CUSTOM ROM A11 build for SD625 Andorid Headup Units from AOSP Automotive - Android Head-Units

Hi
i am new here.
Actually i try to build a own Custom Rom for a Andorid HU Unit from AOSP. In a first run i would like to use the AOSP Automotive soure.
How it actually is : KSW provides a ROM for several HUs as it is. A lot of manufactures are supoorted so the there are a lot of users in the automotive area.
Start point:
The Units Work with a SD625 alias MSM8953 with 2GB RAM or 4GB RAM
What i did:
Searched for a kernel soure.
Found this A11 MSM8953 Kernel this supports A11.
Got the AOSP A11 Automotive soure in a Ubuntu and i think i am able to compile this.
The main question is:
Are these two components enough to build a full proper ROM?
I read something about Hardware binarie files are they needed ?
How is it with a launcher, is the launcher in AOSP included or do i have to add one by my self.
How can i add GAPPS to ROM ?
Thanks for your help
mujuli
PS. I think my pc is strong enough to do so.
12 Threads 48 GB RAM and M2 SSD 1TB and 2,5 GB NIC and 1 Gbit WWW accsess.

Why ssd isnt recommend for build roms?
I find:
Operating system – Tested on Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10 and 13.10 (64-bit)
Terminal
Decent hardware (minimum of at least a dual core CPU and 4 GB of RAM)
Optimally have an SSD (standard mechanical drives work as well but slow down the process drastically)
Must have required packages for building installed, I will list them further down

[ROM][PX5][Oreo 8.1] Joying ROM Android 8.1 Oreo for PX5 released

Joying released an Android 8.1 update for PX5:
https://www.joyingauto.eu/blog/category/update-firmware/
Unfortunately I was unable to get it onto my (non-Joying) RNS. It currently runs Malaysk 2.0 and it's not recognized as an update. I also tried writing the sdupdate.img to a bootable SD card using the SD Firmware Tool and also tried the Malaysk for updating 6.0.1 => 8.0 by writing the 6.0.1 boot to the card and replacing the file. All methods failed. Maybe someone has more luck or at least it it interesting for the Joying users. I just wanted to try something different then the Malaysk rom for a change.
Just because joying decided to make a few updates to their 8.0 and call it 8.1 does not necessarily make it any newer than malaysk’s version.
Hi, I just bought joy

I guess the 8.1 is newer than the 8.0. Also the Joying interface for settings, ... seems nicer. Just wanted to try something different but seems I have to stick to the Malay for now.

Joying/Joyous RK3188/PX5 units are not MTCD/E units, so you cant use any of Malaysk's ROMs and this thread is in the wrong forum.
Xtrons are advertising 8.1 headunits, is there any firmware that will work with a TE103AP? To get the latest firmware for these, we have to email Xtrons for a link that changes every time an update is released so nobody can see if there is a new update available unless you email them, surely they get bored replying with everyones requests for new updates...

No idea what a "TE103AP" is - "TE103AP" is a made up name by Xtrons - they are a seller only and not a manufacturer, they sell units from several different manufacturers.
On XDA we go by the MCU number as this is the only reliable way of identifying an android headunit.
So post your MCU, that way both yourself and XDA members can identify your unit.

Interesting, but they use RK3399/PX6 chipset, so the ROM wont work on MTCD/E RK3368/PX5 devices, the only way you could upgrade to 8.1 would be to buy an RK3368/PX6 SoM, unless MTC bring out an 8.1 update for the RK3368/PX5, which they might well do.
The RK3369/PX5 is hexacore ie 2 less cores than the RK3368/PX5, but they clock faster than the RK3368/PX5 at 2Ghz (RK3368/PX5 1.5Ghz).
The units in those links are MTCD/E units.
not only clock,
at same clock an Cortex A72 is (lot) better than an Cortex A53. ( https://images.anandtech.com/doci/10347/79519.png ) https://www.anandtech.com/show/10347/arm-cortex-a73-artemis-unveiled
(The PX5 is look like an Snapdragon 425 (or 62x) whereas the PX6 look like a Snapdragon 650 (2 Cortex A72 + 4 Cortex A53)

2 less cores but better processor.
Not sure I can be bothered to upgrade again tough - I went from MTCB/C dual core to MTCB/C quad core to MTCD/E quad core to MTCD/E octa core, I ll think I ll stick with octa core for now, it ll be ages before @Hal9k_ releases a custom ROM for the hexa core units !
BTW @ds980x your unit is an MTCD/E unit and in the MTCD/E form there are 3 custom ROMs available plus many factory ROMS, you are not tied to any links Xtrons give you.

[MOD] [ROM] [PX30] [RK3326] is there a modified ROM available?

Hi,
I am went through the different threads, trying to figure out, if there is already a modded firmware available for PX30, or RK3326 devices with the cortex A35. Based on my S160's experience I am quite sure that I will need root and xposed to modify the HW buttons and perhaps get more usable flash memory for user data.
Does anybody know if there is already somebody working on these devices?
Thanks!
Sebastian
I've just ordered an Eonon GA2175, which a PX30.
My other unit is a PX5 and running the Hal9k rom. I haven't been able to find any information on available or upcoming ROMs.
Commenting for visibility and hopefully the PX30 can have the same magic done to it
From Mar to Oct 2019 and no love for the PX30s?

TBH: Don´t expect to get the unit overclocked to be able to work fluently. The used hardware, RAM, ROM and CPU is not built for performance. Root should be possible with (Example) https://root-apk.kingoapp.com/. I also don´t expect an Android 9 version.

Looking for working 64bit ROM for AllWinner H313/H616/H618

Hey guys,
I’m looking for a stock or pre-rooted 64bit ROM for any one of these 3 Allwinner chipsets for android Tv boxes.
H313
H616
H618
I’ve searched XDA as well as searched everywhere I know to look and I can’t find any custom or stock ROMs available for what I’m in need of. If anyone has one or knows of a post I might have overlooked please link below if possible. I have a 32bit rooted H313 that I’m trying to either make my own custom rom for or hopefully find an existing one I can build off of or anything. The ATV I’m working with is a X96Q pro android 10 4/16gb the ones I have come pre-rooted but as stated with a 32bit ROM. But I’d like to update to 64 if possible. Thanks guys
Here.... you will find what you need.......

Hi, not sure the firmwares there are for 64bit...
My logic... I cannot install the arm64-v8a version of the Kodi apk. (not sure there's any sense on this logic - eager to understand if not)
My believe is the 64bit manages the memory more efficiently.
Thanks
[hope the threat is appropiate]
