Recently updated to Android 11 and now whenever there is a new whatsapp message (which is many times per minute), I see a horizontal balloon about this notification (with content) at the top with rest of the screen remaining off.
How to disable these type of notifications which show even on sleeping screen?

got nexus 4 with 4.4.1 stock rom+kernel.
im experiencing annoying bug with expanding notification: when unlocking the phone and then expanding the notification in the notification bar for the first time after the unlock, it goes back automatically to normal notification after few seconds.
for example, when i receive email, i unlock the phone, draw down the notification window and expand the gmail notification for additional options (such as delete), but few seconds later it goes back to normal notification size (automatically), if i expand it for the second time it stays expanded.
it really annoys me because if i wanna delete the email and i try to press the delete its gone and i accidentally press another notification which opens another application.
Hope i was clear.
is there a solution for it?

This has worked for me since yesterday, earlier my phone use to get locked every ten seconds or so and I was not at all able to use it.
I was having a gut feeling that the issue of locking and changing wallpaper is face most of the times when some Message is about to arrive or some notification from some application is poping up on screen.
For this yesterday what i did is as follows:
Settings > Notifications > Pop-up notifications are disabled
When device is locked
Don't show notifications at all
App notifications
Messaging
blocked
Notification access
Theme chooser - It can be allowed as ticked only,no other app
Filter notifications
To do this , when a notification pops up,
say mostly it is for low battery which will lock the screen almost after few seconds.
Press and hold the notification popup message and click on the icon to filter it then it will show under Filter notifications tab.
Select above things in Settings menu and Im sure the problem might get solved for you also.
Only drawback being you cannot see the notification on Locked screen but the blinking green and white light tells about new notifications.

Main thing is to block the popup notifications , as soon as these are disabled. Screen wil not get locked.changes might reflect after a phone restart.

Hi, so I have 2 questions related to this
1. How do I change the notification (lets say for emails) view to be expanded? It currently clubs multiple notifications for the same app and shows me the app name and just how many notification I have under it. How do I make it show the notifications separately, like iPhone does?
2. When I click the power button when locked (to simply check notifications), the screen stays lit for barely 2-3 seconds before going dark again. How do I change this to stay lit longer?
All my other and older devices showed each and every message in the notification bar when zhe screen was on (left to right motion) and when the message reached the end it dissapeared back to the classic notification bar with viber icon there. I'm really missing this on Oneplus devices (I had OP3 couple months ago just to try it out).
Is there any way how to have the previews going on in the notification bar when zhe screen is on?

Since I do not carry my mobile permanently with me, I had with my Ulephone Power 3 the possibility to me with receipt of a message (WhatsApp, telephone call etc.) on the lock screen an icon to indicate. So I could always take a look at it in passing and knew when I had to pick up the phone.
I did not find this function on the Redmi Note 7.
You can set in the menu, the notifications on the lock screen are displayed, but this is only briefly the case and then they are hidden again.
As the Note 7 notification LED is barely visible, it would be nicer to have the lock screen notification permanently visible.
Can someone help me there?
Sorry I can't offer much help. Certain apps just don't seem to work with this phone in regards to notifications.
i.e. Flashscore for football notifications would not work at all but Livescore did.
