Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 freezes during charging on Lineageos 17.1 - Samsung Galaxy S4 VE Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, it's my first post.
I'm new to modding phones so please forgive me if I don't know something. I've searched for similar threads but didn't find anything that relate to my problem. Recently I installed Lineageos 17.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 and I'm very satisfied with this rom. Battery discharges much slower and apps run quicker than on stock Samsung rom. However I have a problem which I didn't find solution to. When I plug my phone in and wait about 20 minutes the phone completely freezes. Screen remains black and every hardware button doesn't work. The only way to make my device usable again is to pull out the battery and place it again inside. The problem doesn't occurr when phone is discharging. There isn't any custom app installed, not even gapps. What can I do to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.

[Q] S4 Known issues

Hi!
New I9505 user here.. Still getting used to it before I do anything. I just wanna ask if there is any known issue on our unit? Overheating, Crashing camera app etc? If there is one is there anything we can about it? like overheating, I know using a Bloat free ROM can help. Thanks for the response in advance
its just the over heating and its start to happen if you update or flash new rom or Stock firmware & its gone by if you charged your battery once till 100%.
and if you want to count the locked bootloader :\
i have i9500, the heating issues is gone on 4.4.2, the only bad thing in all galaxy devices is the lag, its better in 4.4.2 but still not perfect, opening contacts, phone, messages takes some time so its not as fast as it should be...

Everything is running in slow motion on my S4

I've had this issue for months now and I've started countless threads in countless forums attempting to solve it:
my S4 (GT-I9505 jflte) is basically running in "slow motion". What I mean by that is that no matter what I do, about 50% of the time all animations will play back at about half the speed they normally would and any kind of input will be registered with a delay of about half a second. Animations still look smooth at about 60fps and the phone doesn't crash, it's just... slow. Really slow.
I used to think this had to be an issue with Cyanogenmod (was running the Optimized CM12.1 rom from AntaresOne & Alucard), but after trying several different builds and clean flashing countless times, nothing changed. Now I just flashed an entirely different ROM (Resurrection Remix) and although it ran buttery-smooth for the first hour or so, after restoring all my apps it has now started doing the same thing.
The fact that the problem persists even with a completely different ROM leads me to believe it must be something to do with the apps I have installed. But how do I troubleshoot this? I have way too much stuff on my phone to go through deinstalling every single app and making sure it wasn't causing the problem.
I have no idea how to approach this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT:
I'm not sure if this has been happening before with CM12 or if it just started happening now with Resurrection Remix, but I just noticed that it seems to happen mostly when the device is charging. When I unplug it, 9 times out of 10 the slowness will instantly go away... is that an indication of anything?
EDIT 2
I think I just solved the issue. After discovering that the problem appeared to be caused by the charging, I tried a different charger. My original Samsung charger started having horrible coil whine a few months ago, so I threw it out and started using a generic one I had laying around. Come to think of it now, that must have been when the problem started.
I just found another charger for a Samsung phone and plugged my phone in: everything fine. Switched back to the generic charger: everything slow. So it must have been the charger. Just out of curiosity, is this a known issue? Could some kind of electrical noise from the charger be interfering with the touch screen? Seems almost bizarre that a simple charger would cause a phone to run slow...

Custom ROM; Charging while power off causes freeze.

Guys, anyone know maybe, what's the trick to fix this?
I tried some custom ROMs for my Galaxy S7, one work perfectly and other causes this strange freeze during power off charging.
So anyone an idea?
I would discuss this in the thread for the ROM, since it has nothing to do with the standard S7 Edge.

Galaxy S4 switching off around 30% since flashing CM

A few months ago, I flashed a 6.0.1 cyanogenmod rom(by Alberto96) onto my jfltexx(international) S4. Excellent Rom I must say, but since that flashing, my phone had been dying at 30%, (when I switch on the screen if its 30% or below it'd freeze then switch off). Thinking the ROM was the issue, I then reverted back to stock Samsung 5.0.1, but the issue persisted. I'm not a fan of the stock rom and would like to go back to CM or lineage, any idea what could be causing it?
I've eliminated the fact that it's a faulty battery because this is a new battery, and all my other spares that switch off at 30% work just fine on other devices.
Really hope you can help me resolve this.
Regards

S8 slow and unresponsive

Hey guys,
I don't have this phone, but asking for a coworker. His s8 suddenly just started becoming very slow and unresponsive this morning. He said the only thing he did was try to change his wallpaper and a Samsung wallpaper (or something similar, don't have the actual name of the app but it seems to be baked in by Samsung) app showed up in his app drawer. Just wondering if anyone else experienced something like this and had a solution other than wiping it.
Some more info, he just got an update but hasn't installed it yet. Not sure if this is getting Oreo already or if it's just the September security patch. I checked battery stats and it doesn't seem like there is a rogue app causing it to slow down, but I couldn't find ram usage for the life of me on the phone since I'm not familiar with Samsung's skin. Also tried restarting and letting it fully power off, waiting a few mins and then booting back up.
My guess it's samsung being samsung (the reason I don't buy them anymore but for all I know they don't break after an extended period of time anymore), but I've never seen a phone deteriorate that fast.
Any help is appreciated.
Edit: it's not rooted and the Verizon variant if that makes a difference
