Changing Volume without knob/buttons - Joying JY-UQD11N4G - Android Head-Units

I've got a Joying JY-UQD11N4G - so far, so good. Really happy with the stereo.
Only issues so far is not having any physical volume controls on the stereo.
I've got steering wheel controls which work, but want something on the screen.
Is it possible to setup some sort of onscreen volume control?
Maybe a multi finger (3?) swipe of some sort?
I'm currently using Car Launcher Pro.

best option without root would be to install a shade replacement that has a volume control, not sure if powershade has this as an option or not.
Power Shade: Notification Bar - Apps on Google Play
Personalized custom notifications for a better user interface and experience.
play.google.com
with root someone could definitely write such a thing.
you may be able to do something in accessibilty but have never tried.

quickly adjusting sound - like on the wizard

I am really missing the abilty to quickly change the volume of the phone using the up down wheel like you could on the wizard.
The fact the wheel allows easy access to the screen is great though.
The ideal solution seems to be to map the left hand side ok button to the volume control instead of the start menu when on the today screen.
unfortunatly the buttons options in the settings do not include the ok button.
Is anyone aware of how to do this?
Maybe one of Vijay's apps could achieve this...

Volume Control using Scroll wheel?

Hi,
I used to have a T-mobile MDA for 2+ years and I'm very acustomed to simply sliding a button up/down in order to increase/decrease ringer volume ( I simply hold it down for a few secs and it goes to slient).
I just got my HTC and find that the scroll wheel wants to scroll items on my "today" screen...instead of controlling the volume!!
Is this standard or is there a way I can have the scroll wheel control the Ringer?
i too want to know how to do this!
Anyone have any ideas on this? It's my only gripe left on the XV6800 and I've searched for quite a while trying to find any resolution.
If you open up the speaker icon, you can then use the scroll wheel to adjust the volume settings. Believe you can aslo adjust the volume with the scroll wheel when the phone is ringing.
Any better solutions than this?!
I'm not sure about it. One day out of nowhere my Mogul started using the scroll wheel as the volume control, even when I had programs opened (contacts, PIE, etc..) that I would use the scroll wheel with, it controlled the volume. It opened up the menu and would raise/lower, put into vibrate/silent. I don't remember installing any applications or anything, but I lost functionality of it as a volume control after just a soft-reset. I personally thought it was annoying trying to scroll through 175+ contacts and having the volume slider pop up instead.
I would assume there's some sort of background application you can acquire that allows this, but I haven't found one yet.
I was annoyed that the wheel doesn't control volume at will so I downloaded S2U2 (slide to unlock) and that program comes with a master volume control for the phone volume and in-call volume. I set it to one of my buttons on the left, its awesome.

Is it possible to map steering wheel controls to an app on a Joying head unit?

Just installed a Joying JY-ULS01N2 in my Jeep. Loving it so far, even though it's only been in a day. I just got the steering wheel controls hooked up and was wondering if there's some way to map a steering wheel button to an app. Specifically, I'd love it if I could open Google voice search without having to use the touch screen.
I know there is not button map option for an app, but maybe someone has used Tasker or some other app to do this?
Related question re: the "Source" button mapping. This appears to only toggle through the Joying-installed source apps (radio, BT, phone, aux, video). Can these apps be changed? I'd love to be able to toggle through Spotify, SiriusXM, PowerAmp, etc., since those are my go-to media apps.
Welp, I just checked to see if there were any replies and instead saw this post directly below mine: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-units/joying-2gb-steering-wheel-key-t3543390. Think I'll give gustden's script a try and see what happens.

Making Joying Android 8.1 usable? Need universal volume widget & play/pause widget!

Making Joying Android 8.1 usable? Need universal volume widget & play/pause widget!
Hi,
I just picked up a Joying Android 8.1 head unit (JY-UOS02N4GS). I'm rather new to Android head units and am running into a couple issues...
The volume control buttons on the unit's trim sucks (doesn't respond well to button pushes) and I've been trying to find some kind of Volume slider widget I can add to my home screen.
Also, I need some way to universally play/pause regardless of what app is playing music. "Ubiquity Music Widget" was the best I could find, but sometimes the widget doesn't refresh on my home screen and I have to remove it and re-add it to get it to work again.
Anyone have some tips on a volume slider widget and a universal play/pause button widget?
BTW, I'm using Nova launcher.

Just buy a USB volume knob for Android.
A physical knob. Then attach the knob to one of the blank/dummy panels on your dashboard.
I bought this one a couple years ago: "Fusion Control USB Powered and Controlled Rotary Volume Knob" and it works great.
Plug it into your stereo's USB port and it should be picked right up.

Android headunits launchers that have working media controls.

Hi, I just installed an android headunit in my car and I am looking for some good launchers.
I tried Agama launcher and it's probably my favorite, but the main thing that makes it great is the way you can control the volume with the rotating ring, and it doesn't work on my unit.
I also couldn't find any other launcher that let's you modify the volume in that way. I don't have any volume buttons on my steering wheel and the touchscreen buttons on the headunit are in a not so convenient place so I would really like to have an option to change it on the screen.
I also found the CarWebGuru launcher which does have working volume buttons but for some reason the "Next/Previous Song" buttons don't work with my bluetooth music. Everytime I press it it goes in a player and tries to play local songs.
Do you know a launcher that has both of these things? (Or even better, a way to make Agama's volume buttons work) Thank you!
