Atoto s8 2nd gen, FYI. you can stream the sounds and music via bluetooth to another device. - Android Head-Units

So the main problem with the chinese brands is the lack of output quality especially the subwoofer output, i always wonder if you could do this and couldnt find any info about it, well today im happy to report, you can, in my case my car allow me to have two headunits, and i get to keep my volume knob, but i guess is possible to also connect the unit to a amplifier with bluetooth.

[Q] Audi android 4.4.4 sound & bluetooth issues

Need a little help, I bought a unit but it's locked the Bluetooth to the phone and music streaming so I can't pair it to my OBD bluetooth dongle.
Other issue are the crap built in eq for sound control for the Audi bose system. Ran poweramp to get better music control and the eq in that sorted my music quality issue but it plays music at a low volume so when you switch to radio all he'll goes on due to the massive difference in volume levels.
so any help or suggestions would be great
I believe that PowerAmp has its own volume and balance controls that are independent from the unit's "generic" controls. What I recomend you do is set the unit's EQ to flat and use the PowerAmp to set the EQ the way you want. For the volume it would be the other way around; leave PowereAmp at max volume and use the system's volume to control it.
As for the bluetooth issue, how do you know it's "locked" for phone and music? It may say that on when you pait your phone, but that's only because that's what your phone supports but it doesn't mean you can't pair an OBDII device. In fact, I have that same hting on my phone but I'm still able to pair with my OBDII at the same time.
Are you using a custom ROM or are you still stock? I believe some people have had problems with some OBDII devices which are corrected with an Xposed module (I never had any problems so I don't have much more info).

I am curious what unit you purchased. I purchased an Audiosources unit for my A3 and after the initial test fit, I have no sound. I unhooked the unit and ran some wiring and now no sound from the radio, stored music, streaming, Bluetooth or even video. Everything powers up and seems to work though. I have not tried to pair a second device yet so I cannot help with that issue. When the sound did work, I did have the low rear volume issue that you appear to of had as well. Thanks.
When I hooked mine up as I have full Bose there was zero sound, I had to use a hi/lo converter which did the trick. The low sound I nailed down to the crap built in eq as I downloaded a great app that overrides it for everything bar the radio for some reason (app viper4android). My unit is going back due to a faulty volume knob, I will be ordering a different unit from some other supplier.
Thanks for the info. I have Bose as well. Can I ask what year and model your Audi is and the brand of the unit you returned and the new one you are considering?

Help with Joying 5.1.1 headunit and Sabre 9018 USB Dac support

Hi All,
I need some help getting my Sabre 9018 USB DAC to work with the Joying Headunit.
I have recently purchased a Joying 7" 5.1.1 headunit. The sound quality of this unit is terrible, and after hearing the 9018 DAC connected to my phone, I simply cannot go back to the Joying sound. I'm quite good at troubleshooting/mods for Android but not an expert at all.
I've managed to get sound out of the DAC when using HibyMusic player installed on the Joying without Volume control. Spotify/Poweramp/android music player simply do not work.
My Samsung s5 using Xstrolite rom played everything flawlessly through the DAC plug and play.
I've reviewed some threads regarding DAC support but nothing really helps with the 5.1.1 units. Hence why I need help from you guys,
Thanks in advance
Daniel
the "workaround" for this is to get an external DSP, and then use the remote control of the DSP to control the volume.
Several of us here use the C-DSP 6x8 and it works well. It also includes SPDIF in, so you can go full digital all the way to the DSP. It is not a cheap solution, but if you can manage to find a good deal on a used one, it will allow you to control volume in the apps that have a dedicated USB driver. For non-critical listening, you can use your normal joying pre-outs, so you effectively get a fully functional system without having to heavily modify the HU system files.
Also there is a cheaper DSP available from minidisp called the 2x4, and you can connect an external potentiometer to control the volume. This would be the cheapest method of doing what I described above, and you still get the huge benefit of able to EQ your system with a real DSP.
Okay, thanks for the feedback. So even using neutron player, you still can't control the volume? I would try this, but Im away for work atm. Thanks again
Inside the app, yes, by attenuating the output. But you still get no sound outside of apps without a USB driver. That's why I like the dsp option. If sq is high priority it's the optimal choice regardless. Especially if you get one with digital in like the cdsp 6x8.
Do you hear FM radio and Bluetooth sound through USB ?

Low Quality Bluetooth Audio (Treble distorting)

Hey! I'm more of an Android newbie (I have an iPhone). I just installed an Android head unit in my car. So far everything is pretty good except the Bluetooth audio quality. Whenever a cymbal hits in a song, it distorts and sounds really bad. It doesn't distort when playing music any other way. I know it's not my iPhone, because it streams to other devices just fine. This seems to be a common problem in some radios, and even just the android OS. How can I fix it?
My radio is an Android 6.0.1 unit with an Octa Core chip, 2gb of ram, and 32gb of flash, which I bought from Idoing on AliExpress (since it won't let me post a link)
Thanks!
I'm having the same issue. I'm really bummed about it as I love the unit but the bluetooth sound quality just sours it
I've read people just getting Bluetooth dongles and attaching them to AUX, but that's more of a hack then a solution.
We may be SOL if it's a hardware issue. I'll keep searching.
After reading a lot of the MTCD threads I've heard people using this Bt+Wifi dongle
https://www.ebay.com/itm/151917910379
According to reports, the head unit will use it as the system's internal Bluetooth.
I've ordered one and once it arrives will report back on it this fixes our issue.
Dont know if it's relevant, but I'm using the preamp outs on my unit as my car has a builtin bose amplifier,
@bonesteel94 are you using the preamp outs or just the standard amplified signal from the head unit?

Connecting via USB to processor/DAC - Eonon GA8150 Android 7

Hi Guys
I have been searching and researching for hours but can't get this to work the way that I want, although I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.
I recently purchased one of my dream cars, and promptly changed the headunit to a more modern unit, to allow me to have spotify, google maps, etc etc. I purchased the Eonon GA8150A for this purpose, and it sounds OK.
I was always planning to upgrade the sound, namely using a Helix DSP and amplifier, upgrading the speakers, etc etc.
Since the helix has an optical input, I figured I could maximise quality by running a digital signal to the unit - to this end I purchased a Behringer UCA202, as its a class compliant USB DAC which has optical out.
I connected via USB, and went into developer settings, and changed the "Select USB Configuration" to Audio. I plugged in some headphones for testing, and....nothing.
After some research, I downloaded the Onkyo player, and this worked! I was getting audio via my USB dac, through the headphones. But spotify, bluetooth, radio, nothing else worked.
Was wondering if what I am trying to achieve is possible?
The only other alternative it to sell the uni, and purchase an AVIN Avant 3 unit - this comes with high quality 4V pre outs but its a lot more expensive and i really dont want to do this. I could use the RCA outs on the Eonon to feed the processor, but as mentioned, these leads to many stages of A/D D/A conversion that will markedly reduce quality.
Thanks
Saad
Ok updates - it now works - the inbuilt audio player via USB, spotify, both work, however the radio doesn't send audio via the DAC, and nor does it send audio to the dac from my phone via bluetooth.
Not sure why this works now, maybe I had to turn off the car a while so the unit could properly reset?
The head unit volume control however doesn't work to adjust the volume of the audio coming from the dac.
Any way to get radio and bluetooth working via the dac?
Cheers

Play car sound on bluetooth speaker

So I replaced my head unit with a after market one a few months ago.
the exact model is an Xtrons TE706PL.
I also have a good set of car speakers ( 2x pioneer ts-g1720f (front door), 2x caliber cds46(trunk)
they work great and stuff but when I try going for more bass the sounds starts cracking. I know I could get a subwoofer to fix
but I wanted to try if it was possible to connect a bluetooth speaker to my car headunit. I have a JBL Boombox which sure pumps out more bass for sure. My idea was maybe trying to connect the JBL boombox to my headunit via bluetooth and using it as a Sub.
Did anyone try this? Is it even possible? if not I think I might have to get a Sub after all but I'd rather keep the 200-300 dollars in my pocket (I don't have a separate car amp and even though my head unit does have a sub input I'm not sure if that's actually a good think with the head unit amp(4x 45w)
any other thoughts and Ideas are more than welcome.
PS. im not 100% sure if this is the correct place to ask this
