No, honest. The reason I posted here was bcos someone said i was asking in the wrong forum. There is no reason to post the same question if I have already seen ur reply. I don't use xda much so I don't really know how to maneuver around. Sometimes I double post by accident and I don't really see an option to delete the unwanted replies.

Dude.. read my post again i started off sayin im not too sure and i also apoligized for that, so dont u think, its much fair not to be a D**k that ur acting as at the moment.
i mean really, if you have such a problem replying to something like that why bother printing ur valueavble thoghts, cus they aint.
In easier words, dont be a part of the problem if you cant come up with solution.
Whatever. Look at the 2 replies before me.
And maybe next time you can be specific with your thread title. "Is this valid" could mean lots of things.. at least include "2.1" since that's what you wanted to post

From the first sticky on this forum:
"So remember... before you start a thread in development, ask yourself what you are developing. If you can't answer, then stop, step away from the post button, and think about where you are posting. Would it be better in General or Q&A, or is some more time with your best friend, search, required?"
my bad. Was not thinking. Can a mod maybe move this to general?

Anybody that reads a tech website knows about it. Samsung's already put out a press release acknowledging the problem. When it's fixed, I'm sure they'll know about it before we will and put out another press release. Nothing's going to hijack your device that you don't allow. Don't visit sketchy websites, download iffy apps with a low number of users, and don't accept certificates from website's you're not comfortable with. For the time being I'd disable "Unknown sources" in settings and enable "Certificates" in the browsers security settings. Samir pointed out earlier the naive could get in trouble accidentally. We here aren't naive.
May be i used the wrong word what i ment was an normal user who is a layman when it comes to tech and believe there are many on this site to who come for advice.
Will i still be able to update to the jellybean ota after this root method?

There was no need to report this. How exactly is this the wrong section for what @invinciblecc asked? It's actually the perfect place to ask a question like this. It is the Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section after all, and asking a question on how to do something is exactly what was done here. Now if it had been posted in the development section, that would've been the wrong place because it's not explaining how to add zram and swap.
OP should try the XDA forums hardware hacking etc as well as this section .
Devs tend not to read Q&A .
Better to ask a dev that have a low RAM device.
zram have no benefits for a 3GB ram device. On the contrary, it increases cpu usage and lowers battery life.
This is why none of the devs here added support of zram to an hlte kernel.

Lol which one? Do you mean this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/how-to/guide-photochrom-filter-enabler-t4112519
The thread was locked as the op never posted a link to the magisk module.
The other thread discussed two ways to get photochrome back the non root way doesn't work (I tried).
Sorry if you think I am lazy and that it's a shame that I am a senior member. I have already looked at every section here for it and haven't found any viable way.
I just find it strange that you would exert any energy in replying to my post even though you weren't going to help in any way and in fact started acting rude for no reason. Like if you don't know then don't bother posting, it's that simple and quite embarrassing for you.

Actually at the time of posting initially it wasn't locked. I don't come on XDA to check on threads when I don't need to. It's a lot quieter these days. I have an actual job to do...
Plus to answer your second question, I would rather exert energy advising someone to do something themselves instead of me doing it for them. Especially when it's just a case of looking..it aids the growth of XDA in a positive way instead of the same questions being asked 100 times.
Bottom line is the locked thread is a thread based on what you need, the OP has an XDA account so why not ask them? Or look through Magisk??
Someone not looking for something for you isn't rude btw it's calling out laziness, that's an observation, nothing rude about it.
In fact I find you talking to me like I'm your employee to me! Is rude.
I'm not doing this back and forth anymore with you, read the rules of XDA, searching is one of the top suggestions as most information is out there.

Yes, there was no download link for the magisk module, no matter what anyone says. Moderator closed the thread due to that fact. There was NEVER a download link provided. Don't let one bad apple who likes to run their mouth discourage you. It's ok to ask a question. It's ok to not be able to find an answer. It's OUR responsibility to provide help, especially a senior member to another member, n00B or vet of xda.

You could not be more wrong.
I advised that there was a thread, the work has obviously been done. The thread was a placeholder whilst it was uploading.
If you think that asking an obvious question is the right thing to do on XDA then you're mistaken.
Asking a question is fine yes but to say it's "our responsibility" to answer? No you're bang on wrong.
If someone knows an answer then yes provide it, but don't make the mistake of thinking that XDA members are obligated to because no one is, it's out of the goodness of their heart, nothing more.
And lol I'm not a bad apple. I've committed years to helping users on XDA, I don't have to prove myself to anyone. Take a look at my previous posts and guides which there had been hundreds of.
The short answer is:
The chap who set the placeholder will have the answer. If not then there is no answer, perhaps downgrade.
As for someone searching instead of you finding it yourself.
Take a little look at this video
one plus again fooled us, they added a software filter which simulates like infrared photography, that too in outdoors, and it uses 48 mp main camera. So if you want to get 5 mp IR camera functional by root and props, #Dont_update_to_10.5.11.
