double click on it)
4. Wait until it finishes running.
5. As soon as it closes and your phone screen turns black, immediately hold the power and volume down buttons and enter fastboot mode.
6. Open Command Prompt (CMD)
7. Flash the Kernel by typing fastboot flash boot <boot.img> and replace <boot.img> with the file path to your boot.img file. (Tip: you can drag the file into CMD to put in the file path.)
8. Flash HavocOS by typing fastboot flash system <HavocOS PHH.img> and replace <HavocOS PHH.img> with the file path to the HavocOS PHH.img file. Ignore the errors.
9. Wait until everything finishes and unplug your phone (if you want to)
10. Use volume buttons to go down to "Recovery Mode"
11. Select "Recovery Mode" with your power button. (Tip: double tap the power button to get past the bootloader unlocked warning screen)
12. Swipe to allow modifications
13. Tap on wipe > format data > type "yes" > press "OK"
14. Press back until you get to the TWRP home screen
15. Tap "Reboot" > tap "Recovery" > then tap "Do not install"
16. Wait until it reboots back into recovery.
17. Follow steps 12-14, then hit "Reboot" > then hit "System"
If it doesn't boot into the setup screen, open fastboot mode and format the data once more, then reboot into system.
----------------------------------------------------------
and here are the easiest and also some of the dumbest GSI root instructions ever:
Download Magisk-v21.4.zip
1. Open TWRP and mount everything. (except for USB storage. micro sd card is optional.)
2. Put Magisk-v21.4.zip on your phone (in file explorer)
3. Open the TWRP file manager (advanced > file manager)
4. Navigate to /system/system/bin
5. Find resetprop and tap on it
6. Rename resetprop to phh-resetprop
7. tap on install
8. install Magisk-v21.4.zip
9. Boot up your phone, open magisk, and update everything.
10. Turn on MagiskHide in the settings of magisk manager.
11. Profit$ (lol)
SafetyNet should pass if you did it properly (I would find it kinda funny if you managed to mess up those easy instructions)
Alright guys, have a nice day!
p.s: I might begin work on a user-friendly auto-installer soon.

Thank you OP, finally got Android 11 fully working including SafetyNet, camera/flashlight, Bluetooth and SD card. The only tricky part was the Bluetooth - got help from this comment - needed to delete both APKs before first boot.

yea i forgot to include that part. I thought you didn't need to do that before boot tho. I managed to get BT working by deleting BluetoothResCommon.apk and renaming RazerAuraBluetoothRes.apk to BluetoothResCommon.apk.

There is a mirror in the description of the video.

Dude you are a different type of god thank you so much I can finally sleep now.

Quick question: is this version of Havoc have no issues with receiving SMS? Previous versions of it cause this annoying issue that after few minutes from restart SMS stop arriving to phone and the only fix at that time was just to restart it. Tried some patches from telegram but basically end up with no fix.

So do I have to reflash in order to fix Bluetooth?
Sadly my main reason for losing is that I'm running into a mako issue with HavocOS. systenUI keeps crashing whenever the on-screen keyboard is displayed. This happens with the default installed gBoard and SwiftKey beta. It also crashes when the screen goes to sleep. I followed all the steps from the video. Only thing I did besides that was restore a backup from Google Drive so I didn't have to manually install everything. I'm sadly out of ideas and might have to switch to normal GSI or back to LineageOS so the device is stable enough to use.

I have never had to fix BT before first boot.
And also, that's kinda weird. I've never had any systemUI crashes with the keyboard, although i have had a weird bug where the entire OS crashes and it reboots into a state where its impossible to use. however, to fix that, i just reflashed and i never encountered the bug again. your install might have been a lemon. maybe install again?

Trying out now. I'm at work so I don't have my laptop with me. Trying it work a live CD image lol
Update: It's been sitting on the "Powered by Android" screen for 20+ minutes. I already tried a data wipe from the bootloader. I can get into TWRP. I'm going to give it another 10 minutes then try flashing HavocOS again.
Update 2: I've made progress. Now it's stick on the HavocOS loading screen. It's been like that for 20+ minutes. Tried the bootloader data format.
Update 3: I was finally able to flash HavocOS at home without issue. I flashed Magisk before even booting into the OS and it seems to be working ok. After it rebooted to complete the setup/install, the issue came back. I'm just flashing HavocOS without Magisk for now.

Hello,

[GUIDE] Getting ICS +root on your Note. Stable & fully functional. UPDATED.

I thought I would write this guide to help people who are having trouble with getting ICS to work reliably on their Galaxy Note. This guide is fairly beginner friendly but I do recommend that you quickly go through this once before you start. Also, this is a 'risk free' way of trying the ICS leak. You just need to have a nandroid backup from your current clockworkmod (or red-pill recovery) to try this out. If you do not like it, instructions are included on how to restore back to your Ginger Bread ROM. Hit the THANKS button if this helps. Happy Flashing!
Edit. CLICK HERE for my earlier thread demoing ICS on the Note. It has 3 videos that add up to 40 mins.
Edit 2. In case you have any trouble with the ROM and want to get back, I have now included a 'Getting back to your old Ginger Bread ROM' section in the end thanks to chasmodo. I do suggest that you read through for some user reports or better yet, try it yourself!
Edit 3. The guide now includes instructions to get TeamRocketROM ICS and criskelo's ICS ROM. I have had mixed results with these two ROMs. But feel free to try them out and see if they will work well for you. You will HAVE to install the CF repack ICS to be able to install other ICS ROMs. So follow the steps from section (2) until step 10 and choose either Section (4A) or (4B). A shout out to TeamRocket and criskelo. Original Thread for TeamRocketROM and Original Thread for criskeloROM.
Edit 4. MediaFire links for the essential files are now up. They are split into 200mb rar files. You will need WinRAR to extract them.

Section (1) : Requirements.
1) A Galaxy Note, obviously. It HAS TO BE model GT-N7000 (International) and NOT SGH-i717 (AT&T).
2) Samsung Kies, because it includes the latest Samsung drivers. Google it, download and install.
3) Stock GB ROM with a good radio. We are using a KKA for this. It is easily rootable AND it has a great radio. I have also included ODIN for convenience. CLICK HERE. | MIRROR | MF-Part1 | MF-Part2 | MF-Part3
4) Chainfire's CF-Root kernel/clockworkmod for KKA. CLICK HERE. | MIRROR | MF
5) Mobile ODIN Lite and files required to flash ROMs in one pack. OR you can get Mobile ODIN Pro from Market and support Chainfire's efforts. CLICK HERE. | MIRROR | MF
Note. Chainfire is one of the most prolific Android developers/reverse engineers and it will be worth every penny if you donate/buy his apps.

////// EXTRA REQs for criskelo ICS ROM //////
****ONLY IF YOU WANT CRISKELO ROM******
1) Criskelo's ICS beta 1 ROM CLICK HERE | MIRROR2 | MIRROR3
Section (2) : Chainfire's ICS repack installation.
1) Your current firmware does not matter. It could be stock, stock & rooted, newer stock & ever-rooted, sammobile ICS, whatever. It's OK even if you're in a boot-loop or plain brick. It does not matter. But be prepared to loose all your app data and also maybe the files on the INTERNAL sd of the phone. This is MEANT as a clean, fresh install. Although you will get back most of the essential stuff once you logon to you google account on the new ICS.
2) MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ATLEAST 50% CHARGE.
3) Extract the file named " N7000XXKKA_N7000OXXKK5_AUT.rar". You will find three files there, .DLL, .TAR.MD5, .ZIP. Extract the zip file. Right click on 'Odin3 v1.85.exe' and click 'Run as administrator'.
4) Now you need to put your phone in Download mode. Turn off your phone if it is on. Hold volume down, home and power together and keep holding them until you see a screen that says Warning on top with a yellow warning symbol. As soon as you see the screen, you need to push the volume UP button to get into download mode. If you miss it, try holding down the three buttons and repeat. The download screen has an android with 'Downloading...' written in the bottom.
5) Now that you are in download mode, go ahead and connect the Note to your computer. If you installed Kies correctly, it will install the drivers for the new hardware and say that the device is ready for use. Now, on the ODIN screen you should see "Added" in the 'Message' window on the left. Now, click the "PDA" button and select the file that ended with .TAR.MD5. Make sure ONLY "Auto reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked. Say start and the flashing should begin. DO NOT INTERRUPT THIS UNTIL IT IS COMPLETED.
6) Once the flashing ends, your phone will reboot. Give it upto 5 minutes because it is the first boot. If it is stuck in a boot loop (or if things are force closing on the setup screen), hold down volume UP, home and power button together until you get into the recovery menu. Navigate the recovery using volume and home buttons. Now select the "Wipe data/Factory Reset option", select the Yes option and proceed to wipe the phone. Once done, select the reboot option and your phone should turn on now. Do not setup any accounts and just click through the setup screens. Reboot the phone.
7) Now you have a nice clean stock ROM. We will proceed with the rooting now. Go to settings and 'Applications' and enable 'Unknown sources', then go to 'Development' and enable "USB debugging". Now extract the file " InitialCFRootFlasherKKA". You will see a "not-rooted-yet.bat". Right click and run as administrator. Click enter to continue and now it should say "--- STARTING ---" and "found a samsung" and all that. If you get to the part where it tells you that it is going to flash the cf-root kernel too fast, the adb server probably failed to start. So, you need to close the bat file and run it again as admin. If everything goes right you should see the zergRush exploit in action and after some time it will tell you that it will attempt to flash cf-root kernel. Hit enter, it will flash the kernel and reboot. Congratulations, you now have root and clockworkmod.
7b) PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP (optional but recommeded) : Turn your phone off. Hold volume UP, menu and power until you reboot into clockworkmod recovery. Go to 'backup and restore' and select backup. Clockworkmod will now create a nandroid backup of your rooted GB rom. So if you decide to g back to GB or try out different ICS roms, this will be really helpful.
8) Now we need to install Mobile ODIN Lite. Extract the file "Mobile_ODIN_Lite_GTN7000". You will see two apks. Now extract "CF_ICS_REPACK_GAPPS_INCL". You will see a .TAR and .ZIP. DO NOT EXTRACT ANY OF THESE FILES. Transfer all these files to your sd card using USB. You can go to 'Wireless and network' menu in settings and then 'USB utilities' to enable mass storage.
9) Using the included 'My Files' app, navigate to the apks. (Note. If you put your files in the external sd there is a folde called "external_sd" in My Files to take you there.) Install " MobileODINLite-v2.15" and then install " MobileODIN_FlashKernel_N7000-v2.0". Now launch Mobile ODIN. It should ask for su permissions and select "Allow" make sure the "remember" option is checked. Select 'Open file' and navigate to wherever you put the "I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK.tar" file transferred earlier. It should say that it has loaded the file. You will notice the 'Modem' and 'Param' fields are empty, that is fine. Scroll down to 'Flash firmware' and select 'Continue'. Mobile ODIN will boot into recovery and proceed with the flashing. DO NOT INTERRUPT THIS UNTIL IT IS COMPLETED.
### OPTIONAL STEP *ONLY* FOR ROCKETROM/CRISKELO-ROM : Once the flashing is complete, it will take you to clockworkmod. Perform a 'wipe data/factory reset'. Reboot. *SKIP TO SECTION 4A/4B* for further instructions.
10) Once the flashing is complete, it will take you to clockworkmod. DO NOT REBOOT. Navigate the recovery using volume and home buttons. Select 'Install zip from sdcard' and then 'choose zip from sdcard', navigate to 'gappsv7.1.zip.' Proceed to install the zip. Navigate back to main menu and select 'wipe data/factory reset' and say yes. Now select 'reboot system now'.
11) You should now have a stable, rooted ICS. BUT we need to get rid of all the bloatware before we can proceed. There is no set up screen. If your screen in all black when it boots up, that is fine. Reboot the phone. Reboot it again, just to be sure. Get Titanium Backup free either with market, or with the apk. You will need to set up your google account before you can download through market. Once you have Titanium Backup, the clean up begins. You will need to enable 'Unknown sources' under 'Security' and 'USB debugging' under 'Development' before you can use Titanium Backup.
12) Launch Titanium Backup it will ask for root and allow it. Click through the popups. Click the Backup/Restore tab. We begin from all the way dowm, so scroll down all the way. You can uninstall an app by clicking on the app and selecting "Un-install !" option. Click OK on any warnings you will see. Below is a list with the apps that I personally like to remove. It includes the "Samsung Hubs" because they mostly serve Chinese content.
Section (3) : The Bloatware list
-Two apps with Chinese characters at the very bottom.
-Zinio
-Youko
-wikiAR
-weibo
-VIVA magazine
-Trim
-TaoBao

-SNSAccountRr

That's it! Restart your Note and you should have a great, fully-functional ICS ROM! This procedure has been thoroughly tested by me and works every time. ALSO scroll down to check out the recommended apps for better functionality.
Section (4A) : TeamRocketROM ICS installation
****THIS SECTION IS TO BE FOLLOWED ONLY IF YOU WANT TEAMROCKETROM******
1) Once you are done with step 10 from Section (2) you should have the CF repack which forms the base for a lot of other ICS ROMs out there. So you absolutely NEED the cf repack running. If you don;t have it, go back to Section (2) and follow steps from 1 through 10.
2) Transfer the files "TeamRocketRom_ICS_Notev1.4_beta", "TeamRocketRom_ICS_Notev1.5_beta" and "Reworked_15ToggleBar_for_TeamRocketROM_v1.5" to you internal or micro sd. DO NOT UNZIP THEM. Turn off your phone and hold down volume UP, menu and power until you boot into clockworkmod recovery.
3) Now you need to perform a full wipe. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and yes. Now select "wipe cache" and select Yes. Go to advanced > Wipe dalvik cahe > Yes. Select back to go back to main menu.
4) Select "install zip from sd card" > choose zip from sd card > now navigate to the "TeamRocketRom_ICS_Notev1.4_beta" file. Remember it is *1.4*. Slect the file and proceed to flashing. After it is done flashing, perform a full wipe like we did in step 3 (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cahe). THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL.
5) Once you are done performing the full wipe, go back to the main menu and hit "reboot system now". The phone will reboot, give it some time. Once it is up and running, quickly setup your google account.
6) Now turn the phone off and hold voulume UP, menu and power to get into cwm. Select "install zip from sdcard" > choose zip from sd card > now select "TeamRocketRom_ICS_Notev1.5_beta". Remember, THIS TIME IT IS V1.5. After it is done flashing, do not do any wipes. Go back to main menu and reboot the system.
7) Wait till the phone boots, it will take some time. Go settings and about to verify that you are running RocketROM v1.5. Now, for the final part.
8) Turn off your phone and hold down volume UP, menu and power until you boot into clockworkmod recovery. Select "instll zip from sd card" > "choose zip from sd card" > now select the "Reworked_15ToggleBar_for_TeamRocketROM_v1.5" zip file and let install. Once done, don't wipe anything. Go back to main menu and reboot system. Congrats! You are now running TeamRocketROM ICS v1.5.
Section (4B) : criskelo ROM ICS installation
****THIS SECTION IS TO BE FOLLOWED ONLY IF YOU WANT CRISKELO ROM******
1) Once you are done with step 10 from Section (2) you should have the CF repack which forms the base for a lot of other ICS ROMs out there. So you absolutely NEED the cf repack running. If you don;t have it, go back to Section (2) and follow steps from 1 through 10.
2) Transfer the file "CriskeloRomNOTE.vICS-V1-Beta1-MD5-79520216F3E0F9D0DC5F87EB82EBB143" to your internal / micro sd. DO NOT UNZIP.
Select back to go back to main menu
4) Select "install zip from sd card" > choose zip from sd card > now navigate to "CriskeloRomNOTE.vICS-V1-Beta1-MD5-79520216F3E0F9D0DC5F87EB82EBB143". Select file and proceed with installation.
5) After it is done flashing, perform a full wipe like we did in step 3 (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cahe), just to be sure. Go back to main menu and select reboot system now. Enjoy your criskelo ROM!
Section (5) : Getting back to your old Ginger Bread ROM :
If your having troubles and want to go back to your old GB ROM, this is how you restore. Credits to chasmodo for the instructions.
1. download AbyssNote 3.9 kernel from HERE | MIRROR. It's a flashable zip.
2. put this zip on your SD Card before you try to restore your previous system
3. when you want to restore, power off your phone
4. boot into recovery (Volume up + Home + Power)
5. chose 'install zip from SD Card'
6. navigate to your Abyss kernel zip and flash it
7. go back to the Recovery start menu
8. go to advanced/reboot recovery <--- this will reboot the phone directly to recovery
9. you will discover that you now have Hyperdroid Redpill Recovery - it comes with the Abyss kernel - it's pretty much the same thing as CWMR
10. wipe cache, dalvik, do your factory reset
11. start your restore, and it will work.
Section (6) : Recommended apps
- Go Keyboard - Great, highly customizable keyboard. Includes emoji, touch tone keypad, smileys and themes. Does not lag.
- Nova Launcher - Awesome launcher meant ONLY for ICS. Highly customizable with stock ICS look and feel. Very stable too. Includes persistent search bar, dock pages, etc. Original thread HERE.
- Winamp - Really good music player with great navigation and a good looking widget. Also includes lock-screen integration.
- Airdroid - This app is must have for anyone who want to sync their phone wirelessly over wifi. Free and awesome.
- MX Video - Excellent video player. Essential for this ROM because stock player does not function. Has great gesture controls and plays almost anything you throw at it.
- ROM Manager - ONLY IF you are having trouble with force closing apps and general freezes, get ROM Manager and run 'Fix permissions'. I recommend that you do not mess with any other option on ROM Manager unless you know what you're doing.
Section (7) : Tips, tricks and troubleshooting
-- 14 Button Toggle Bar : This is a very nifty little UI tweak by Chris X.. Original post here. It is basically a really cool looking Notification bar with a lot of toggles. I have included a screenshot below. This tweak also works on criskelo ROM. I haven't tested it with chainfire repack, but you are free to give it a try. CLICK HERE to download.
-- Get stock ICS icons for CF repack (Nova Launcher) :
For ICS icons on your Homescreen, download "Ice Cream Sandwich (theme)" by kovdev from Market. Now go back to your Nova Launcher homescreen, tap and hold the icon you want to change and hit edit. Now click on the icon, select "ADW Icon Pack" and proceed to select the appropriate icon. However, the icon will only change on the homescreen and not the app drawer.
-- SoD & Freezes : If you are getting random freezes and/or Screen of Death issues, remove your SIM and microsd, transfer all the required files to internal memory and start over. You can also try using clockworkmod or ROM manager to fix permissions.
Hit the Thanks button if this helps at all. All credit goes to everyone who deserves it. Especially Chainfire. And remember, hit the Thanks if it helps. Good day.
will this work on a non stock rom? ie. Romow v8, abyss kernal 4.0?

Yes. I assume you're already rooted? So you can just start from step 8. If you have a good baseband from Romow, I think you will be just fine.

Do I need to install MobileODIN_FlashKernel_N7000-v2.0 ?
And I have stock KK5 rooted, that means I can start from step 8 ?
edit: just read the official Mobile Odin page here, and the last sentence states that only Lite users have to manually download flashkernel

Did you make a backup in cwm by any chance? If you didn't, you might just wanna start from step 1 again. Trust me, it wont take long now that you have done it once. I did the whole thing over just to write the guide. Took me about 30 minutes.
Edit. Hold on a sec! Did you say you just 'installed' the keyboard? Through market, right? If you did it by market and do not alter any system files with clockworkmod or root explorer then, you can boot into cwm by volume up, home and power and wipe your device. Everything should be back to normal after that. You won't lose root.
is there no way i can download any keyboards apks? i just need it so that i can sign onto my gmail account?

I thought your whole ICS was being unresponsive. Just do a wipe. Or get apks for a third party keyboard. Go keyboard is what I use. Just google "go keyboard apk download"

Yeah, it's a great keyboard. I have reduced the height of the keys by one unit in both portrait and landscape. I also have the emoji plugin, which is kinda cool. 0_o
Fail, I liked the new Gmail, but everything seemed so big, since I got used to 240 dpi, downloaded DPI Changer from Market, decreased DPI, and after that I couldn't boot
So I had to flash stock rom using Odin, and start over ...
Now I've just rooted stock rom, and waiting for battery to charge over 50%, since all these flashing and rooting sucked most of the juice out of it
Btw, the best keyboard in my opinion is "Thumb Keyboard"
So you're saying it's FULLY FUNCTIONAL? As in everything works just as well or close to the stock rom? Then no need for me to wait for the official release from Samsung?
If so, I'll do it baby.
I am amazed how smooth this rom is
So far its stable, we will see that in few days

MetroPCS & T-Mobile LG Leon STABLE Root (WORKS EVERY TIME 100%)

I am making this tutorial as I have had multiple versions of the LG LTE Leon and have used many firmware versions. I have created a stable method that has the least issues as I have had trouble with the latest firmware (MS34510f) disabling my root privileges. I have created a MEGA account specifically for all of the files necessary to complete this operation and have your device run smoothly. So, please follow my instructions exactly as stated and you should not have any issues. THIS PROCESS WILL REMOVE ALL DATA NOT SYNCED, DO READ BELOW NOTES IT IS VERY BENEFICIAL
Important Notes:
+This process will wipe all data that is not synced, it is important to ensure that no newer LG process are still on the device. Some might argue to leave data, to that I say good luck keeping your root and tethering without the device becoming suspiciously unstable.
+ I am not GUARANTEEING this will work on every model, but I have had an extremely high success rate with all Leon versions.
+ In this tutorial the process in which I remove Kingroot and replace it with SuperSu is for system stability. I find that most root functions I use seem to not work properly. (Wifi Tether Router and many others). So, I do recommend doing so.
+After the new OS is installed a MetroPCS splash screen will appear even if you do have T-Mobile. DO NOT BE ALARMED this firmware will not limit any functionality you had before, it will even help with tethering functionality.
Tutorial:
Let's Begin.
1. Download the link posted to obtain required files for this tutorial
Link: https://mega.nz/#F!PM4CQRqb!92kgIOnD0ZBY-8HVbtTwGQ
2. Open up LGFlashTool2014.exe
Begin by copying settings posted below, then click "normal flash"
3. Next click the "START" button
4. At this time, I recommend you verify all sync settings are to your liking and that all personal info needed is backed up
a. You have the option to throw all of your personal documents/pictures onto your SD card and removing it appropriately
(Go to: Settings - Storage - [scroll down to] Unmount SD card)
b. Next, navigate to Settings -Backup & reset [leave options default; both checked off] - Factory data reset - reset phone
c. Once reset it will most likely reboot, wipe, and then back to a OS. Now, you will Power Off entirely (make sure it is not plugged in so it will not go to charging mode)
d. Here is where we will hold down the Volume Up button with the phone unplugged from your PC. Then you must plug the USB into your phone.
e. A black screen with white text should post onto your screen, here we will continue to step 6
note: If this screen does not appear please power off and retry step d.
6. Next, follow the posted settings. Make sure to click the "Clear phone Software update Registry" button Then click "OK"
7. A new screen will arrive, and should begin the firmware download process. At this time it will take a few minute to load and should reboot to a fresh OS.
8. With the new OS in place, you can either follow the setup tutorial now or skip through for a later setup.
note: you can now insert your SD card
9. In the tools folder of the folder you downloaded copy the "mrw" folder to the Main Storage folder of your phone
10. Now copy the Kingroot apk to your downloads folder located on the main storage.
11. Go to Settings - About Phone - Software Info
At this time click the build number box a few times until it says you are a developer
12. Hit back until you are at the Setting menu, click on Developer options and check off "Stay Awake" and "Enable OEM Unlock" as well as "USB Debugging"
13. You may now run Kingroot, if it does not install root the first time it should flawlessly install the next.
14. After root is obtained, please go to your home screen and click the "Google Search" widget. Press Update Google Services and let it run. After that has been updated search for terminal emulator and install.
note: If the Play Store is acting fishy and force closing while typing in the search bar do not fret it will be fixed after reboot in further instruction
as an allternative use the jackpal.androidterm-1.0.70-71-minAPI4.apk provided in the "tools" folder
15. Open terminal and in a new window type: Su
16. Allow root usage and at this time type: sh /storage/emulated/0/mrw/root.sh
17. It will run with a few failed messages do not worry it should open SuperSu momentarily
18. Once SuperSu opens up allow it to update binaries using the "NORMAL" option but DO NOT REBOOT YET
19. At this time either download TWRP Manager from the play store or alternatively use the com.jmz.soft.twrpmanager-7.5.1.3-82-minAPI11.apk provided in the tools folder
20. Install and open TWRP Manager. Once opened click on device name and scroll until you see "LG Leon LTE (c50)"
a. Click on Recovery Version to Install and select "twrp-2.8.7.0-c50.img"
b. next click "Install Recovery" and if prompted for verification of install path and for install version select "YES" & "NORMAL"
21. After the TWRP setup is complete it may prompt you to reboot, if not click the arrow in the top left of the TWRP Manager screen and scroll down to "Reboot" and select "Reboot device"
22. After Reboot click TWRP Manager and verify a SuperSu prompt comes up if it hasn't already before the boot
At this point the device should be running smoothly. From here I prefer to do the following steps.
My Personal Setup after new install:
+Personally I like to install use a Root Uninstaller (I use 3C Toolbox Pro) and Uninstall and Backup all MetroPCS BloatWare including the Metro Browser.
+I also access the Hidden Menu by using the Dialer and Dial "2776348*#*"
- I scroll down to ApnUnlock and click to "Unlock APN"
- Then I navigate to Settings -Tethering & networks - Mobile Networks (I check off roaming data) - Access point names
--I then select the top APN and edit APN Type to: default, supl, mms, dun
---I click save from the top right selection, then turn on and off airplane mode
+If you are and Xposed user download "xposed-v79-sdk22-arm.zip","xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm.zip", and "XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk" from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
-install the Xposed Installer, then Go to TWRP Manager, use reboot to recovery and from there click install and navigate to the "xposed-v79-sdk22-arm.zip" and install and reboot, it will reboot with a installing screen before your home screen, takes 5 minutes.
+I also use this AMAZING app "Wifi Tether Router", it is the only tethering app I use that works consistently (if you have an unlimited data plan). I get 30mbps up and down, playing many multiplayer games off my PC and PS4 averaging ping as low as 30 ! Setting I use for our device are in a post I created here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/leon/help/unlimited-metropcs-t-mobile-tether-t3290180

[GUIDE] Updated KIW-L24 UNLOCK/RECOVERY/ROOT

I've noticed since I've followed the thread the days prior to my device arriving many have struggled to follow the current guides available. I am not responsible for your inability to read, bricked, or internally explosions on devices.
Step 1:
Go to your desktop and create a new folder I labeled mine 'KIWISDK' but you can call it whatever you want. This is where you will store all files during this process so you can easily access them.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 2:
Create and save a blank Wordpad/Word document into the newly created folder on the desktop title it 'bootloadercode'
Step 3:
Assuming you're not android developers or have the massive android SDK on your computers you need to download and install adb and fastboot from here.
Go ahead and put the installer in that folder just for safe keeping, run the exe to natively install adb/fastboot from anywhere on your PC. We will use this a few steps later.
Step 4:
Prior to unlocking your bootloader we have to do a few things first. Go ahead and power on your phone and go through the initial setup process.
You can use the following link (corrected from all the other ones) to create a new Huawei account (click register for free below the login. This website can be found here
Once you've created a user ID you can use this same link to access the bootloader unlock page later.
Step 5:
Once your device is fully initialized go to settings>about phone
click the build number 7 times as shown above. It will display a toast notification that you are now a developer.
press the back button (2) up from the about phone area of the settings you will now see
file:///C:/Users/Jesse/Desktop/developeroptions.png
Be sure that the 'developer options', 'enable OEM unlock' and 'USB debugging' toggles are in the on position.
Step 6:
Open the Huawei website posted in step 4. Login and accept the terms.
On your device go to the dialer and type the following into the keypad:
*#*#1357946#*#* Open the bootloadercode document we created in step 2 and record this number here, leave the word pad open to record the unlock code created on the Huawei website.
With the website open,
Carefully go to About Phone> After you select smart phone and type your model number KIW-L24 into the website open your about Phone>Status enter your Serial number and IMEI number (if your IMEI 1 number doesnt work, try again with your IMEI 2 number. Make sure you have all numbers and letters in this step complete with accuracy. DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK.
Product Identification is the number located on the wordpad/word document copy and past it into this area. Generate the unlock code after typing in the pin.
Copy and paste the generated number onto the wordpad document for future reference and save the wordpad document.
Step 7:
Download TWRP revovery from here
Download the 3.0.2.0 version and save it to your folder you created in step 1
Download SuperSU from here
Save it into the folder on your desktop.
Download opengapps here
Save which ever version you choose to your desktop file (I go with Nano and Micro) Be sure to select the ARM64 and android 6.0 versions.
Also at this time download your favorite custom rom from the ROM/Kernel portion of our website and store it in that file (be sure to check if it needs gapps flashed along with it) if it is a CM based ROM it has to have the gapps either way I always like to keep a gapps zip on my SD card.
Step 8:
Plug your phone into your computer, open your external SD card drag and drop the superSU zip, Open Gapps Zip, and rom if you selected one for future access.
open a command prompt (cmd from Cortana or runcmd in earlier versions of windows.
type the following:
adb reboot bootloader
Your phone should reboot with a white screen, once it has type the following:
fastboot oem unlock 5019482736699543
(these are the numbers the website generated for your specific Identification# copy and paste from the wordpad document 'bootloadercode' It is the 16 digit long code.
Your device will factory reset do not unplug the device until complete.
unplug the device and redo the initial setup. Once complete repeat step 5 to enable USB debugging
Step 9:
Plug the device back into your computer, open the cmd prompt window and type
adb reboot bootloader
FLASHING CUSTOM RECOVERY:
locate the twrp-3.0.2-0-kiwi.img we placed in the folder on your desktop
to ensure you dont misstype anything in the command prompt type:
fastboot flash recovery then drag and drop the twrp-3.0.2-0.img file from the desktop folder to the cmd prompt
It will look something like this:
fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\Name\Desktop\KIWISDK\twrp-3.0.2-0-kiwi.img
**BE SURE THERE IS A SPACE BETWEEN recovery and C:\**
Hit enter.
Once complete type:
fastboot reboot
Step 10:
Let your phone fully reboot, once rebooted Power off your phone.
NANDROID BACKUP - THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP
1) With the phone off hold volume up , the while holding volume up press and hold the power button. You will see the boot logo come up hold for about 2 seconds more and release ( just to ensure )
2)Your phone will boot into TWRP Recovery
3) PRIOR TO FLASHING ANYTHING: Click Backup
Select your External SD card to backup too.
Swipe to backup.
once the STOCK ROM is backed, you can flash the superSU zip from your sd card rooting the stock rom, be sure to wipe cache/dalvik before rebooting.
If you choose to flash a custom rom you placed on your SD card: once stock is backed up:
1. Go to wipe and swipe to wipe stock
2. hit back and go to install
3. select the ROM file you wish to flash
4. select the gapps file
5. you can include SU even if rom is already rooted
wipe cache/dalvik and then reboot. Happy flashing!
will update screenshots and pics soon
this is a holding place
Thanks for this guide. I created an account but for the past 3 days I get the sorry, the server is busy..... Message on every phone and browser I've tried. I tried 3 phones, 7 browsers a windows laptop and an iPad and iPhone they all give me the same silly message after I hit the agree button to the unlock terms and conditions.
What have I done to screw up such an easy process?

Stuck on stock for 3 days really makes the non stock ROMs 10000% smoother! That emui is a trainwreck, it's going to be impossible to go back to that mess.

My PC finds the adb device before I type "adb reboot bootloader" but once in fastboot, it wont find it. How can I fix that?
It's already been found (on the first part) just type fastboot oem unlock fastboot and adb go hand in hand.
Remember once your bootloader is unlocked you will have to go through the initialization process and toggle developer options on again

error msg:
Connection problem or invalid MMI code
Mine worked 2 days ago. So clearly the code works fine check your about phone settings and make sure you have an imei 1 and an imei 2

Let me be more clear, not the ones on the box, you need the digital file backed up via nandroid which originally you said you didn't have? The numbers on the box won't help
So when I install SuperSU, wipe, and reboot... it boots back into twrp

Hi,
thx for your post.
I'm glad it's useful.
Hi, been running my Nexus 7 rooted and on custom Android 6 based ROM and kernal for probably the last 6 years. Admittedly used very little, but still runs like a champ, if not a little sluggish. So I just decided to check back in to XDA and so happy to find this and try it out. However, GApps link not working for me. "File requested does not exist" Any possibility to fix link?
Thanks very much to OP!!
Edit: wow, pardon the banner, haven't been on XDA like I said for maybe six years, or more!
Edit 2: I believe I found the same GApps from another link djibe89 posted in LG G3 tutorial for the same process. Here:

Fantastic! Everything was going smoothly. But the GApps kept failing on install (Unsupported SDK version, and Install config not found). Thought it might be the version I downloaded, but I came back here and found your reply, so rebooted recovery after Lineage 19 install, installed GApps package, wiped Dalvik/Cache, installed Magisk, wiped dalvik/cache, and rebooted system. Joy! Now appears to be up and running. Seems as though reboot>recovery after ROM flash made the difference. Haven't rooted yet, but I am having a lot of fun. Huge gratitude to you for this tutorial and development work, as well as quick reply. Thank you!
Edit: Ahh, I'm pretty rusty. Realized now Lineage 19 is based off of Android 12, instead of 11. So I installed GApps for 11, not 12. Maybe something to do with it...?

Thanks, worked great for me running unofficial Lineage 19/Android 12! I wasn't able to install official Lineage 18.1. TWRP rejected install because it did not recognize my device as flox. I thought that the repartition package renamed it to this, but anyway that is what I ran into.
