Xiaomi officially disables faulty update 12.0.8 and beyond - POCO M3 Questions & Answers

I saw this morning and it seems they finally recognized the firmware bug for poco m3 really funny. Most likely all poco updates are disabled now. Can we see a future patch fix ? Nope. Probably not. Gl to those who bought this ****ty phone. Hopefully this is not your everyday phone.

Did you just try to check for updates on an outdated stock ROM and assume they temporarily disabled the updates or did you see any official news about it?

Just got brand new poco m3 12.0.6 and there are no ota updates available.

Does update 12.0.10 bootloop Poco M3? mine is with 12.0.9 after bootlooping it once and I'm afraid to install the latest update and brick it again

mine is on 12.0.8 and works fine, I have got an update notification but I am not going to do it. Later this month I am going to unlock and get rid of that MIUI.

I just updated to the latest MIUI without issues.
Just the phone is a useless piece of crap without the notification led, the weak wi-fi signal and the weak call audio volume.
Not to mention both Xiaomi and Poco never replay to e-mails, Facebook messages and phone's own help system.

Amazon Moto G4 having sim issue after nougat update

I got the nougat update a couple days ago and since then it will periodically say no sim.
Phone is stock. No hacks to turn off ads or anything.
Anyone else reporting issues?
I don't get the update yet, I do the trick to remove the ads, that could be the reason I don't get the update...?
You know how to go back to stock and get the ads and probably get the nougat update...?
Thanks

Notification issues on EMUI 8

Updated OTA about a month ago and it's stock, unrooted and I think I can't even get a bootloader code anymore so that's that.
I get persistent notifications from apps that I delete and they reappear a couple of seconds later.
And Android System complains that *x app is drawing over apps* or *x app is using battery*, turning them off doesn't help (Android System does not care).
Though again it's still 8.0 and not 8.1 so I guess it will be buggy though I didn't expect much of it.
Any ideas on how to shut them up besides waiting for a 8.1 update or rooting(I think I can't anymore anyways?)

Previous bugs still present in the latest firmware

I recently bought the blue colour version of azmpm1, and as usual it was having the same multi touch bug and below average front camera, then I checked for updates and first it downloaded around 560mb update and after installing it I again checked for updates and it installed the latest 19/09 update, so my phone updated only twice but now even if I'm on latest firmware the previous bugs like multi touch and poor camera performance are still present, I compared to my friend's phone who bought the phone very early and has got each and every update, it's like my phone skipped the updates in between where those bugs were fixed, I need help if anyone knows about it.

Oneplus 6T software issues

Hello guys,
I bought my 6T a few days ago and have been noticing some annoying software issues:
1. When I unlock my phone it doesn't take me to the application I was using before I locked the screen; it takes me to the home screen.
2. The recent applications keep getting cleared even though I've turned the battery optimisation off.
3. In the lock screen when there's a notification, the ambient display shows the notification but touching on it doesn't turn the screen on. You have to hit the power button or unlock the phone in order to check notifications.
There a couple of other minor issues like apps crashing and then restarting that don't happen too often.
Just wanted to check if others are facing these issues as well and if someone has any solutions.
Those sounds like bugs in the OS, I say this since I'm experiencing the same issues on my OP6 running Open Beta 6 (based off OS 9.0.4 for the 6T).
Have you submitted a bug report on OnePlus feedback page? This way it will get the right people in front and get the issues resolved.

The device and oxygen Pie is pretty new so you gotta give it some time for software update.
Also do you have the tmo variant or the unlocked version?
Because the tmo variant has not gotten any software updates yet.

That's a fair point. I haven't done it yet, but I will. Thanks for suggesting it.

I have the unlocked version. You're right it's still pretty new and OnePlus might have jumped the gun a little bit in releasing this in an attempt to be there first OEM to push Pie. Let's hope they fix this in a future update.
I think I finally figured out why the recent apps get cleared. OnePlus has set the background app limit to 16 which is retarded. I remember it was the same on the OnePlus 3 as well. And of course you can't just modify the build.prop file to increase this limit.
It's things like this why we need root. I'm probably gonna have to do it soon if I don't find a way around this.

External Speaker useless after 8.1 OTA update (impossibly quiet)

Not, rooted, located in US.
Before I did the OTA update to 8.1 last night, my external speaker worked fine, both for speakerphone calls, and media playback.
During my first use of 8.1 today, the external speaker is now so quiet (on full volume) that it's useless in all but the quietest rooms.
Calls on speakerphone are barely louder than if I just shut the speaker off. Watching Youtube on full blast is barely discernible in an average noise environment, and forget listening to music outside or in the car.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Same problem here
It's a official software bug. Most of the people who updated Oreo got this issue. If you want to use your phone use any other custom ROM available here. Otherwise need to downgrade to Nougat. If you can wait for another update from Moto to rectify this bug means bare with this volume issue untill Moto releases new update to fix this.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I doubt Moto will ever release a fix for this.
I never bothered rooting this phone, I guess I am going to find out if its even possible, now that it has Oreo on it.

Rooting stock Oreo is even easier compared to Nougat, because you don't need a custom kernel anymore. Still I would advise to use the new Loony Kernel or ElementalX for being able to use different RGB values if your device has screen retention problems.
Other observations from this OS "upgrade:"
My phone now struggles to stream Youtube to Chromecast... video/sound sometimes is choppy... previously no issues at all.
Sometimes the phone randomly decides Wifi wont work. Can flip the switch to the on position, but it still says "Wifi is off." Only recourse is to restart the phone.
Overall very disappointed. Can't wait until I get a chance to root and ditch this OTA update.
