Galaxy S8 - Reactivated on Boost - Invalid SIM & OMADM Error - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

So it's been a year, or 2 I can't remember since I last used this phone. But I bought this phone through Boost, used it on Boost without issues and then switched to another carrier with a new phone and number. Well 2 days ago I reactivated the S8 back on Boost. I received my SIM card booted up the phone and have 2 notifications. "Invalid SIM" and "Please contact Sprint to unlock device." I've spent a total of 2 hours on chat with Boost between 2 days troubleshooting and trying to figure it out.
Other thing I noticed, I do NOT have Mobile Network Settings in my phone. I even tried to search for it with no luck, I was going to check the APN but that also is no where to be found.
So I hopped onto a Samsung discord where someone advised that I re-flash the stock, which led me to this site to download Odin and Frija. Which I did, and after countless hours of trying to figure out why I kept getting a fail, I switched computers and successfully completed the flash. Cool. Phone boots up, but now it's stuck at 32% update. Get out of that, wipe the cache, reset the phone, it loads up.. Yay, NOT. Still no Mobile Network Settings, but I can search the APN, there is no APN and the "ADD" is grayed out. I'm still getting the same notifications "Invalid SIM" and "Please Contact Sprint to unlock device."
I'm not sure what else I can do, or if there's anything else I can do? I don't understand why it's telling me to contact Sprint to unlock, when It's a Boost Mobile Phone, with Boost apps, and Boost load up screen, purchased from Boost.

So it seems this may not be a phone problem, but a Boost Mobile problem. I just talked to a 5th person on chat and they told me that my phone is too old to work on their new network. They refuse to unlock my device, even though during my search for a fix I came across multiple people with my problem who either easily got their phone unlocked, or filed a complaint with the FCC to get their phone unlocked, and their phone worked.
Also, putting my IMEI in on T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, and Metro all say my phone will work.. but Boost also said my phone would work.. again as it should it's a Boost phone.

[Q] (Unlocked) AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH i337 gives MM#6 error for MetroPCS SIM Card
Hello everyone. I feel that I have a rather unique issue here.
My sister recently bought an AT&T GS4 from eBay to use here under a MetroPCS service. I took it to a local phone shop in order to have it unlocked. I am not a noob when it comes to rooting/unlocking/ROMing/etc. since I've done so and experimented with my Verizon HTC Rezound. Since I've nearly bricked my Rezound three times, I decided that I should leave it to someone more experienced.
I took it in, within 2hrs the guy had the phone unlocked for me. He put in a Simple Mobile SIM card, I called my own phone and it worked. I take it to Metro PCS to have my sisters current line transferred to a SIM card to use the GS4 with. The problem is that whenever the SIM card is put into the phone and turned on, it says Phone not allowed (MM#6). I then proceeded to look up the IMEI to see if its blacklisted. I checked online and it said that it was clean. I also went to a corporate AT&T store to have them check if it is indeed blacklisted and they said that it is clean. While at the store, I decided to look through the phone for anything unusual. After checking the Status of the phone, I find that the IMEI value is 0. I then hit the *#06# menu and get a popup which says IMEI 0/04. I let the Sales Rep know and ask him if that could be an issue and he said that whoever I took it to might have messed up with the root and that there's nothing they can do since I don't have service with them.
I thought that maybe the phone wasn't connecting to the network because it wasn't set on the GSM radio so I used the *#*#4636#*#* menu but yet nothing happens. I added the APN values for T-Mobile (works for MetroPCS) and still no luck. I even tried factory resetting the phone but whenever I add the SIM card, I keep getting the same popup. In the Service Menu (*#0011#>>Back>>Key Input: 1) UMTS Main Menu, I hit [2] Version Info >> [1] SW Version >> [1] Read IMEI >> and it says "IMEI NOT ACTIVE."
I started looking around the net to see if I can restore and/or repair the phone and I've seen YouTube videos of people unlocking the code by using the Service Menu. Currently, I'm looking around the XDA Forums to see if there is anything I can try out. I'd appreciate the help. I do not want to install any ROMs on my sister's phone unless I absolutely have to. If anything, at the moment I'm trying to flash back to stock. Does anybody know anything about this issue? Also, if I am posting in the wrong area, I apologize for the inconvenience.
You need to put the original imei back to your phone, because the guy unlock the phone for you he messed up with your phone 's imei that why after unlock the phone shows zero imei

You're not alone on this one. I bought an AT&T S3 and having the exact same issue as you are. Here's my story...LOL. I met with a gentleman at the local AT&T store. We checked the IMEI, verified it was in good standing. Since he's the original owner, I purchased the phone from him. I use my MetroPCS SIM, and I get the same "MM#6" code you described. I'm very familiar with using AT&T phones on MetroPCS. I have transferred two NOTE 2s and an S4 to Metro accounts with no issues at all. BTW...the IMEI is still in good standing & when I insert a MetroPCS SIM, the IME still shows in the AT&T S3.
My Phone specs: Samsung Galaxy S3
Carrier: AT&T
Version: Android 4.3
What I've tried:
Downgrade to 4.1.1 (Unfortunatley, bootloader can not be downgraded)
There's two things I can think of...The Android version has something to do with it. Or...I've found out that my S3 was used overseas. And since your phone was from Ebay, theres no telling how the phone was used.
My next step is to purchase a clean SIM card from MetroPCS and have transferred to my account. I'll keep you posted on my findings. For now, I'd go to AT&T store and use their SIM and see if your IMEI comes back. Or downgrade the phone if possible and start from the bottom and work your way up.

Heres my update. MetroPCS SIM card is "married" to each IMEI/PHONE. My phone in question (the ATT S3) was not correctly associated with my account. I called MetroPCS customer service (1-888-8METRO8) gave them the ATT S3 IMEI and the SIM number. within 10 minutes, the ATT S3 was up and running. I hope it helps.
Please provide feedback.
I had a similar issue with MM#6
I called MetroPCS - informed them I was receiving MM#6 error and asked them to 'activate' my phone.
Gave them my IMEI and within a few minutes, I was golden!
WORKED
Thank you for your update worked perfect...:d:d:d

Sprint SIM Unlock & SCRTN not working

I was on chat support with International division of Sprint this afternoon, trying to get a SIM card to work in my phone.
I once had a UICC Unlock performed on my device (about three months after I purchased it), and apparently Sprint either re-locked it, or something changed in their system so that I can't use it anymore.
With that being said, we did the UICC unlock, but it kept coming up with "session in progress. please try again later". So, we did the ##72786# code, which initiated the SCRTN reset, but, the phone wouldn't restart. The assistant told me that I would have to wait two hours to see if anything were to happen, but the "Session in progress" message was still going on after the SCRTN reset. This isn't normal, is it?
Would anyone happen to know of a way to fix this, so that I can unlock the phone and use the international SIM so I can call, text and use data?
Right now, this is pretty aggravating.
EDIT: FWIW I have already tried the SIM Unlock tool by Autoprime, it does not work. It said it completed successfully, but the phone wasn't able to reboot. It gave me the ability to get international roaming on my Sprint SIM, but not my telenor SIM.

Activation failed error

It's come to my attention the sprint firmware that came with my phone isn't the standard shipping with the s7 for sprint.
It has no carrier branding, boot img nor apps.
Managed to get Sprint to unlock my phone so I can use it with AT&T. But now I can't get rid of the error in the attached photo. I believe this is the only sprint related software installed.
I had an activation problem too, went to sprint.com and they activated my phone via chat. Maybe you can go there and get some help.
I had issues after that page. It was acting like it had no connection. I ended up turning off both the old and new phones. Turn the new one back on and then it was working.
Except sprint can't help me currently because I don't have a sprint account and I'm using it on AT&T network
delete sprint dm services

Problem changing flashed PagePlus phone to RingPlus

Hi, everyone. I'm new to thie forum.
A couple of years ago I bought a Galaxy S4 from eBay. It was a Sprint phone, flashed to be used at PagePlus, without UICC SIM card, 3G only. It has been working fine on PagePlus (except MMS).
Due to the lack of 4G and hearing the offers by RingPlus, I decided to move to RingPlus. I verified that the MEID and IMEI of the phone on R+ website, they both showed to be fine. So I terminated my PagePlus account, unrooted the phone back to original Samsung ROM for Sprint, and signed up for the Phoenix plan. Everything went well until this point.
I then followed the instruction on R+ website to complete the device activation for Android device (manually provisioning PRL), there's no response when I dialed "##MSL#" (the MSL is correct, as shown on my R+ account). I then tried to perform a PRL update by dialing ##72786#, the phone couldn't be activated. There's a message saying "Because of the type of account you have, we'll need to help you with the task. Please dial *2 from your Sprint phone or call Custom Care at 1-888-211-4727 from another phone so we can assist you."
I checked my MEID and IMEI again, and realized that even though the IMEI does show that it's a Galaxy S4, the MEID is actually associated with a Sanyo 3G phone. The eBay seller must have switched the MEID when flashing it to PagePlus. I didn't realize it until now. When I tried to dial a number using this phone now (after it's terminated from PagePlus), it was directed to Verizon Wireless.
From R+ forum I was told that my current MEID is a "donor MEID". I don't know what the original MEID was. The seller peeled off the sticker inside the phone. I only realized that today too.
So could anyone suggest what should I do? I was told that I need to flashed back to Sprint, but it will be difficult since I don't know the correct MEID. I was recommended to come to XDA to get some advance help. So here I'm.
Thank you very much for your help!
I went through the same process and it was a headache. You need to unflash your phone from Page Plus and reset it back to Sprint. This is going to take more than just unrooting and flashing a stock ROM.
I don't remember the exact instructions but you should Google "flash page plus back to sprint" and then look for Viper32's posts about flashing phones. There are instructions about entering ##RTN# in your dialer to reset the phone. Not sure if that was all it took because my experience was that I tried a lot of different things until one of them stuck. But that was where I started.
The easier way is possibly to take it to a Sprint store and have them reset it but I never tried it myself.

Unlocked Carrier Compatibility: Sprint?

Can the unlocked variant of the Zenfone AR be used on Sprint? I'm getting mixed messages throughout the internet either saying 'no' or 'not all frequencies' but not going into any details.
I have spoken with several Sprint agents and even brought it into a shop--they all give generic answers--"If (after using it on Verizon) you used it on Boost Mobile you can NEVER use it on Sprint.", and "It isn't compatible..."
I had accidentally told him I used it on Boost (pre-paid vs Sprint's post-paid), when in fact I had not, but had used it on Tracfone, so I know it's at least partly compatible with someone.
Two separate Sprint agents over the phone told me that "Asus is considered a 'foreign non-compatible' phone, and nothing can be done about it. There is no Asus phone in use on the Sprint network." Really, I think they should start with me and let mine be the first one, but okay, nevertheless, what a nuisance.
I asked google, who returned something along the lines of "Quora says "second level agents can reprogram the IMEI with tools that first level agents cannot access.", however I'm done trying at this point.
EDIT: But here's a riot--I put my T-mobile nano sim in it, and even though it says "Not a Verizon sim card." it is working 100%.
