alarm clock icon next to wifi strength indicator..no idea whats triggering it - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

thread title is as it says, got an alarm clock icon next to my wifi strength indicator and ZERO clue what triggered it or how to get rid of it.
help?

Open your Notification Panel
Press and hold the Settings Icon for a couple of seconds and then release
You will see a notification acknowledging that System UI Tuner has been added to settings and the settings panel will open
Scroll down and select System UI Tuner
Select Status Bar
Select Alarm
With Alarm now deselected you will see the alarm icon has been removed from the status bar

Do you use Tasker?
Certain apps, such as Tasker, have use scheduling functions that cause the alarm icon to be constantly displayed on newer versions of Android. Tasker has a setting called "Reliable Alarms" that disables this.

I...THINK I figured it out? I got as far as clearing alexa's cache and that solved the problem. still no clue how to get into the system ui tuner though.

System Ui Tuner- how to enable

Want to add battery percentage?
Want to customize the quick toggles?
Pull down the notification bar and press and hold on the settings gear icon
You will see a message upon releasing that system ui tuner has been added to your settings... Enjoy
Doesn't seem like you can really add any Quick Settings... the only tile you can add is a "Broadcast Tile" and it doesnt seem to do anything or show up

On my Nexus 5 (not 5x) I can add these options: Invert colors, Do not disturb, Hotspot, and Broadcast Tile.
On the 5X it shows Invert Colors, DND, and Hotspot as already being in the list even though Hotspot and Invert Colors are not shown unless the features are actually turned on at the time
This won't work for me for some reason? Disable encryption and rooted, only things I can think of that might interfere?
Fixed: Enabled animations in Developer Options again, rebooted, gear finally spun and unlocked the feature.
This is odd. I can't seem to enable System UI on my 5x. It's rooted, unencrypted. I am using Nova Launcher, but even when I revert back to Google NOW I still can't enable it.
I'm pressing down on the cog icon for at least 30 secs easily. Any ideas?
Oh, need to enable animations as noted above.

Yea, I tried to use the Invert Colors toggle just to see what it does but it doesn't show in the notification when I exit the system UI tuner. I honestly hate the embedded battery percentage, wish it showed outside of the battery

Can't hide Lock screen notifications

I can't seem to hide notification from the lock screen. The settings for this don't work. For certain apps I want to see notifications but not on the lock screen. Has anyone encountered this issue?
Also if you go to :
App - Management: choose your app
Under Notification = block all?
Try to uncheck

If you do this ,this means you won't get any notification at all .
Sorry about I also can't find any about hide notification message in settings .
but there is also some apps will provide this function. such as wechat in settings->notifications->show preview text .
I think you should try this way.
There is an option to disable lockscreen notifications on a per app basis in the settings of App Management, but it just doesn't seem to work at all.

Just long press it, then go to notifications, toggle it on, the lockscreen notifications, then toggle it off, work for me, no more lockscreen notification, but on the home launcher I do have it. I am not sure why it doesn't work as is, but toggling it on and off will work.

How to Access System UI Tuner in EMUI 5.0! (no root)

By default you are unable to access the system UI tuner in emui. With this app (ALL CREDIT TO LEEDROID) you are able to add various shortcuts to your quick settings tiles. One of these is UI tuner, which will bring you to the settings unlike holding the settings cog.
Note that this method is sometimes rather buggy when getting to the menu, and it works best if your settings application is cleared from recent apps.
Just download the app, hit edit in your quick settings, drag the UI tuner to your quick settings and you're set to go.
Don't give up if it won't work on the first press! Clear your recent apps and give it another shot.

I discovered this a while back on the Mate 9, but unfortunately most of the functions don't work so there's really no point to it.
I tested this, but if I'm right, not many of those new settings in System UI tuner work in Honor 8. I did not get Power notification controls to do anything new (no new settings appeared in app notification settings). Similarly turning on Do not disturb mode shortcut seemed to once flash the options in the volume popup, but after that... nothing. The only thing I managed to get to work was to remove icons from status bar.
Or did I do something wrong?

No, you did it correctly. Some of the settings may not work properly due to the EMUI skin. The issues you listed are probably why honor had it hidden in the first place. But there are still some useful settings in there.
There is simpler method to do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm8PEYKrjrw
However SystemUI is very limited, nothing useful to do

Pull down quick settings toolbar, hold your finger onto the Settings icon until the popup shows up, enable UI tuner and disable the icons you don't want to be shown

"Headset is plugged" notification is notification, not a system icon (you can see it clearly in the notification shade) and it can't be disabled by System UI tuner.

System UI Tuner Not Working

Trying to access the System UI Tuner through Nova Launcher/Widget/Activities/System UI Demo but the app keeps crashing when I try to access. Anyone else having this issue, find a fix, or find another way to access the System UI Tuner?
Same problem. Would like to know how others are accessing it.
I thought that was just a stock Android thing, no?
Same here with my S10e. I think Samsung is trying to prevent us from removing the icons from the status bar.
If you go to settings and click on the search icon and search for "Status bar information", you can select/deselect items from the list like Time, Date or Battery Power.
However, it does NOTHING even if you deselect all and items like clock still persists in the status bar.
Use this:
NiceLock
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/themes/app-nicelock-lock-2019-launcher-pie-t3908649
You can hide everything + do much more
Same here, I just want to show seconds on my clock using System UI Tuner but I still cannot access it using S10.
