LineageOS on Tab A SM-T307U? - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hi,
Was looking on the supported device list for LineageOS, I don't see the Tab A SM-T307U (2020) anywhere.
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung
Does anyone know if it ever will be supported? How does one go about requesting support? What is required to support this device? Is it possible? Thanks

I too would LOVE to have LineageOS 18.1 on my SM-T307U. In fact, the reason I picked up a Galaxy Tab S5e was because I could not find any remedy for my SM-T307U. (I'm still happy about the S5e...ecstatic actually...but learned my lesson to check Root and LineageOS device lists first before picking up any new Android device.)
Anyway, it appears that they've locked down the boot loader on SM-T307U, and nobody has figured out a way around it yet. Don't know if they ever will. Best I can do so far is use "PackageDisabler" paid app (google store)to disable/remove all the Samsung Bloatware, and load my Nova Launcher config & Wallpapers.
The more important thing for me (over a working LineageOS build), would even just to have an Android 11 build for the SM-T307U. I have strong doubts we will ever see one from Samsung/ATT (I have the ATT version).

Ok thank you.
I got the tab a for free from a t-mobile promo. I would have done as you did and checked for support first if I actually bought one.
It does however say android 11 in the system info.

Mine is on Android 10 w/ATT. I did not add it to my ATT account (no Sim), so it is WiFi only. Sw update continues to say no update available for OTA. I just did a fac reset today to see if that may spur it, but still no joy.

Wear OS App on Android Go Device possible?

Hi there,
today my new Skagen Falster 3 (Wear OS) arrived, but my problem is, that my Samsung Galaxy S7 is broken and my currenty device is a ZTE Blade A5 2019. It seems like this device is using Android Go instead of the normal Android (i currently dont know what the technical/software side difference is and i cant find any information about that) and the wear os app is not supported there. I downloaded the apk from the internet but i cant start the app.
I want to wait 1-2 month till i buy a new phone, so is there any way to install the wear os app on my phone? Every way is ok for me, rooting/installing another android version, installing some additional google aps, etc. even when the device slows down. Im looking forward to any help and really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Only custom firmware. I have trying same on Redmi Go. Disabling Go in build.prop didn't help.

Kospet Prime 2 on Android 10 - Root?

The new Kospet Prime 2 has a fairly impressive set of hardware and is one of the first smartwatches to run Android 10.
Since they don't seem to be open to discussing possible root solutions at a smart watch forum I'm on, I'm asking for any possible help and solutions here. It is an MTK based device with the Octacore Helio P22 MT6762, a Sony 13MP camera, 4GB / 64GB, enough cellular bands to work with most any service in nearly all locations, GPS, bluetooth, Wifi, Google Services and most of the usual amenities.
I understand Android 10 creates difficulties in gaining root but I've heard Magisk may give some amount of root privilege but so far I haven't been able to install it on this device. While I've got a lot of devices rooted this is the first one I own on Android 10. Any thoughts, info or help much appreciated.
Just to add some info I simply get 'Installation failed' when Magisk v8.0.2(307) tries to install beta 21.000.
Magisk log file:
- Device platform: arm64-v8a
!Process error
!Installation failed
Developer options are enabled, OEM bootloader unlocked in developer options, USB debuggin On.
Really? ?
After everything I explained....

Sorry pablo but if you see my message on the watch forum you will see I like the challenge of the Impossible. What is true today can change tomorrow as many here have shown that formerly un-rootable phones got rooted.
And as I mentioned there Apple and nearly everyone said you can’t bypass the iCloud lock. I worked on an iCloud locked iPhone for 5 years on and off spending hundreds of hours on it when everyone said it was impossible to bypass it (except for the phony youtubers just wanting clicks and web sites selling bogus claims to unlock for big $$). After 5 years I finally hit on a method to bypass the iCloud lock. Not one of those phony pay services either. Not the half baked DNS barely working method which created a virtual web based iPhone. My own method. iPhone is fully functional now. This was not a stolen phone. I bought it at the time from a guy who admitted it was iCloud locked and I confirmed it was purchased from a guy who forgot to unlock it and forgot his iCloud password. Unfortunatley at that time I believed all the BS on the Internet that it was easy to unlock. I tried every method from about everyone who claimed they had an unlock method. None worked. It was the challenge of the impossible that kept me working on it. A couple times I was very close to taking it out to a shooting range to put a bullet through it. I guess I have an issue with anyone saying I can't do something. I'm not sure my method would
work on all iPhones or all versions but it worked on mine.
Root has been achieved! Thanks to user 'noidremained' and luisreche on the watch forum for letting me know about this. And big thanks and kudos to topjohnwu for achieving this difficult root on Android 10 with Magisk using the 'canary' channel. Still investigating what we can do with this root - may just allow you to snoop around as I believe the system partition cannot be modified further but will update with any news on that.
And thanks to pablo11 and user 'none' on the watch forum we now have TWRP for the Kospet Prime 2 and much thanks for his help and tips. Info here: Root & TWRP for the Kospet Prime 2
Sorry to hijack your thread but was hoping to get your advice. I have a Prime 2 that I've tried to put into developer mode (tap on the Build number and all that). It says it's now in developer mode but there's no developer settings menu item. Just wondering if you experienced the same or if they've updated the build to hide dev options? I'm on D09_KOSPET_PRIME2_V1.5_20201210. Many thanks.

Kospet watches are not CDMA so Verizon is incompatible. Sprint only offers data plans, no talk or text. Watch can not make bluetooth calls. It's a sha.e, it's a beautiful watch.

Not info info. KOSPET will change IMEI but you have to know the frequency network. If you have verizon...its not compatible.
The problem still persists
Hello there... My question might require rooting? Below is a link to what's going on from my channel..
friends already managed to root for the latest version (July/2021)?

Anonymize your S10+

Hallo!
I've recently heard about ROMS,degoogling your Phone etc. and I bought this S10+ Phone. Is there a safe was to delete all bloatware, google Software and so on?
I've heard about GrapheneOS but unfortunately it's only for google devices so I was wondering what kind of solutions exist for this case. There are also phones with hardware kill switches but I'm a little bit skeptical about them.
Please tell me everything you know about this or the best pages to get an idea how to do so. I will be forever grateful

If your s10+ is using an exynos cpu you can install lineage os. Lineage won't work on the snapdragon variants

Hi there sciencebitches,
I realize your original post was from 2020 and its now March 2023 so maybe this is not something your interested in anymore... maybe you have a new phone, etc. But....
The Samsung phones that are sold in North America (either Canada or US) have locked bootloaders that cannot be unlocked. So you are stuck flashing Samsung firmware that is digitaly signed by Samsung.
However, if you get an international model then you can unlock the bootloader and load custom firmware. You have a couple of choices.
LineageOSWhen loading LineageOS, you can choose to load it with or without GApps. Loading it with GApps gives you all the same Google stuff, a library known as Google Play Services, as on normal Android. Loading LineageOS without GApps gives you no Google stuff whatsoever. This is what I am running on my SM-G975F – LineageOS without GApps.
LineageOS for microGThis gives you LineageOS with a substitute library called MicroG. The MicroG library is a reimplementation of the Google Play Services that some (a lot?) of Android apps require. So, if you need to use some apps that require Google Play Services but don’t want to be overrun with Google again, then MicroG is recommended. With “pure LineageOS” (sans GApps) you get no Google Play Services whatsoever.
/e/OSThis is another implementation of LineageOS with MicroG. It is fairly polished but tries to look like iOS and so feels somewhat un-Android like. I have no first-hand experience with /e/OS.
GrapheneOS and Calyx OSThere is also GrapheneOS and Calyx OS but I have no experience with those either. My understanding is they are along the same lines. I think that GrapheneOS comes with no Google Play Services and no MicroG (i.e. like “pure” LineageOS) but gives you the option of installing real Google Play Services (not MicroG) as a normal app as opposed to as a system app.
If you live in Canada I can help you get an international phone that you can install LineageOS or one of the others listed here.
Best regards,
The Fish

Developing Wear OS apps for Ticwatch GTX

(DISCLAIMER: This thread is a repost, I don't know how to move my old thread from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/developing-wear-os-apps-for-ticwatch-gtx.4233191/ to this topic)
Hi there, I just recently bought a Ticwatch GTX, thinking it was installed with Wear OS, but turns out it was installed with a proprietary OS made by Mobvoi (I know... I'm really not careful). The reason why I bought the watch in the first place was to create Wear OS apps with it, but after buying it, I can't even find out how to enable ADB debugging... I've tried clicking each item listed in the Settings page (there is no Build number) 10 times, and none of them triggered a response or a toast message. Any help is appreciated.
I would assume it doesn't support ADB, and even if it does it has only 16MB storage which is probably all filled up by the OS and built-in apps, so I doubt you would be able to fit any other app there.
I found that both the ticwatch s2 and the e2 is priced at only $119.99 now, which is insanely cheap for a Wear OS watch, so you could get one of them, or you could get a refurbished Sport or Express for only 2 dollars more than the gtx.
I also found your post in the ticwatch forum and there you mentioned that this is for an assignment. I can se why you would want a physical device to test on if you are going to make several apps and publish them, but if it's only for an assignment I would think that using an emulator would be good enough

Lineage 16.0 and in Netflix widewine Level 3

Good Morning
sorry this is my temporarily account because my primary account is damaged (i just write an email to the support)
I just installed Lineage 16 last night to my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus LTE Version.
So far so good.
It works all realy fine and i am so so happy because i love this tablet and would not buy a new one.
But i recognize that in Netflix the quality is realy bad.
I also must install the apk manually bevause in the play store it is not visible. (Installed super pack GAPPS)
After a little research i found the problem.
Widewine Level 3 is the problem.
With stock ROM i just had HD Videos but also a very old version of the Netflix APK.
Now i search half a day for a solution but found nothing.
Tryed https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ncertified-devices-by-netflix.4232373/page-13
but this is not for Lv.3 ( i still tryed) ;-P
Different APK's...
I do not know if it is impossible but i want ask friendly here, is it possible with Lineage 16?
THX for your help...and a nice start for this week

Hey there,
I may be wrong, but as far as I am aware as soon as you unlock the device and go custom rom, only SD is available. For me it is good enough on such a small display not to mention since I am cheap I only have a SD sub
So I am really unsure if passing the certification is possible.
Moving to a newer version of LOS would not change anything to that if I am not mistaking.
Let us know if you find anything
Regards
