Bootloader Question - Sprint LG G6 Questions & Answers

How was the bootloader button combo figured out? is there a script or something hidden in the kernel or bootloader or someplace else? doing research on a different lg phone and was curious.

My Moto G4 always boots to Bootloader

I've rooted my Moto G4 XT1625, nearly bricked it, had to reset it a few times to get WiFi to work, and am right now in a good place. The one last thing I'd like to fix up is that whenever I normally boot my phone (single press of Power button when it is off), it will load to the bootloader as if I was pressing Power and Volume Down.
I flashed the stock images from moto's site and that's when I noticed this particular problem.
It's not that big of a deal, and may get me to do more regular backups through TWRP, but some quick searching the internet and xda forums seems this isn't a common problem; I couldn't come up with the right keyword combination to find it. (You know how common "Bootloader" is?) I was curious if anyone knows what happened and how to fix it so that I can do a quick restart of my phone without entering the bootloader every time. (And of course I want to retain my ability to enter bootloader if I press the Power and Volume Down key to boot.)
Cheers
Having the same issue amz XT1625 7.0 locked BL
I am currently having this issue as well on my Amazon XT1625, also i am on Stock 7.0 and locked bootloader.
Does anyone have any insight into this issue?
Edit:

Code:
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear

LG H918 V20 Hard Brick - Dirty Santa

Got a new V20, but it's been hard bricked after running step 3 of the Dirtysanta patch.
Before running Dirtysanta, I did unlock the bootloader by rebooting into fastboot and running
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
I verified it was unlocked through fastboot.
In order to install TWRP, I started Dirtysanta from the top. It seemed to be going successfully until I ran step3.bat to reboot the phone.
The screen only comes to life when taking out the battery completely and plugging it in. It brings up a no battery warning screen.
If the power button is pressed, the phone vibrates but the screen remains off. Same with pressing vol. down + power while trying to get into recovery mode.
Holding vol. up and plugging in the USB to get to download mode hasn't worked. I don't know what else to do.
edit: one other person in the dirtysanta thread has indicated he had the same problem. seems that dirtysanta completely bricks T-Mobile V20s. welp.

Is there anyway to revive a v20 tmo that is hard bricked ? I mean literally no power on. Even computer just makes a buzzer sound like I lost at a spelling bee sound when I connect the phone to it. I was attempting to flash older fw with cracked v20 lgup tool. Any advice? I think it's just a Frisbee now :crying:
LG-h918 bricked with old 9008 loader
I am trying to unbrick an LG-h918 using QFIL and I keep getting sahara fail. I am open to ANY options to unbrick this device!not just QFIL. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There are 0, an h918 in 9008/EDL mode is DONE. The firehose that leaked for the other models of v20 won't work for it (can't remember if its an arb check, the differing firmware signature, or both,, its talked about somewhere in the firehose/9008 test point thread). If you don't at least have download mode or twrp there's nothing to be done for it without sending it LG and paying them (if they bother to dig out their copy of the firehose or just replace the board or just tell you sorry, idk, but they're the only ones who might be able to do anything)

locked bootload, any methods to fix it?

Hi there,
I think I have screwed up my V20.
I have flashed a new rom, met the decryption unsuccessful, format data didn't work.
then I searched a thread, it said lock bootload and then unlock it could help.
then, brick.
I have not entered the new rom and tick on the oem unlock button. and now the phone didn't pass the security check and shutdown automatically.
any methods could help? 9008?
thanks a lot.

yeah... locking the bootloader has zero to do with encryption/decryption..
If it won't let you back into fastboot mode (volume down+usb connect) and reunlock it.
You might have Download mode/LG UP.... unless you put/left twrp on that. (volume up+usb connect from powered off).
If you don't have either of those and you have an H918 you're screwed.
If you don't have either of those and you have another variant (as long as its not an ARB 1 ls997) it may be possible to reflash using the leaked firehose (which is arb 0 and signed for the other variants besides H918) but I have no experience with

thanks for the reply mate.
i am afraid I have met the worst situation.
1. able to enter fastboot, but not allow wo unlock bootload. (cos I flashed the new rom and didn't even enter it, and tick the oem unlock button )
2. I have used LAF to change the download mode to be TWRP, so no hope here. the tricky thing is, once I lock the bootload, it could not even enter download mode or TWRP, showed not pass the safety check, will not boot. and then an endless boot loop.
3. my V20 is H918.
4. MY V20 is totally screwed........cry face.

[Q] How do I restore/fix my Moto G5 Plus (No ID / no recovery)?

Hi. I'm not sure what's wrong with my phone, but I think something went wrong with my attempt to install the TWRP bootloader a while back. For example, when I restart my phone, it tells me I have a missing bootloader. I'm still on stock Android 7.0. Unsure if my phone will get OTA updates because I've screwed it up. My phone is unlocked but not rooted. I really want to get on the stock Android 8.1 with TWRP as my recovery.
Is there an easy-to-use tool or comprehensive guide I can use to attempt to fix my phone?
I've attached some screenshots to show you some of the problems I encounter with boot-up and recovery. The first screenshot shows the unlock warning. Note how the ID says "bad key". Not sure what that even means. The second screenshot is what I see if I attempt to enter Recovery through the bootloader. It says "No command".
Thank you.
Bad key isn't missing bootloader. Also that is what the stock recovery looks like. For more options press hold the power button and then press volume down. It will show the menu.
You can just relock the bootloader to get OTA. Or you can just get the latest firmware and flash it since you won't get any further updates from Moto.

S8+ wont turn on after flashing bootloader

I flashed bootloader according to instructions on https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/development/root-t4128321 in an attempt to root.
Now my phone wont turn on at all.
Even removing battery has no effect.
No vibrate, no flicker, no LED lights, nothing.
Flashing was completed and phone rebooted and that was it. No sign of life since.
I dont know what to do.
Is there a way to flash stock bootloader on to the chip manually with some kind of hardware and a utility patching directly to the board ?

I have not looked at it yet but am sure there is a way to tap in, i just need to know where.
Same here, Is your phone ok now?
My booloader version was b8, and it seem competely bricked, no response whatever I do.
I try to saving it by using 9008 mode but I can't find b8 stuffs.
Is there any way to get the flash file need to change my S8 Recovery Mode. zhsuicel
