Bootloop/downgrade to Android 8 Oreo - Moto G6 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello everybody
I solved a boot loop caused by a Magisk update with the Motorola Rescue and Smart Assistant sw (link).
Now I have Android 9 in the device (I had Oreo before and I was fine)
But now I have the problem that there is no Xposed for Pie, and the alternatives I tried (Riru EdXposed, Riru LsPosed) cause the device to bootloop.
Question: so far to restore the Moto G6 Plus I go to recovery and performed the factory reset; is there the possibility to restore the device while keeping the configurations and apps installed?
Or alternatively, is it possible to downgrade to Android 8 Oreo?
Ps
Sorry for my english, I use Google translate...

Use titanium backup to save apps from restoring. first backup, then save the files on computer, then Put them back and use titanium backup to restore.
Titanium backup needs root.
As for downgrading... You just have to flash it like any other stock rom, but you have the chance of something not working...

[Q] TWRP Restore didn't restore apps - can I get them back? [solved]

What it says on the tin. I backed up using ROM Manager to launch the backup. I was upgrading to the CM11m6 from CM10.2 but that led to a failed boot followed by boot into recovery so I decided to restore. Restoring has left just CM`s built-in apps, a few gapps and one paid app. I thought nandroid backups were like imaging a computer and you got everything back? I stupidly didn't make backups with TitaniumBackup thinking it was unnecessary.
So, any ways for me to get all my apps back?
Update for googlers: I used Nandroid Manager to restore the missing apps from the backup. Hope that helps someone else with this situation!
I discovered a new issue while I continued to use CM 10.2.1--some apps updated and then it went into a bootloop again. Luckily I had am so I restored it and restored the missing apps again. I suspect it's either Gmail, Google Text-to-Speech, Google+ or Android Terminal Emulator. Google didn't reveal anybody else having this problem yet with the latest updates, so I must have some very unique issue.
As for updating to CM11, I'm gonna try creating another image (which'll hopefully restore all apps!) after it gets stable and trying updating to CM M5 instead of M6 which seems to have caused a bootloop for at least one person, too. I can't post outside links yet, so that person's report can be found by googling this phrase including quotation marks: "Update From 10.2.1 Stable To 11 M6 Causes Boot Loop".
Another update for googlers: The problem of apps-not-restoring seems to have been caused by version 2.6.0.0 of TWRP. I tried updating to 2.6.3.1 using both GooManager and TWRP Manager but it didn't stick. Used Nexus Root Toolkit to upgrade TWRP to 2.7.0.0, though. Restoring the image with that restored all the apps as far as I can figure out. Yay! Now I don't have to wait 3-4 hours for the app restore process to finish on top of the nandroid restore.

Restore apps in Android N preview?

Hello,
I just installed the N preview with a decrypted boot.img, rooted it with the new SuperSU and now I'm trying to restore my apps with titanium backup. Unfortunately it doesn't work. It gets stuck at restoring the first app. Do you guys have any idea about how I can restore my old apps+settings?
PS: I also have a nandroid backup of my old ROM, so I can restore that one, install another app if necessary and then reflash the N preview.

Can't uninstall firmware apps

hello, I would like to unistall Spotify and other apps included on my X compact Nougat firmware. (have root device)
I tried with Titanium Backup, but after some second the app reappears.
There is an option with TB that force the unistall by recovery, but if I do that recovery does not boot.
(I can boot in recovery manually only)...
Any Help?

Help!! go from 8.1 to 6.0

I explain my problem, after taking time trying roms 8.1 I decided to give a second chance to the stock-based roms. After several attempts with a couple of roms, I always get the same problem after installation (so not installed). I have read that it may be a problem with the version of twrp (right now with the latest version). Before trying to download the version I have to do something special, install as an image and go? Do I lose information when doing it?
What steps should I follow to go down to 6.0?
Besides this, I have a backup made of the gizrom, every time I want to restore it I get the same message: so not installed
Thank you

Backup everything on your internal storage while you are on 8.1 rom. Or restore 8.1 rom and do the backup now.
Even you had tried to restore 6.0 stock rom (unsuccessfully) you can still restore the 8.1 Twrp backup it should work.
Go back from 8.1 to stock 6.0 you can restore the 6.0 backup in Twrp as normal. But after restore the backup done you will need to format data. From Twrp menu go to: Wipe > Format data (here you will lose everything on internal storage). The stock 6.0 restored rom/system will still there and working.
You can restore the app data of the backup rom after you done with the format data.
If you don't do the format data the 6.0 rom will not work I think. It will show something about encryption stuff when it try to boot and enter the system.

How to backup apps before unlocking bootloader and restore apps

I have an EU H870 with V20g-EUR-xx version 8.0.0 (from Settings-->About Phone-->Software Info)
I have many apps already installed with data
I want to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, install custom ROM, install Magisk (for root), restore my user apps+data
I realise that unlocking the bootloader will wipe out my user data (factory reset) so how do I backup all the apps+data beforehand and then restore them at the end? I had an LG G4 before and unlocked the bootloader when I first got it (second-hand already out of warranty) but this G6 was quite new so didn't want to unlock straightaway. I have used Titanium Backup on G4 but it won't work on G6 as I don't have root yet so I seem to be in a loop here (need backup before root, need root to backup).
I have also heard of issues with TWRP and re-encryption issues preventing TWRP restoring TWRP backups.
Can someone help with a definitive list of instructions, listing other G6 guides is OK. I have searched the G6 Guides section and G6 Q&A section but couldn't find the full story.
I am just so lost at the moment and don't want to lose my data. I know my pictures/music are OK as I can copy them from the internal storage to an SD card and copy them back.
Thanks
Darren
