Is it worth it to downgrade from stock Android 11 to 10? - Asus Zenfone 6 Questions & Answers

Hello, I've been experiencing several bugs in the latest Android 11 update. I was told to do a clean installation and check if the problems still continued. The bugs are still there. So, I've been thinking to downgrade to Android 10. Should I go for it? Please let me know if you, too, have downgraded from 11.

Should Root or Wait for Update!?

What you guys suggest!? I want to root my Phone but I am waiting for The Oreo Update
Should I wait Further or not!?
Personally I was wondering the same, but decided a week or so ago to unlock the bootloader and install lineage 14.1. Happy with my decision, it actually fixed a bug I had with NFC only working occasionally. Also good to be able to use my root apps again. I won't upgrade to Oreo until after the official Oreo release and developers have had a chance to fix the issues there seems to be with Bluetooth calling, votle, imei, etc.
So my answer would be sure go ahead, as long as you know what you're doing it for and understand the risks.
I agree with NZedPred, nothing wrong with rooting and installing custom rom, but I wouldn't install any Oreo rom until/if official Oreo for this device gets released. Just too many problems.
Same here waiting for Oreo before root

If you can fix the various common problems that may come with custom ROMs, go ahead. Otherwise, you could stay stock and wait for the update. It all depends on you if you want to have the latest Oreo (8.1 and the latest security patches).
If you just want to root, it's fine too but you'll still lose warranty.
Not sure, i have zero problems on ResurrectionRemix Oreo.
I was thinking the same and now i'm glad that i did it. RR working like a champ.
some custom rom are stable and u can use for daily driver
I'll wait. There's nothing revolutionary about Android 8, the custom roms are almost always buggy, and also all these reports of IMEI 0 are troublesome.

Switch from Android 8 to Android 6

Hello, I installed the latest version 1.3b03 of my A2017G.

SM-T580 screen problem when installing Android 7.0 or 6.0

I have been trying to downgrade my tablet with a custom rom and stock rom.
Everything works perfectly, no issues on the rom, but when I reawake when my screen goes off, the screen just shows line for a second and closes, but the system is on.
These issues don't happen on any version newer than android 8.0.
When I try to downgrade, my main unmodified android version was 8.1.
Is there any fix to this?

Can't imagine why you'd want to downgrade, must be some compelling reason... Lots of folks here using custom 9.0 (pie) roms that kick butt! Still, I don't have a proper answer-- I don't know if you can go back from 8.0 or not. Good luck, hope you get what your looking for.

Updating error - how to update for OxygenOS 10

Hi.
I just got my hands on a Oneplus 5. It's running OxygenOS-version 4.5.5 and Android version 7.1.1 in danish.
I want to update to newest stable OxygenOS version 10 but I get an error when trying to install it.
I downloaded Full OTA to OxygenOS 10.0.1 from https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5-finally-gets-oxygenos-10-0-1-bug-fixes/.
Is it the newest version to install and why does I keep getting an error?

You cant update like that, you have to go through ver. 8, 9 and 10 seperatly. You can just jump to 10.
Is it an unrooted phone running 100% stock? if so go and download Oxygen Updater and let that update everything for you. You are going to have to go through all the updates but at least you can download each one after an other.

OOS 13 Curious

Hey,
So I've been custom since day one of my Op8 pro. I am thinking I would like to try OOS13 - mainly out of curiosity and I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me with:
Is there an MSM flashable OOS13 build (stable) for EU / Global models or is it still restricted to India only? I've read people are getting the update from 12 OTA. If not, what is the latest version I can flash? My base is C33 at the moment but I got that by running OTA's from OOS 11. Don't really want to have to revert to OOS11 and OTA update through 2 versions if I don't have to.
Is there any issue with going back to custom roms that require C33 if I do try OOS13? Or is it simply a case of MSM'ing the version I should be using in the question above?
I remember having a LG V50 and upgrading to the latest version which basically eliminated the ability to use custom roms. Hoping there is an easy downgrade path if I don't like OOS 13 - which is likely TBH.
Thanks for your advice!
