Battery voltage too high ? - POCO M3 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone
I just bought poco m3 4/128g global version. When my phone fully charged, battery voltage is 4.462 V
Is that normal? Thanks

Mine has a battery voltage of 4.039 V, with 67% battery, not charging.

I think yours is normal, because mine is 4.367 V with 97% battery.

Battery Degradation after 5/6 weeks?

Hi all.
Surely this isnt right. Had my Nexus-One 5/6 weeks i dont remember whenever they were released and shipped to the UK.
After 2 weeks i Rooted the phone, and installed the CyanogenMod.
Now i noticing today battery was stuck on 98% charging. Checked in Menu>Spare Parts>Battery Information.
Battery status: Full
Power plug: USB
Battery level: 98
Battery scale: 100
Battery health: Good
Battery voltage: 4045 mV
Battery temp: 29.5C
Battery technology: Li-Ion
Now since sending a few SMS, ans opening a Email, the level is now at 92%. Yet its still plugged in but the battery is draining! WTF is going on.
The phone has always and only been charged using USB!
I charge the phone once daily overnight while i sleep.
Surely something is wrong here?

cyan 5.0.3.1 drained the F outta my bat as well. I went back to 5.0.2 back to normal

Nope. Cyanogen 5.0.3+ uses a new kernel which implements different charging logic.
Basically it will charge to 100% but then stop charging until the battery drops to 90%. It supposedly improves battery life by avoiding overcharging.
FYI to the OP... charging exclusively from USB is not going to help your battery in any way, contrary to what a few people on this forum think. Use the stock charger and save yourself the time.

This. Supposedly this will lead to longer battery life without a degradation in capacity due to excessive charging. This has been implemented with software logic for Li-Ion batteries in Laptops for a while now (although it doesn't appear to be default on most). You'll see it charge again once it hits 90%.

[Q] Battery voltage 4.3V+ after 90%

So I was wondering if anybody knows what the normal battery voltage is supposed to be for this phone?
Because I have noticed that the battery voltage is spiking fairly often at 4.3V or more, when it's charging at 90% charged or above.
current
Which kernel are you using? There is a option to change charging current in some kernels.. check for it using EXtweaks. if so change it to a lower value.. default is 650mA on my s2.

On mine too! I've seen it at 4.3v+ when the battery is at 100% charge
I'm no theoretical electrical philosopher type, but voltage will read higher while you're charging. Your car battery is at ~12V while the car is off (it's a 12V battery), but while the car is running voltage will be ~14V

Which battery app is that?
Yea it only seems to spike above this when charging above 90% before 90% it never reaches 4.3V. I've set an alarm to tell me when it goes above 4.3V that's how I know.

Battery Widget? Reborn! <---seriously, that's the name

Are people here with this problem also experiencing the problem of the phone detecting that it's on low power USB charge mode when it's actually plugged into the wall and supposed to be on AC??
Not me, but we don't know that this is a problem.

My SGS4 charges at 1900mA

Hi....
My problem happened suddenly ... i found my phone charges at 1900mA .. i tried to change the charger but even the 0.7ma output charger gives me 1900mA ... i use the original charger and battery and i changed the charger and the battery with now ones but the sames... when i remove the battery for 10 mints .. it charges at 1200mA for short time maybe 5 mints then goes 1900mA and it chrges the battery in less than 40 mints but -_- it drains very quickly ..... what are your opinions ? What is the problem ? How can i overcome it ?
..
Thanx all ..

So your problem is high battery drain? SGS4 charger is 2000 mA, so I think 1900 mA charging current is normal - but 700 mA charger should not output 1900 mA - maybe there is some mistake? Have you actually measured the output current of a charger?
How old your battery is and does it have bumps on the sides (needs to be flat sides)? And see battery stats is your phone staying awake while you not using it?

The mobile and the battery are new ... i bought them less than a month ago .. .... i tried 3 batteries from my friends ... all have the same thing.... my ....my one phone just read the 0.7A charger as 1900mA power ....
my battery starts to drain 3 days..... when it 100% and i use *#0228## it get 70% ... then i charge it 100% it isnot draining ...
Have you checked does the battery voltage change, if the battery percentage is not draining`?

How can i check the voltage and wt the optimum must it be?
I tried that code *#0228# which took me to batterystats, so there is battery voltage (mV).
I'm not sure about voltage amount, but try google " li ion battery voltage vs capacity", that seems to give out some info. But as far as I know battery percentage is derived from voltage, so it would be good to confirm that your phone can read battery voltages correctly. Maybe someone else is more specified about batteries, to explain details.

min/max voltage (mV) for original phone battery

Good day, can anyone tell me the minimum and maximum voltage (mV) for original phone battery? Not the specs of the battery but from your actual usage.
With stock battery and bcharger, around 900 ma. In discharging the values is between 90 and 350 ma or 3,8 mv.

So do you get a constant flow of 3800 mV?
First of all why do you ask?
It's not tied to battery but in kernel settings (max Voltage).
If you have problems with not constant voltage it's probably charger/cable related.

Im trying to figure why my phone drains from 40% - 0% in seconds.
I've tries different charge and cables.
4312mV is my max and phone flickers and switches off if mV drops below 3500mV.

V max you have is OK.
Frankly I don't know what's going on in your case and I had all kind of ****s happening to me with this phone regarding charging (buried 2 original chargers, couple of cables, had my phone USB port ****ed up & replaced & on a second battery right now). What I do know it's that battery charging logic is totally ****ed up (by Samsung) on the kernel side. I suppose that you are on CM 12.1 (or some of its derivatives)?
If you are try a new Nikolas kernel (rev 2) as from rev 2 their is a new charging driver that we hope it will resolve charging logic problems. Naturally wipe all (except data) when you flash it.
Best regards.
Yes I'm using n1kolaa ROM and kernel. But on other build my phone would have just switch off around 30-40% but on his kernel it would drain fast from around 40% but I would see the "phone is shutting down" dialog now.
In using a 1 month old battery and I suspect that it may be a fake but I bought it from a Samsung store.
Thanks for the info.

It's a habit of the Samsung battery that it have asymmetrical discharge, it starts to go down faster at 50% & last 15% drains really fast.
It's possible that it's bad battery or faked one.
I bought Anker replacement one & I am satisfied with it, it doesn't last longer but it discharges much more symmetrical to the last 20%...
After a lot of research I ordered an Anker 2200mah yesterday. hope that it performs better than this one.

redmi note 7 charger

hi guys..i bought RN7 recently..it takes 130mins to charge fully but i charge my RN7 with mi5 charger(fast3 and output is 2.5A) and its the result
30min>>0 to 42% but stock charger 30%
60min>>0 to 75% but stock charger 59%
0 to 90% with mi5 charger 78min
0 to 90% with stock charger 100min
so its my question√ can mi5 charger harm my phone?
should i charge my phone with stock charger or i can use my mi5 charger?
tnx guys

U can use any charger u want. Even a 40W charger for a tablet which I use. The phone would draw the power it needs and nothing more.

i think you need to check whether the mobile is getting heated while charging, if yes then change the cahrger
keep in mind that it is good practice to use battery in the range of 15% to 80% to increase its life, i mean dont allow your phone to drain below 15% battery and dont charge it above 80%, if you planning to use the phone for years
